  1. Commenting mostly because I love this show and it needs more comments, when I don't really have anything to say but gush. Great episode. I could watch David and Patrick hug for hours, because I'm a big cheeseball and they hit me right in the heart.
  2. This has been alluded to for a while now, but it's still something to see it stated so explicitly. I really, really hate that they did this.
  3. There was a topic for the movie. It was farther down the page: http://forums.previously.tv/topic/74878-glass-2019
  4. Yes, he's the co-creator and showrunner and has written all the season premieres, most of the season finales, and usually 1-2 other episodes per season (in addition to the usual showrunner thing of overseeing all the other scripts he's not credited on).

  6. "And are these your relatives?" "Are these my relatives? What kind of gene pool--?" I found the episode really funny, which I appreciated. The Valencia/Brah plot was an obvious retcon that doesn't really fit (and makes them look kind of shitty), but the final scene between them was so well done and tender I was able to forget that in the moment.
  7. Was just watching 30 Rock's "Plan B" and recognized the credited writers' names as the writers of this one, Josh Siegal and Dylan Morgan. Looked up their credits on IMDB, and while I'd remembered their names, I never realized how they'd been responsible for some of my favorite TV episodes--30 Rock's "Argus," "Plan B" and "The Tuxedo Begins;" Kimmy Schmidt's "Kimmy Gives Up!" and "Kimmy Meets a Celebrity!"; last season's "The Trolley Problem." Pretty good track record, and "Janet(s)" is another impressive piece of work from them. (I did a search of the thread to see if their names had been mentioned, and they hadn't, and it seemed like they should be.)
  8. The Hollywood Reporter's latest interview with Schur post-"Janet(s)" has a lot of interesting tidbits about the process and how the show is made, which I always find interesting.
  9. From Variety's Schur interview: So I would guess they're going to have to go with "Michael was lying" as the explanation for Lincoln being mentioned back then. (edited: Or I'll go with HunterHunted's explanation below, which makes sense too.) Boy, between training for the fight scene in the last episode and playing her co-stars in this one, they threw plenty of challenges at D'Arcy Carden over a short period of time, and she pulled them off. Hopefully the show getting more awards attention is happening at just the right time for her to finally get some Emmy (and other award) love.
  10. "We did it!" "Well, she..." ❤️ I love this show very, very much. 30 minutes of joy I need every week.
  11. It's unlikely these episodes were written with the knowledge this was the last season, considering CBS and the producers were widely discussing another renewal most of the summer. The news that the show was ending broke August 22, and all the reports were that Jim Parsons told the cast and producers that he was leaving the previous Friday, August 17, and it was a shock to them. These first four episodes were shot 8/21, 8/28, 9/5 and 9/18, and the writers would have started working on the season in late June/early July. (If Anu was introduced in the episode shot two weeks after the show’s ending was announced, that plotline had to have planned before that so they had time to write and cast it.) I wouldn’t expect any indication the writing was done with the show's ending in mind or last season spark of inspiration to appear for a few more episodes (if it does at all, that is.)

  13. The Nick-Eleanor conversation is one that was cut, so presumably it will turn up as a DVD extra. The last paragraph of this article describes it:

This article, discussing the changes from book to movie, confirms Shum's scenes were cut: http://www.vulture.com/2018/08/crazy-rich-asians-the-biggest-changes-from-book-to-movie.html Another article discussing the making of the mahjong scene. 15. Yeah, this is Showtime, the channel that has dragged out plenty of shows long after their story was finished and they should have ended (Dexter, Weeds...). The idea that they would let her go because her story had run its course is ridiculous. That's certainly never stopped them before. Ruth Wilson Says She Had ‘No Say’ About The Affair Death I mean, I wouldn't expect an actor to have a say in the writing, but still... Would have been a nicer ending.
  16. I can't edit that, so here's another: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/ruth-wilson-affair-exit-explained-1135396

  18. Yes, this episode was the last one from the original showrunner (the 10th filmed). When FOX ordered six more, they demanded a new showrunner and new workplace-centered direction for the show, but they didn't show this one as the 10th (or back in January after the original 9), holding it until after the 6 under the new showrunner/direction had aired. Probably because they knew the "new" version of the show wasn't going to continue the storyline from this episode. It's likely more surprising that they bothered airing it at all.
  19. Unfortunately the Vulture story propagates the misinformation that Barr received a full "created by" credit on the most recent season (before the season began, she gave this interview to EW saying she would finally be credited as the creator of the show, not just "based on the character created by...", because she's full of shit, and several news outlets keep spreading it, even though the credits on the actual show remained as they appeared on the original show.
