  1. See also my post in the Commercials that irritate thread. Ahem. I do enjoy the current one running for Heartguard with all the dogs "hiding" from mosquitoes -- the Weimeraner "disguised" as a stone dog, the Shar-Pei next to some folded brown towels, the Komondor as a mop... Cracks me up every time.
  2. That was weird. I would have thought Alaska's flag was well-known enough not to need a picture.
  3. Oh my. I'm right there with you on all counts.
  4. I try to go for a drive at least once a week, just to keep my car from sitting around, which I know is bad for the battery. But I drive a hybrid, so after about five weeks, I'm still only down half a tank of gas. I'm planning on filling up before the end of April, though, otherwise my fuel points will expire. Ditto on the people who don't know which side of the road to walk on. I'm not sure what will change that behavior, but I try to model it when I go for walks around my sidewalk-less neighborhood. Folks around here who ride bicycles are much better about using the correct lane.
  5. I was so distracted by Shawn's leaning and tapping his fingers and otherwise fidgeting, and hoping he didn't win that I missed FJ. That's my excuse, and I'm sticking with it! And the only TS I got was bears.
  6. Well, I sucked tonight. No FJ for me, and though it seemed like there were a lot of TS, I only got three -- Kansas, Keystone State, and Duchess. And as for the Main Street clue, I actually thought about it, and still picked the wrong author! But we got a "genre", so there's that.
  7. I honestly had zero clue for FJ, until I started thinking about what country might have that large a population -- specifically what democratic country might have that large a population. Once I did that, India was the first one to come to mind, so that's what I went with. Good for me! I also got 1930s, sides, Mary Tyler Moore Show, tailor, and auger. Anything that sounds like "Mahna Mahna", such as "Phenomena", puts that song in my head forever.
  8. Dear William Shatner and SoClean, Maybe the first time I saw your SoClean ad, I didn't know you were diagnosed with a sleep disorder many years ago, but when I see the ad two or three times per commercial break, I figured it out. Make it stop!!!!
  9. Same here. I had no idea who wrote those books, but I thought it was probably referring to them. I was sad that they didn't finish the James Taylor category -- I got all of those! I even knew George Harrison without having two other people guess two other Beatles. TS I got include sap, columnist, You've Got A Friend, temblor, grafting, and sponges.
  10. Stanley Tucci can make me a cocktail any time.
  11. Sadly, it is cloudy here, and there is quite a lot of light pollution to the northeast. I couldn't see any last night/early this morning. 😞
  12. I hate that song, but it was an instaget for me tonight. Probably because I hate it. So many TS! I got United Negro College Fund, Easter Seals, Panama, Zimbabwe and Zambia, egress, nock, I Am Not Spock/I Am Spock, and I Am The Cheese. I would like to thank The Amazing Race for my knowing Zimbabwe and Zambia.
  13. Ants in the kitchen at least make sense. There's food in the kitchen. No food in my bathroom! Maybe my ants needed toilet paper.
  14. Culturally, Virginia's part of the South. Geographically, it's mid-Atlantic. Although, there are parts of Virginia that are farther west than about half of Ohio, so I guess Virginia's mid-west, too? 🙂 And when I talk about Virginia here, I'm more or less excluding that swamp in the Northern part of the state. That region defies description.
  15. They are still around here. I saw the truck last week, and my mother, in a different part of my state, got some stuff from them a couple of weeks ago.
  16. I think it was here that I talked about the mouse in my house a couple of weeks ago. I finally caught the damned thing yesterday. I had to move the trap a couple of times, after I found the mouse's entry point and blocked it, but I finally got it. I'm sure it has friends and family, so I set up the second trap (they came in a two-pack) near where I caught the little bugger. In other news, Scrubbing Bubbles kills ants. No idea why there were so many ants in my bathtub, or where they came from, though.
  17. I love that in the State Farm Commercial, where they have all these different employees talking about the refund/credit people who are insured with them will get, they have the employees' names by their talking heads, and one of them is "Jake From State Farm". All the rest have their first and last names.
  18. Okay, I'll give them props for the harmony at the end. That sounded nice.
  19. Piano dude is awesome, as is Andrea Bocelli (of course!).
