S21.E11: Top 26 Perform in Hawai'i (Part I)

I couldn't hear anybody over my horrified screaming at Noah's non-brows. ðą -
Jimmy Kimmel Live - General Discussion
LennieBriscoe replied to David T. Cole's topic in Jimmy Kimmel Live
I'm going to come clean, but it means a digression: I had always liked JK, his humor, his personality, his politics. Until he singled out Austin Butler at the Oscars for a razz about "still" sounding like Elvis. It's a whole Internet thing and, as I said, a digression here. So now I'm not such a fan. -

True enough, as the Party Truck photos were at hand. But that doesn't preclude Jimmy's trying first to get a laugh at Jeremy's expense (Jimmy's gotta Jimmy), but the audience was 100% with Jeremy. -

Yes! Here's the thing: Jimmy was setting Jeremy up for a laugh (punchline) about his "hobby" of collecting firetrucks and other large utilitarian vehicles. But Jeremy got the better of Jimmy when he described turning a firetruck into a traveling party for children! Metallica guys rocked, too! -

Marie Antoinette - General Discussion

Almost exactly what I was going to post! Including especially the assessment of the "separated from her children" scene. I vaguely remember once reading that MA spoke no French, one more point against her. But I also drew the conclusion that she was railroaded and didn't deserve execution. The series is IMO typical PBS---drawn out! I was ready to slap the Dauphin and tell him, "Snap out of it!" -
There is a Reddit sub-thread called "What Could Go Wrong?" Let me tell you, those "parkour" posts would be a prime entry. The diameters are way too small; there is no safe "landing" area or finish line; and the different heights are both dangerous and nonsensical. ðŽ ð ðĨ ðĪðĻâðĶ― For all the "added value" and uniqueness, what the show could not improve was the closeness of each house to the other. I mean, for that money....ðĪ

Best moment? The judge pointing out that the outdoor fireplace totally blocked the view! ð ðĪĶââïļ ðĪĶââïļ A bocce court? ð

S01E16: Twelve Worried Persons
LennieBriscoe replied to The Crazed Spruce's topic in So Help Me Todd
Patty has got to go. Permanently. Not only is the character maddening, but the actress's voice annoys me! The ensemble needs her like the proverbial ðĪŊ. Marissa's character is teetering on that same edge for me, but her heart's in the right place. Can she become an intern, maybe Todd's Go-fer, if she tones it down a bit? -
Not one couple yet in this season (or previous, IIRC) designed for a possible real future, to wit: Wider hallways and doorways on purpose to accommodate walkers and wheelchairs. An elevator. Accessible kitchen with no-ladder-required storage, range knobs and faucet handles in the front. Walk-in tubs instead of clawfoot ones with high sides to climb over. Countertops to slide a wheelchair under. Etc. Too specific? I'm hale and hearty at 73, knock on the proverbial wood, and I would love to go back and re-design my house like this! And what about a "Smart" house? Has any team incorporated computer technology with their HVAC systems, security, appliances, windows/blinds, lighting, room to room communication, music, etc.? We saw the $7000 toilet, but cost is basically all we were told. I am one that would like to see a Crafting Room. Tables and storage of different sizes and purposes, comfy chairs, TV, and maybe a fancy-pants sewing machine (or at least room for one; my friend has one, just got a quilter, and bought one of those Cricket [sp?] machines, too!). Coloring, rock-painting, 3000-piece puzzles, knitting, etc.!

S48.E16: Quinta Brunson / Lil Yachty
LennieBriscoe replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Saturday Night Live
Considering all her children, Queen Victoria probably wouldn't have been shocked. ð To the news story: It takes a fairly unaware teacher not to know that public schools are under attack; that censorship of school libraries is on the rise; and that faculty had best follow the curriculum as written and on file (if this was any kind of normal US public school), or risk their jobs. I'm glad I taught in the 20th C. I didn't know what was going on with "WU," but was so uncomfortable with no laughs that I turned off and deleted my recording! I hate pranks. Like, for real. -
The best is some hybrid. ð For me, it would be the spa and the arcade games! I didn't like the swings because I can see people kicking the table to push off, and then crashing on the return! What's that? You're just supposed to sit still? On....swings? ðĪ Fuhgeddaboutit! I didn't think Michel and Anthony went far enough with their Speakeasy idea. One "secret" room doesn't scream, "Come and get me, Ness!" Boozy, dark, and sexy; take it from there. Kids, keep out! I don't know why anyone would want a full lower-level kitchen (OMG, don't get me started on the Italian 2-kitchens thing!), because who today wants to lug stuff downstairs to make any recipe requiring a FULL KITCHEN?! Or are the cupboards and refrigerator to contain duplicate herbs and spices and utensils and fresh vegetables and...oops! Triggered! ð Every time I see something on these kinds of shows such as the wood slats on the walls, I immediately think: Dusting all that?! (I didn't say I dust; I said I think about it!) My One Major Lower-Level Item: A swim-spa with resistance-flow to swim in place. ðââïļ https://www.swimex.com/residential-pool-gallery/

The day my washing machine spewed sudsy water all over the floor of my laundry room off my kitchen was the day I was glad we hadn't bought a house with the laundry room on the second floor!

Duncan was AWESOME! I had my doubts, but he did indeed come to his senses and stayed steadfast! Alyssa had harped so much on how Duncan just didn't understand, but he understood, all right! He understood he'd be buying a ticket for a World-Class Emotional Roller Coaster, and he decided he just didn't meet the height requirement! ð ðĒ ðĪĢ And wasn't Lindall just Little Miss Steel Spine giving Cameron the boot?! "Nope, don't need to hear your words. Put 'em away." Now he can kiss his fish in peace. ð ð ðĪŠ Evelyn kind of surprised me, because she had been so patient and pleasant with the idiot Rupert, who actually seems to think he deserved "better" than Evelyn! Ah, well, at least they were compatible at the end, haha! ðð Come on, Ollie, move for Tahnee! You didn't find love in your Perth! ðģ + â = ð

Scotch Egg Poppers! Just add some Colman's Hot Mustard and I'll take a basket! ð

Episode 34 (can you believe it?!): The "Final Vows" of the remaining 3 couples--- Evelyn and Rupert; Tahnee and Ollie; Lyndall and Cameron. Included are the Usual Suspects of long-distance, compatibility, effort, and, of course, love. We are also reminded vividly of Lyndall's life-long battle with Cystic Fibrosis, which I admit having forgotten. Episode 35 in previews looks to be a drama-filled Final Dinner Party, with Stupid Alyssa in tears yet again. Nobody cares, Dear.

A lifetime ago in some pub in England I ate my first Scotch egg. And the angels sang to the music of the Spheres! ð So it pained me to see a botched version! ð

Episode 33, up now, was very interesting. Alyssa and Duncan plus Melinda and Layton make their final decisions. Some wedding day flashbacks/filler. Last-chance meetings with a relative (Duncan's sister looks just like him!). Alyssa mentions her father in a way I don't recall hearing before. Man, I forgot how loaded Layton must be, with his sweeeet car! ð And on an even more superficial note: I'd like to know what lipstick Alyssa is wearing! ð
