  1. Isn't it just that it's a typical hairstyle to for a young girl her age? I mean up until a certain age I don't think girls put enough thought into their hairstyle that it's more their personality coming out than what kind of family they belong to. All the clones changed their hair as they grew up but obviously they would all look identical at those times. I mean 8 yr olds have like... what? 3 hairstyles in their repertoires? Hair tied, hair down, braids? Of course that doesn't mean there isn't symbolism but if there wasn't I dont see how they would have made her hir different without it being weird. I mean she can't have it dyed or styled too much; that looks weird on a child. I am really impressed by the Castor storyline. I felt that they might make male clones at some point but I expected it later and I definitely was not expecting Mark to be the male clone. I really liked that until they brought it up onscreen, I really wasn't thinking they were even considering going in the direction of male clones. And when they brought it up, I was soo sure it would be Feilx but I totally understand why and applaud them for not going with the "obvious" choice. Although I would have absolutely loved to se Jordan Gavaris playing with different clones. I totally did not consider that Leda and Castor clones could be related... Interesting. I am still not sure I'm clear on the clones' evolution. As I understood it, they are 100% manmade right? There is no "original", DYAD just mufactured this human being and then cloned that result.
  2. Is there an M?
  3. @DittyDotDot That is so funny, I finally caught up to Season 9 and I had the exact same thoughts of that feeling of reworked eralier seasons with the boys switiching places. I have long since given up on the idea of shows making truly new things past like season 5 or something so I don't mind. Besides I know Dean is not going to be half as mopey as Sam about going rogue so whatevs. I actually like a Demon Dean, just cause I want to see him not give 2 shits about things for a bit. And I like Crowley and Dean in the same scenes. I can't wait to see Crowley's "I created a monster" face. I also agree with an earlier poster that I am tired with all the different Sams. Just having him be himself for a whole season would actually help me care more (at least in a semi-sustained way) about his character.
  4. Cersei just keeps making me shake my head in contempt. I just want to see inside her twisted mind and understand how she has this skewed view of the world. Poor woman lost out on both nature and nurtutre. Yes, her mariage with Robert was disastrous but I genuinely think that it would have been bad with anyone. She is innately unable to truly care for another person. Her vanity and arrogance would have repelled anyone at some point or other. Her problem is that since she takes other people for granted and lived the illusion that the world is here to serve the Lannisters, her cruel and petty side would have come out in her treatment of the husband and anyone around them. I feel like when she looks at her children and Jamie, the live she feels is complete vicarious narcissism. They are an extension of her. I not saying she doesn't feel love for them, I just think it's rooted in them being part her. I really want to see her realise that running a kingdom is not a hobby that one takes when trying to be accepted at the adults' table. She has hekd on to the thought that the only reason she has not been able to show her political prowess was because she is underestimated as a woman... she is going to realise it's because she is out her depth. Random note about figuring out that none of Cersei's children were Robert's; genes that contribute to blond hair are recessive so probabilities would suggest that most likekly at least 2/3 of their children would be dark-haired. Whereas black/brown hair genes are dominant and therefore the combination of dark heir genes on both sides of the familly are not necessary. Obviously they did not have DNA testing but it would be a pretty abvious thing to observe and record I think. They would then develop a theory. It also helped that all the other children Robert fathered regardless of their mothers were dark-haired. PS: I am glad Lena got nominated for an Emmy, not for this season but for the aggregate work of all past 4 seasons
  5. This might be more appropriate for speculation but I am really curious to see what they do with him in season 6. I do think that as soon as he realises he is not dead dead he will try to get back Home. I think he was resigned to die, not live in some alternate dimension. Because otherwise what are they going to show him doing without his (and Bonnie's I guess) story becoming to tangential. I doubt it's going to be that fun watching him and Bonnie trade insults about how to survive in a foreign place... It might be fun for like 40s of screentime. They will probably show what they have in mind for that at ComicCon. I am aprehensive because they could either do a great job and give everyone their personality back or just make it snoozefest of self-pitying and whinging. Fingers crossed.
  6. I was really confused with the creators' plan regarding this character this past season. I still feel like I know the character thanks to EBR but the story lines in the back half of the second season were not exactly character building across the board. Reading the comments about the whole "you'll always be my girl" and Sara saying she is cute when she watched them spar did not piss me off that much. I didn't mind the scar conversation... Like someone said previously, it's like being in a group where everyone else has this thing in common and you're like "oh yeah, me too... but not really" so I did not see it as belittlement. It was a realistic take on group dynamic shift. If it was just Oliver and Sara I don't think she would have said anything but Diggle was also "in" so she felt on the out and babbled. I cringed but I always do when she has awkward foot-in-mouth moments. Right now all the good stuff that brings depth to felicity comes more from the actress not the writing and hopefully with more exposure on her life before and outside the Arrow business. I always find it interesting (but also indicative of how surface the development of Felicity has been) that there is pretty much a lot of projection/guess work when looking at her key scenes. Some people have a totally different perspective on some scenes and I didn't see some things that were obvious to others. I heard some rumours about a potential love interest, and it makes me feel ambivalent. It will either be great (because Ollicity to me, should it happen, is better in like season 4/5 ish) to see more of Felicity. I want to see her with her shields down (on TV, always upbeat people usually have the bigger emotional walls, they are ok carrying others' emotional burdens but never trust others to shoulder theirs). Hopefully the guy will be as smart as she is. I want to see her geeking out. Because I love Felicity...
  7. When I am commenting on Damon in this thread, what I am analysing is the writing of the character, the portrayal and the over all character arc. I am not here to debate whether i like him or if he is better than Stefan (that is all subjective and there is no need to justify it this is entertainment, not politics). So I guess what comes next might be gauche but there is no offense meant and I am sure the mods will tell me if I am going too far. I agree with all the stuff said about Damon not being a great guy and being ok with since he is a vampire and won't change that much which means crying over spilt milk is 10 times stupider. That's fine but then saying that because he is a vampire, he acts horribly negates the feeling that he is owning up to his ways. Not all vampires in TVD or TO act like Damon. Damon himself admits to his shortcomings and the fact that his recent fuck ups are of his own damn volition and that it wasn't great to do it. He was grown man when he died as a human (by that time's standards he could have been married with kids if not for the war), and regressing to being a whiny brat because he got dumped is DUMB. Him killing Aaron only showed me that he was acting immature and fucked up with what it means he tried to do to Elena as getting her back for dumping him. If Damon fans like that then own up to liking him that way. Using his status as vampire to say that his actions are the "normal" for the show, makes little sense when taking into consideration every other freakng vampire in that universe. Katherine has more restraint than he does. As does Klaus. And in my opinion they are way less savoury charcaters than Damon. Rant about the writing: Now his impulsive oopsies just mean stagnation in development. It means that this guy that has learnt absolute-fucking-ly nothing of the past 3(?) years. It makes it annoying to see someone whine about problems they create themselves. That to me points to disorganised writing or the writers having very strange notions of what type of characters and relationships most people like to watch on TV. The Damon love I am seeing on this site and other places is pretty much from before. I don't think I've heard someone say that they saw him in a new and like him more/again. Even the augustine shit was convoluted and had awful timing. The whole someone screwed Damon sooo bad and that's why he is an asshole was covered... Was it necessary to go over it again? It was a case of be careful what you wish for. I wanted to see Damon and Elena together without the brothers' conflict and I got them be so far up each other's ass they don't realise people they cared about were gone. With Stefan becoming their relationship counselor + stupid back and forth that was unbelievable. It's like they thought we wanted the triangle and won't watch if it's resolved. Writers need to have a plan and adjust their direction once in a while if they see it really doesn't go down well with people. They should not waste their time trying to justify established characters we are used to for 4 years. Audiences are fickle, there as never been as much Stelena love since it was obvious that she chose Damon. People (me included) like to bitch. They can't please everyone and they need to decide what's important to them in the character. Because they have Damon saying for 4 damn seasons that he won't be Stefan 2.0, that he will stay the way he is; love him or leave him and then breaks up with Elena because she is ok with that? What the bleepin' hell are the viewers supposed to get from that? That actually the whole time he wanted to be good and just needed a girlfriend to show him the light? Thta makes him a weak minded man in my mind and that's really not cute. Not. At . All.
  8. Bringing this over from the relationship thread I am looking forward to the new dynamics in the team. Although Dig getting a baby might be a pretext to get him further away and therefore not be the best Laurel repellant in the Arrow cave. I am wondering how Oliver's commoner status (if it lasts) will affect the team. That would mean they can't just get away from their jobs anymore since their boss is not Oliver. Also there was some noise about the Arrow being seen more as a hero than a vigilante by the City and a joint task force with SCPD. So that will also change the stakes because each individual in the team will be able to have external support.

  10. From your mouth to the TPTB's ears... Even Laurel's relationship with Quentin was basically her being the bratty daughter who is pissed at her dad for not letting her party.
  11. Was there ever any doubt of that? LOLs. Wouldn't it be funny if during one of their sex scenes there was a zoom in on Jaime's eyes and you see Cersei staring at her reflection?
  12. That reminds me of the Emmy conversation with the main cast and D&D + GRRM. Lena talked about how she sees Cersei as wanting to be Jaime. I understood it as she should have been the male twin since she cared more about all the things the elder make of a noble family should care about.
  13. OK gotcha no problem I just wanted to make sure I was not identified as a delusional Lauriver fan. ;) No offense meant but right now to want those 2 together is wishing for some serious retcon nobody got time for. I don't think Felicity was hurt in either cases and I think she was happy for Oliver when he was with Sara and even liked her as well. I think with Isabel she was just confused as to why the hell Oliver even considered such a thing, she felt he deserved better. Now this is pure extrapolation on my part but I never thought that even with her liking Oliver a bit, I never felt Felicity thought he liked her (romantically). I think she probably ranks her feelings as a small crush she can get over and she genuinely cares about him as a friend no matter what. That is why she had a WTF expression during the fakeout. Not a triumphant "I knew it. I knew we were meant to be" expression.
  14. Oh.. well I guess i jumped to conclusions. Because in episode 10 season 3, 43 ravens leaving and then Stannis decides to go North after no one else is seen receiving them so I assumed there was some kind of interference from Melisandre. In season 4, I don't remember anyone else reacting to news beyond the Wall not even to say that it's ridiculous and that there are no such things as White Walkers. ETA: nevermind just rewatched the episode and Melisandre did not even know about the letter until Davos brings it up when they want to kill him.
  15. I am saying it wasn't fate. Meaning that they are not an ideal couple with bad luck... just 2 people that should NEVER ever get together again.
  16. Can someone even explain to me how exactly 'star-crossed' is Lauriver? Except that it's doomed from the start, the definition of the term is not exactly met here. There was no evidence that were it not for "fate" getting in the way they would be together. There was no Great Power that fucked up their relationship to begin with... They just sucked together. They still do. As for Olicity, I don't like when people from the show talk about it as if it's a thing yet. Don't misunderstand, I am all for an Olicity slow burn. Which is why the fake ILY pissed me off because I did not believe it and felt better when I realised it was fake with the "do you understand?". It was a bit cold and clumsy knowing Felicity had a bit of a crush on Oliver but yeah... So when talking about a new love interest for Felicity I am super happy for her and don't give 2 shits about Oliver's feelings on the matter. The only way it should affect him is team dynamics. To me them "agreeing" that it was fake means they should both be trying to look for that kind of relationship somewhere else at least for the foreseeable future.
  17. So... I just watched the finale today. Probable have nothing particularly relevant but here where my thoughts. I thought it was a great way to end the season. They did everything I wanted to see and more. I remember thinking the opening scene needs to be at the Wall. It did so I was happy. The Wall Jon: weird strategy to destabilise the enemy but I got what he was trying to accomplish. Looking forward to his storyline being less peripheral. Mance: I know it was covered earlier when Jon was spying on them but I liked the show reiterating the reason why the Wldlings were going for The Wall. I liked that he showed pride before Stannis and was less than impressed with "these southeners". Stannis: I will never like that guy. I just can't give a shit. I wonder if it will ever get out that the only reason Stannis was the one to rescue the NW was because his bitch, sorry witch, intercepted all other messages that asked for help at The Wall. I am interested to see what he will do now that the Lannisters have fallen. Melissandre: I saw her eye Jon and I just shuddered. I hope she keeps away from him. Kings Landing Finally big baddie players die... I was getting annoyed with the loss on the "good guys" being so much more significantly damaging. Tywin I shall miss you. Charles Dance I shall miss you more. Cersei, while I liked her tearing down her own line, I just hope she is the next Lannister to die. I just can't wait for her to see the fallout next year. Boy is she going to understand what giant SHIT she is in. Jamie: everytime he does something to piss me off, he then does something to make him like again... I really want to see him get over Cersei. Tyrion; I saw his actions as a mental breakdown. We have seen him be less composed in this season than ever so while I was wondering why he changed courses and what was running through his head I was not that surprised at what he did. I love that he and varys are going to be the next traveling comedic duo. Varys: he never disappoints. I loved his double back when he realises it went to shit. Meereen Growing pains. Drogon is officially out of control. I have been fearing that since the opening shot of the season with the farmer's child and then the bones at the council... Just like with Jorah I don't like her decision, neither do I think she does but the circumstances leave her no choice. It was beautifully heartbreaking. I liked the whole staging and the way she carried the chains; so small and contrite. The dragons crying out were tear inducing. My first teary moment in GoT. Next season promises to be tough for Dani. The tragic thing about her ruling is that both good and bad things are kind of accidental and she does what she has no choice but to do. Eyrie Brienne and Pod: I am conflicted... It would be awesome to have these 2 unconventional "not-ladies" hanging out but the whole approach was clumsy and I understand why Arya was all walls up once she knew of the Lannister connection. Idk why the wolf bread was not there. Some people talked about bread going bad but actually proper bread (meaning not sliced sandwich bread) just goes really hard. It takes weeks before there is mold so... Unless they did indeed eat it. The Hound: so long my friend. I shall miss you and your quota of the words c*** and fuck. Will be in my heart for contributing "Fuck the king" to my top 5 quotes ever. I felt he was goading Arya to make her kill him out if anger and instead she let him die because he reminded him of the monster she hated and not the man she got to know. I will foolishly join those who grasp on to the flimsy hope that unless we see the lifeless corpse there is hope. Arya: while some seem to have reached that point, I am not yet put off by how cold she's become. In this particular instance, it still wasn't senseless killing. I think she let him die that way for 2 reasons I can think of. The first is mentioned above, she felt he did not deserve a merciful death. The second I can think of is that she might have reservations about actively killing someone who had become a companion. REALLY excited to see her go to Braavos. All in all, really axcited to have major players like Tyrion and Varys in the Free Cities and close to Dani. Her story has felt too tangential lately. While it might be a different actor (sadly) I really want Arya to meet Jaqen H'ghar again. I like her becoming a more skilled killer story wise but I want her to keep some light to still like her as a person and that can be helped with being surrounded by people she cares about.
  18. I also don't expect characters to be heroic if it's not in their job description so to speak but I would like to see repercussions from outside sources that don't end up being tied up to the main characters' backstory. It's getting ridiculous now. Serious-fucking-ly? Every supernatural loophole has to include Elena being sacrified or blood harvested? It's too much repetition. I want to see more Mystic Falls versus the world kinda thing. I mean with all the weird shit that happened in that town shouldn't there be more than just one rogue Hunter coming to eradicate vampires? Or a coven of witches that want to "restore balance"? Thta would help have more cohesion within the group i think. I liked the initial dynamics up until season 2/3. I find people that are only about their romantic relationships boring. I am not friends with girls that are all about their boyfriend, I think it's sad. I get that they are growing up but the usual reasons why the HS friendships don't hold have to do with geographical separation or their lives becoming completely different. Which is not the case here. I also understand someone being busy building a relationship with who they see a future with in a regular case but they are vampires that can be in love, living for 1000yrs if they are smart enough. It seems too bad is all I am saying. If you show someone being more romance-centric than have that backed up by establishing a healthy relationship that makes them happy and content on a reliable basis. Obviously where the finale ended makes it unlikely to see the group together for a long while. I want to see Elena bonding with Jeremy and Caroline though. I used to love the character and now I just. don't. care. She was a bit more fun when escaping the traveling morons because she showed more personality in those few minutes than any other time during the second half of the season. I want to like her and empathise with her again. This situation is just not acceptable considering she is the lead female. I am not touching much on the Salvatore brothers because I get tired thinking about them. The writers need to fix that. Pronto.
  19. I like the Starks. Here at least it shows a family improving with the younger generation. In the mong run, I do think the Starks will prevail but I hope that it is the end of their death count. Anymore deaths in that family would just be kicking the poor puppies while they are down. There is enough anguish with most of them fearing/thinking they are the last of of their family still standing. My ranking: Living Starks Dead Starks Arya 1. Catelyn (I liked that she put the retrieval of her daughters above the politics and power struggle. Stupid but oh well) Jon 2. Ned (poor bastard just should have never gone to KL) Sansa 3. Robb (I get it was twu wuv but breaking the deal was dumb) Bran Rickon Benjen? I am looking forward to see how they will be told of the other siblings still being alive. I am sure it will be a slow reveal and hopefully no too little too late situations with getting to them just as they see their kin die.
  20. I get that they would do something like that circa Season 1 & 2 but it feels worse now.
  21. I love Abbie, the character because of her sense of humor. I feel like there are many sides of her that are hinted at and they show promise of expansion. I think the best (for me) way to look at her is a survivor. She is obviously able to adapt very well to new environments and know how to act acccordingly. As she is a witness, it's something I liked observing. I like the Scully references. But I love even more that I can't say that I have seen a character just like her on my screen yet. I adore the way Nicole interprets the character. Her tone, her body language (which is my new thing to obsess over in performances) and her facial expressions are just so on point. Amazing! I love the duo Abbie and Crane. They are just fun to watch interact. They both mentor each other on different things. It aslo helps bring levity in a mythology and horror heavy show. I actually am enjoying their frienship so much that I kind of would hate for them to get together... Unless the show makes it past season 5 or something. I might be more amenable by then. Her story seems to be interesting in the future. That creepy dollhouse she is stuck in will be a well of info. I really want to find out about her mum, growing up and what made her so different from Jenny.
  22. That's really the part that horrifies me. I don't mind flashbacks. But here is my reaction to that: NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am begging you Show! Begging! NO TRIANGLES... Keep this doom device away. Arrow prooved that sister swapping is gross, creepy andd diminishes all parties involved. Noooo!!!!!! Why? Oh, why do showrunners think that viewers like creepy love triangles? I HATE them. ETA: I know all these can be really only there to trick the audience and for once I am praying they are just teasing, I am just worried because it cam from an EP. ETA2: Also, I just hate what triangles have now become. Just 2 guys/girls vying for one girl/guy was ok but the triangles were pre-relationship. A triangle during the established relationship is saying the object of affection is not firm in their choices. When it's a group of friends or siblings all dating (at some point or another) the same person and it gets too incestuous; that's when I put my foot down.
  23. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Season 4 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aria: I'd still like to graduate. Spencer: Well, newsflash! Honey, none of us are graduating. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hanna: Are you going to to eat that? Emily: Yeah. I told you that like 5 seconds ago. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aria: Hanna, give her your cookie. Hanna: You give her your cookie! I'm hungry.
  24. Did anyone else think it was stupid for the liars to leave Shana there? It makes it so much more suspicious to runaway. They should just say there was an accident, say she is a deranged classmates and cite it as the reson why they were in NYC in the first place... I mean the girl did have a gun on her. And if they are not aware that it's now general knowledge that Ali is alive, then have her leave with one of them and have the others stay and give a statement. That was dumb. Looking forward to see Alison back to be faced with the consequences of her actions. I don't know if I believe the remorse and despair she showed. @lorikauai, I agree with you. It feels like old tricks. That, coupled with the stage metaphor and the fact that Hanna mentioned that Ali was wrong; secrets are what breaks them apart, leads me to believe she is up to her old tricks but this time it will be harder to weave her web of lies. Everyone is weary of her and will be giving her major side eye.
  25. Actually I think that one of the things they showed previous to this episode is that people in command of Castle Black take their safety for granted. They just thought for so long that the Wall was impregnable and therefore it does need that much defense. And Wildlings trying to cross have always previously been scattered bands of misfits easily deterred. They got cocky and didn't listen to Jon Snow because the Wildlings uniting is unprecedented. Stupid to rest on their laurels but yeah... I was not expecting their defenses to hold much of the opponent back TBH
