  1. Target also has an Ugly Sweater kit where you can make your own. It's simply gluing the various objects onto a sweater. They may also be at some Walgreen's but I saw them at Target today.
  2. I wish I could send you some pie. We ended up with 10 pies!
  3. Exactly. I'm not sure why one has to be right and one wrong. I feel like people are taking sides here but there really shouldn't be any sides. Mary is doing what she feels is right for herself AND her boys. Dean has a right to be hurt. If Mary was being completely selfish, she would have taken Billie up on her offer without a second thought. The fact that she didn't when she saw how hurt her sons would be tells me that she does care about them. She just can't deal with everything in the way that they would like. I think Dean is better now that he knows Mary plans on coming back. She likely thought that was an obvious conclusion, but didn't know Dean well enough to realize that he wouldn't think that was an obvious conclusion.
  4. That was my take too. She was tempted, but saw the despair on their faces and said no. I guess I'm in the minority in that I am very sympathetic to Mary. I hate that Dean is hurt by this, but I get her position. I really do. I do believe she loves them, but she feels that she needs to get herself together first before she can be there for them. She told Jodi that the problem wasn't them. That means the problem is with her. In previous episodes she told Cas to hurt the Vet to get information about Sam, and when she came into Lady GoAway's lair I believe she had real menace in her tone when she told her to get away from her boys. I just don't understand why it should be so easy for her to get over. I also am not sure it would necessarily be good for Sam and Dean to have her around when she is in this state. It might do more damage to their relationship. Parents sacrifice a lot for their kids but you have to take care of yourself too or you can end up doing real damage to the children.
  5. I thought Sam was worried about Dean as evidenced by his first question on the subject, "Are you OK?" I believe that Sam thought that if he could get Dean to realize that Mary left because of her own issues, and not as a rejection of them as sons, that it would help Dean. As far as Dean snapping at Sam, that is what people do when they are hurting or stressed. Dean lashed out at the one person he feels will love him no matter what. How many people after a bad day at work come home and are quicker to yell at their spouse or children? It happens all the time. You don't yell at the boss, you yell at those who will forgive you for it. This was the same thing.
  6. Yeah, I remember them too. My brother had one. They weren't just in cars.
  7. Never say never. My youngest son is almost exactly like his father. The only thing he gets from me is my love of sports. Otherwise, his personality is all his dad. They did clash, just like John and Sam. I believe it's because my husband saw his own faults in my son and tried to correct them. It didn't work well. I agree with this. I think that Dean fears disappointing her but I doubt she would be disappointed. In fact, my guess is that she will feel guilty because she knows she set everything in motion. I think she will be proud of Dean for how he took care of Sam. While his fear is understandable (because don't most children fear disappointing their parents) I sincerely doubt would ever be disappointed in either of her children.
  8. Agree. I admit I was shocked to find out that the torture idea was all hers and she was only supposed to make contact. I thought Rick Springfield did fine but I've already rewatched once and I didn't rewatch his scenes except the ones with Crowley and Rowena. Really enjoyed all the scenes with Mary/Sam and Mary/Dean. I also agree that Sam's happiness and Dean's conflict feels in character. All three have been stellar IMO.
  9. Possibly. It's also likely that the reason that the character on Timeless shares a birthday with Dean is because Kripke's wife's birthday is the same day. Bonus, by using the same day over and over, it reduces the chance he'll ever forget it.
  10. I see you all realized that it's possible that there is no game 5. I'm just happy that the Giants can't possibly win again. I was rooting for the Nats because I still think the Reds were stupid for firing Dusty. Now, I don't really care, I think. I never really know until I start watching and rooting for someone. My friend says that the political ad market has been very soft this cycle. Trump is buying very few ads so there isn't a price war going on. I was curious so I asked.
  11. Exactly! They Think they know the whole story but they don't. If they did, they would know that Sam and Dean are on a first name basis with God/Chuck. Because they believe they already know everything, they don't bother to investigate.
  12. I agree. I'm not sure why Dean would assume that brass knuckles lady would be a highly trained fighter. As far as he knew, all MOLs were glorified librarians. Dorothy even said as much.
  13. I have a friend who sells ad time for a media conglomerate. The conglomerate owns an affiliate of The CW so I'll ask him about this when I see him and his wife this weekend. I noticed that more shows declined rather than increased. This is confusing because according to my friend, rates usually increase during an election year. All the political ads make the space available more valuable. Also, the current ad price is speculative on the ratings for Supernatural. I'd bet that it was assumed that there would be a significant ratings drop due to the move to Thursday and the competition with football and Notorious. If the ratings hold steady, like the preliminary numbers suggest they might, it's likely that the cost will go back up. All speculation of course. Like I said, I'll ask my friend.
  14. Good point SueB about the lack of sleep. I can tell you from experience that your mind does not work effectively when you are sleep deprived. I know they routinely go with little sleep but I'm thinking this was longer than even Dean is accustomed. Also, brass knuckles would make her hits more damaging. If she really thought she could beat Dean in a fair fight, she never would have used them. I don't feel that Dean is a lesser hunter because she got the drop on him. It doesn't prove anything to me except that the BMOL don't have a sense of fairness. You would think the fact that they have an angel on their side might give them pause. They defeated the Darkness. Maybe if they asked nicely they would then find out that God himself wanted the Winchesters around. Instead they came in thinking that they know what's what and that they are superior. That doesn't make them better than Sam and Dean, that makes them assholes. Or what DittyDotDot said.
  15. I like this theory, and considering that they made sure to remind us that she had a kid at home, obviously they are going to use that for some reason. Her needing Sam and Dean's help could be the impetus she needs to defy the BMOL.
  16. I quoted your whole post because you said most of what I feel better than I could. When the episode was over, I felt like next Thursday couldn't get here soon enough.
  17. That, plus the fact that the UK is a third of the size of Texas, which isn't even the largest state. What about Alaska and Hawaii? I'm sure they have issues as well but they are not physically connected to the majority of the US. Plus, as someone else mentioned, the vast deserts and farmlands would effect the warding as well. The population in the UK is much more concentrated than that in the US. People in the UK often underestimate the size of the US in my experience. I have a friend who married a Brit (they live in Ohio), and his UK friends were always wondering why they couldn't go to LA for the day when they visit.
  18. Yeah, I had to break it to my kids that Bohemian Rhapsody was considered an oldie and that Freddie Mercury was dead. Related to that, my daughter once asked me if I knew that the father of Jakob Dylan, the lead singer of The Wallflowers, was a singer too. His father is Bob Dylan.
  19. I watched Gilmore Girls on Netflix this summer and those scenes with Jared are from the first season I believe. He was 18.
  20. I also think that Michaels' tweet was joking while commenting on what so many have noted. Adam Glass has indeed been employing many SPN actors. I really don't believe there's any anger here in any direction.
  21. This is why we need a sarcasm font. I assume that she wouldn't tweet it unless she was sure that he would take it well. I'm sure she wants to keep working on the show.
  22. While I understand not telling Mary about Adam immediately, Adam was not the result of John cheating, so, after some time has passed and Mary has come to terms with the fact that John is dead and lived for over 20 years without her, Adam shouldn't be something to necessarily hide. Of course, they never speak of Adam anyway so chances are she won't find out about him. While JDM is currently on The Walking Dead, it's shooting schedule is usually May - November. If JDM wanted to do a few episodes, he could. They would just have to be in the latter half of the season.
  23. I agree. It's not as if John and Mary discussed the matter. In order for John to knowingly go against Mary's wishes, he would need to know those wishes. She never told him.
  24. Just saw James Patrick Stewart in an episode titled "Obsession." As Sliders filmed its first 2 years in Vancouver, it shouldn't be surprising that there are some overlaps even though the shows' premieres were about a decade apart. I don't know if I will go past season 2. The downward spiral may be too hard to take.
  25. I loved that show the first couple of seasons. Then the Kromaggs happened. I also loved the Quinn/Wade dynamic which the network didn't like. I hated Maggie and would hope that she would get left behind. It seems that it is on Netflix also.
