  1. I am Canadian and I realize that the laws and procedures are different. When I was at Jury Duty, we were asked if any of us were practicing lawyers. It was like the first question in the morning. There were a number of ineligible professions and being a practicing lawyer was on the top of the list. So whoever was, was automatically excused. Therefore, the plot of a judge - never mind what court he is presiding - being a juror make this show drops significantly in credibility for me.
  2. I think that would be too bizarre of an idea. NCIS itself is a spinoff of JAG. A crossover with any of the NCIS shows places our Marines in the same universe as JAG, as Harm and Mac. Then why do we have a JAGC unit that is 100% Marines and one that is mix Navy - Marines?
  3. I just drop in to express my astoundment on Daenarys' confronting Cersei at King's Landing gate. Quite literally, she and what army? She has what, around 2 cohorts of the Unsullieds and a dragon? Meanwhile Cersei has her troops fresh, protected and she has Golden Company reinforcement. Drogon? Look at all the ballistae atop every turret.
  4. Ted Cruz was born to U.S.-citizen parent. Singular. His father was not U.S. citizen until 2005. Trump said that he would raise Cruz's citizenship question if Cruz won the primaries. And John McCain is not a good example since at the time of his birth Panama Canal Zone was an incorporated territory of the United States.
  5. Am I such a bad person that when I saw the scene I was annoyed with the Navy CACO LT holding his head dress on his right hand?
  6. WO Prickett could not be a Raider. Nowadays Raiders are only allowed to wear the 'Marine Special Operator Insignia'. No other badge is allowed. Nor could he be a Recon as he did not wear the 'bubble' (scuba / combat diver insignia). My guess is that he was part of logistics groups that did aerial delivery (forget the name) and whose members therefore did jump.
  7. So two things I learned about 2049. In the future, visitors to a museum can just take away museum artifact without any security measure in place. And I am sad to learn that in 2049 there is still capital punishment in the United States.
  8. You need to count Rob and Amber twice, though. That is four seasons of TAR with ex-castaways vs two seasons of Survivor with ex-racers.
  9. Out of topic: why the name must be River Run? Keep thinking of Ser Edmure Tully with that name. 🙂
  10. Would you care to explain in Art & JJ thread or are your reasons have nothing to do with the TV show at all?
  11. I always wonder, why do we often have ex-Survivor racers on TAR but not ex-TAR castaways on Survivor?
  12. More importantly, the Deputy Director of Operations - or the Director of National Clandestine Services IRL today - who managed secret and dangerous missions involving very dangerous actors, did not have enough measures to protect her and her family?
  13. CMIIW, but I think Law & Order did it too. I do not remember whether it was the original series or SVU. Tom Skerritt was the judge. Speaking of this episode, Oliver did not have tenant's insurance? I found it rather hard to believe that for something not his fault he needed to pay for his accommodation himself.
  14. Once again, Grayson and Bortus killed with impunity.
  15. I know that the real reason is that in TOG days SFX was more expensive and therefore the cost to create the tunnels might have been prohibitively expensive. And that was why TPTB created transporter, to save money from shuttle scenes. In-universe explanation though, this is whole ship evacuation. They could argue that the transporter does not have the capacity to move almost 500 crew members simultaneously.
  16. So I watched SNL where Rose Leslie had cameo. She was as herself, and she did exactly that. So it is really her, not her character.
  17. What in the holy hell did I just watch? Did the show hire any military technical advisor? It was bad, so bad that for me it took me out of the story. Capt Abraham hair was too long. Capts Abraham and Dobbins walking around outdoor without their covers on. CDR Hewitt wore LT rank. Maj Ferry did not zip his jacket. Capt Dobbins wore her garrison cap slanted. As for the story itself, CDR Hewitt took PFC Morehead to the fence line expecting the Major would come to the fence to get him. But there would be big uncertainty for that plan. What if the Major was otherwise unavailable? What if he delegated someone else to get Morehead? What if Morehead did not kill or the Major saw the knife?
  18. Wait, Kitty and Benson strolling together happily on the pier? Is she not suppose to be charged with at least trespassing and assault?
  19. Shepherd: "You do this for me, and when those men come seeking revenge from you, I will be there. And so will the FBI." Gamal is an Egyptian who presumably does not reside in the United States permanently and whose relatives and friends mostly live in Egypt. What good can the FBI do to protect them? As well, what good can Shepherd the convicted felon help? Surely Gamal is not that stupid not to know that?
  20. Well, I am disappointed with the time crystal. I always thought that Star Trek is a science fiction and whatever they do can be explained away by pseudo-science. Because of that, I was under the impression that whenever they do temporal movement in all series of Star Trek, it is because technology in the future allows people to manipulate space and time, in relation to relativistic physics. And now it turns out that it is because of this magical object, with no explanation. Watch all 5 seasons of Hell on Wheels. It was one of my favorite shows.
  21. All the fake science talks is so hurtful as they make zero sense at all. And how does Gabrielle (Dr. Burnham) become an all-seing being? She is the only one in her time in the future. It is not like there is a history book that she can read. Next, the sphere data can be transferred, and by transferring it means that they are gone from Discovery's data repository. But they can not be deleted. That is not how data and database behave. Lastly, what happened with using the badge as communicator? Kirk and his crew did not use it. They used the clamshell communicator instead. Or is it Section 31-only technology that was kept hidden until Picard's time? I am getting weary with Michelle Yeoh simply because I know that she will have her own show later. Just a little bit of her is better IMHO as we are getting the full serving later.
  22. It could be that TPTB for whatever reason likes Sara Mitich. When they planned to kill Airiam they kept her by recasted her to Nilsson and then offered Hannah Cheesman a specific and limited contract only up to Airiam's death.
  23. My question to this affair with the Whisperers: why did they not cross path with the Saviors / Negan before? The Saviors were more dominating, ruthless and less forgiving than the four communities. Negan would have wiped the floor - or at least attempted to - with them. As well, they survive all these years as a group simply by being nomad? Gathering and scavenging along they way? They do not eat what the Guardians eat, so how do they sustain that community?
