  1. But Kass played in a way that made it impossible for her to win. Tony defeated Woo 8-1, and when Probst polled the jury, nearly every one of them said they would have voted for Woo, if he brought Kass to the Final 2. If Kass was a good player than Phillip Sheppard was a Survivor genius in his first season, and at least he got to face the jury, and received one (misspelled) vote. It takes absolutely ZERO ability to make it to FTC, if you are willing to be enough of a goat to destroy any chance of winning the jury vote. What takes skill is being able to get to FTC, without pissing off too many jurors, or being such a non-entity (like Woo) that nobody respects your game play enough to vote for you. But at weak a player as Woo was, he would have easily defeated Kass, if he hadn't made as he put it the stupidest decision in Survivor history by bring Tony with him instead of Kass. If Kass had stuck with her original alliance, she likely would have ended up in the Final 3 with Tasha and Spencer, and probably would have been in the Final 2. If she had stuck with that alliance and hadn't been so utterly obnoxious, she might have even had a chance to beat Tasha or Spencer, especially Spencer. Spencer might have lost a few votes with his snide comments (though most were directed at Kass) and his fist pumping and celebrating at TCs. Alternatively, she might have blindsided Spencer or Tasha at the Final 4 TC and brought a better goat with her to FTC (if such a player was still in the game) and defeated that player with the jury. Instead she completely destroyed any chance of winning the $1 million on day 19. Are you sure about that? I thought LJ was on the bald team and Trish was on bones. :)
  2. I thought this episode was only so so. To me the aphasia was sort of gimmicky and it seems like the whole "race to cure the strange virus before it kills the entire crew" formula has been overdone in the various Star Trek shows. I did enjoy seeing Kira go rogue and Odo as a fish out of water in ops.
  3. I hated Blood vs. Water. I'm not sure if it was the format or just the contestants and how the game played out. What I would love to see is "Survivor Exes". Put 9 pairs of ex-husbands and wives (or ex BF's and GFs) on the island, in opposite tribes. I think that would be fascinating. Would the exes work together toward a common goal, would they look to back stab and blindside each other at the earliest opportunity? Would any reconcile on the island? To make it more interesting they could not tell everyone who was exes with who, or not even mention the format. Each former couple might think they are the only set of exes until they start sharing information. Maybe you could even have 1 woman with 2 ex husbands in the other tribe and a man with 2 ex wives.
  4. But didn't the poll of the studio audience indicate that people would have liked the TPI if Tasha or Spencer had found it, but only disliked it because Tony was the one who found it? That was the way Probst spun it anyway. I thought it was funny that Tyler Perry hated the fact that Tony found it. I think the idea of idols with different powers has merit, but the TPI was too powerful. How about an idol that gives you 2 votes at Tribal Council? LOL! "Survivor is supposed to be fun and good!" "I need to be sole Survivor and win a million dollars so I can have a baby!"
  5. This is great! I can't believe people are re watching and discussing DS9, which is one of my favorite shows ever. I would have never found this if TWOP wasn't going under. My daughter (who was about 10 at the time) and I watched (re watched in my case) the series together about 3 years ago. She received about a dozen DS9 action figures for her birthday that year. :). Now I have an excuse to watch it again.
  6. I thought is was an excellent 2nd episode. I never thought Kira was "Ro-like" in the pilot. I think she was just being Kira amongst people she didn't trust. As she begins to trust Sisko and the rest of Star Fleet she softens. I think you see the softer side of Kira when she has the private talk with Odo (who she trusts). I thought it was interesting that Odo sort of made the decision for her, by calling Sisko and telling him someone wanted to talk with him. Agree about Tahna. I think if they added some details to make him a bit more sympathetic, Kira's conflict over what to do would have been more profound. I think there is sort of a continuity error here, in that the Klingons were willing to trade the explosives for gold. In later episodes we find that in that world gold is merely a worthless container for precious latinum. The Klingons did eventually negotiate for gold pressed latinum to betray the terrorists to the Cardassians though. I believe it was measured in kilograms, as opposed to the more familiar slips, strips, bars and bricks of later episodes.
  7. Cool! But shouldn't it go up to 13 to match the 26 hour days on Bajor and DS9? :)
  8. I liked Dave and Connor from the beginning and was glad to see them win. I think a lot of the criticism they received was unfair. Did Dave whine a bit too much after the still childless, green sequined couple U-Turned them? Sure. But, nearly every team that gets U-Turned gets at least somewhat angry about it. I think the fact that C&J and L&J took their side and formed the "accidental alliance" (hate that name) probaby resulted in a lot more of Dave's whining be aired. I also think they took it personally because they didn't realize the the Brenchels were gunning for the 1st place prize for the leg, rather than trying to eliminate them. As for his achilles injury and his age being mentioned so often, both of those things were a big part of D&C's story line. I look at AR as sort of like a sporting event, and if a player is old, or hurt, or a cancer survivor, or whatever, it gets talked about a lot. Also, not all viewers watch every episode like most of us do, so many probably tuned in last night and in every other episode knowing anything about the racers. Does anyone get annoyed with the constant mentions that Caroline and Jennifer are country singers, that Jet and Cord are cowboys or that Herb and Nate are Globetrotters? As for the "quality people" comment, I think it was as much a compliment to the other racers as it was an insult to the Brenchels. And, quite honestly, IMHO, the Brenechels are a lower quality of people than just about every other team in the race with the possible exception of Margie and Luke (really only Luke) and the Twinnies".
  9. I am far worse than you. On every task, I was thinking of how Brenchel (or at least Rachel) might perish. *When they were digging in the desert, I was hoping it was Brenchel's graves. *During the magic trick, I was hoping that, mabye somehow Rachel would not get out of the box in time. *When they were changing the lightbulbs, I was hoping that the scaffold would collapse or Brendan would toss Rachel over the side. *I originally hoped Brendan's parachute wouldn't open, but then I realized the innocent skydiving guide would perish along with him. Later I realized that I should have been hoping for Brendan to become detached from the guide and the chute. Does anyone else think the cab driver intentionally slowed down, because B&R were so annoying telling her they needed to hurry because they wanted to have a baby? I know I would have slowed down, or mabye dropped them off at the nearest hospital maternity ward. I was glad to see Dave and Connor win. It seemed like most of the other racers were also excited to see them win. I only wish that when they hit the mat they yelled out, "Now we can have a baby!"
  10. I am so happy for Dave and Connor that they won the race and the million dollars. Now they can finally have a BABY!
