  1. I could be wrong, and don't quote me on this, but I remember reading somewhere that they had to break the news on Easter Sunday. So it might not even have been possible to get in contact with the mansion rental firm, or whatever, last minute on a holiday. Personally, I thought it was a nice touch for Chris to have it in his home, it elevated the scene by taking it off "set." That's about the only nice thing I can say about the death reveal, however.
  2. I forgot about that, but having read the Widow's Guide I was assuming Carole's had based the book on her "dating" Clooney. Ralph Fiennes is so much more interesting. He was so hot back in the day. Now, eh.
  3. Here is my take on the Beadors. I think Shannon is the main problem and I made that decision when they were horseback riding and David asked if anyone knew any western-type/horseback riding songs and Shannon said "NO" right away, then Vicki chimed in with Home on the Range. Shannon's reflex reaction to almost anything David says or does is negative. Despite that, he still manages to reach out to her, hold her hand, put his arm around her, apologize, ask how she is doing. She is lucky he has just not walked away and sent her divorce papers already. He seems right that she needs to be happy on her own before they can be happy together. She needs a therapist, or a new hobby, or hey, maybe she can build a new house across from Heather's to give her something to do. As for Heather Dubrow, I love how her husband refuses to play along with the little story Heather likes to tell about herself when the cameras are rolling. Guess Terry knows that he has to mix it up and that's why he threw in that "you are going to buy a pedigree." The look on her face was awesome. It also looked a little late for Collette to be eating out. She's so young and probably needs to eat dinner at 5:30.
  4. I laughed out loud when they cut to Harry chowing down on the ribs during Mario's song. OMG that was hilarious. Heather has a great voice. Mario's singing face was weird. The scene with Jacque and Luanne was painful. "Shut up." "What a stupid idiotic idea." Jaques sounded miserable. But, on the other hand, we got to see Luanne's westie, who I wish we got to see more of. What can you say about Josh and Kristen? They are both awful to each other. And I'm sure it's a really expensive apartment but it looks very claustrophobic to me. Kristin didn't even know where the kitchen towels were in her own kitchen? It doesn't sound good when Josh's idea of therapy is having the go-between tell Kristen how wrong she is. How are they not divorced yet?
  5. I'm not saying Aaron's camera time influenced the NFL draft. More like it was a great opportunity for the family to show off their big success story son, and it's not Josh.
  6. I agree. Plus, she didn't actually look, uh you know, HAPPY with him when she was being ignored. The whole Josh/Murray family football emphasis is never going away. This is the biggest moment so far in their family and they are probably looking at it as "isn't the timing great that Josh went on the Bachelorette right when Aaron was going to be signed so Aaron could get some good publicity? Let's have him make the toast at dinner so he gets maximum camera time!" It reminds me of the Maya Angelou saying "When people show you who they are, believe them."
  7. Yes, but I automatically assumed that each of them sitting on the sofa were waiting for their own filmed "alone time" with Andi. I actually thought it was going to go there, but maybe they only had one cameraman and there were too many reactions to catch. Fleiss was probably kicking himself for not getting two cameras there. Seriously, I thought they should not have filmed that. However nicely his death was handled earlier in the season, this "big reveal" was exploitative to the ones getting the news. Josh's hometown should be an eye-opener for Andi. First, she had her Grumpy Cat face on for most of the visit, reacting to most of what Josh was saying.I think it was very telling of Josh's manners that he directed the dinner table conversation right away to his brother, instead of toward Andi, who was his guest. He should have led the conversation to be more inclusive of her. He does not really have any finesse, and I haven't seen many qualities in him that would make him a caring husband. I think she knows in her head that this is a family that will be all about NFL football until they are all grey. Every family dinner, every Sunday and Monday night will be sports centered. Every baby gift will be a Kansas City Chiefs or Georgia onesie, they will have the cheifs license plate holder, the flag flying outside their house, etc. And what about his sister saying "You guys will probably fight about this." I don't love Andi, but I would wish more for her than I think she would get from picking Josh. I think Chris' hometown was one of the best settings ever. What a cool guy. I bet he reads too, he just seems so smart and centered. I think she knows herself well enough to know she probably wouldn't be content in that setting. LOVED Chris' mother and the hide and seek. What a fun family, compared to Josh's. Somehow I missed the Nick has ten siblings info. And I enjoyed looking at Nick's dad. I just kept thinking "that's Nick in 30 years." Nick lives in Chicago, so it didn't really give Andi an idea of what her life would be like if she picked Nick. Too bad we couldn't have seen where Nick lives during the day and then drive up to Milwaukee for the family meet and greet.
  8. Shannon's Xmas party looked empty and un-fun to me. It was as if all the "regular" people, who must be her real friends from her real life, stayed out of the way of the cameras, and only the housewives were holding court in the living room "fliming." When they showed the background shots you could see some of the regular folks mingling, but the separation between the two groups looked awkward and obvious. Add to that the obvious tensions between Shannon and her husband and I'd say the party did not live up to its budget. Heather is horrible. I would die if I had to be friends with her. She constantly speaks down to her antagonists in a very Advanced Speaking Skills 222 level practiced manner. I do agree in part with some of the comments about Terry just being somewhat good-hearted, but then I think he globbed onto Heather as the woman he couldn't live without and then I think, nah, that's too big a mark against him to redeem his other good qualities.
  9. Don't forget to break a tiny bit off the fondant bow on her cake on the way out ... she hates that!
  10. I got hated on for being too skinny growing up; people will say things to a skinny person's face that they would think were too rude to say right to a heavy person's face. As if anyone wants to hear their body critiqued. As for G, however, I don't think her current weight is natural. I think it is artificially attained and then maintained through calorie restriction and constant working out.
  11. I think it's too soon for Andi to pull the "exhausted" card. This isn't Survivor, or Amazing Race, where you go without food, or are sleeping out in the driving rain, or driving a stick shift down a winding road in the Alps. I was surprised at how mad she got so fast...maybe Eric was annoying but you would think that, this early in "the process," she would have a few more resources to handle a rogue suitor. Guess not. She just seems like a bitchy, argumentative person to me and not easy to please. I think she's kind of fake. Maybe because she's all hot for one or two of these guys already, and she didn't realize how exhausting it would be to want to get with a few of them, but then have to tone that down in front of the rest of the guys. Who knows, but geez, if you can't have fun as the Bachelorette, what are you doing it for?
  12. Wait, I'm confused? So whatever was on tonight's episode, which was the implant not taking, is different than the miscarriage at 9 weeks that Bill was talking about the other day? So they had two failed Delphine related pregnancies? Also, RPM Steak did not look ready. And thanks for the horrible photos of the snowplows Bill. We are trying to forget this last winter, not look at it again. And by the way, I thought that closet that looked down on their bedroom was an awful idea.
  13. Just want to add that I don't think I'm being overly dramatic when I say the dates in CT probably were the worst, ever? One, it's Connecticut in what looked like very early spring, cold, windy, everything still stark and dead after the gawd awful winter we all lived through. And they left CA for that? Then, the dates! An old train running through some suburban backyards starring the winner of the "Contestant with the most truly sad and pathetic back story ever" (also the winner of the Too Soon award as well). Next, let's go to a basketball court and throw some balls around. Whoopee!! For guys, I guess that was great. Next date, Andi gets pushed off the top of building on a really cold and windy day. Finally, the stay is topped off by getting into an ugly argument with a poor guy who dies not too long afterward. I think the whole trip to CT is one that Andi probably wants to forget.
  14. My impression of Ryan is that he is watching himself very very carefully this year whenever the cameras are on, and it is just killing him to hold it in. Brianna's wacky smile is because she knows Ryan is playing nice for the cameras after painfully learning his lesson that the microphones are everywhere after last season's debacle with Lydia's mom. I really think Brianna and Ryan probably considered not fliming with Ryan again but decided that, for the sake of the money that Brianna gets from filming, he would continue to film. I think they want to prove in this season that he is not as bad as he came off last year. However, he still is as awful a human as we saw last year and that bad attitude still seeps out, but at least he has held his temper, which they probably consider a "win" on their end. And lost in the conversation over lamb fries was the fact that Brianna has to have a scheduled C-section? At that point I kind of actually understood why Vicki was campaigning for her to have the baby in CA with her own doctors and where Vicki could definitely help out for the first two or three weeks post-delivery. I know Vicki has her flaws but I think having your own doctor and your own mother around for that is a good idea. We'll see what actually happens when the time comes but I would not be surprised to see her having the baby in CA afterall. Okay, if I got Heather's Christmas Card with her slit dress and her leg front and center I would be pulling it out and laughing at it and showing it to anyone who stopped by the house during the season. What a showoff. And yes, I am sure CoCo understood what Heather meant when she told her to "relax her mouth" for the camera. I would avoid Heather at all costs in real life, but on this show her segments are probably my favorite (second to Shannon), due to her unbridled snobbery. I love Shannon because I do not think anything about her is an act. She isn't pretending to have the best marriage, she loves her children in a normal enough way (not overly braggy but not downing them either). I think Shannon is a walking bundle of easily hurt feelings, which is perfect for the show.
  15. The love letter and the flower delivery make me think that part of the pre-filming pep talk from the producers this year included "Feel free to step out of the box and do romantic gestures for Andi as if she was a girl back home that you were interested in!" So, I guess in the future we will be seeing a balloon delivery, some kind of singing telegram, a box of chocolates, and any other cliche romantic gestures that the producers can convince the stooges to pick as their "romantic gesture." Me too. Has any Bachelorette contestant in the history of Bachelorette-dom ever done anything as amazing as that half-court shot? And he was so humble about it. Way to impress! He and Marquel are battling it out for first and second favs in my book too. Okay, Dylan is just too sad to be on this show. I felt worse for him than for Eric last night. As for Eric (God rest his soul) and Andi, eh, neither of them handled that conversation right. But I was really surprised at how fast Andi flipped on him. I think Andi thinks its endearing and a crowd pleaser when the Bachelorette flips out on the guys, ala Emily's righteous indignation when Kalon called Little RIcki baggage, or when she went off on Juan Pablo. But I think Andi has a major bitchface lurking underneath her poker face all the time and it doesn't take much to set her off. So far, I'm still not liking her. And ABC still can't get anything right. I thought it was very sensitive to cut to Chris Harrison after Eric's departure; then the sensitivity went downhill with Andi (Grumpy Cat) sitting there having to put her two cents in about losing a "member of the family." I am just sure Eric's grieving real family loved how ABC hung on to that terminology for someone they hardly knew. A few simple words from Chris would have been enough. However, I didn't see why the Rose Ceremony had to be cut, but then they can cue the blaring promo of "IN TWO WEEKS ON THE BACHELOR!!!!!" I mean, when Game of Thrones ends one of their patented shocking episodes they maintain the shock and awe by airing the closing credits with no background music. ABC should have just faded out and skipped the preview if they wanted to maintain some modicum of respect.
  16. The horrendous singing actually made me look up from my laptop and pay attention to the show last night. Also thought the "old people" dress up was another good gag, although they should have made them bungee jump or rappel down a building dressed like that for extra laughs. I liked JJ as the old geezer; I thought he really went with it, despite the fact that not only did they make him bald and white haired but they looked like they gave him a skin disease on top of everything, like his eyes were bleeding or something. Still not liking Andi very much at all. And are these the cheapest dates ever? Going to the beach; bike riding, hiking, walking around a park, dinner at a courthouse? WTH?
  17. The People Magazine website has a story today that Delphine miscarried their second baby at nine weeks. The People article fails in providing important details, such as when did this miscarriage happen? Recently, or a while ago? Are the Rancics releasing the information as it happens, or have they known for a while and are just releasing the news now to promote their show? I'm wondering if this second surrogacy used their last fertilized egg? Or did they have some more stored up? I feel sorry for them for the miscarriage, and the dashed hopes, but I still am amazed at how much they leave Duke behind and never bothered to change their lives for him.
  18. Hi PTvers! Thought I would make my first post here to show the suits and money crunchers that they may have taken our TwoP from us, but the snark will always find a way to live on. I don't have much to add about this episode because it contained two things that I always FF through: sad things about dogs, and George. But, I did enjoy the scene with Carole and Ramona together. However, I'm confused. I thought Carole already had an assistant? Didn't they show her with some good looking guy in her apartment that she introduced as her assistant a couple of episodes ago? And if so, why can't she keep her fake story lines straight?
