  1. The best part was Claire calling Todd on the sex fantasy. Her line delivery was perfect.
  2. History is not my strong suit at all, so I really didn't have a clue. None of the names I could come up with from the Revolutionary era fit.
  3. Oh, good! No more Fred. I like the new champ, although I was yelling "Lobes, lobes!" at the TV for the breathing DD. Also, FJ was an instaget for me.
  4. I think the point was to say the whole word. The letters alone weren't enough. I somehow got FJ, although I'm not sure why or how. I've never watched the show, and didn't pay much attention to the Emmys last year, either.
  5. I get that "zabaglione" is not the easiest word to pronounce, but "zabaloney" doesn't quite cut it for me. Fred should have been dinged on that one.
  6. Houston was the first and only city that came to my mind. I tried to think of anything else it might be, too, since that seemed so obvious to me. And how fitting that Fred would get the question of "What is exasperation?"
  7. I have seen "calendar" misspelled as "calender" so I guess that was the potential trip-up.
  8. I didn't much care for Helen after the first ep or two that she was in. When she and Andy first got together, she was practically a feminist! She didn't know how to cook leg of lamb, preferring frozen dinners, and she was not planning on quitting her job at all if she got married. Barney was outraged! I don't know why they changed her. My favorite ep is the one where the spoiled city kid comes to town. I love the conversations between Andy and Opie about how much Opie's allowance should be and whether or not he should have to work for it. Opie throwing a tantrum is hilarious, too.
  9. It makes me kind of sad that Fred won again. It also makes me a little sad that he was the only one who knew FJ.
  10. Ooh, the save-the-date! Which was January 31, 8pm Eastern! (Set your DVR!) Hee!
  11. Yay, Princess Bride reference! Also, Notting Hill!
  12. Damn. I haven't rooted against anyone as hard as I rooted against the new champ in a long time. He was killing me with how long he took to choose the next clue and to answer. But, like Kyle, I couldn't for the life of me think of the right battle for FJ. I did, however, know anaphylactic shock.
  13. Poets? Walt Whitman or Emily Dickinson.
  14. I guess the two who missed FJ aren't Harry Potter fans? It was an instaget for me. Although I am surprised that the category didn't specify famous female Brits.
  15. They also tend to forget that there are girls who like Star Wars, too, and would like to have the action figure of the girl.
  16. It sounds like I should have recorded last night! I always miss Tuesday's shows.
  17. Bad wagering by Randi. Interesting outcome, though. Has that happened before?
  18. It occurred to me later what the tall dwarves and the short giants reminded me of -- The Phantom Tollbooth. Milo encounters the tallest short man in the world, the shortest tall man, the thinnest fat man and the fattest thin man, and they're all the same, nondescript guy.
  19. Augh! No! I hope he had on some serious chain mail, too.
  20. Oh my god -- the giants vs. dwarves dance was hilarious! Love that they got a bearded dragon to be the dragon.
  21. My biggest issue with this ep was the whole lobster thing. It's an Atlantic lobster if it's from Maine -- aren't these folks meant to be in California? Thus they released the lobster in the Pacific Ocean. How's it supposed to get back to Maine? Even if it didn't still have the rubber bands on its claws. Otherwise, not a horrible ep. I did like the gym membership bit.
  22. I suspect it was submitted to the Animated category because it has a much much better chance of actually winning in that category. It is highly unlikely that it would win in the Best Picture category, and if it were me, I'd rather have a win than just a nomination. Of course, that's pure speculation, but that would be how I would approach it if I were attached to the film in any way.
  23. I agree, Sean. I loved it (and also saw it three times), but it isn't surprising that it didn't get noms in anything other than technical/music categories. I would have been surprised if it hadn't gotten the noms it did.
  24. RIP Severus. His backstory was without a doubt one of the best bits of all the movies, and I can't imagine anyone else in that role. Cancer sucks.
