Right? Bundles of flowers in an electric rickshaw vs 50 bricks in a pedaled rickshaw? No contest. Flowers all the way. -

Wow. Second place was almost an hour behind. Nice! Electric rickshaws driven by women! -

I like the U-turn board. I can't tell the timing of the vote, though. It could have been at the end of the last leg, after they checked in, or it could have been on their way to the mat for the rip-and-read. -
I'm glad Ken said they'd accept the names, because that's what I wrote down. And I wrote down the correct ones! I also got the TS of Royal Society, Episcopalian, Krebs, and catfish. Heh, Dave's Barbie-pink hair -- on Wednesdays, we wear pink.

I'm turning off the light now -- it's after 8. And this is why I buy good candy that I like. Even in 2020, I had more than one trick-or-treater. I don't know where they go these days, but it isn't my neighborhood!

I got FJ! I went through the names of Charles' grandkids, pausing briefly at Charlotte (thinking of Charlotte's Web), but knew she was higher than 6th. I got to the correct child just in time to write it down, although I had no idea of the other person with the same name until Ken said it. I also got the TS of temperate, pair bonds, and halo. Kit Carson shout out!

It is 7:45, and there have been zero trick-or-treaters in my neighborhood. How long do I have to keep my light on? ETA: One kid just came! (at 7:50)

The Business: News, Rumours, Analysis, and More
Browncoat replied to sdpfeiffy's topic in Everything Else About Movies
Monty Python and the Holy Grail had an intermission. -
My first thought was Texas, but I waffled, because I thought that was too obvious. I considered California and Montana, and even considered some eastern states that are criss-crossed with interstates, but in the end went with Texas. I also got the TS of botch, dam, Jung, transference, Ticket To Ride, and carbolic acid. And I laughed out loud when TJ finally got to be correct with his guess of Heath Ledger.

I did see it in the theater, and I was extremely happy that my theater has reclining seats -- almost like the La-Z-Boy at home! And I rationed my drink and snacks so I wouldn't run out too soon (like during the previews). But only one person (out of about a dozen) got up, so I guess we didn't need an intermission? -
That's one of my favorite episodes, not only because we get the immortal line, "I'm a doctor, not a bricklayer!"
-
4/5 for me this week.
-
I waffled briefly between Jefferson and Franklin, but settled on Franklin in the end. I also got the TS of Whale Rider, short stories, Book of Mormon, spores, subject, and deluge. I wasn't looking at the clue for "fragment" or I might have gotten that one as well.

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"
Browncoat replied to Betweenyouandme's topic in Everything Else
Peeve of the day -- my stupid satellite TV. It worked fine this morning, and at lunchtime, but now, for no reason I can see, some channels are not coming in. It isn't cloudy, nothing has disturbed the dish, and no trees have grown branches that block the dish in the last four hours. I checked the cable, and it all seems to be connected properly. It's just so random. And annoying. ETA: And it's back. No idea why. -
There were a lot of cut outs, each with very slight differences, and they were scattered over a large area. Add in the heat and fatigue, and I can see how it would be a major struggle to figure out tiny things like the one figure having a small brooch or crossed scarves instead of a single scarf. And once you figure it out, you have to run all over the place to find the right figure.

Instaget FJ, but I really tried hard to think of another family -- it couldn't be that easy, right? Fortunately, unlike the other day with Columbus, I stuck with my first instinct. Incidentally, Carnegie was Scottish. I also got the TS of Rachel Carson, Atonement, house martin, Ways & Means, kitchen, Marquette, center, and wide receiver. It appeared to me that Yoshie should get her eyes checked and perhaps get glasses or contacts before her next game. She was squinting so much to see what clues were left!

Apparently I blocked that from my memory! I know I watched that season! I found a recap of that episode, and I remember the cows, but not much else. I are old.
