And The Real O'Neals. I guess supporting parts in queer shows are her thing. And I am there for it.

I can't believe they managed to keep a lid on that through all of the promotion. I'm so glad they did. Also, mad props to them doing a story about Saturday detention without dipping into any overt Breakfast Club references.

Oh, Victor, that wasn't a good look.

I'm surprised to find myself all in on Felix and Lake.

I think this is the third series I've seen Bebe Wood in. She's almost always the highlight. This is no exception.

Holy crap, it's Hera!

Tillman's father was a complete treasure. Even with Tillman not winning much money, I hope he gets to take more flights. Once things are a little more normal, of course.

I think that’s the right call.

If the football team wanted to make sure that their bisexual quarterback and his boyfriend ended up as prom kings, was it really that toxic for Monty?

Mystery Science Theater 3000 - General Discussion
starri replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Mystery Science Theater 3000
Not that this is saying much, but The Island is one of Michael Bay's better movies. Which I suppose shows that in a lot of MST films, there are seeds of good ideas. Catalina Caper may be my all-time favorite episode. It's a stupid little movie, but it's watchable on its own merits. And the opening theme is really an earworm. -
Yes. I don't think she was credited, either.

I really did enjoy the switcheroo where afterward, Foundry came up to them, and you have every expectation that he's doing to say something at the very least insensitive...and then he introduces his husband. I do call bullshit on the football team, which has been nothing but toxic from the first season, would stuff the ballot box and cheer for a same-sex couple, QB or not. It would be much more realistic for them to beat up Charlie and demand he be thrown off the team. I was more confused by the presence of Courtney's dads. What was the point of that? I also had a hard time realizing who the third person that Clay had loved that he'd lost. I figured out eventually that he meant Jeff, but they shouldn't have made me work for it. Would it have killed them to include a shot of Jeff, Hannah, and Justin sitting together in the bleachers?

It lacks something without Park Avenue Beat.

Am I crazy, or was Tyler originally a year younger than everyone else? I know Tony was held back, even though he's older and not just because Christian Navarro looks like he's north of 30.

I won't give too much away, but despite the aforementioned trainwreck, I actually finished the entire thing today. I don't know what I would say about its overall quality, but it held my interest, which S3 didn't do. And there was a lot of really good acting in the service of bad writing. I think Alex's storyline was the most interesting, but a lot of that was because it really seemed to open up Miles Heizer as an actor in a way he hadn't been before.

For as ridiculous as it is, I’m finding this a lot more watchable than last season.

Zach, even though he has always had a lot of trouble with follow-through, is a genuinely good guy. Alex kissing him was kind of out of left field, but also kinda of not.

They actually titled the episode "I'm Not Crying, You're Crying." I think I figured out why I like Elizabeth as the host so much. She's either legitimately excited for these people, or really good a faking it. Either way, it's infectious.

Star Wars has some impressive model work. It also has some laughably bad matte paintings.
-
And Mon Mothma was played by Genevieve O'Reilly, who went on to play her in Rogue One. Although I guess with how much she resembles Caroline Blakiston, how could they not?

I really don't understand why everyone gets so worked up about CGI versus practical effects. If the visual storytelling is good, it shouldn't matter if its made with 1's and 0's.

I watched RotS last night. It struck that it was perfectly logical that Anakin had a son that was as whiny as he was. But I can't for the life of me figure out how dull Padme managed to have a daughter who was as charismatic as Leah.

Actual trailer. Charming AF. I think I also spotted Bram.
