And the fabric was exactly what the Guest Judge objected to. But clever Hester responded about the color, and thus escaped. I didn't like their gown at all---not the shape, not the heavy fabric, and definitely not the color. I do not like gray. It flatters no-one. To me, it's a weak sister used by those not gutsy enough to choose black. I thought the bottom part of Kara Saun's dress was laughable! Korto chose the perfect time to use her material. The team's gown was amazing.

S01.07 Did you think you'd get a prince?
LennieBriscoe replied to kitkat343's topic in Match Me Abroad
I am the Queen Cynic, Stuckathome, and you've given me food for thought, but I'll need to see more of the big lug before I lose faith in Harold! As for "single men do this": I was married for 41 years, and had a few suitors prior, not that I can remember that far back! If you mean that men behave as women allow them to, aka, "test" boundaries, I don't know. Where's the romance in that? -

Harold is such an innocent! His big sweet smile after inviting Michaela to his room was as cute as a box of kittens! He really did want to show her his etchings! -

OMGTMIBLEAGH! 🤮 Oh, TLC, we hardly know ye. 🫤 -
Not a matter of "goth" or the color black per se (not exactly a color eschewed in high fashion!). It was that Stacey blackened her lids to resemble the dark eye sockets of a skull.

How did you read "rooting for" as my having "expectations," never mind any that I "better lower"? Moreover, I don't get the rest of your post as anywhere near relevant to mine. Maybe a paragraph break would help?

I'm going to bell the cat that is Susan: She has an angular and pointy witch face! 🧙 Lawn-mowing. Not a good activity for either discussing or sharing.

I don't know about "a hard time casting"; people seem to love being on TV, and the prize is a great lure! "Alone" has had more seasons and offshoots (Australia!) than many another show. Plus, there's the Unknown X Factor: Whose skills just can't override loneliness; fear; lack of finding food but not for lack of trying; excess weight loss; weather conditions. "Brutal" is the deal, not the glitch. I don't think there have been "lots of [lingering] health problems," as the reunion episodes have pretty much shown the participants doing well, or at least as well as they originally were. As for their having "no health insurance," it would be theirs to obtain, this being the ridiculous United States of No Universal Health Care America. In any case, they aren't employees of the show or network. We also don't know what all is included in the agreements they must surely sign in order to participate (e.g., that they agree to depart without argument if the medical team determines it necessary; that they consent to their families' being shown; that they don't cheat with what and how much they can take with them; etc.). I find "Alone" to be a rare opportunity for people with abilities, learning, and skills rarely observed let alone rewarded in modern America to show, and yes, show off, what they can. For me, I have learned so much from this show, because it depicts ways of survival in "Nature, red in tooth and claw," that I can barely comprehend in my suburban house. Yeah, cooking shows. Yeah, fashion shows. Yeah, game shows (was on "Jeopardy"). But Saskatchewan? The Arctic? Mongolia?! Wowza! I suspect and truly hope that all who compete are proud of themselves. Because pride of accomplishment is right up there with and maybe surpasses the money. And that's ultimately why I think there is no dearth of hopefuls.

I love Kayne, so yay! P.S. There's a "PR: All-Stars" separate thread, so color me confused.

I'm rooting for the older woman who farms. She has a hard life.

Razvan's friend wants him, IMO. -
I recall only two acts. 1.) Lambros Garcia: FABULOUS! If little Reginald Dwight had taken to dance instead of the piano...! Lambros's agility, kicks, stag leap, split, cartwheel, and struts were superbly executed! Add in some flamboyance and I'm there, honey! Now, where would his act fit Sin City? WTH knows?! But compared to the unutterably boring head-to-head balancing duo, Lambros is the entire Rat Pack! 2.) Avantguardey, the snarky synchronized "Japanese Soul": Awesome! Parody succeeds most when brilliantly done, and this performance, with its kooky moves and wacky facial expressions, was.

Old Guy With Guitar was great! But he'll be cool with not progressing far.

I thought I saw stains on the T-shirt, too! 🤪

Door #3. I would eat the liver. BTW, Sara was on the right track; liver should not be "well-done," lest it metamorphose into shoe leather. Never any insect.

Raise your hand if you thought it would be Anybody But Buddha. No-one? Heh. All the mentions of his "technique" were the BIG CLUE! But I must say, he knows how to present an absolutely beautiful plate of food. That butterfly! That dessert flower! Gabri was dinged ever so slightly for his 1st Course. Clearly Sara lost with the raw liver (maybe she needed a nice Chianti?). Still do not want grasshoppers! Or anything named burgoo! ❤ ➡️ Gabri, but 🥇 ➡️ Buddha! 👏👏👏

Mark = "American Privilege" [tm Me], formerly known as "The Ugly American." He presents as a mature, normal guy, though. I can't criticize Nathaly for not getting into the pool, but I can, and do, criticize her for behaving like she doesn't even want to go on a date, never mind find a fiance. That "shy" act has got to go. Please get Harold a different hairstyle. And his Matchmaker might want to inform him that a distended stomach isn't exactly catnip to many women. Stanika will not see Match #1 ever again. I love this show! 😄
-
Harold also needs a different haircut to go with his new white shirt. And when he said that some women wanted him just for sex? 🤣🤣🫣 Mark seems to want someone to help with his expenses. I don't think Susan is attractive.

Gotta love a Darcey's Jesse reference! As for attention to pets: The owners are all the same, every Reality Romance show! "I have two dogs that sleep with me." "I'm allergic to cats." "Well, I have three cats!" "I have 12 dogs; I'm a breeder!" Etc. Man, woman, matters not; each loves his or her pet to dayeth!

I did something similar in Fez: a guided visit to the leather-tanning vats! Moroccan leather is the real deal! But find a spouse there? Um, no. I've avoided all the limitless permutations, continuations, repeats, and pillow-talks of the "90 Day Fiance" franchise---until now! "Match Me Abroad" has a different style: no Internet shenanigans of a Maria or a Willums going MIA, e.g.; no No-Gos, like the snarky but effeminate Teem; no Grangela cake-throwers and uterus-carriers; etc. Just good old-fashioned match-making! So far! Best line to date: "I don't like men in flowers." But that's Harold, baby! Back in the day I'd have taken Jack Lord in a Hawaiian flowered shirt in a trice! Alas, Harold's autism revelation has tamped down the snark factor and raised the sympathy view 10-fold. I don't watch these shows for that.

("Literary Groups") Well, I knew tonight's FJ much as I did the same type in the Masters FJs, and, indeed, as I knew mine when I was on the show---because I taught the broader subject matter. Plus in this case I've been to all three places!
