Social Media and Behind the Scenes: AKA Everything Else Not "News and Media"
apinknightmare replied to Zalyn's topic in Arrow
Yeah, "filming obligations" must be a standard out. -
No worries. :) I doubt him going to CC next ep will make much more sense, but here's hoping, haha.
-
He's not on tonight's episode of The Flash - it's next week.
-
I think it would be one of these two, and I'm leaning toward it being the first thing.
-
Well, that's kind of my point. Why would he threaten to torture her, like...what would be the end game? Torture her just to torture her? What's the point of torturing someone if you're not trying to persuade them to do something? He wouldn't need to torture her to persuade her to marry him, she already thinks she has to do that. She's angry because Oliver took her birthright. Whatever it is I'm guessing it's going to have to do with her earning it back, and is probably a pretty unsavory thing.
-
I just don't see why torturing her would be an option he gives her? You can die or marry this dude or I torture you (to what end? she'd just kill herself). He's got to tell her she has to do some horrible thing. Maybe she'll interrupt the ceremony and decide nah, she can't marry Oliver, she'll do the horrible thing. Or race Oliver to do the horrible thing and whoever loses dies. Kind of like a setup for a replay of how things happened between Ra's and Damien Darhk. Hopefully this time someone steals the LP water again so I can watch whoever back a U-Haul up to the fortress and siphon the pit out with a hose.
-
He probably would want to make her prove her loyalty to him by spreading that virus, especially since she basically stole it from him to keep him from doing it. Reluctance to commit to thing Ra's wants her to commit to? Check! Convinced that makes her a great candidate for a sucessor? Check! Typical Ra's!
-
I wonder if the third option is that Nyssa will have to drop the Alpha/Omega virus on Starling City herself? Or something along those lines...like he's testing her will.
-
Maybe, although she'd probably choose death. Maybe it involves challenging Ra's to a duel? She already thinks she has to marry Oliver though, so why he'd present a third option that wasn't more appealing than doing that or dying (since they are both terrible choices to her), I don't know. More villainous failure, I guess.
-
I guess maybe I'm just hung up on the wording? If marrying Oliver and choosing death aren't her only two options, then what exactly is the third? He could have Sara, sure, but...even if he used Sara to threaten Nyssa she'd still probably have to marry Oliver. What is the third option that doesn't involve marrying Oliver or death? Would she have to marry someone else?
-
What do you mean? She's presenting the two options she has: to die or to marry him. If there's a third option, it's not death and it's not marriage.
-
Yeah, this is honestly the first ep where I haven't really looked forward to anything. Don't care about (HOT) Evil!Oliver, don't care about fight scenes in Nanda Parbat, don't care about an idiotic forced marriage, don't care about Ray flying around getting new data for Google Maps. I'll watch it though. Like an idiot.
-
Nyssa: "I would rather die than to wed this pretender." Ra's: "You speak as if those are the only two options before you, my daughter." What's this third option? Take it, Nyssa. TAKE IT. (Please take it and have the marriage be between two other people)

Heartaches, Bromances, True Love and Team Arrow: the Relationships Thread
apinknightmare replied to quarks's topic in Arrow
Right? He was being his typical defeatist self and could not be reasoned with to leave voluntarily, but it's not like he wanted to stay. Same situation when she and Diggle tranqed him while he was giving his waterside soliloquy to who he thought was Slade. He didn't want to turn himself over, but didn't see any other choice. The most problematic drugging on this show was poor Barry who was just trying to get back to Central City so he didn't lose his job. And because he went back late he ENDED UP GETTING HIT BY LIGHTENING. No one bats an eyelash at that one. -
Heartaches, Bromances, True Love and Team Arrow: the Relationships Thread
apinknightmare replied to quarks's topic in Arrow
Oliver's had two "major" relationships on this show (that are non-flashback related and involving a dead person) apart from Felicity: one with Laurel, and one with her sister Sara. The same sister that he cheated on her with in the past. There isn't a single relationship on this show that has to be rewritten to look unhealthy to prop Olicity up. Those relationships were unhealthy before Felicity even became a part of Oliver's life, what with the incessant cheating and sister swapping and lying and whatnot. I mean, unless you think that's healthy. There was McKenna and Helena, but neither one of those was long-term. McKenna, no one mentions again. And I doubt anyone would argue that his relationship with Helena was healthy in any way. Or about Olicity. Uh...what? What disregard? She flew to Nanda Parbat to so that someone would be available to bring her back. She walked with and comforted Thea when they were trying to escape. She's obviously been talking to/looking out for/checking in with Thea since they've been back. Where exactly is the disregard? Felicity drugging Oliver wasn't my favorite thing, she did drug him to keep him from joining a deadly group of assassins that he'd already decided to join, so yeah, she took away his agency. But then again, it's not like he wanted to join them - he'd been saying no for weeks, but crazy desperate was she. If Oliver drugged her to keep herself from turning herself over? I don't know that I'd be all that outraged over it. If Oliver or some other man drugged a woman to manipulate or assault or violate them? Yeah, I wouldn't have any of that. Honestly, I'd have to look at the circumstances of LITERALLY any other female on this show and what they did when they drugged their loved one before I'd judge. Sara letting Nyssa tranq Laurel during the siege last year and leaving her alone on the floor of the police station? Not cool. Diggle and Felicity tranqing Oliver to keep him from turning himself over to Slade? Okay by me. Do you think that's gross too? Honest question. What about when Felicity and Digg tranqed Barry in the train station to bring him back to the Foundry to save Oliver's life? Epitome of selfish or nah? -
Stegosaurus! Never mentioned again.

Social Media and Behind the Scenes: AKA Everything Else Not "News and Media"

Yeah, I was just kidding about the sticking with your team through thick and thin comment so I could brag about my formerly crappy now good teams. I don't care who he roots for, but I did like that Katie teased him about it. -

I don't mean bandwagoner as in he's not really a fan, he probably really does root for and enjoy the Kings. I just think he started rooting for and enjoying the Kings because he lived in LA and they were winning. I also meant bandwagoner in a general sports sense. He's tweeted about bandwagoning often. -

I actually never said it was a big deal? My comment about rooting for his hometown teams even though they suck was not serious at all. I was just commenting on the fact that she called him a bandwagoner - because he totally is. -
^I don't think she's in on a long con either, but I really hope she is. Ultimately, I'm sure she's crying because she thinks Oliver is lost.

I don't have an issue with anyone changing teams if they feel a stronger connection to another one, but he literally said he became a fan of the Kings because a) the Maple Leafs are garbage and b) because when he moved to LA Robbie took him to a playoff game and the year after they won the cup. If they for whatever reason took a huge dive in the coming years, I wonder how strong SA's loyalty would be, haha. -

She's dead. That's why Felicity was crying in the foundry at the end of the last ep! RIP Sally. We hardly knew ye. -

I love that she called him a pink hat, because he totally is. You stay loyal to your hometown teams even when they're garbage, dude! When they're not it's that much sweeter (Go Caps/Wizards <---worst name ever)!!!! -
I was thinking maybe she was crying because she knew Malcolm had put cameras in the basement and was putting on a show for him (because she knows that he's working for Ra's or HIVE), but those were introduced ten episodes ago and never brought up since, so I'm guessing they were just one time plot use only cameras. Sloppy!
