  1. I absolutely LOATHE the chaps the Broncos cheerleaders wear sometimes. I feel the same about the UT Austin dance squad chaps. With the booty shorts, it's too close to women in assless chaps on a football field for me to feel like they're "cute," as I suppose they are intended to be. Doesn't make me less happy for Lily, though! And man, it is very sweet to see Alanna at the game to cheer her on! Haha, yes--Rachel's orangeness jumps out in a big way here! And somehow, yes, she out-oranges Caroline, even though they both seem close in shade. I agree with others that Rachel is not the central stunner in this picture. I posted recently that I thought Chandi was really giving her a run for her point/photo-op status because Chandi is so photogenic and energetic with her dancing and whole demeanor. I was just watching the Show Group episode from last season, and I noticed that Claire totally outdanced Rachel during the auditions. All this to say, I'm thinking this should be Rachel's last season, as she is at risk of being outperformed on the regular. She is a beautiful dancer and hardly takes a bad photo (I mean, even her hair is amazingly photogenic), but I've long agreed with others that sometimes she looks a little flat in the eyes or face. I'm guessing some 50% of that is heavy fake eyelashes that make her look too droopy. I don't think she looks lifeless like some folks. I just think that she is a somewhat interior person who is introverted and therefore doesn't always "bare her soul" when performing like some folks can do. I mean, sometimes she does. But, sometimes she doesn't, and there are others on the team who are more consistent with their performance glimmer and shine. And I'll stop there, because I just realized this is the Former DCC thread!
  2. Congrats to Amber! Re: the Daphne situation, I suddenly am feeling really lost based on recent posts. I just thought she had an untimely knee injury that caused her to bow out of auditions or training camp, but posts above suggest there is more to it. For her sake, I hope not. I am sad for Daphne that she ended her strong DCC career with an injury, and as someone else above said, we'll just have to see how it plays out on the show. Now, not that that's a guarantee we'll be shown what really happened, but it's probably the most we'll get as far as insight on that situation goes.
  3. I think it was 7 years of pro cheer in Australia! Unreal how she performed at that level so long. Thanks for the sneak peek clip of the vet solos! Yaaaasss to Ashlee dancing so fierce! Caroline looked on fire, which makes her being moved back/down in the formations even more of a mystery/downer for me. And Kelsey! OMG, she looked so sexy and fierce. I'm a fan of all three and have been since their rookie seasons. I could get down with an Ashlee-Caroline-Kelsey triangle. Amber would have to be behind point, because I lurv her, too. Claire is great, and I love watching her. But my thing with her as point is what K & J pointed out early on: she looks like she looks down a lot. I'm not sure if it's also smaller eyes or her makeup, but that diminishes her photo quality, which Kelli cares about a lot at point, as we know. She also can look amazing in photos, but in both pics and videos, I feel like she should be projecting up more. I'd love to see her work on that and slay all. Everything else is just so gorgeous to watch with her.
  4. Just dropping in to say that I think the Chandi-Rachel-Ashlee triangle is the most beautiful triangle they've had in a while. All are stunners to me, and ITA that Chandi is giving Rachel W a run for her money in the photogenetics department, because she looks killer in every photo and has so much life and energy in her face and body lines. I still am a bit upset for Caroline, as she seems to have been demoted a bit in the triangle but still is a great performer. I see that Marissa is up further than Caroline in one of the formations posted here, and that is just ridiculous to me. I think she gets caught making faces in photos a bit too much or something, because she has been one of my favorite dancers since her rookie season and when her photos are good, they are great. But Chandi nails it every time, so maybe it is the photo factor that edged Caroline out of the front triangle. I hate that for her, even as I like everyone in the two triangles. (Note: I don't love Lexie and am ready for her to retire, but she saved the Amy-Maddie-Lexie triangle looks-wise and I don't think she should be demoted from her spot.)
  5. Really looking forward to the new season! I love going into it knowing the past TCCs who make the squad this year. There is a part of me that can see why Tori and Ashlinn didn't make it last season--they both had to grow on me over the course of the season and on rewatches of the episodes. I loved Ashlinn's audition video and had her pegged as one of the best dancers, but in training camp, she did not immediately nail the DCC style or choreography and sometimes was ahead of the music. I think Tori is beautiful and I pretty much always thought she was a great dancer with DCC choreo, and I found myself pulling for her to make the team over this summer, but I may always side eye her a little for her ignorance about Brett Kavanaugh and the Supreme Court. (I get it, she is auditioning to be a cheerleader and not a paralegal, but it bumped her below a lot of the other TCCs in my book last year.) Even when the season originally was airing, though, I thought Tori should have made the team over Alora-Rose, and she was the only rookie cut of the summer I didn't agree with. I will not miss A-R one bit, and I am super intrigued to see how they play Alora-Rose and Amanda's departures from the team. I recall an insider suggesting that one of them would be made to look like they were cut instead of walking away of their own volition. (Insert suspenseful music here.) As for Madeline S., I came to really like her presence and thought she would make a great DCC but needed more time to polish her style and up the power. All three of these ladies make for nice comeback stories in some hard times, so it's nice to have that part of the show to look forward to. Question: In one of the season teasers, Kelli is shown telling a blonde TCC that she came in near the top of the rookie candidates and was in danger of really falling behind. Who is that, and does she make the team?
  6. I have this recurring idea that Jessica is going to become fierce and could be a GL down the line. I see a lot of potential in her performance, and I think that she may figure out the glam thing and really shine. She has absolutely stunning eyes, and I think a slightly different shade of blonde with some color variation could do wonders for her glam factor. I think she was captain of the same HS dance team as Lacey, so I suspect, for whatever reason, that she has some more killer moves and fire in her performance as well as leadership potential. She definitely was a blender to me last year, but I kept thinking that I hope she doesn't stay a blender. I think performance wise, what Kat has going for her--besides her energy and her genuine smile when she performs--is that, as untrained a dancer as she is, she has pretty clean lines. Mostly pointed toes, very straight legs with good extension, and strong upper carriage and arms. Those are often the areas of dancing that really seem to keep some really gifted but under-trained dancers off the team--messy feet (Judy would say clunky or floppy), weak arms, etc. I think her gymnastics training saves her on this and gave her a decent enough foundation to build on to improve as a DCC over the years. I think she is very fun to watch and does not stick out as often as she used to for her unpolished dancing.
  7. I think it's pretty common for a major organization to have an assistant or associate director underneath the director. Those positions still involve leadership and some authority, but they also are the people who oversee elements of org operations that the director would be too busy for. Much as Judy has assistant choreographers, who seem likely to do more of the choreography and teaching to group leaders and vets than Judy directly does--you know, the people who get paid less and recognized less but who get the shit done. I've long thought it would be interesting to get more insight into how the DCC organization is set up and run, and I've wanted to see who the assistant choreographers are and see them at work. I don't know if they've had an assistant director in the past (I suspect yes and it's just not been publicized), but I'd love to see who they are and them at work, too. Others here likely know way more about this, and I'd love to hear if you do, but I believe that Megan Fox was shown as an assistant choreographer working with rookies in season 3 (and I always wish we could see more of this with assist. chors. or group leaders), and maybe KaShara and Jenn A were/are in that position with whatever they took on with the DCC after retirement. I would love to see more clearly what some DCCs do with the organization after they retire. Now, to loop it back on topic, does anyone know what KaShara and Jenn do with DCC now, or who the current assistant choreographer is?
  8. Wondering who the latest cut was and if the rest of the vets are safe this summer! I have no real idea of any TCCs but am excited for season 16. A little shocked about Amanda and am curious if her departure will be covered. Poor Daphne! What a terrible way to end her DCC career. I had her pegged as a 2nd GL hopeful for this year. Hope she recovers well.
  9. Hi, @Sydney123, I see that you made two posts asking about Alexis's retirement, and I think most folks here are all wrapped up in current auditions and that's why your posts got overlooked. Alexis actually retired after the 2019-2020 season, when she was a 2nd group leader, so she was not on the team last year. WHAT?? I don't follow the Reddit stuff (especially with all the aspersions about inaccuracies there), but I have read about and seen a few posts from someone who is super enraged at Kelcey (another poster asked about it here a few pages ago, too) for making up some boyfriend or lying about a relationship with someone. The couple of posts I saw literally made zero sense, but it seems they are persistent about whatever conspiracy theory they have going on, to the point that I could believe that, if she is getting such threats, it's from the same poster or another who believes the boyfriend story. I wish I could remember better what the posts said, but it was months ago and I hardly can remember what I read yesterday. I do seem to recall that it involved something about a football player in Nebraska or somewhere that was not Dallas, and either she was being accused of covering up the relationship (which would not be in violation of her DCC contract) or of manufacturing a fake relationship. It seemed like they'd been beating that drum for a while based on the language of the posts--again, sorry I can't recall details or be more specific. I don't normally get "vibes" from posts I read from folks I don't know, especially when I don't understand the situation, but I definitely remember feeling uncomfortable with the level of hostility directed at Kelcey and felt the person was a possibly dangerously angry individual. Could someone with more info on this posting and threats situation please share?
  10. Congratulations on your MA, @Kitkatkitty! And thanks for this list! I agree that Jenn A seems the likeliest future replacement for Kelli on our radar at this point. I would prefer her in the director role over choreographer any day, as I'm not really a fan of her choreo. She's also highly professional, impeccably trained, and a bossypants, so the hat fits well, probably. Whenever K &/or J are ready to retire, it would be cool to see the transition year(s). I'm imagining a more involved on-screen assistant director or assistant/associate choreographer where we get to see the shadowing, having them in on consultations with K & J frequently, testing out/practicing taking over (overseeing events, input at auditions, taking on Judy's job of selecting skimpy swimsuits--haha), and talking heads about how the transition process is working. After all this time, handing over the reins of either position would be a big deal and production. Now, I'm not here to defend Kelli by any means, but I will say that the DCC have risen in profitability over the years and surely are as or more financially viable than they've ever been, and that probably counts for more in the eyes of the Cowboys organization than anything else. They might be in the "if it ain't broke, don't mess with Texas" category, if you know what I mean. And for me, I wouldn't say that squads a decade ago were more fun or impressive, in my eyes. It may have been more fun to watch (to your point) because the many dances they did/still do were 10 years younger (jeez) than they are now, but I still find most of the ladies to be very talented and fit and overall to be equally or more technically trained and skilled performers.
  11. Lovely news about McKenzie and Gina! I remember both vets and rookies cheering her on watching McKenzie in a rehearsal on one episode, and it struck me then that likely was a sign of her good vibes as well as her talent. And Gina has been overlooked as point and such, so it's nice to see her teammates giving her love and respect this way. I tried clicking on Rachel A's post shared here, where folks started saying it looks like she might retire, but all I saw was a pic with boxing bags and "Monday Mood" on it. Maybe I'm missing something? I'm a fan of hers and have been since her audition, and I'd love to see her get 2GL if she stays another year. Count me in for the Ashlee love! And for the "OMG what?" about Armani's dress. But remember, they didn't get a Belk fashion show-training session during training camp this year! 🤣 Surprised that it sounds like Jaylyn and Briana might be staying another year. I'm a fan of both ladies, so that's cool...but surprising nonetheless. Who is the curly haired one near the middle in this group pic ? I don't recall anyone with curls like that with hair that color and can't discern from just the eyes who it is. Like, I can't even guess. Can anyone solve this mystery for me? I suspect I will feel dumb when you tell me who it is...
  12. Fun game! And surprisingly challenging, in part because I'm not totally sure how to distinguish blondes from dirty blondes, especially if most of them have dark roots). I needed a lot of brunette honorable mentions. Redheads: Emma, Stephanie (from Milwaukee), Jaylyn Blondes: Kinzie, Samantha Clark, Brittney Schram (honorable mentions: Amy T, Ashely Nicole) Dirty blondes: Maggie Rouse, Sydney Durso, Cianna (honorable mentions: KaShara, Holly Arielle) Brunettes: Jacie, Sasha Agent, Bridgett (honorable mentions: Veronica Lind, Jessica Marie, Ashlee Ford, Mary, Jessica Alison, Khalyn, Bess, Megan C, Amber, Caroline, Chantal)
  13. Ha--the straight bangs with the crunchy-looking curly hair was a big part of what rubbed me the wrong way about her look! But, for whatever reason, I just don't think she's pretty, and every time someone on the show or boards here would say she was, I didn't understand it at all. And then when she gained 11-13 pounds from one season to the next, I was mystified by how she made it thru auditions. Now, in an effort to connect this to the board topic (though I feel badly continuing on my not-so-nice comments streak): Alora-Rose never looked like a DCC to me, either. Aside from her bouncy hair that Kelli loves, I just don't see her facial features or makeup as "DCC HD Ready." If I'd loved her dancing, I could get past her looks. With Paige, they hardly showed her dancing so I never was won over by glimpses of her performing, but with Alora-Rose, it was hot-mess shot after hot-mess shot on the screen. I somehow didn't love Tori, either, but I liked her look and performance more than Alora-Rose's and I would have picked Tori over A-R for the team. That's pretty much the only pick I would have made differently, based on what I saw on the show (and I *know* that is heavily curated and edited version of camp). I was more than fine with Ashlinn being cut, and I never understood how Annabelle made it to camp, let alone started out as a top-ranked rookie candidate. The cows were the only good thing about her audition video. She is such a clunky dancer, bless her heart. Cassie is adorable and well spoken, and I hope she comes back with next level power and high kicks.
  14. I don't even have a solid reason, tbh. I just never liked her looks, and then there was never anything I saw of her personality or dancing that overrode my feeling that she didn't look like a DCC to me. (I get it that she wasn't featured much on the show, so I just didn't have much to go on, so this is a totally superficial, albeit longstanding, attitude on my part!)
  15. Hahaha, yes! Though I really liked Kashara at point, this is the post of posts to me. I'm a broken record about this, but I could not stand the Amy/Maddie point combo and they are two of my top three my least favorite DCC of my whole MTT career (watching since season 3--alongside Paige--but Maddie is by far the one who just rubs me the wrong way every which way possible). I wonder how Lexie feels about her slight demotion in the triangle? She is not the most technical dancer but she does have good pop and power in that DCC way. I would be very happy to see a Gina/Rachel point situation or really anyone over a Maddie point this year. I'm a little fascinated at how much I do not like her as point and how strongly I feel about her. But, there you go, and as they say, Bob's your uncle.
  16. I'm not a huge fan of Daphne's looks--though at some angles and in certain pics I think she looks pretty--and I agree she would look better with a few more pounds on her, but I have grown to like her. I think she seems like a good teammate. She seemed so sincere yet at ease with Darian after their media test interview during TC last season. I love Alanna and would be happy to see her as a 2nd GL next year. I'd also love to see Rachel A as a 2nd. Since I just named half the 2nds I'd like to see, I'll name my other top picks: Chandi, Amanda, Kelsey--and yes, I know there only will be 4. I'm hoping against hope that VK doesn't get a leadership position at least until her 4th season. And perhaps what I want most for the team is for Maddie to retire. I'm just tired of her, her lame/weird facials while dancing, and her audition routines with the same tricks every time. The Maddie-Amy point combo was the worst point of all time. I want an Ashlee, Amanda, Kelsey triangle! (Hoping Ashlee's retirement announcement was just an April Fool's joke as some surmised here.)
  17. Ugh, Mama Kalina sitting on the sidelines watching and beaming at VK as she rehearses. That did not look like her final pose for her solo from the last episode--was that this year's solo on Instagram? IIRC, she has traveled in past years to an out-of-state choreographer to learn her solo. Did she fly out somewhere to learn her solo choreography during a pandemic? There are a few things I wish we were seeing this season on the show. One is, I'd like a little more acknowledgement and insight into how different this year's situation is. They're doing this compressed training camp in a so-called bubble and living their whole lives there in all new ways. Why not show us some behind the scenes stuff about what goes on during the day, besides MRS working with Jada and Ashlynn? I'd like to see, for example, rookies working with vets on routines or the DCC entrance--I always want to see more of vets working with rookies. Also, I would love to see some glimpses of how the ladies are juggling work, school, and camp. It seems like a missed opportunity to show more of who the DCC are and to back up their endless claims of how totally different this year is. I mean, hello, we just saw that Hannah say she's busting her ass in school, so why not show her working to complete her semester? Or show us someone who does have a full time job and how they're working "from home" at the Gaylord? I remember Rachel A showing her little office she'd set up in her hotel room on one of the social media posts while camp was underway. I'd also like to see how leadership stuff is being handled. GLs apparently were not announced until late and I read somewhere here that Tess and Maddie were unofficial GLs during most of camp once the vets arrived. I'd have been very curious to see K&J meet with those two or other upper vets to impart how they envisioned leadership and team formation working without official leaders. Or show more of small group rehearsals, which I also always want to see. I mean, is it too much to ask to see what a group rehearsal looks like and what GLs and second GLs do during them and what kinds of feedback or instructions they give?

Just rewatched the episode and I can't even with Marissa's stupid pageant tears of joy when she's announced for Show Group. I'll give it to her that she's a real performer, but there is something about her presentation that just seems so...constructed. I was going to say fake, but I'm not sure that's it. She just seems like she's trying to say the right things and be cutesy charming but it comes off as disingenuous to me. And her looks have not grown on me. Neal earned points with me this episode, which he rarely does. I like that he was so vocal about Kristin's solo and that he stuck with his guns despite Charlotte and Kelli's obvious displeasure. And over the years, I have come to see that, as someone above posted, he really does pay attention to the performance of each lady. He seems more focused on that and less on "hotness" when he's judging Show Group auditions versus when he's judging the regular auditions before training camp. He was riveted by Kelcey's solo (as was I and I want to see the whole thing), and I liked that he was cheering her, Ashlee, and Claire on at different points.
  19. Can someone post links to Claire and Amber's solos? If possible, thanks so much! I'd love to see them. And to whomever said they hoped Kelcey posts hers, yasss!
  20. I should have started with this thread after watching the episode rather than going to the episode thread first! All the news and tea are here. Someone posted on the other board that they thought Kristen was getting punished for bringing a social agenda to her solo, and I innocently asked, what do you mean? I did not expect the answer or fallout to be what I found here. I also commented on the other thread (in the same post) that I thought Kristen's choreography and execution looked kind of strange and sloppy, which it did. But seeing the whole routine to the music she chose, night and day difference. She did hit musical accents and I disagree with Charlotte about the dance missing the emotional point of the song. Was it the most outstanding solo of the night? Nope. Was it "terrible," as Kelli said? Nope. She showed solid (if not impeccable) technique, a couple strong tricks, graceful, and mostly pretty lines and feet. If Kelli can bring some unknown token black country singer to talk with them about speaking out and being true to themselves, I don't see how or why picking a song that speaks to racial injustice is unprofessional or inappropriate for the context. Now, would I choose a Kanye song if I wanted to make any kind of social statement, especially one about race? Never. But that is just me and doesn't reflect on Kristin's solo. I'm impressed with Kristin's clap backs online! She is not caring about burning bridges, and she probably feels the organization burned its bridge with her and may not care what they think of her response. I noted that Lexie, Gina, Brianna, Brennan, Rachel A, Lily, Ashlee, Kelcey, Erin, Marissa, and Taylor J all commented on her post of the full dance to the original music. I may have missed some but I'm not willing to scroll through all the messages. The point is, I agree that an unusual number of current DCC are posting in support of a teammate who openly critiques how she has been treated on the show. It's strange to me that they would distort her performance and drag her like that AND keep her on the team. That seems more cruel than if they had cut her, somehow. I am expecting this to be Kristin's last year (obvi) as well as Briana's.

I'm confused on the timing and editing of the last two episodes. Kelli was wearing her leopard print top and Judy her glam red blouse from episode 5 when they cut Meredith at the end of episode 6. So, Show Group auditions happened after Travis Wall's visit and before the MRS rehearsal visit we saw last week? I noticed at some points when MRS was talking last night, she was wearing the red tank and light earrings from episode 5 (like when she was talking about VK rocking point and how Alora-Rose just can't match up next to her). It's just weird editing to have the 2nd half of episode 5 be the MRS rehearsal, ending with K & J discussing cutting vets in general and Meredith in particular, then spend the entire next episode on Show Group auditions, where Kelli is wearing a bright blue dress, then show them coming back to announce Show Group the next night, where Kelli is wearing a navy dress and Judy a seafoam-colored blouse, and then go from Claire talking about how happy she is to make Show Group to Kelli and Judy being "back at the office" in their leopard print and red tops about to cut Meredith. Why rearrange the order of events? I don't even see how that clarifies or amplifies Meredith's story of getting cut. Why not have the Show Group episode before the TW/MRS episode? It also changes some of the context for MRS's roundtable discussion and voting on Hannah, Kristen, Meredith, etc., since it means MRS was commenting after seeing Show Group and the rehearsal where Meredith ends up getting cut. It just seems confusing and unnecessary and it adds to my viewer sense that I can't really trust what I'm seeing. I mean, it's reality TV, so I shouldn't trust it anyway, but it just makes me feel more manipulated than I like. On a different note, I loved seeing so much of the solos during SG auditions and that so much of the episode was dancing. What was Kristen's weird, slow pulsing she was doing with some of her moves? Just about everything in that solo was cringeworthy to me. Some flip over on her hand move with her legs all bent early on, her sleepy eyes, it really was uncomfortable. Charlotte's visible cringe was pretty amazing and on point. I still am interested in whether it was Meredith that Scott said should never do hip hop again. On another board, a pretty reliable poster had said they were referring to Tori in that moment, and I don't totally discount the possibility of editing to their storyline. We didn't see much of Tori in this episode, it it appears that she did some kind of TIN MAN dance, complete with dangling arms and hanging head, and I thought, whyyyy--are you so young that you never saw the whole Vivian Tin Man debacle? We heard so little from Kitty in the episode, but I would love to know what she thought of Tori's Tin Man. I would have loved hearing the judges discuss some of the rockstar vets, too. Feeling anxious about next week, since the preview shows my girl Ashlee flubbing a routine.
  22. I agree about how off Maddie looked in rehearsal, but I feel like I saw the scene with Madeline M looking so off a bit differently than others did. I think it was Madeline who was in the right and Alora-Rose was off. Just because Kelli said A-R was having her own something or other while they were dancing doesn't mean A-R was doing the moves correctly--and just about everything I've seen of her pervious dancing and other commentary during rehearsals gives me no reason to think, if there are two people in the frame and they are doing different moves, that Alora-Rose would be the one doing it correctly and a 3rd year vet was not. Alora-Rose looks like a hot mess most of the time and you can't really see enough of the people next to either of them to get a clearer sense of what is what in that shot. I don't care for her DCC-style dancing and I don't find her face that pretty, either. Just not that into her and I would think that Kelli would love to be able to say a Rockette can't hang with the DCC and kick her to the curb. I will say this for her, though, when she's really on, Alora-Rose is pretty fun to watch, but DCC just doesn't seem her style and I get it. Annabelle was a mess and I didn't understand how on earth she was the highest scoring rookie candidate. They could have cut her the first night and been fine by me. I was hoping to hear the guest judges discuss who they would like to see at point/in the triangle in this episode. I'm really curious about who Charlotte likes for those positions, since I think her opinion counts for a lot. Based on what I saw on the episode, Maddie is far from the top vet this year--but I thought that last year, too. I have a terrible feeling she will come back for at least another year. Re: episode editing, I'm with y'all. I also dislike that all of them getting assigned to groups and meeting the vets (aside from quick clips of meeting big sisters, but I was distracted that whole scene by Lisa's pants and trying to see who was wearing their masks). We are seeing basically none of the ways they are actually trying to build a team and create a sense of group cohesion. Judy wins the award for most glamorous hair while wearing a face shield.
  23. Turns out there was a new episode last night. iTunes already had the episode available this morning, but it still isn't showing as one of the full episodes available on CMT. Since there is no episode thread, I'm going to post some of my thoughts about last night's episode here. It can be moved if it's in the wrong place. So, please note, spoilers below on episode 2! Loved seeing Evan Miller and his positive energy again! It was interesting that he favored both Kelly and Ashlinn--and Ashlinn got favorable remarks from Kelli or Judy, too. I am interested because I can't see yet why either got cut. Meanwhile, Alora-Rose is on the struggle bus and she makes it. Are they just into her Rockette status? She has a very bright energy when she performs, so I can see why they gave her more time, but based on the first two episodes, if I were an unspoiled viewer, I would expect her to get cut. Loved that we got an introduction to Armani and Ellie, and I am enjoying the parent interviews as part of the intros for some of these ladies. I like this much better than the stupid scene with MRS and Breelan and Caila where their parents were giving them pep talks and Caila's dad went all in on his football metaphors. These interviews this season with the parents (especially the military daddies) seem more organic and real, with them talking about their daughters and families, as opposed to a more staged "intervention" that I didn't care about. I'm intrigued by the rise of the U of Oregon cheerleaders coming to DCC--Maggie, Molly, and now Ellie. I still have the same favorites from episode 1, though I now like Kelly too now that I've seen her dance more. I still don't understand how Annabelle was the highest ranked rookie. She is cute but not beautiful, and I don't love her dance performance or technique. Her cows really weren't that impressive to me, either, so I'm just mystified by her being such a favorite. I don't know why anyone (ahem, Sydney) would go to DCC rehearsal without having eaten or hydrating properly, especially after poor Bridget passed out last year. Overall, it was an OK episode to me. Very eager for the vets to return next week!
  24. I think Madeline is very pretty! Glad to see she made the show poster this year, but the picture they chose was not her best or most flattering. She has those gorgeous bright eyes that pop against her dark hair and a killer figure. I also think the picture they chose of Savannah for this season's poster is not her best, and I think she is very pretty too, even if people go on about the size of her teeth. I was glad to see all 4 ladies they chose for the poster this season--nice that they went with ladies who often are overshadowed (Amanda is the exception and I love seeing her as the 2nd year vet they chose as opposed to you know who). I am really curious to know if we're going to find out why the vets were ranked so low on the audition board from the first episode! The more I look at the board, the more I agree with others who speculate that it is at least somewhat alphabetical--like maybe they put the girls who have the same scores together in alphabetical order, with Alanna through Victoria getting the same score, then Amanda through Marissa getting the next highest scores, Ashlee through Taylor in the next tier, then Cianna through Rachel A. After that, I am less clear on what the groupings would be exactly. Amber gets overlooked a lot on this board with people saying they never remember who she is, but her dancing has caught my eye since she was in training camp and I loved seeing her get to share the point spotlight with our beloved Bridget in different performances last season. She definitely is in the running for future point girl, IMO. I also love seeing Alanna, Chandi, and Amanda ranked so high. I am left wondering who TF did not vote yes for Ashlee, though. I mean, what?? She is gorgeous, a firecracker performer, and has strong leadership qualities. I stan! I really want to see her as a GL and in the triangle next year. Here is my ideal, completely impractical, front triangle for this season, based only somewhat on seniority and mostly on personal preference and performance quality (and photogeneity, and hair color balance, because part of me that loves this show and DCC is superficial like that): Gina Amber Ashlee Amanda Kelsey Rachel W Chandi Rachel A Jaylyn Caroline Looks like I'm over the other GLs and am less excited about their dancing than some of the other vets. Of the GLs I didn't pick for my favored triangle, I think Lexie is the best performer, and I think Tess is one of the most beautiful cheerleaders on the squad. Y'all may recall I am no Maddie fan and am beyond ready for her to retire. Also, I did not pick Gina for her photogenic qualities but because I think she is the best dancer among the vets and she serves it every time. I want to agree with others that her look may have kept her from point last year, but to be honest and not particularly kind, that reasoning doesn't really make sense when I think about the two people they did pick for point last season. Rachel W definitely glams up their point situation this year considerably. I wrote all this while killing time trying to wait for the 2nd episode to be available on the CMT website. I don't even see a preview for episode 2 online anywhere or a thread for it in this forum. Is there even an episode tonight? Or did they drop a premier episode last week and already are skipping a week?

    S15.E01: Like No Other

I didn't mean to imply they're not allowed to seek feedback from others--I honestly have no idea. What I meant was they don't have DCC feedback from Kelli, Judy, or the vets (unless they have a connection to the team, which sometimes ladies do), in terms of getting corrections and feedback from people who know the choreography by heart. I believe I read earlier that current DCC Kelsey knows one of the TCCs, and she probably could have helped even on Zoom and such, but for TCCs who don't have that connection, I think it would be very tough to learn all the choreo perfectly with attention to all the small details and precise angles and such.
