  1. They love it when fosters adopt the dog. It usually makes their newsletter or Facebook page in a good way!
  2. Rescues around here are always begging for fosters. I would check Facebook out and ask around. There are way more dogs needing foster homes than homes needing foster dogs. They are very good about setting people up with the resources to foster too.
  3. My take away from this whole episode was Andy continuously telling Brandi he was defending her, and her fighting him on that! As padded as the questions were towards pro-Brandi, I expect Andy will let her slide. Again. And I need that lighting in my life. If Yolanda was as sick as I perceived her to be, she still looked fabulous.
  4. Ah, Marshal Marshall. How I loved In Plain Sight. I squeed when I saw Frederick Weller onscreen. Then I asked when Longmire starts up again. If I can't have both Wellers on my screen full time, one is better than none. Young Abe was perfection, while we have seen Judd Hirsch onscreen that age, you could really imagine Abe looked like that as a young man.
  5. Because the expectation is that Daddy's girl just expects to be treated well, while Mommy's boy can't do anything for himself?
  6. My rescue advice might sound a bit selfish. I adopted two older dogs because I have a very soft, squishy heart. However, I have a loud granddaughter who sounds like a Klingon, and a grandson who loves to act out wars noisily, both kiddos under 6 yrs. My puggle, sweetheart that she is, was 6 when we adopted her a year ago. She was a breeder rescue who was horrifically abused. She was the last dog out of 125 rescued and was at the shelter the longest. She used to be the dog they presented at class field trips and was wonderful with children. She has gone after the two screech monkies a few times. We've mostly trained it out of her, but they terrify her when they start their racket. Our boxer, who was adopted at about 10 months, despises the screech monkies dad. As in they've tussled a few times. He is ex-military and very intimidating. She's a good dog, but I am extremely watchful when the kids are around. Our dog trainer suggested not to adopt dogs older than 6 months when you have the possibility of small children around. I adore my dogs and have spent a fortune training them, but if I got another dog any time in the next few years, I would get a puppy and socialize the heck out of them. Just my two cents. I'm not an expert.
  7. EVS, I flove that story. Sounds like you lost quite a gem of a friend. As I sit here surrounded by my stubborn, pain in the behind rescues I flove the people on this board too. I guess we're all attracted to this show because we're used to feral beasts.
  8. If the show is cancelled, I thought this was a lovely ending to the series. Henry found out he did not actually cause the death of the slaves. He gave his son more details from his past lives. Very nicely done.
  9. I really hate to defend Kim, but I'm not sure she's really able to catch onto the little clues that Brandi may not be the best for her. Even Brandi is telling and showing her this, but Kim's brain is not receiving the message. Brandi, sick dad or not, is in LisaV's personal space flipping out again. Good for LVP-she didn't allow that to rattle her, and stuck to her guns. No softening, no leeway. I could take a course from Eileen on interpersonal relations, and a lesson from LVP saying no and meaning it.
  10. So with the end in sight, anyone going to stroll on over to the OC once that airs? It was my first <3. I got to see people over 20 on my tv screen, since at the time(ironically) Paris Hilton was hot and most shows skewed really young. I just haven't been able to cut ties with RHOC yet. I'm going to miss this group!

    S05.E15: Try

I just can't get a handle on our ASZ Janeway here, Deanna. I alternate between thinking she hates that she brought in CDB, but then she turns around and acts the opposite way. I don't care for Rick right now, and I suspect it's not going to get better. He began solving his problem the right way, but just blew it with his raving lunatic speech. I love this show, and have never even thought about turning it off until the beginning of this episode. The music montage played quite a few moments too long.
  12. Persnickity, glad you're still with us.
  13. Good luck to you and your husband, prettybird.
  14. I'm the person who spills something-water, coffee, powdered sugar, as soon as I get dressed. I feel everyone's pain here with the sleeves.
  15. Personally I can do without "truth cannon", "getting real', or "telling it like it is". I'm sure we'll hear those phrases numerous times.
  16. I can't say too much about how the faces look at the reunion. I've noticed since season 4 of RHOC that the reunion lighting is meant to "flatter". To me it makes everyone look a bit waxy and weird, even Andy.
  17. In defense of LisaR's 20 year old hairdo-I am now a fitness professional, but I was a cosmetology teacher and a cosmetologist for many moons prior. LisaR's hair, to me, is on the same level as Farrah Fawcett's and Jennifer Aniston's. LisaR had that hairstyle specifically tailored to her hair and face shape . It was cut that way at a time long before flippy dos were trendy. As with Yolanda and her love of teal, jewel tone blues and purples, and silver, with the platinum blonde hair, this is LisaR's signature. LisaR knows it works for her. She has played with longer hair and different color but this is what works for her. While Jennifer Aniston distanced herself from her iconic do, Farrah always had some version of her signature style. She updated it with volume and more curl in the 80's and less volume during the 90's, but the signature style was always hinted at. LisaR's hair was a salon request for years. I would never had known who she was if numerous clients hadn't come in with a picture of Lisa wanting her haircut.
  18. I loved Holland, loved the shots of Palm Springs, and also the little snippets of the ladies BH's day-to-day stuff. This was a good episode if you take away the infighting. I do think we need a break from the non stop fabulousness, but this particular fight is over, done, played out.
  19. Isn't there old footage somewhere from ET showing Big Kathy in her final months? I remember a younger Kim, and her daughters, jumping on the bed while ill momma Kathy is laying there. That should show which house it was, right? It resurfaced on the Internet when the limo scene happened.
  20. Until I read this I thought the hat was white! Thank you so much for pointing this out! Freaky.

    S05.E13: Forget

Not to beat a dead horse, but I too am disappointed Rick is going there with Jessie. I'm not typically a shipper, but I do love the familial chemistry Rick, Michonne and Carl have. It's so disappointing to think they're going to break away from my favorite family unit. Rick also disappointed me with the whole "claim" crap that happened at the end when he saw Jessie with her husband. I understand life isn't perfect, and things don't have to be boxed just so, but if they can make so many changes to the original story, why can't they use the chemistry that Michonne and Rick have in spades? Other than that, I actually like where the story is headed. You can only endure so many episodes of them nearly starving to dead or being beaten down by life. I at least feel like the story is moving forward.
  22. I wasn't really clear, sorry. I just was referring to the aftermath, where Brandi said Lisa choked Kim. The choking never happened. However, it all happened so quickly I'm not sure any of us would have known all that went down without modern tech allowing us to slow and isolate video. Lisa was reaching to choke, not disputing that. Just a lot of exaggeration before(LisaR's reaction to Kim's comment) and after (Brandi's "She choked Kim and threw glass at us!). I wanted to see the inside of a windmill instead.
  23. We may not figure out what Kyle was saying. One thing you can see in that clip is Lisa's hand never actually choked Kim.
  24. I thought about Kim being dismissive of Eileen and Lisa over the soap career when someone earlier in the thread linked to drunk Kim at the airport. This was prior to her appearance on RHOBH, and she pulled the "Do you know who I am?" card. Kim is still very much a star in her mind, and was even before her career was revived by reality tv.
