Oooh, trouble in Twinland!
-
Okay, both flight attendants have painful vocal fry.
-
It's final enough for the Race, apparently.
-
Dude, don't call the taxi driver, "Bro."
-
Geordi is way too defensive (I don't know his real name, so I'm going to call him Geordi -- thanks, @Lantern7!), and his girlfriend has a serious upspeak problem. Not every sentence is a question, dear.

At least Penn can laugh at/about himself.

Darts! You'll shoot your eye out!

To mess with their heads. And it's working.
-
Don't overthink it, guys!
-
Yes she did, with her vocal fry. But at least her teammate actually spoke!
-
Heh, raccoon in a dumpster.
-
Hm. Good question.
-
The vocal fry of the flight attendants is killing me.

I think the guys had it right except for the ripped bits, and the women did not have it put together correctly -- the judge would have had to tell them which pieces to rearrange.

Another horrible night for me -- no idea for FJ. I recognized the name, but had no idea who the running mate was. As for TS, I only got Mummers Parade and abdicate.
-
Or might be allergic to them.

I waffled among colosseum, arena, and stadium for FJ last night, and finally settled on colosseum mostly because there's one in Rome. None of them sounded right, but I couldn't come up with anything better. Circus never occurred to me, and likely never would. But I did get the TS of Watson and Molly Brown, so I've got that going for me.

I watched it, and I thought some of the questions were ridiculously easy, with only a handful actually challenging (the couch? the oven mitts?). I mean, I guess the teams wanted to make absolutely certain of their answers, but for superfans, they seemed to spend an awful lot of time trying to figure certain questions out. I don't remember which ones now (and I've erased the show from my DVR), but I definitely answered quite a few before Dame Helen finished reading the question. I think I wanted it to be more competitive, with buzzing in and all, instead of taking turns with multiple choice answers. That said, it mildly amused me that Gryffindor flamed out. As a Ravenclaw, I was a little sad they didn't advance to the finals, but I am glad that Hufflepuff took the cup in the end. (I only just found this thread through a link from the Harry Potter movies thread. I never would have looked for it under competitive reality! I kept looking for it under TV specials and one-offs!)

Buying books or borrowing from the library? Which do you prefer?
Browncoat replied to RealHousewife's topic in Books
At my library, I think the limit is five grown-up books, but the limit is higher on kids' books, especially board books and picture books. No idea what it is, since I'm on chapter books now. 😉 Different books have different check out time limits, too. New fiction is two weeks, new non-fiction is three weeks. Older fiction from the stacks is three weeks. Anything from the young adult section (new or old) is three weeks. Again, no idea about children's books, but I would guess three weeks. -
I can't remember if I actually read Shogun or not, but I sure watched the hell out of the mini-series with Richard Chamberlain back in the day.

Pet Peeves: Aka Things That Make You Go "Gah!"
Browncoat replied to Betweenyouandme's topic in Everything Else
Truly petty, first-world problem peeve. Why do all the TV shows I want to watch have to be on Wednesday? I have a DVR, thank goodness, but it takes days to catch up. -
For being so smart, they are dumb. As soon as they said they weren’t allowed in the house while the “indie film” was being shot, even I knew what kind of film it was!

Instaget FJ for me tonight, too, though I pre-guessed Rodin when I saw the category. Glad I didn't stick with that... No TS for me, though. And I said it often enough about Alex that I'll say it about Ken, too -- lay off the accents! If that was supposed to sound like Jimmy Carter, it was a major fail.
