  1. I really hate to say this, because it is so cliche, but I do not want Korsak to end up with Kiki, I want him with Angela. The actors have good chemistry.
  2. I wasn't fond of the addition of Santiani, but I grew to like her within the ensemble. She was a nice buffer to the constant interactions between Laura and Jake. Her little references to her son here and there, and then dying, made it extra depressing.
  3. How much did I love Isabela tagging along to save Ana! Words cannot express. I am constantly trying to turn people on to this show. I was even dismissed by someone at a dinner party because I said this was my favorite show. I wish Telenovela would get some buzz, because I really need it to come back! Cliffhanger! I even was being obnoxious during Rizzoli and Isles because Amaury AKA Rodrigo was on it as a serious character, and I kept comparing him to his far superior Telenovela character.(Although he was awesome as a love interest too) There's some pretty tough competition with Supergirl and X-Files, unfortunately.
  4. My husband came in on the end of this episode, having never seen the show before. He was laughing not even knowing the plotline, and interested. Trust me when I say telenovelas turn him off. I can't even get him into Jane The Virgin. I think Telenovela has so much potential, but I'm not sure it's been promoted the best. It has enough broad comedy that it could appeal to a lot of different people.
  5. I was curious as to how long Erika Jayne had been around, and on the Wiki page for her, it indicates Erika Girardi went to a school for performing arts in Atlanta. I'm guessing Erika went to LA for career reasons, and was doing the "wait tables and audition route." She didn't give up her dream, I give her props for that.
  6. My take on Erika and her husband was he was a long time regular where she worked. He is known to be respectful and I would bet he treated her very well. I can see that charming her, leading to her make a move on him. I have always been taught to gauge a man by how he treats those waiting on him -that's why when I was dating I preferred to go to places early on that would test that theory.
  7. I felt there was a rare genuine moment under the tick comments. People often joke about things they fear to seem like they really aren't bothered . None of them doubt she is sick, and even if it seems crazy that a tick caused it, there might still be fear deep down just in case. I kind of felt that was the most real the whole night was. Less fake than the confrontations for sure.
  8. I love this show, it is so cute and campy in a fun way. The fire started by Ana 's wig ending with the telenovela carry was fabulous, but the best part was the two of them eating popcorn and watching the security cameras.
  9. I thought last night was cute, and gelled much better. I'm glad they're at least giving this show a shot, because it really has potential once the kinks are ironed out.
  10. I wonder if Yolanda will still have unusual treatments now that she's no longer able to access a private jet at will.
  11. I find myself hoping this show will grow some serious legs now that the kinks are beginning to work out. The terrible singing, the gasp sequence, it all gelled. It gives me hope that people will wander into this show now that they've dropped Jimmy as an idiot father and made him just an amatuer but very enthusiastic father. It works much better this way.
  12. I get you, Julia. It's my own love/hate argument in my head. It's wrong on too many levels for my comfort, and I worry about people using this as an excuse in real life. Ultimately, though, I'm thankful it's fiction, because in real life I would want to put laxatives in his box of chocolates.
  13. I'm with everyone else that it seriously sucks the show decided to make Jake a cheater. However, dang Josh Lucas is so frickin charming that I can't hold it against the character. I really, really believe he is repentant. Ugh. It pains me to type this, but I want him to win Laura over. And then I want to shower because I know there will be someone out there somewhere who will forgive a cheater from this. Thank goodness this is fiction.
  14. I'm not mad at Sara because Jimmy isn't. It was a little sad and uncomfortable, but how I did love the farmer with the dead beets song. I was a little squicked that the child actors were listening and singing along about "deadbeats", but I guess at least they're not covered in blood and doing American Horror Story.
  15. I'm really glad the pregnancy reveal happened in one episode.
  16. I guess what I am really enjoying about this show is that Jimmy is a nice guy. He could have been resentful or nasty to Sara, but instead is embracing it wholeheartedly. There are real life Geralds and Jimmys out there, nice guys who really aren't dark. Shows, even comedies, always want to add darkness somewhere. Not everything has to make you think, not everything has to be serious. Everyone can use a little light hearted fluff after a hard day. I say this as an educated person who could have watched the debates instead. My job is dealing with stressed out people, and it can do a body a world of good just focusing on something happy or light.
  17. I really love these characters. Tonight especially seemed to flow really well.
  18. It's definitely more action packed in one minute than I had hoped.
  19. What was with Jake going to the private room to take a pill? Are we going into a health crisis for him now, with that and the upped insurance thing? Or did I misread a scene completely?
  20. I'm so glad to see many people here who think like me. When the show started I said to hubs,"Oh look! It's Agent Tiny Eyes!." The man who watched all seasons of Cougar Town with me looked like I had lost my mind. I'm in for now, but I am getting a Dynasty crossed with Criminal Minds vibe. While I will watch either one if nothing else is on, I don't go out of my way for it.
  21. I think I can put my finger on what's been bothering me about this show. I have no sense of impending doom for these people. At all. Just a laundry list in my head who can die first.
  22. I hated the addition of the new boss, although I have vague feelings of maybe liking the actress in something else. I am hopeful my instincts are correct and the actress playing the boss can be very likeable. I told hubs I could tolerate this change if they paired off Jake and Laura as partners(and then they did). Laura is very annoying when she steamrolls people(sometimes even Soto, although not as much with him). Since Bose and Soto are adorable together(and are often paired posing as a couple), I'm okay with this. Jake doesn't let Laura steamroll him. He fights her, and does things his own way. Whether they get back together or not, he really does reign her in a bit, or since I hate the idea of a strong woman being reigned in, at least he's a good counter to her energy.
  23. I just thought of a bit of hope-maybe someone left an outfit that actually fits and is age appropriate at the hospital for Nick so someone can burn the darn old man clothes!
  24. I think the best summation for me was further up this thread. I.HATE.THESE.PEOPLE. I want to love this show-I really do. Jericho:main character Jake was shady, but when shit hit the fan he was heroic. Rick of the mothership: he was a good person trying to stay good, does both nasty and heroic things to keep his family safe. I find none of these people good except Travis and his ex-wife, but neither one of them compel me. The ex-wife is helping people, but she grates. I get she's gone from dawn to dusk helping out people-but if she hasn't even let on to all of the adult people she's living with what she's doing, I can't really get behind her. You have a contentious relationship with the new woman in Travis's life, you're staying with them, use some courtesy even if Madison is a twit. The ex would become more sympathetic to me, and I'd root for Madison to get bitten. Travis is as close to a Rick as we get, they talk about him being the de facto mayor. I see him jogging in a runners stupor. I do that all of the time and couldn't begin to tell you who I pay attention when I'm zoned out with the headphones. There's no way he's out checking on people, etc, if he's finding time to work out. I'm going by the ex being gone all day-if there are that many injured and sick then Travis would be completely preoccupied with his "mayoral" duties. Which is it, show? Is the safe zone full of people or not? You can't have two characters taking care of the neighborhood in administrative ways and health wise, but have each one occupied different amounts of time. It's either all consuming or not. It makes me think the ex is out yes, taking care of people, but also avoiding the house and her kid. I get she trusts Travis to take care of his own son, but by all accounts the kid isn't getting much attention. Does that make sense?
  25. Perhaps we are going to find out this is a shady government hush up(nothing on the news), and there will be an exciting conspiracy subplot. Wish in one hand?
