  1. Wow. People can be so cruel, it is shameful. Taylor's relationship and weekly letters with her grandpa were about the sweetest things ever to be shown on that TV show, and they were just so filled with love for each other. I was a fan of her and her dancing, too. Hope she is doing well and was able to disregard trolls like that.
  2. The Raiderettes website is done so well! DCC could take a note or two. I liked that each cheerleader had a bio video where she introduces herself, and they do a write up about each gameday cheerleader. They seem more like whole people than as presented on DCC website. Also, I love that their dance studio is open to the public and cheerleaders help teach dance and fitness classes there. DCC could do the same in their fancy facility and provide part-time employment to current and former DCCs beyond prep classes. Also, maybe I missed the posting here, but Jasmine Goode is a "friend" on the new Bravo show, The Valley (a spinoff of Vanderpump Rules, which is a spinoff of its own). I was watching a show preview and thought she looked familiar and found this info: https://www.bravotv.com/the-daily-dish/who-is-jasmine-goode-on-the-valley-what-to-know#:~:text=Jasmine Goode Appears on The Bachelor and The Valley&text=Jasmine competed in the former's,as reported by Us Weekly. Apparently, Jasmine was thinking about/trying to get onto Vanderpump Rules a few years ago, as she was working at the restaurant. The Bravo bio says she is selling real estate now and living with her girlfriend of 2 years. Having only watched her on DCC MTT, I am curious about the reality TV personality she presents (I missed her on the Bachelor). But, having watched the extended preview, not sure I will be watching The Valley.
  3. I remember it so well because I was new to the show and I was so confused by the editing in season 4. Judy bragged about all the vets making it back and then one (Amy) was missing at the end, and there also was the clip of her saying she might have to pull a veteran right before the first game--and then that never got explained who she might even mean. I hadn't found the other forum yet so I was lost about all of it at the time.
  4. I recently watched the episode with the first meeting Taylor's rookie year, and when they shared a "fun fact" about themselves, Taylor said she was an 11-pound baby. Bless her and her mama's hearts.
  5. I think that might have been season 4. I started watching in season 3, and the next year, Judy said it was rare all the vets made it back--but then, Amy R. was cut and there was no explanation on the show. Lots of discussion here about why. Maybe that's the year you are thinking of? I have the same picks for group leaders and I think it's a great group! Not that it has happened *yet, but have there been 3 Black G1 leaders at once before? My picks for second leaders exclude Victoria. I am going with KayDianna, Kelee, Tori and Karley. Obviously, we never got a show featuring Karley, but she always catches my eye in videos they post and I often think she has triangle or point potential. So, I'm picking her as part of my imagined K & J strategy of getting at least one less-seasoned vet in leadership with an eye towards leadership continuity the next year. For my two triangles, I currently am picking: 1) Chandi at point with Megan and Armani, with Jada behind point, and 2) Megan at point with Jada and Tori, with Victoria behind point. It's a great group of ladies retiring. I am more than ready for this maybe-Netflix show to give me new DCC content and feature some of my old faves still on the team and new dancers I know nothing about.
  6. IIRC there was *totally unfounded speculation* on here like that, that there was some issue with her that they didn't address on the show, like a recommendation wasn't good or one of the DCC LSU girls had bad things to say about her that swayed Kelli and Judy. Again, this was all speculation, but I always thought it made sense, because she was such an excellent dancer and kicker and a great candidate for a makeover--just cutting her because judges didn't yet love her look seems like a hard sell for me. Especially knowing how much Kelli loves a dramatic makeover!
  7. The team looks great! And I know Kelli and Judy were beaming that no one even wavered for a second in their lines or the whole routine with distractions so close. I had to LOL a little at the way some of those players were looking around and walking so slowly as they were being approached by and then were surrounded by DCC. They were more appropriate in ceding the center field to DCC than that other player mentioned above and below back in Sydney's day. Guess that's just part of what Kelli was always talking about when she said they have major distractions around them when they're on the field and sidelines. I am very impressed with how good the team looked, but I will say some kicks looked a little heavy (not Jada's, of course!). Yes, the kicker who insisted on staying on the field and getting in the way was very rude! Unsportsmanlike and unprofessional, one might say, even though I'm sure he felt his man-work was more important than what the DCC were doing. Sydney handled it like a pro and I'm glad no one got hurt.
  8. Thanks for the heads up! I expect a show to get better over its first episodes, not worse, so it's good to moderate my expectations. Congrats to Jenna on her long professional cheer and dance career and upcoming marriage. I know she left DCC in an anti-climactic way, but I always loved her dancing and enjoyed cheering on as she tried out for the team. She's just so fun to watch when she's performing.
  9. The episode left me wanting a bit more, too! I can reflect more on exactly what, but overall, it felt like a high-production value but *much more abbreviated first episode of MTT. You see about one count in slow-motion of each dancer per frame and they don't make clear whom the judges are talking about with their comments. But, it was fun and helps fill the MTT void. Now, the Raiders website had videos for all or a lot of the cheerleaders, with a little intro and a decent clip of their solos. I'd love it if DCC did that, especially lacking a show.
  10. That looks like high quality production. Kelli F--you better be talking to those folks about making a new DCC show! I never watch YouTube shows, but I'm going to give this one a shot. Nice to have something to try to fill the DCC:MTT hole in TV world. I saw a glimpse of Kelsey dancing in the middle of the trailer. I never was a big fan of hers but I admire that she is persistent in going after her performing dreams.
  11. I don't know why I can't get quote tweet to work right now, so let me try this: Congrats to the new squad! I *really hope we get to see at least a special on training camp and/or this year's team. I love that Anna Kate made it, and I'd love to see the TCCs and find out what's what behind some of the somewhat surprising cuts. Regarding Charly's cut, I see two reasonable possibilities, given that she was seen as such a strong performer: she just struggled with DCC style like Meredith did for years or she was some kind of ambassador risk/awkward spokesperson. I know nothing about her aside from she was seen by members of this group as one of the most talented TCCs, so I am not insinuating anything. Just thinking that she might have been a strong dance candidate but struggled with the media portion of auditions like Tori or Ashlinn did their first time in training camp. I presume if she had some questionable social media posts like Ava did in season 16, y'all would have found that out by now and let us know. As for guessing who gets center of the photo: I concur that Kelcey and Chandi seem the most likely candidates since Claire was center this last year. I have been big fans of both women since their TCC season and I was rooting for both to be leaders and in the triangle before they retired. About 2nd group leaders: I love these choices! There always are more great candidates than positions, and I had seen Darian as a strong contender. I am very happy for Megan, as she was one of my favorites of her rookie class and she seemed to have slayed last year, going by comments former DCCs made on social media video posts of her (especially the Halloween halftime show). Her musicality is awesome, she seems like a person filled with light, and she has leadership experience with a national-champion team. I was rooting for Megan, Kellee and KayDianna to be the 3rd years to be contenders for 2nd GL. Also pumped for Armani and Jada. I had thought Jada might be overshadowed by other members of her very strong rookie class, and I'm happy to see she hasn't been. I also was rooting for Jessica or Dani to be 2nd GLs, but again, there are way more great candidates for these positions than slots available. This sounds like a great set of leader pairings and a strong leadership group for the season.
  12. I agree that videos would have helped some of the past TCCs to learn some choreo better, but I do not think it ultimately would have helped someone who was cut to make the team. I think that if you aren't good at learning a lot of choreography quickly and precisely, you just can't be a DCC. TCCs like Meghan, Kendall, Malena, etc. practiced all those dances hundreds of times and could not land the steps consistently. (I know Kendall and Malena also worked full time and this limits practice too.) Having more time with videos would have helped them learn those particular dances better, maybe, but that would not substitute for the needed skills of learning quickly and making last minute adjustments reliably. There also are challenges to learning from video that could work against a TCC (or vet) who isn't strong at picking up choreography with precision. There is no one on hand to correct in real time when you are learning steps incorrectly, and by the time they get to group practice, the moves are not wired in the brain right and making correction can be hard. I think the same ones who struggle picking up choreography in the studio likely also are ones who have a hard time learning from video with accuracy.
  13. Thanks for the reddit scoop and explanations--and I'm so excited about this show possibility! I know lots of pilots are cut that never make it to real shows, but I hope that 16 seasons proves to the producers that there will be viewers for a new DCC special or show. I want to hear they're following more vets, though, because many of us want to see more about the vets in a new show. It would be a chance to get to know more about the rookies from last year and "catch up" with vets we watched in previous audition seasons. I would love to see Caroline's sister on a show as a TCC. I am pretty shocked at Christina's cut and would love to know more details about what happened. I only can imagine that something with the demands of doing a clinical masters degree may have been too much while being a DCC--like school/clinical time demands interfered with having enough time to practice routines and her dancing/performance showed this, or with the time constraints of school, she had less time to work out. I don't know what else, as she is a solid dancer (not the best but really grew to a fun performer who shines in her uniform), a clearly loved teammate, and a great ambassador. I admire her grace and am happy to see her team rally around her. That must have been a shocking and big loss for the team. Since I know nothing of last year's rookies, I have no opinion or surprise about the 2 other cuts.
  14. I love this for both ladies! I think both have strong leadership skills, and I am beyond impressed that Daphne will be starting law school at Pepperdine while she is the cheer head coach. Wishing them both happiness and success in their new positions and homes! Jacie always was one of my favorites.
  15. I really hope that DCC has good social media posting throughout auditions and that our social media sleuths share it all here! Some years the coverage is better than others, of course, but especially without the show, I WANT TO SEE MORE OF AUDITIONS. (That was in all caps in case any DCC Powers That Be are perusing here and wondering what some poster who really misses the show thinks.)
  16. Love this set of predictions! Obviously, Marissa now is out because of her injury, so I'd love to see Jessica, Megan, Jada, or Kellee in that 2GL position. Since her rookie season, Jessica has been my underdog pick to become a surprise vet star. I see she got a Barbie last year, and she was a leader on her UT team, I believe, plus was trained to kick as an Emerald Belle. She also seems like an excellent team mate and great ambassador. I am such a big fan of Megan's and I really want to see her in a leadership position and make it to the triangle. And I think she has a shot. Judy was such a big fan of hers through her rookie training camp, even as other judges sometimes overlooked her. Also, although I missed the Halloween halftime performances posted here, I saw a clip on Megan's Insta, and I don't know if she had a prominent position in the formation for that halftime, but the comments from Shelly Mecaslin (sp?), Jenn A., KaShara, and others were all about how she absolutely killed it and made them so proud. I wish I had the link to share, but it was next level praise that makes me think she has risen to a favored status among powers and influences that be in DCC Land. I'm here for it! There are some very strong vets who are senior to her, so I hope she stays long enough to step into leadership and other spotlight roles.
  17. Was just watching season 6 first training camp meeting episode and had to come here to express my shock at Stephanie G, one of the TCCs cut that year (she worked hard with Jay to tone up and had the question about cankles) wore a *strapless dress* to the first meeting. I remember folks went on for like a year or more over Kat's cut-out dress at interviews the year she was cut and was it out of bounds professional or not, but I was not on the boards back when I started watching the show, so if there was outcry over the strapless dress, I missed it. It even looked like the bodice was made out of sparkly stretch material, as in not for work. Thoughts on the strapless sparkly dress for first meeting? What are your favorite/least favorite outfits we've seen on the show? Also, Karissa is in this episode trying to find a place to stay and get ready for first meeting, and she just melts my heart all over again. She just seems so sweet and hard working.
  18. Not sure why it's not letting me quote right now, but these are replies to posts upthread. On why so late introducing boots to training camp: They are custom made for each TCC, so they have to be fitted, etc., once camp begins and then the boots get made over the next weeks. Unusual to lose dance memory retention skills in a year off? Megan's loss of skill seemed excessive, but, dance memory at that level, especially having to learn so much choreography with such precision, is kind of like a language skill: use it or lose it. My guess is she wasn't quite at the DCC level, regardless of time off, and that was the underlying issue. Megan and Emily had similar issues that TC (they even got pulled into the office together to talk about performance quality), and I think they ultimately kept Emily because she was so pretty and so smart. Both were soft dancers, but Megan had an overall more bland vibe in performance and presentation. I remember after she left, Kelli said that wasn't even a hard cut for her! Ouch.
  19. I miss the show too. I also am a bit surprised no one has picked up the show or a new one hasn't been announced. It is nice "seeing" everyone again in the forum, though! I expect we'll see some more retirement announcements--it is only February, after all--but, I'm going to make my first prediction of GL and 2GL. I am sure I will have to adjust it once all the retirements happen. I think, based on Jaylyn's post, we can expect Kat and Jaylyn to retire, which leaves a gap in this year's 2GLs stepping into GL roles. For GL, my early season picks are: Chandi, McKenzie, Claire, and (wildcard) Darian or Armani. For 2GL, I'm thinking: Ellie, KayDianna, Kellee or Tori, and Darian or Armani. Obviously, just wild guessing, but it gives me something to do until auditions or a new show comes around.
  20. Terri doing her solo in finals with her pants falling down remains one of the funniest moments for me in all of DCC: MTT history. It made me laugh until I cried more than once. But his style is cheer hip hop, so it matches Maddie's DCC style and she can actually do it, as opposed to hip hop, which I don't think she has, um, fully developed or nailed down. Ditto to what everyone has said in their love of Bridget. I think she is an amazing dancer and performer whose incredibly strong technique is enhanced by her joy for performance and that inner spark she has. There is just something about her that gives off "truly lovely, good human being" who was always having the best time while dancing, and I found it hard to watch others when she was performing.
  21. I just love Kelee! And since it unexpectedly was the last season of MTT, I'm so glad she was a part of the final season. She seriously is one of the most impressive and endearing DCC to me ever on the show. I'm hopeful for 2GL and GL for her down the line! Thank you so much for these, @MonaMechelle! Those lines were a hot mess x 2, but the videos were fun to see. A lot of them looked really great in various points. Obviously, to each their own, but I really love Jada's all over golden glow these days! With her blonde hair and her lemon colored finals costume this year, I thought she looked divine, and I think the blonde allows more of the texture and vibrancy of her curls to come across on the field/screen. I think her performance continues to improve each year and that she can be a strong contender for 2GL next year. Enjoyed seeing Jada so prominently placed in the Miller Lite performance, and I noticed Victoria's kicks look low next to hers in Thunderstruck. Jada is rocking it and I love it.
  22. And they are doing it soooo slowly that you can't possibly miss that they are doing the same moves. I agree that all of this together (moves, uniform redo, all stars, etc) is getting a little suspect. Sure, styles and dance moves circulate and travel, but have some of your own ideas.
  23. That was always the issue with Courtney and why she got cut her first season. I was shocked to see her in an elite smaller performance and though, of, she must have gotten more reliable for Judy to put her in, even at the back. She just smudges the beat sometimes, not even a half count off, just not in total synch with the music and the group. I honestly don't know how she made the team if she couldn't keep to the timing. I know folks love her, and she is adorable, but keeping time with the music is the most fundamental part of dancing. Everything else about her as a person must be beyond amazing, because it can't just be that Kelli loved her curly hair that much.
  24. THIS PART! I wondered about her while doing the consultations for the rookie makeovers and then for her to be so snotty about Veronica...one of my favorites?! I hated to see Veronica struggle her final season. I loved her as a performer, and that whole season, I was all, Step off my girl--she is trying and still rocks! But, I was especially that way when the salon manager was so judgey, with her overgrown roots and none of Veronica's glam or wow factor. I mean, it would be so rude even if the stylist's own look was beyond perfection! But the irony really makes the rudeness "pop," I think.
  25. Not sure if this was posted already, but it's so cute! Shelley B grooving with Ashlee and Armani. 😀 https://www.instagram.com/p/Ci3nlD3tV-F/
