  1. With the whole talking down to Maya thing, I think part of it is just people sensing what her weak spot would be and targeting it, because, well, they want to shoot her down. This is a woman who has a less than subtle desire to be part of the Forrester clan and not be just "the help." Even being with Carter, a lawyer, wasn't enough, because Carter is also, in her eyes, "the help." So nothing is going to get her goat more than acting like she's less than. Whether it's Caroline calling her Myrna or Ridge dismissing her like a child. I mean, if Hope had tried dismissively calling Steffy "Stacy" or something, it wouldn't have worked. Steffy would have seen through and laughed at that shit (while sticking her tongue down Liam's throat). Maya has had a hand in imploding a whole lot of lives here, to varying degrees, and people want to shoot her down, so they go for her weakness.
  2. I'm surprised he didn't try to get one of Bree Williamson, Erin Torpey, or Susan Haskell to play Ivy.
  3. So they actually showed a corpse today? Why am I not surprised that Ron just had to go to the corpse well again? Shall I assume it wasn't as freaky/awesome as CorpseNash?
  4. I haven't watched yet today. I can't believe that shit is back. You would think JMW and SC would have seen their scripts and been like "um, can we please leave that shit behind?" Stop, show. Just stop.
  5. I think that's too high of a standard. It's more like "until you do something that annoys or mildly inconveniences me."
  6. If it were anyone other than Brooke's son that was being cheated on, I could see her empathy. Because what Maya did to Caroline is the kind of shit Taylor pulled on Brooke when she decided to spill the beans about Brooke/Bill at a party. But, yeah, this is her son, her immediate reaction should be "poor Rick." Period.
  7. I knew it! Glad I wasn't imagining that basement being the same.
  8. Yes. Through that whole scene, I was thinking "um, who are you to tell people they can't call the police when someone shoots at them?"
  9. There was at least a brief WTD on that one, if I remember correctly, because of the night she slept with both of them. I think Jax believed (or wanted to believe) that he was the father for a brief time, until the paternity test (which Jason or Sonny messed with, I think, to show neither man was the father so that Sam could believably claim Jason as the dad). I may be a little fuzzy on the details, but it was something along those lines.
  10. Yeah, but they made sure that Sonny's swimmers beat Jax's swimmers to make up for it.
  11. I agree, that was some of it. I think it started out as two things - he was the next best thing to his father (who she couldn't have) and he "saved" her. Then I think it turned mostly into a part of the "us vs. them" mentality she and her mother have about Brooke and her children. And then her mother, who really should have wanted to spare her daughter being in the same unhealthy situation she was in all those years with Ridge and Brooke, kept encouraging her, because she wanted the "win" over Brooke.
  12. You're right, I should have worded that differently. As one of those people with a crap immune system, anti-vaccination people both scare the hell out of me and piss me off. I don't want to die just because these people have decided that, for their children, autism is, literally, worse than death, and they're ill-informed enough to believe that their child will become autistic if they get vaccinations.
  13. I wish someone would have held her feet to the fire over her refusal to answer the whole "what are you afraid of?" question. Because she tap danced the hell out of that answer, bumbling her way to "it's my job to protect my children" eventually. Of course, I also wish they would have forced her to come right out and say "I don't give a shit if other people's kids get sick because of my ill-informed propaganda." Oh, and that someone would have pointed out that it's really, really easy to paint a relationship between vaccinations and just about anything, since, when we were kids, the vast majority of kids were vaccinated. So you could say that vaccinations cause cancer. Because, hey, look, most of these cancer patients got vaccinated as children. Someone teach this woman the difference between coincidence and causation. I wanted to smack her when the talk turned to Tuskogee, and she was over there going "exactly!!"
  14. If Ron decides he wants him to stick around as a viable love interest for Anna, he'll just Siobhan him. "Yes, he helped with the plot, but Fluke and Helena are holding his sister/brother/nephew/dog hostage, so he has no choice!"
  15. I have no horse in this race (other than the one named "Just Get This Shit Over With Already! Jesus!!") But, I don't think that rules it out. TG could be looking at an alter as "another character." I think that, on OLTL, for example, you could have gotten away with calling Viki's alter, Niki Smith, another character. He also could just be wording it that way to save Ron's "big super secret twist."
  16. After watching today, I do wonder if they're going with some kind of mental break for Rick. The way he said "I had to get him off my wife" to Brooke was so weird and not at all the same kind of tone and attitude he's been carrying on with lately. And Maya's look when Rick said it? That was some cheesy soap spoof face acting there. I rewound to watch it twice. Caroline, honey, I admire the whole wanting to just end the marriage and be done, but you need a lawyer to look over those papers before you sign them. Don't assume "Rick wants nothing from me."
  17. Oh God, Zarf. I haven't thought about that shit in years, thankfully. I'm going to have to go retreat to my safe place now. Wait, Julian is trying to get Sonny to agree to not kill Ava? Sure thing, Julian. I mean, he didn't keep the promise he made to Michael to not kill AJ, but I'm sure he'll totally keep his word to you and not kill Ava. Clearly Julian needs to get away from Sonny. The stupid is apparently contagious. I mean, seriously, he'll even have the same damn reason for going back on his word to you that he did for going back on his word to Michael - "she killed...ummmm...hang on, wait, her name will come to me, you know, Who's Her Blonde, the one with another chick in her head. The blond half of the set of cousins I boffed... Umm...I want to say Carrie? And she was the love of my life!!!"
  18. Disclaimer, I haven't seen today yet, so I'm only speaking about past episodes... I think that the "just a model" stuff isn't so much that she's not good enough to be in a relationship with Rick on its own, necessarily, but more about her (and Rick's) insistence that she's going to be running FC with him and her delusions that she's becoming the new "matriarch" of the family. I'm not saying any of his family is jumping for joy that he's involved with Maya, but it's not about her being a model but more about the current circumstances and her participation in and enabling of Rick's revenge schemes.
  19. I like Ivy (mostly), but I won't even try to pretend that there isn't a part of me that wants to see Liam propose with the exact same fucking ring he tossed back and forth between Hope and Steffy.
  20. Not to mention that you just know that the writing, directing and performance would turn it into a staple on The Soup.
  21. We were dying laughing over the text messages. Damn. I'd better be very careful about how quickly I return people's text messages. I wonder if Rosa can point us in the direction of some sort of text return time to affection conversion chart. I'd hate to lead on my kid's pediatrician.
  22. I roll my eyes every time I see him (or his wife) whine about how he asked them not to recast and they "betrayed" him by recasting the role. If you quit your job, you don't really have the right to command your boss to not hire someone to do your job if they feel that job still needs to be performed. And then saying that he gave 25 years of his life to the show. Yes, and you were well paid, along with the numerous travel opportunities and global fame the job afforded you (that fame, I'm sure, has made it possible for his band to draw more crowds as they perform now). Had he been fired, given the "story line dictated" line to explain the boot, and he made the request to not recast (because he'd like to come back if they decide to use the character again), I can see him feeling put out. But, he left. He's even said he had no intention of taking the role back, he was done with the show, ready to move on, etc. The show felt Ridge was too important to leave him permanently off screen, so what are they to do? Not recast and whine to the media that Ronn "betrayed" them?
  23. After Paige apologized and, basically, kissed Rosa's ass, I said "and that, friends, is manipulation." Be embarrassed if you want, when you make a pass at someone who is not interested, but it doesn't give you license to act bitchy to them and make them feel like they did something wrong because you misread the situation. And Alicia was smart enough to warn Rosa not to go there, that it would just create awkwardness among their trio, then she turns around and tells Paige she was sending Rosa mixed signals. Bullshit. Alicia pretty clearly knew, when Rosa broached the subject with her, that Paige wasn't really going to be into Rosa, so what signals did she now claim Paige was sending? I was so annoyed that Paige was the one who had to go chase Rosa down to apologize to her. And when she told the story to Nattie, I was so disappointed that Nattie didn't tell her that Rosa pulled this on her, too (so Paige could see it was not her). I had a guy pull this shit on me in college, and, because I didn't kiss his ass like Paige did Rosa's, he spent the rest of the school year telling every guy he saw me speaking to what a tease I was. Well, until he approached the wrong guy (the captain of the wrestling team who had appointed himself my big brother). Eva, if she really has those issues, that's just sad. But it is starting to feel like every episode is some "very special" after school special story line for Eva. And how did Cameron become the most likable of all of them? I remember her being kind of flaky and self-centered on previous seasons, but she seems to be a good friend and voice of reason this season. Brie. Good Lord. I can empathize with feeling some fear after your home is broken into, but damn. That girl is as dumb as a box of hair.
  24. Joss is resourceful. Maybe she booked a flight and got herself to her father, and now she's just waiting to see if/when her mother ever notices.
