  1. Thanks for posting, y'all! I'm still trying to figure out the videos. I gotta see this flipping the bird business...
  2. Can I just say that the Michelle Keyes dance video posted above really made me miss Hannah West and wish she'd gotten to stay longer and been a point girl? Or Sam Clark! They were in the same rookie class and they were such rockstar dancers. I couldn't take my eyes off Hannah in the video, even though she was on the end. I really hope we get to see footage from some of these new choreographers this season! And, of course, I want to see Travis Wall's visit and him dancing with the poms and all the ladies. IIRC, we've seen them still experimenting with point girls at Oxnard, so yes, it will be a solid indication but not necessarily a sign that point has been decided for the season. So curious about who will be in the final considerations, and I'd absolutely LOVE to see Kelli and Judy discussing point candidates and triangle formation on the show. Which rookies made Show Group again? I mean, besides you know who.
  3. I clicked the link provided here for Kelsey's IG, but I don't see a single wedding-related photo. The most recent posts are real estate and her bachelorette party. 🤔 Can somebody please post an image or two? My modest life could use a shot of vicarious wealthy celebrating! Thanks!
  4. I noticed Savannah doing the same thing--constantly fluffing and flipping her hair because she's wearing a really deep part. Remembering that Danielle did it (and finding it really distracting, like, yes, your hair is gorgeous, but is there ever a moment you're not thinking about it or fiddling with it?), watching Savannah do it her rookie season actually made me wonder if that was a NY area thing. You know, in Texas the hair often is teased sky high, Jersey is known for its Snookie-style bouffant, and maybe some NYers like the impossibly deep part that does not stay in place on its own. Just having deep Sunday morning thoughts over here... I am so curious about the training camp dynamic this year! I do think there often is a pretty high level of anxiety and fear for the TCCs each summer, knowing they can get cut at any moment for anything, but I am in agreement that there likely is a higher level of terror and possibly mistrust because of VK's return and candidates' uncertainty about how far TPTB will go to coddle her onto the team. I really hope most of the girls are able to shunt that stuff aside, put their best feet forward each night, and enjoy bonding with their fellow candidates. I also am so curious about the vet-rookie general dynamics. When I started watching this show, I loved that it focused so much on dance and we didn't have stupid drama like that one NBA dancer show (was it the Clippers?) where there was mad diva behavior that seemed so ridiculous I couldn't believe they let people like that stay on a team. However, now I want all the tea about everything! I believe there is a lot of sisterhood vibes and bestie love, but I want to know more lockerroom dirt!
  5. Yes to more dancing, group leaders and 2nd leaders doing their thang that we hardly get to see, group selections process, more solos, and fewer cheesy staged ads and convos x 10! I'd also love to see more about the work the vets put into finals prep--a segment showing some of the ladies rehearsing and critiquing solos with each other, making costumes, talking about their meal prep and workouts (no, I don't mean some cheesy My Fit Foods plug, just talking heads of the ladies discussing their diet habits or them talking about it as some of them prepare a healthy meal together. Show us more of the work that goes into staying on the team! I'd also like to see a lot more of vets working with TCCs dance-wise. Also, I'd really love to see some of the makeup consultations they get before the makeover. Like, you're using the wrong shades here, or, here's how to make your smokey eye look sexy and not like you're rolling in from partying all night, or, here's how to really play up your best features. That's more than just the before and after shots with some hair foils and cute Marshall consult scenes thrown in. I'm really curious how the rookies learn to do their own version of the DCC look.
  6. I feel like I need Chandi and Kat to make the team. That is all. They both are so gorgeous, and the DCC seriously needs to up their roster of cheerleaders of color.
  7. @Bmathews, you can buy the single issue digitally, too.
  8. Ashley looked amazing, as did Cianna, Caroline, Rachel A, Heather (as always), and Molly! Savannah looks so much prettier when they let her smile naturally in these photo shoots. I approve the no more sexy-constipated facials on her! I saw the super unfortunate photo of Brennan in the magazine some folks had mentioned here. Just, wow. That almost seems like some hateful editing there. Taylor was a big surprise--I always read her more as cute and less beautiful, but she looks grown and sexy in most of these--and Daphne looks much better than I expected based on comments here. Rachel W looked great in most photos, but also thoroughly orange in some. Girl, just stop with the orangeness! She's so gorgeous otherwise, it's kind of absurd. And how could I forget Tess?! I think she's so ridiculously gorgeous and photogenic.
  9. You're not alone, @Opine, I like the suit on Gina, too! I just thought it was a bit scandalous for supposedly wholesome DCC.
  10. I agree--this year's pictures look great. Same photographers as last year. I think the makeup artist put too much blush on Bridget and they were too heavy-handed with Heather in her yellow suit, too. Beachy-light looks better, but they are both so gorgeous that they rock the pictures anyway. I think Maddie's pictures look so good because she's not smiling in them. That is when she looks her prettiest, I hate to say, which is why I don't think she's a good pic for point. Usually, it's an upside when a dancer is smiling all the time, but Maddie's face appears even rounder when she smiles and her upper teeth kind of take over her face. Gina gets squinty when she smiles, yes, but for me, if it's between the two of them, and I were TPTB who's considering "photogenics" when weighing out point girl, I'd have to go with Gina. However, like some others here, I'm hoping there are more than just those two vets in the running for point. I would love to see Heather at point, and I think Lexi is a great dark horse candidate. Both are prettier and more photogenic than Gina or Maddie, I think. I get stuck on Gina's rushing. Otherwise, I'd think there's no question that she would be point. She still might get point, of course, and if she does, I won't be mad at her!
  11. I'm surprised that they didn't put a bikini top under Gina's fringe--it's a tad scandalous for DCC! Her hair is too platinum. Her body looks amazing.
  12. Interesting. If my number one goal of my whole life were to be a DCC, I maybe would have...been a cheerleader or on the dance team in high school. I don't know. It just seems like some kind of preparation or something.
  13. I imagine Bridget wasn't a 2nd GL this year because she's only a 2nd year and there are several strong upper vets to choose from. But, given her dance skills and that she was a captain with the Chargers, I'd say her chances of leadership positions are strong. That said, there are a number of girls who were captains of their teams on the squad right now--Bridget, Rachel A, Daphne, Taylor, and Ashlee, off the top of my head--so, it's no guarantee, but I can picture (hope!) that Bridget is in it for a few years and will get plenty of time to shine as a DCC.
  14. Team Bridget over here! I think she is so gorgeous that she doesn't need any amping, BUT I agree that with some extra glam (a little more oomph to the eyes, maybe?), she would be a knockout point girl. She just radiates so much joy when she dances, even at rehearsal, that she's a delight to watch. Her lines are so clean and she has a seemingly effortless pop to her. I've been all "Bridget For Point Someday!" since about week 3 of last season's show. She absolutely should be a triangle girl if she sticks around and I'm eager to see where she is in the formation this year. She was one of the farthest up of the rookies last year--I think she, Jaylyn, Daphne, and Caroline got the best of the rookie positions last season, and I'm curious how far up each of them moves this year. I'm hoping far! I agree, Meredith was disappointing to watch. Whoever said she's the new Savannah is right--so behind the group, and shockingly lethargic to watch. She really will have to step it up or she will be gone, no matter how much Kelli likes her look. I'd kind of like to see her figure out how to rock it as a rookie and bring the heat, so to speak.
  15. Guesses for MTT poster slots: Ashlee, Heather, Molly, Tess, Savannah (their fave redhead), Alexis, Lexi, or Rachel W.
  16. I recall Show Group being at Oxnard more than once on the show. When Ashley Nicole blew out her knee and Kinzie practically got heat stroke, for instance, and I remember discussions and photos here of another year with Jenna at point pre-season (before she lost point in TC). I seem to recall lots of complaints last year that training camp social media and news was on lockdown, too, with people saying they were losing interest in the show and not watching. Now, yes, this is different and less fun than those summers when we had insiders spilling tea (hello, Megan-Kyndall tense moment), but I feel like this is on par with last summer. Of course, I would like more spoilers, too! I'm really hoping we see individual group work and more of what the leaders (including 2nds!) do with their groups and in rehearsals without Kelli and Judy present during training camp. What kinds of feedback do they give the rookies and their vets? Some of my favorite scenes are vets working with rookies, so I guess overall, I just want to see more of that. For example, I thought Sydney was especially fun to watch at that rookie rehearsal the day after their first night of training camp, because they showed her making real corrections about the dancing and performance styles. Or Ashton working with Taylor one-on-one. Or Lauren working with Simone and I forget who else. The more recent scenes they show with Melissa Rycroft and a vet filming rookies are OK (they're waaaay better than those filmed rookie chats over coffee), but I prefer to see more of current vets working with rookies and each other. Please, CMT? And give those 2nd leaders some spotlight! I watched this show for several years before I even knew they have 2nd leaders on the squad, because they never were mentioned or shown. And one more thing I really want to see on the show: more about the process of vets and rookies receiving their individual notes that Kelli dictates about rehearsal/game performances. I want to know what kinds of positive things they say and what kinds of (constructive?) criticism they offer the ladies in that format. They don't have to show how mean they can be--not a good look for TPTB and probably embarrassing for the candidates--but they could pick a strong vet or rookie to show some part of the notes/reports process. One thing that is annoying on the show, which everyone has pointed out, is that so much focus is on the struggling rookies that we get to know little about the stronger ones who make the team. Showing this (and individual group rehearsals), we might get more glimpses of what kinds of corrections/feedback the strong ones get and it would show that even the stellar ones have to bust ass and work on things. We got glimpses of this last year, with Judy correcting Amber's "floppy" foot in kickline (I think she's an amazing dancer who just hasn't been shown much at all) and Bridget "stomping" their first night in the triangle formation on the practice field. I want to see how hard everyone works to be great on the team, not just the strugglers.
  17. If those are big legs, I'll take two, please! I actually like that picture of her, as she looks more like an average young lady in shorts and tank and ponytail going to work out than a totally done-up pageant queen. Taylor looks great--she's definitely grown on me--and Lexi always is photogenic, even with that cute smirk going on.
  18. Speaking of wanting more behind the scenes stuff, I just found this video on the CMT site and don't recall seeing it before. I find their website challenging to access stuff, and sorry if I missed this being posted before, but I found this video interesting. It's clips from Marcea Lane's visit to training camp last year as a guest choreographer. I wish they'd put her in the show! Part of what was most fascinating to me were the 4 candidates she set aside when putting her 36 stickers on the candidates photos. The top 2 of her lowly 4 were Tara and Malena. I could see that Victoria was next, but I couldn't make out who was below her. Marcea seemed like a great teacher and guest judge for seriously professional feedback. I hope she comes back this year and we see her on the show. http://www.cmt.com/news/1800262/dcc-making-the-team-must-see-moment-marcea-brings-the-heat/
  19. FYI, one of those $500 candles has been purchased for the happy bride and groom. That leaves only 3 more of those candles left on the registry! But don't worry, you can just get them the $500 agate serving board, or if you're on a budget, you can just go for the smaller $185 candles by JM instead. That said, I look forward to the pictures of the society wedding they're throwing! And whatever exotic honeymoon they're taking to a place I'll never be able to afford to visit. I will live vicariously.
  20. I don't think either Maddie or Gina are the prettiest ladies on the squad, but putting the two side by side, like in this poster, I don't even see a contest about who's got more of the glamour-point vibe they go for. This is an OK picture of Gina and one of Maddie's better photos, and still Maddie looks like a little girl. Yes, Gina gets a bit "Joker-y" when she smiles and her eyes scrunch up, but at least that shows the smiles are genuine. Maddie has that round face and huge teeth when she smiles, and I think Gina looks prettier than Mads when she smiles. I think the Gina predictions are pretty on point, but I'm also pulling for Heather or a dark horse like Lexie. I wish Maddie would retire already. I don't dislike her (of course, I don't know her!) but I feel about her being in the triangle like I did about Cassie--as in, I don't see why you're there over some other girls.
  21. I'm hungry for training camp deets! I hope @ByTor is right and we get the group announcements (and pics) soon. I'd love to see Lexie, Molly, Gina, and Rachel A as 2nd leaders. I'm also hoping that predictions are right that Heather O will be a group leader. I read that she was not kept in a leadership position last year for something she did (or didn't do), but there never were any clear suggestions about what that was. Anyone got any dirt on this for us? It seems she survived her punishment and had a stellar year because she got Vet of the Year, which I think is unusual for one who is not retiring that year. I think that says so much about her personality and leadership and level of respect from her team mates, and I hope she gets an official leadership position this year. I know there's no point living in the past, but if Maggie hadn't retired, I feel like she would be the lead contender for point this year. I miss her! Hope she's loving life and enjoying being closer to family.
  22. How old is that video? Like 12 years? They are doing the exact same choreography all these years later. Thank goodness for the guest choreographers or they'd never do anything new. I hope we see Jen Colvin teaching choreo and giving feedback on the show this season! Kind of fun seeing last year's rookies in veteran blue in the practice photo. I really want them to do something about Gina's and Heather's hair. I agree the platinum yellow on Gina is looking rough--the color just highlights that her hair is so thin and it looks unhealthy and I hate those extensions she's been wearing, because they look like...extensions. I feel like extensions should just look like your hair. A shorter cut to get rid of some of the damage and could help return some life and body to her hair. I also do not care for Heather's two-tone blonde and brown 'do. It looks like she plopped a too-small wig on top of her brown hair. She's so gorgeous and this hair color is taking her glam-sophistication factor down several notches for me. Marshall, please fix it!! I know you can. If the 4 who went to the CMT Awards are the group leaders--and I think this is very likely--then Heather and Tess are the two glam leaders and Amy and Maddie are the two cute leaders. I do feel like Maddie looks a bit out of place with the other three for all the reasons several others have stated, and the photos I've seen from auditions and the CMT trip mostly are not doing her favors. I did not love her audition dance or costume, either. Not only was it more of the same, I think last year's costume had a bit of sass and sex appeal to it but this year it just looked like she was covering up and going for a jog. I get it that all these choreographers see something amazing in her, and I do see some tremendous musicality when she dances, but she is inconsistent. She doesn't extend her arms enough and she. does. not. finish. her. moves. Her energy was up and down in the solo. I also noticed that her kicks look weaker and in audition photos her feet looked unpointed too often. The faces she made during her solo were painful to me--it was like one of those cutsey pageant performances. I remember Judy and Kelli telling her to stop making those kinds of faces when she was a rookie. So, stop, please.
  23. I actually would say Brennan's jacket is pretty classic--as supported by the Sherlock Holmes-esque pic posted in jest above. But seriously, the tailored lady's cape-jacket has been around and classy for probably a century, so to me, it's not edgy, it is classy, but it also is a little eh for a DCC interview as it is not something I'd wear to work or really for any professional occasion. I do like this interview outfit much better than some of her others that have gotten some love on here, like her DCC banquet dress. I like Gina's white suit a little better for the occasion than Brennan's but I am not mad at either of them--they both look great! And thanks to folks for the DMD info! Yes, Sheridan was captain of TCU Showgirls. She's gorgeous!
  24. Can anyone please tell me which DMDs auditioned for DCC this year and which ones made it to finals? I'm not as familiar with the DMDs, and I think I saw a pretty large number tried out this year but I don't know who's who or how far they got. I know Lexi and Alexis are former DMDs and I'm a fan of both of them, and I'm just so curious to see if/how many of Dallas's other leading professional cheerleaders tried out for DCC and make the cut(s). Thanks to whomever can provide the deets on this!
