  1. It seemed to me that even Ron thought he'd gone too far. Oh man. That's great. I'll need to rewatch. Very much enjoyed these eps. The William Henry Harrison Museum was hilarious, and I loved the curator. Leslie and Ron trapped together was gold. Loved Leslie trying to get Ron to speak. Seeing him completely covered with Post-Its was hilarious. I do wonder what happened to Diane and the kids. So many great jokes. All the references to the future, Annabel Porter and Bloosh, toddler cologne, Tom translating for Ron, the art Craig put on the walls, Leslie having sent 60 veggie pizzas to Ron's house, Ben telling Leslie they can rename the kids Ruth, Bader, and Ginsburg. And on and on. I'm actually curious what April will find to satisfy her for a job.
  2. Betting it all, I assume. I can't recall the name of the actress she looks like. I was thinking it was from Mad About You, but checking IMDB I found I was wrong. This will be bugging me. Boy, Nicholas was shocked when his guess of Ben Affleck was wrong. That was kind of funny, though I also guessed that then immediately thought, "Oh! Alan Arkin!" I think that clue was chosen to trick people up. I thought Daniel answered 'sonograph' not 'sonogram'. Alex repeated it back as 'sonogram' and accepted it, adding "or ultrasound." But the clue asked for the name of the machine, I think. BTW, wasn't his name Daniel Crigg? Anyway else immediately think of James Bond? For FJ Becket immediately came to mind, but then I thought I was wrong. I guessed Martin Luther. Yeah, I was way off.
  3. I also thought the second show was better. It'll be interesting to see how they continue to tweak things.
  4. I haven't seen that ad, but I believe older kids are often used to sell things to younger kids.
  5. I haven't seen Oz. I've read about it. Don't want to watch it. I know Simmons from L&O, the first Spiderman movies (where I thought he was fantastic), and the movie The Ref. I'm sure there are other things I've seen him in, but these are what stand out.
  6. I love JK Simmons' performances, but I've seen him in a couple of interviews and didn't quite like him. I hope he's better on the show.
  7. I forgot about that. First off, the claim that MLK would be a Tea Partier is absurd. Second, what do the TPers have to gain from co-opting MLK? Do they think that will attract African-Americans to their group?
  8. Wow, CoolWhipLit. I can't imagine how that guy gets by day to day. Do you have similar reactions with certain sounds?
  9. I think Lena said that this ep was written (and maybe filmed) before her book came out. However, it's easy to see the ep as a fictional view of various criticisms thrown at her and the show.
  10. I'm on the West Coast, and I noticed the directing boo-boo's. When the woman was first introduced, she had her back to the camera as she waved to the audience. I guess the director couldn't help that. I think there might have been another cut that seemed awkward. But not a lot. I was disappointed in this debut, but since it's just starting I'll be patient. One change I hope they'll make is cut down on the panelists/guests. I don't want to hear 3-second responses to questions. I also didn't like the 100 bit. It was like the McLaughlin Group (as I remember it). Also, the mix of joking around and being serious was awkward. I'm not sure how that can be avoided when you have several people talking about something, but maybe that'll come in time as people understand the tone of the show. I don't really find much to distinguish this show from others. But I'm hoping they find what they want to be and what works for them. I didn't care for the woman (writer?) at all. I think I'll like Larry answering the Keep It 100 question at the end. I liked his line about Al Sharpton not being Black Batman.
  11. I couldn't pay much attention to the interview segment. I'd heard about Kerry bringing James Taylor to France, but I hadn't seen that supremely awkward embrace. Oh. My. Gosh. There's no getting around how embarrassing and tone-deaf that was. Loved Jon's line, "It's a beauty pageant! They're ALL enemies!"
  12. I liked Leah. She had a charming reaction to things at various times, and her smile was lovely. But, yeah, she was too timid betting. I got FJ. I think the "scarce and valuable books" led me to auction houses. I immediately came up with Sotheby's, then took a few seconds to get to Christie's. I did wonder if they were both British. Isn't there a famous auction house in NYC?
  13. Now I need to listen for the whistling. I'm sure I've heard commercials with it, but since it doesn't bother me, I don't really think about it.
  14. Now you've got me all confused. I didn't think the reporter was the same guy, but I thought the therapist in the Nina and Lance ep was him, which someone else confirmed.
  15. Rick Kitchen, after the Golden Globes win, I watched the first two eps of Jane the Virgin that the CW repeated before the new season. I thought it was very good. Funny and sweet. I'm not watching S2 until I see the rest of S1. I don't know what that'll happen.
  16. I was just going to ask if Elijah had a job. I can't remember. As far as why he showed up -- Hannah had texted him, and he could tell she needed cheering up. Hmmm. How did he find where she lived?
  17. I've heard about it as a treatment for headaches.
  18. Here's an interview with Sepinwall. Can someone explain why he was fired and what happened?
  19. When he said that the raccoon mimed shooting him, I thought OK, funny exaggeration, obviously not true, so I loved that when his wife said that wasn't possible, he admitted that maybe the raccoon just wiggled his fingers at him. Very clever setup. I might check out one of his stand ups on Comedy Central.
  20. I'm glad they deleted that scene.
  21. His assumption that she was going out made sense since she hasn't wanted to have sex for a while.
  22. I recognized the bookstore clerk as Brooks Wheelan, who was briefly on SNL. I suspect we'll be seeing more of that character.
  23. I can't remember how Lemmon did it, but Tony Randall was hilarious doing it. I don't remember gross sounds, just honking-type sounds. I haven't seen ads for the new show yet.
  24. I believe they last saw each other at Brett and Michelle's wedding.
  25. I couldn't figure out how she hit his balls. I was getting so frustrated with Brett when he wouldn't just let Michelle lead the way thru the little gameplay. I love seeing Alex and Tina together. I think they're great together as friends.
