I don't remember that at all. I remember double U-turns, where two teams got U-turned, and I remember once or twice when a team didn't know who was behind them and who was in front of them, and U-turned a team who was ahead of them. Do you remember which season the voting U-turn was in?

I feel like they've been to that MC Escher building before, and had a task there. Did I dream that, or was that a thing -- maybe from an early season? RE: the U-turn -- I thought I heard Phil say last night that there would be an anonymous vote, and that every team had to vote on who'd be U-turned.

I don't want to lose either team! Why does it always come to this?

The mural judge is taking too much pleasure in saying, "No."

"Come on Dad" is the new "Twinnieeee!"

I think so, with a similar kind of challenge, but I can't remember which season or what the challenge was.

Finally! But see how he has the donut back on the crown of his head, while the women all have it more directly on the tops of their heads.
-
It looks like they're putting the donut in an odd place on their heads, and so they're having to tilt their heads to keep it on. Ashlie appeared to have hers more towards the front of her head. I think it has a lot to do with donut placement.

I could probably get the choreography, but balancing those pots on my head would be so hard!

But the first team left at 7:00 and the last team left at 7:38, so they were basically even to start.

Dammit! I said Columbus, then overthought it and changed my response to Marco Polo. And the only TS I got was Electric Company.

I saw this last night. I only had a passing familiarity with the story, and have not read the book, but I thought Marty & Co did a great job with it. I had read a bit about how involved the Osage Nation was, and I definitely appreciated that. Lily Gladstone was amazing. Every glance and half-smile carried so much emotion and meaning. And because I hadn't read the book, I was so worried for her when Ernest was slowly killing her. Do we know what, besides insulin, he was injecting? I thought it was interesting that he took some as well. Ernest was a dumbass. I don't want to defend him, but it might be said that he didn't know what he was doing until he was in too deep. Uncle King was ruthless, and no doubt would have had Ernest killed, too. Speaking of the killers, none of them was exactly the sharpest tool in the shed, either. Despite that, they probably would have gotten away with everything if the Bureau of Investigation hadn't gotten involved. Everyone else was either in on it or simply didn't care. I dreaded the run time, but while I was watching, I honestly couldn't figure out what I'd cut. I was riveted. I appreciated the ending, too -- much better than simple title cards telling us what happened in the end. And the drum circle was lovely.

Archive game for me for last night because I went to see "Killers of the Flower Moon." I took the time to read the FJ clue carefully this time (unlike other archive games for me), and almost immediately came up with the correct response. I almost said Elton John, but corrected myself in plenty of time. I think I would have gotten fedora if I'd been able to see the photo, but I did get the TS of block, Leyden jar, and brother. Leyden jar was a guess, mostly because I had no idea what it was. Back in the day, my English teacher in high school used Simon & Garfunkel's song to teach us the poem, "Richard Cory."

I love to open the windows, but there's a somewhat narrow temperature range where that is comfortable for me. But it also gets pretty humid here in the summer, and often doesn't really cool off very much at night due to the humidity. If not for that, I'd have the windows open all summer -- I mostly use the AC to knock back the humidity.

In the winter, I use cozy flannel sheets, made even cozier when I wear my flannel jammies. Sometimes I'll add socks, but those usually come off in the middle of the night. I can always add more covers to the bed if it's cold, but if it's hot, there's only so many covers I can take off, and I'm still sweltering.

A Case Of The Mondays: Vent Your Work Spleen Here
Browncoat replied to potatoradio's topic in Everything Else
Not necessarily. I've held interviews where it has come down to two candidates, and I had to be really nit-picky -- not quite to the point of flipping a coin, but close. And, all other things being equal, I would go with an internal hire simply because they're already in the system. So, yes, taking a lower level job with a company you'd like to work for can be a leg up on the future competition. -
Instaget FJ for me tonight, and I loved Sam's FJ response. I was rooting for either Sam or Josh because Lucy's vocal fry was killing me. I also got the TS of 48, bouillabaisse, feminism, and chipmunk.
