  1. We don't mind some cross-posting as long as it's not tons and tons of stuff. Thanks for all the news!
  2. Yes! Good topic. I can't tell where they're going to take this, either. At this point they could do the realistic thing and have Amy confess her feelings to Karma, Karma freak out a bit because she doesn't feel the same way, and Amy get herself a real girlfriend next season and have Karma feel sort of jealous/replaced... or they could go the more wish fulfillment route and have Karma start to develop feelings for Amy, too. I could see a situation where Karma finally tells Liam that she's straight and faking it, he realizes that he's come to like her as a person and not just as a concept (a lesbian he can sleep with), they start a relationship, and Karma realizes that she only liked him as an idea and that she's happiest and the most like herself with Amy. Or they could do something completely different from either of these things and I wouldn't be surprised. I think next week's episode will give us more insight into whether Amy's attracted to other girls or only to Karma. Right now she reads as pretty gay to me (and her parents obviously seemed to think so even before she came out, judging by how elated her mom was at the news that Amy was going to a dance with a boy, and her stepdad's comments about wearing pants every day), so I'm thinking that the most unlikely outcome is her deciding she's straight after all (especially considering this tweet from Carter Covington), but who knows?
  3. I watched that movie and was so amused to see all of those people and Luna Lovegood (Evanna Lynch) and "JoJo" Levesque sharing the screen. Mandi Line said that she's trying to keep the clothes at a lower price point on Faking It so that fans can go out and buy most of the pieces.
  4. ABC's 'Nashville' is an example of how traditional TV 'bubble' rules don't apply Just tell us if it's renewed alreadyyyyyyyy
  5. We're glad people like it, but for future reference: The first rule of the block feature is you do not talk about the block feature. You can probably guess the second rule! I've been reading every post on this forum, but I haven't really been participating in the discussion because I am now seven episodes behind with very little desire to catch up. Maybe I'll get really, really bored sometime this summer and do a mini-marathon.
  6. Not really a spoiler, but putting it here just to be safe. I was thinking that Ward might die in the finale, but now that Chloe Bennet has included him in her tweet about season two, I'm not so sure. (Absent from that tweet: Iain de Caestecker, but I wouldn't read too much into it. He does have a Twitter account, but he doesn't use it very often and hasn't been participating in the livetweeting of each episode.)
  7. I'd list some quotes from Mean Girls, but I'd end up quoting pretty much the entire script, so I won't get started. But, yeah. So many lines from Mean Girls. Even now, 10 years after it came out, if you make a Mean Girls joke on Tumblr, everyone gets it -- even the kids who were too young to watch the movie at the time. See? I have to force myself to stop now.
  8. I'm on the "Ward could only kill Buddy if he didn't have to look him in the face" train, and I agree that it's the same situation with Fitz and Simmons. Ward does care about them, so he can't just shoot them, but he dumps them off that plane expecting them to die -- he just won't have to watch it. We have no reason to believe that he knew the nickel was a tracker and that anyone would be able to recover them in time. I liked this one a lot. The "large file transfer" line was so cheesy, but great.
  9. I learned recently that the costume designer for this show is also the costume designer for Pretty Little Liars. She's always trying to go gayer and gayer with Emily and Paige's outfits over there, so I wasn't surprised by the suspenders, haha.
  10. I agree that it's not as good as it once was, but I still laugh out loud at least a couple of times per episode. Maybe my bar is low -- I don't watch any other half-hour comedies now that my beloved Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23 is gone (aside from Awkward and Faking It over on MTV, but they're a different style from the network comedies).
  11. Don't even get me started on Skins -- the MTV version or Skins: Fire. I could rant for days. I agree that the actors are great during interviews (and other promotion -- ). Rita and Katie have a lot of chemistry, and everyone involved seems to understand how tricky of a subject this can be. They all seem to want to do right by their LGBT viewers.
  12. 1x03: Amy: You don't get someone to fall in love with you; they fall in love with you because of who you are. Karma: Yeah, well I've been me for 15 years, and no one's fallen for me. Except for you! Amy: [uncomfortable laughter] Very funny. Penelope: I'm all for a good protest, kids -- I went to Berkeley. Karma: So, uh, how come I haven't seen you around Hester before? Soleil: Most of my classes are independent studies. They give me course credit for the various community outreach programs I'm involved with, as well as my work abroad with the Red Cross. You know how it is. Karma: Totally. I'm a lesbian. Soleil: Good for you. Amy: You know, bathrooms usually provide that for you; you don't have to carry your own. Oliver: Trust me, in a few hours this stuff will be more valuable than bitcoin. Amy: So while your fellow students rise up against injustice, you exploit them for a quick buck? Oliver: Don't hate the player, hate the game. Karma: Who's that cute boy you were talking to? Amy: Oliver. We just met, but so far I don't wanna poke his eyes out with scissors. Karma: Seriously? That's huge! Amy: I know! Oliver: And all I had to do was get the serial numbers to all the locks, call the manufacturer, pretend to be the janitor, and they mailed me every key to the school. Super easy... did that make me sound creepy? Amy: No, not at all. But please tell me the next stop on this tour isn't the incinerator. Oliver: Oh, God no. No, the incinerator is for special occasions only. Anniversaries, Valentine's Day, that sort of thing. Liam: She is so damn sexy. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have- Karma: No, no, I'm with you. I mean, look at her... flawless skin, and those... perky, round breasts. Amy: What do you even know about Liam except he's the hottest guy in school? Karma: I know that he's into protesting things, and he fights against corporate greed, and he has integrity! Amy: Maybe he can lend you some. Karma: You need to eat. You're always bitchy when you're hungry. And so what if I like the hottest guy in school? I'm a fucking teenage girl. Shane: Okay, there's no easy way to say this, so I'm gonna rip the band-aid right off. There's something going on between Karma and Liam. Amy: What? No. Karma and Liam, she would never... yeah, you're right. Amy: We're faking being lesbians. Karma is. I'm not so sure.
  13. I thought this was another solid episode. I'm liking Shane more and more every week, and I think it's great that Amy has a confidante now. I really liked Oliver, and in an alternate universe I'd like to see him with Amy. Karma annoyed me, but mostly because she's actually acting like a naive 15-year-old girl, so A+ on the characterization there. Liam is... Liam. I feel like we don't know much about him yet, but so far, I'm still not liking the guy (and I'm amused by how often his real accent slips through). What was with him getting into the car with the Skwerkel lady at the end of the episode -- is that a relative of his, maybe? I loved the running gag with people grabbing that poor guy's bullhorn from him. "Oh, just keep it!"
  14. I laughed out loud at the "three days later" scene. "We did bad things to the tub." "I got the sugars! I'm the Sugarman!" "Silence! I have the talking soap!" "I'm the queen of Wednesday!" This show always does random well.
  15. I did a rewatch recently. I still love season one. I loved the initial Seth/Ryan/Marissa dynamic, especially in "The Model Home" before everything went to shit. They were actually laughing and teasing each other and having fun. I liked it when Summer got brought into the group, too; "The Escape" (again, before things went to shit) is still one of my favorites. I always like road trip episodes. Also, a lot more stuff happened in season one than I remembered -- it had the whole Oliver story line (which I enjoyed more now than I did when it first aired; he was just a delightfully cartoony villain), stupid Theresa and her stupid pregnancy, and Caleb and Julie's relationship and marriage. It was a fast-paced, generally fun, soapy first season, and I enjoyed it immensely. Season two had a lot more crap than I remembered. I liked Lindsey and Alex, but I couldn't stand the Zach/Summer/Seth triangle, and the whole thing with Rebecca and Sandy was just a snoozefest. Season three... ugh at the Newport Union story line and everyone involved in it. Words cannot express how little I cared about what happened to Johnny. I liked Kaitlin, and I liked Taylor Townsend more this time than I did initially, but she still got on my nerves (she was too over-the-top, too stalkery with Ryan, just too strident and irritating in general. She always seemed like a less-likable Paris Geller to me). I am still, all these years later, angry that the writers killed Marissa when she was being written off anyway. They never let that girl have any fun or any long-term happiness after early season one, and killing her when she was going to leave and be happy with her dad was just a slap in the face to her (approximately) five fans. Season four was... season four. Too much Taylor. Too much Frank. Way too much Che. I liked the finale, though.
  16. I think that Victoria wanted to test Charlotte's hair and Carl's blood to see if the two were actually related (as they should be, as David Clarke's daughter and his supposed grandson). The test came back saying they weren't, of course, so Victoria now knows that the dead "Amanda Clarke" was not really Amanda Clarke.
  17. I haven't enjoyed an episode of Revenge that much in a while. I liked that Emily knew the press conference confession would be considered under duress and inadmissible and instead let Charlotte go and unknowingly finish the work for her. I couldn't believe it when Conrad was actually arrested, and I thought it was great when he wished Emily luck with bringing down Victoria. Next week's season finale looks great, too. I wonder if they're going to let this Conrad thing stick and make Daniel the next villain (I can't see Victoria as the main villain, mostly because I actually feel sorry for her), or if they'll have to find someone new for Emily to go after. I wonder if they have time to tie up the crazy cabin story line in the finale, or if that will carry over into next year.
  18. Okay, guys. You are free to criticize the contestants as harshly as you like, but it's not kosher to call your fellow posters pathetic or tell them what they should and shouldn't post. You can debate with someone without personally attacking them or telling them what to do. Please be more careful about that in the future.
  19. I liked this, but I feel like I'm not enjoying this season as much as the first, and I think it's because there's too much Sarah and not enough of the other clones. Sarah is the least-compelling of the lot, for me, and I'm getting tired of watching her run from one place to another. The show's not slow or boring, by any means, but I would just rather see more of Alison or Cosima than the 5-10 minutes we're getting. At least now that Kira's with her dad (who I liked; I always enjoyed him on Nashville, too), maybe the story back at home can move forward some more.
  20. I'm sorry you don't like that, but we don't consider promos to be spoilers, so there will likely be promo talk in most episode threads around here.
  21. I was initially disappointed that Margot Verner slept with Will, but it's apparent from the promos that she did so in order to have a male heir so that she can kill her brother without losing her fortune, so I guess that's okay. At least Bryan didn't make her heterosexual like some of the other writers wanted to. That five-way sex scene was ambitious. I felt like it went on a little too long, though. Agree that Will did not kill Freddie, but convinced her to hide out someplace. It wouldn't take too much convincing, as she already believes that Hannibal is a murderer. I just can't see Will killing an innocent. I like that Alana is starting to get suspicious. She really couldn't have gone much longer without suspecting something; she would have just looked stupid.
  22. I haven't heard the theme song in a while, but that's exactly how I remember it.
  23. That article was very interesting; thanks for that! It's nice to see that the industry is (finally) changing a bit. I remember thinking that Nielsen ratings were practically useless back when I was in high school (15 years ago now).
  24. I guess that depends on whether this season is supposed to be about a love triangle or more about a girl coming out to herself. I could see her not admitting her feelings to Karma until the finale (that's only six episodes away, after all), and then the writers deciding where to take it from there (maybe based partly on fan reaction?). I don't think that Karma is even considering the idea that Amy could be into her at this point, much less that she could have feelings for Amy. She's much too hung up on Liam. (I just checked Zap2it's episode guide again, and it does look like Amy's going to hide her feelings for a while.)
