I missed the 7 years in college quote. IIRC, one of the cheerleaders said she had a master's degree, so it might not have been as funny as it sounded. What makes Chac Attack's mistake even more mind boggling is that the clue said Rotterdam (which he for some reason thought meant Amsterdam) but they passed the Rotterdam stop without getting off the train. If the Amsterdam stop came before the Rotterdam stop and they got off at it, it would have been a bit more understandable.

I agree that the "family comes first" and "family business" talk was way out of line. Sure, family comes first, and that is why it is unrealistic that Erin would ever choose to go, or be allowed to go, anywhere near any sort of police corruption case, when her Daddy is police commissioner and her 2 brothers are cops. It is a conflict of interest. It is bad for all parties involved. Erin cannot be objective as even if she believes justice would not be served by prosecuting the officers, she would feel compelled to do so to eliminate the appearance that the fix was in. This is something that often annoys me about the show. They create all this fake family conflict that in real life would be easily resolved by Erin recusing herself. If she were the DA instead of one of many ADAs it would be a different story.

Agree on all counts. Justin is a mega-douchebag. He must be a perpetual annoyance to all the people who are forced to associate with him. I am beginning to wonder if he is the Devil incarnate, because everything seems to go his way. I found it a bit convenient that the one time TPTB actually put a big gap between racers (15 minutes per team) at a bunching it was when J&D were in 1st place and it probably saved them from elimination.Chac attack made at least 3 idiotic mistakes, but they handled the adversity with grace and class and I was sad to see them go. I liked how he acknowledged his faults and was working on them and how much she loved him despite them. I wish them well in starting a family. That surprised me a bit because I took them to be near the end of child bearing years. The stupid was truly very strong with all the racers this week. I think Joey might be the next Ted Baxter with his "Hagoo" gaffe. Being a Jets fan, I have been rooting for the cheerleaders all along. I find their voices to be annoying, but they have a good attitude and have been surprisingly good racers. I figured they would ace the Double Dutch as it seemed like a perfect task for cheerleaders. I couldn't do that task in 100 years. I wonder why Texas was unaware of earlier trains. I guess it worked out OK for them as they got to see Paris and it didn't end up getting them eliminated.

I liked the Ford Race and the Travelocity Race better.:) Actually I don't mind the product placements. They bring in money and help keep the show on the air.

I also was expecting the Bulitt Mustang story to be more fun. It was OK, but I thought it was overshadowed by the heavier ticket fixing story. I was really hoping for a more lighthearted episode, as all the episodes about terrorist attacks, serial killers and Reagan lives and careers being in grave danger become tiresome for me after a while. I could see both sides of the ticket fixing story. It really shouldn't happen. But if it had been an unofficial perk for 100 years I think the DA should have let the commissioner know he was going to start cracking down, so he had better end the practice, rather than start busting cops without warning. Any time you are going to start enforcing a rule that hasn't been enforced for years a warning is called for. I also liked that they made the distinction between doing it for friends and family (or little old ladies on fixed incomes) as opposed to doing it for bribes, while also pointing out that it would be difficult to tell who was profiting. Jamie and Eddie ticketing the judge was funny. Interesting how the judge immediately tried to invoke his own illegal perk to beat the ticket. I was hoping he would take a swing at Jamie and get in real trouble.

Wait, why would the Germans bomb Rotterdam? I thought it was in Germany. :-)
-
How was "Rotterdam is not Amsterdam." not the title quote? What were they thinking? Maybe they were confusing it with the Netherlands being often being referred to as Holland?
-
And 152 minus 128 is 42 or 22. And Tram 9 is not Tram 1. Who knew? I don't think even KF could explain the massive volume of stupidity in this episode. I am thinking the producers may have drugged the racers for fun.

I think that would have been a terrible waste of an idol by Wentworth. There is plenty of time to get rid of the Alpha males or other threats. Plus the best she could have guaranteed would have been a 4 to 4 tie between Ciera and the Alpha male after Kass's 5 votes were thrown out. Unless several Kass/Ciera voters saw an opportunity and decided to flip Ciera would have gone home and Wentworth would have been in trouble with the tribe and idolless.

Phil was crazy but he was loyal and easily manipulated, especially by a manipulator like Rob. Abi is more like Phil than kASS was. But, I also think Abi is given to suddenly flip on her BFF is someone plants a seed in her head. Isn't that what happened her first season? Kass has no self awareness and a ridiculously inflated image of herself. She can't help but make a "big move" to feed her delusion that she is a great player. You cannot build a viable alliance with such a person.
-
Normally it might not make sense to vote out a weak player even if that player is obnoxious. But kASS was also disloyal and unpredictable. She will blow up your game for no good reason other than to feed her delusion that she is some sort of mover and shaker. If you consider yourself a good player, you shouldn't want such a random element floating around to screw up your strategy. The tribe was pretty much unanimous in wanting her gone. Only clueless Abi voted with her.
-
Is that when Abi said they were like those things that eat dead people...what do you call them...vultures? :)

Russell is mostly hated though he has something of a cult following. I think he was (for a while) a more effective and more interesting version of Kass. He was sort of like the car wreck you couldn't look away from. Kass has her fans as well.

I agree and I think Tasha is a great example. She is one of my favorite contestants ever. She is a bit "pushy"(assertive?) at times, but she is also very smart, charming, good at challenges and knows how to read the tribe and strategize.
-
I disagree that Kass is disliked because she is a woman. She is obnoxious, arrogant, useless in challenges and terrible at the game. I don't think any men with that combination of traits have ever been popular. Strong, smart, shrewd women tend to be popular. I didn't notice Tasha's reaction to kASS being on the jury, but her head swivel and angry eyes when Kass claimed she wasn't bringing the choas and Tasha was, was classic. Up there with Monica's eyes when she saw votes for her.

On an Island of One: Unpopular Opinions of Survivor
Bryce Lynch replied to Donny Ketchum's topic in Survivor
I didn't mind Redemption Island and wouldn't mind seeing it back occasionally. -
All the evolution of strategy talk seems Ike nonsense to me. If alliances have been more fluid this season, maybe it is because of all the tribe shakeups and a very early merge with 13 players remaining.
-
Knowing Rodney he probably made sure to cross his i's and dot his t's. :)
-
Agree on kASS and Ciera. Disagree on Joe. Clearly his reverse stance was legal or he would have been told not to use it or disqualified. I thought it was very clever of him to think outside the box and find what might be a better way to do the challenge.
-
But Tasha never said "bye bye bayon", Kass said it. She did initially try to mislead Kass into thinking Bayon was not strong, but so what? Are you supposed to share inside information with your enemies? Later Tasha told kASS point blank that she had lied to her because she didn't trust her. kASS reacted by essentially saying "How dare Tasha mess with MY game!" Kass then tried to deceive Tasha's alliance into believing that she had betrayed them, when she knew she had not. That is what I call being "fake", but part of Survivor is being fake. Kass failed miserably in her attempt to turn the tribe against Tasha and was voted out. It would have been by a 9 to 4 or 10 to 3 margin, if they hadn't taken the precaution of vote splitting, so I think that gives us a pretty good idea of what the tribe thought of kASS.
-
The fact that it wasn't clever or funny suggests to me that she really did not know how to spell it. Again, while I don't think Tasha (or pretty much any other player) particularly liked or trusted Kass, I sensed Tasha was trying to advance in the game rather than get even with Kass. If working with Kass was her best strategic move I think she would have done it. The ones voting "chaos Kass" came across a possibly being sarcastic to me. Best spelling ever was the season when Boston Rob won when one juror cast a FTC vote for "Phile". :)
-
Maybe Ciera should have voted "Mom" last night to reinforce what a badass, play to win, master strategist she is.
-
Spencer voting for Ciera had nothing to do with any loyalty to Kass. The 9 that got together to vote out Kass designated him and 3 others to vote for Ciera in case Kass had an idol. They might have picked Spencer to be one of the back up plan Ciera voters because as a swing voter they didn't totally trust him to go along with the plan.
-
Spencer seemed to talk about his grudge with Kass more than Tasha did. Spencer worked with Kass last week because it was his only hope to stay in the game. He quickly turned on her this week. I think Tasha didn't work with Kass because it would have been a terrible strategic move and also because she rightfully didn't trust her. If Tasha had thought it was in her best interest to work with Kass she would have done so. I don't see how any grudges with Kass are relevant to either Tasha or Spencer, other than the loss of one jury vote if they make it to FTC. Nobody seemed to like Kass much, so it is unlikely anyone would penalize Spencer or Tasha for holding a grudge against her.

I hope the dog doesn't get fleas from Kass.
