Getting to Genoa You All Over Again: Y&R Daily Chat

Love him! Halloween mugs at Crimson Lights? Have we seen these before? I adore the Christmas mugs they use. I wish soaps would keep the Halloween decorations up for longer than a day. Over on B&B, the decorations at II Giardino were great, too (thanks, Sheila). -
Her whispered "I'll miss you the most" to BL made me tear up. And I have a heart of stone when it comes to soap sappiness.

Gave me "Twilight Zone" vibes-- always a good thing.

So FX used to have this annoying issue where if you didn’t catch a 60+ minute show during its 10 PM premiere and instead tried recording a later rerun, you’d often end up with the last 10 minutes of the first episode, most of the reaired one, and then the recording would just cut off. This happened to me multiple times with AHS over the years, and... it happened again with this episode. My recording opened with the Lois/Megan fight. Some of the monologues and dialogues are getting too long, and I’d been fast-forwarding through them. I do love Nicholas Alexander Chavez, though, so I might just record the final episodes to catch his scenes.

Really liked Best Friend's House. Certain scents—like specific perfumes or flowers—still bring me back to my neighbors' house, where I spent countless summer afternoons playing in the early ‘90s. The singing furniture was a bit hokey, but when the dad's line, “She hears them, too!” was clever. And hate to say it, but a lot of the thriller books I read have a similar vibe-- evil lurking evil is right under the main character's nose. -
My NY ABC affiliate ran an episode of Tamron at 3 on Thursday. Guess I'll catch this episode on Hulu.

I've been watching B&B for 15 years, and I can't recall an episode where Katie doesn't cry. Poor Heather Tom must be exhausted. It makes Katie seem unhinged. Imagine having a friend/relative who cries every time you're together... Lindsay Hartley did the same on Passions (and maybe during her short stint on Days, but I can’t remember), then on the AMC reboot, and now she’s doing it when she's subbing in as Sam on GH. It's a lot (though I do love her). Isn't there another soap actress currently who's crying in every episode and has been for awhile? Who am I forgetting?

I'll dabble in anything Ryan Murphy. It definitely has that "Se7en" feel to it, which I like, and watching these two episodes made me remember how much I love Niecy (especially in Reno 911!, Scream Queens, and Claws). I'm getting a double dose of Nicholas Alexander Chavez between this and Monsters. For the past four years, I've watched him act circles around the cast of General Hospital (no shade on soaps, I love the genre dearly), and I am super happy to see him in these larger productions.

And no lie, I just saw an ad for Alka-Seltzer. Is it permissible to remove the vegetables from the pizza, ditch the pizza, and try to make a lackluster crudité?

I guess the makeup department isn't covering up JT's Canadian goose tattoo anymore? Christel's back tattoos are now visible in some of her outfits, too. -
Sometimes women who don't have a constant male father figure in their lives while growing up seek romantic relationships with older men. It's about gaining acceptance and love from someone older since they were craving that when they were a child and never received it. Don't mind me-- I hate-listen to Dr. Laura daily 😆

I'm just happy we get Days every weekday, regardless of it is a holiday or not. The whole "Body and Soul" plot is ridiculously farfetched, but I'm fine with it. Days was the #10 most watched last night (Sunday night), when usually it falls off the Top 10 during the weekend. I was glad to see that. I'm hoping the premiere of The Gates on CBS will reinvigorate the interest in soaps. A girl can dream, right?

Not sure if this was already mentioned, but I rolled my eyes at Kristina, who had major abdominal surgery what, two, three weeks ago, lift a heavy metal gun safe. [Insert Sure, Jan meme]

Not gonna lie, I think about the "Tiny Bubbles" segment from 20+ years ago several times a year. I'd never heard that song before and haven't heard it since.

I just finished my rewatch, courtesy of Peacock. This show is a gem, with songs I can't get out of my head. Yes, a little far-fetched and cringy in some respects, but I greatly enjoyed it. My son's school put on Newsies this past winter and I became a bit obsessed with JJ, who I wasn't familiar with at all when I first watch Smash over a decade ago. I remember not liking his character on Smash because he had such an attitude. Now knowing he was filming Smash while performing on Broadway makes me think he really brought Jack Kelly with him to filming!

Like Sand Through an Hourglass: Behind the Scenes of DOOL

The show is in the Top 10 most watched shows every weekday on Peacock-- usually between numbers 5-10 (yesterday or the day before, it was #5). It falls off the Top 10 during the weekend but comes back on Monday. -
I liked Miguel, so I will miss him on the show. Interesting that JLC's recording just said the relationship, no heartfelt message like the other relatives. May have been time restriction/editing, though...
