  1. So Esme was adopted. Any guesses on her parents? Ryan as her father? Who as her mother?
  2. I think it looks fluffy because of the split ends. She needs a good cut. Her hair would look much healthier.
  3. They have also been involved in a show called Home to Win here in Canada. A bunch of TV designers and contractors renovate an older house, with each team of designer/contractor (usually from different HGTV shows) doing a different room. At the end of the series, families compete to win the house. (Please don't ask what types of competitions - I have never watched the final episodes as my interest is in the renos, not who will live there.) There have been 2-3 seasons of it, and the Baeumlers have been involved in all of them. There is also a website of Baeumler approved contractors and trades, so if you are looking for someone to work on your house, you can rely on these people being qualified and reliable. He's definitely well-respected here, so I believe that while, yes, they discovered a lot of surprises during the reno of the hotel, some of the "surprises" were created for the show. Also - his area of expertise is the Ontario climate. I have to believe there is a huge learning curve going from that to the Bahamas. We may have hot humid summers, but we are not tropical.
  4. As a Canadian who has watched all their shows here, it's interesting reading all the comments and realizing just how much general info gets edited out for the US market. Bryan had his own show here for years (Bryan Inc, maybe?), and then there was a House of Bryan series, when they just had two kids and tore down their bungalow and built a two-story house. Sarah was a ballet teacher and hired a designer for the house. They then did another series, I want to say House of Bryan on the Rocks, which showed them building their cottage when Lincoln was a toddler. Sarah had the same designer as before, but the designer quit partly through the build. Sarah announced her 4th pregnancy at the end of that. Then there was another House of Bryan, where they bought a property in the country when she was pregnant with Jojo. They moved in before the build, had the baby, the ice storm that hit Ontario hit, and spent a ton of time renovating/expanding/enlarging the house. Sarah was the designer for that. Sarah has now done the show house that is the grand prize in a major hospital lottery for the last couple of years. They clearly have money. The kids were all at independent schools before the family moved to the Bahamas, and those are not cheap. The initial home-schooling was the kids finishing off their school years remotely from their Canadian schools. This was before "remote learning" was a thing. When school resumed in the fall, they said that Quintyn was at a boarding school as he was in Grade 9 and they wanted him to have a proper high school experience. The younger 3 appeared to me to be at the local school on the island. Then this past school year, Q was living with grandparents in Canada and the younger 3 were doing remote learning...with a school in Florida? Or Canada? HGTV Canada has said there will be another series, about the reno of the Florida property.
  5. Do any adult relationships move as slowly as Nina and Mike's? It's been MONTHS, and they are all "let's go on a date!"
  6. Trina helps Joss make a meal for her dad? Is that jar of spaghetti sauce Trina got at the Tan-O however many months ago going to make an appearance?
  7. How many creepy/evil characters do we need on the show at one time? Peter is back, Ryan is back, and Esme has arrived in town. Three seems like a lot more than necessary.
  8. Is Eden McCoy playing college volleyball this year? Because if so, how on earth can she manage that and continue as Josslyn? Maybe Joss will be hurt at the wedding and can join Lulu in a coma in NY. I'd be fine with that.
  9. Odd question, but what were the kids drinking when the whole family was having dinner for Barry's birthday? They were pouring a coloured liquid from bottles into glasses, and although it wasn't pop it sure wasn't the colour of any 100% juice I've seen. It looked a lot like fruit punch, but of course it couldn't have been that as a big part of the first season was that the kids don't consume sugar.
  10. Student nurse Willow pissed me off when answering what to do if a patient wants to discharge themselves from the hospital. If any nurse ever spoke to me like that I would definitely be discharging myself. I can't believe I used to like Willow.
  11. In Ontario, he'd be entering Grade 1 in September. Kids here enter Grade 1 in September of the calendar year they turn 6. (So everyone in the class is 6 as of December 31.) He could also have completed two years of full-day Kindergarten by now. It's so sad to think of what he has been missing out on.
  12. Biz is a nickname for Elizabeth, just not a common on. I knew a Biz when I was at school. I think it comes from the William-Will-Bill derivation of nicknames - Elizabeth-Liz-Biz. Wasn't Cameron offered a full scholarship to Stanford, which he gave up to go to PCU? I've got to assume he got a full scholarship to PCU. Anyone who started watching the show recently has to be confused as hell by the "Who shot Hayden?" discussions. She was shot, what, 5 years ago? And last appeared in PC 2-3 years ago? I know who shot Hayden, but if I had never seen her onscreen I really wouldn't care about this storyline either.
  13. I'm not a fan of the name Fern because I knew a girl named Fern and I didn't like her. It's really awful that an experience with someone with a particular name can affect the way you feel about the name years later. What surprises me is the middle name. The first three kids all had a name with a story behind it - Spurgeon's first name, Henry's middle name, Ivy's middle name - but I have never heard of the name Elliana before. It's very pretty, but as far as I know they can't do the "we were reading about Lady Jane Gray who was Protestant..." thing they did about Ivy Jane. I'm willing to cut Ben some slack. My husband was grossed out by pregnancy and childbirth, and quite frankly I wanted his focus to be on supporting me rather than watching the baby's birth when it got time to push. I'm wondering if what we are interpreting as Ben's lack of interest in Jessa when she (or anyone else) is recording stuff is actually a lack of interest in being recording. He didn't grow up with a camera in his face all the time, and maybe he's just over it. He may be happy the show is cancelled, and would just prefer it if his life weren't be recording and posted online. He and Jessa could have reached an agreement whereby she can record and post whatever he wants but he doesn't have to be an active participant when she is recording.
  14. He's Canadian, so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
  15. Does the PCPD no longer care who shot Jason, now that we know it wasn't Cameron?
  16. I really wanted this, because it would mean she'd be moving out of PC. But apparently I can't get what I want.
  17. Did you realize that Molly and TJ are domestic partners? I don't think they used that phrase enough today.
  18. They also dropped the plot where fake nurse Chloe apparently had access to a whole cupboard of the antidote. What was the point of showing us that if you are just going to kill off both Chloe and Peter? I don't mind Brando, but he and Sasha do not need a baby. Particularly one that gestates magically fast. I'm not invested in either of them.
  19. I can't stand Michael. I can't stand Michael and Willow as a couple, which is a shame as I really quite liked Willow when she was with Chase. Are we really, truly, 100% sure that Peter is dead? Because dragging out the Maxie-is-worried-about-Peter-so-Louise-stays-with BL and Valentin for ages is just going to get boring. I really think it would have been much more interesting and soapy for Peter not to be dead and in 6 months time or something kidnap baby Bailey, not realizing she is actually his daughter. Why wouldn't Maxie tell Britt the truth about the baby? Britt knew the plan was for her to find someone to keep the baby safe - so why not tell Britt that she executed the plan herself and Louise is with Brook Lynn? Staying silent with the one person who knew what they were planning makes no sense.
  20. Anyone else notice how when Doc Austin looked at the board in GH, he/the camera paused over the "Michael Corinthos Youth Head Trauma Wing" or whatever it was called? And then someone unknown is watching Michael and Willow through the window? Clearly he has something to do with Michael. Yay. Is it really possible that both Cyrus and Peter are finally dealt with, and the Corinthos crew had nothing to do with it? (Besides Cyrus being injured on the pier, of course.) I really like BL and Valentin together. It's too bad the lie about the baby will ultimately come between them.
  21. Great episode, Maxie was awesome! Remind me never to go to Portia if I need medical treatment. She bandaged up Cyrus over his shirt. Peter's teeth looked whiter than usual. How nice of him to get them whitened before planning to kidnap Maxie and the baby.
  22. Omg, that video made me cry. Back to GH - that would have at least been a novel delivery. Even if she had been alone in a cabin - that would have been novel. But we have already done birthing-in-the-great-outdoors with kids who are still little - the unseen James, the unseen Scout, and the seen-way-too-much plot point Wyllie. I guess since Baby Lou will also be a key plot point baby we've at least evened up the unseen/seen-all-the-time baby count to 2-2. Maxie may have wanted to mention her heart transplant when mentioning this was her third child. Sam is an idiot. I still have a crush on Dante. I'm really kind of liking Jason with Britt. And I'm p.o.'d that Britt has the Huntington's marker and Peter does not.
  23. I loved the flashbacks, though there could have been more. They were all so young! And I was a kid when I was watching them and they were the adults, so now I just feel old. (And omg, I have watched this show for way too long.) I have no memory of a son/step-son named Conor. Was he ever a character on the show? Did I block him out for some reason? I liked the idea of Annie being in the episode, but it all kind of fell flat. If they were all in on this plan, then why did Laura and Monica look shocked right before they "disappeared"? And why do I care if Annie becomes a WSB agent? For the most part, the WSB has been "offscreen" for a really, really long time. Can Maxie PLEASE just have this baby so we can move this story along? I liked the conversation between Bobbi and Maxie, and mentioning BJ's heart, but really, Bobbi can just call up some friends at GH and get the stuff she needs to induce Maxie's baby? Really? Does no one take inventory at GH? Peter just needs to go. There have been villains on this show I have loved to hate, like Faison and Helena. They appear, cause massive problems, and then leave. And whenever they appeared I was excited because I knew all sorts of mayhem would occur. But Peter? I just roll my eyes with him. He's too cartoon-y. I miss Faison. Rest in peace, John Reilly.
