  1. I don’t go to Facebook, but I don’t know why it’s necessary to insult people just because they enjoy the show and you don’t. I’m not enjoying the show now, especially with Eric and Nicole gone, but I won’t begrudge people enjoying it, even if it is mindlessly (which seems to be the best way to enjoy it.) And is Twitter “better” simply because a lot of people there enjoy the same pairing you do? As much as I loathe the Xander/Sarah pairing, I get that it they’re somewhat popular, but not sure why fans thought they were entitled to a promo of their fifteenth attempt at a wedding.
  2. I think that's a bit unfair, especially since I think you're including Caleb (or whatever the character's name ended up being on GH.) That character was on simultaneously as Silas and wasn't meant to be a regular character. If it weren't for circumstances outside of ME's control, he would probably still be playing John McBain here. They gave up on Silas too quickly, but I liked Finn better. He played Finn for 7(?) years. That's not a failure, in my book. Love is not synonymous with sex. I don't think every younger couple has to have love scenes. I agree the scene with Brooke Lynn in the sauna with her blazer was ridiculous, but other than that, I haven't noticed that much about Brooke Lynn/Chase being sexless. They may not have love scenes, but the characters, IMO, have fun chemistry, and it's not like they're not affectionate with each other.
  3. If he did that, it’s pretty gross, especially hanging an actor out to dry who was simply doing his job. I’m not sure if that was actually happening or just projection from people who didn’t like the other Luckys. I think I recall Geary doing a fan event (or maybe multiple ones) with all three actors who played Lucky. The only time I recall him being abusive was when Liz was trying to leave (I think this was after she caught him and Maxie together in their bed.) He held her too tightly and maybe even shook her a little, but that was it.
  4. Count me in as someone "meh" on the news. It's incredibly disappointing for me since GV isn't on Days anymore, so I felt a glimmer of hope. His Lucky was always my fave. I liked JJ's Lucky well enough during his first run, and I always knew JJ was a great actor, but I never felt any real attachment. I think the only reason I was really sad when he left was that I loved the original run of the Four Musketeers and, especially, his relationship with Nikolas. His last run further confirmed that I'm not a huge fan of his Lucky. The only upside for me is that, hopefully, they'll do Liz/Lucky instead of Jiz. However, with my luck, they'll do a triangle (which deadbeat dad to her children will she choose).
  5. A kitchen island and art are vastly different, and the masses have different emotional attachments. You don't see kitchen islands having fans and being loved by millions. And, in your analogy, most people aren't going to tear out their kitchen island because it was made by a criminal. Just because someone turns out to be a terrible person doesn't mean the art they produce needs to disappear or can't be appreciated. And it's not just artists who think that separating the art from the artist makes sense. If people can't do it, that's fine, but I get that thought. Some people's personalities make it hard for me to watch whatever they do. But, some people, I don't care, and I can separate it.
  6. At least when Eric is "basically unemployed," he doesn't resort to kidnapping defenseless women and then gaslighting his wife when she questions him about it, unlike certain inexplicably judgey Scottish thugs. And I don't think it'll be a great tragedy for Nicole to leave her "billionaire DA" husband since he's a judgmental sanctimonious rapist who was willing to let her think her son was dead.
  7. I don't think that's true. I think some characters are like that - off the top of my head - I would say people like Kristen, EJ, Xander, and Gwen. They're mostly remorseless for the bad things they've done and actually get huffy when their victims call them on it. But most characters aren't remorseless and apologize when they've hurt people. Leo is definitely one of the worst offenders when it comes to being remorseless and having the audacity to not only get annoyed when called out on bad behavior but seems mystified that that person is mad at him. Agreed. People say things like "so-and-so character/couple is unpopular" but what is that based on? It can't be based on this board, because like you say, it represents a very, very small percentage of the soap viewing audience. I'm not even sure Twitter is a good gauge of it, especially how toxic that place can get.
  8. Wait, wasn't one of the main reasons his verdict was overturned because the appellate court said it wasn't fair that accusers whose cases had never been tried in a court of law testified?
  9. I think we will probably get something closer to that. Nicole has been more introspective lately. I think she will acknowledge that what she did was wrong, but I think she'll still loathe Sloane and want her punished.
  10. I was rolling my eyes so hard. if it weren't for Maggie's presence I would have probably skipped those scenes altogether. I don't think they've retconned that Eric abandoned Holly. He talked about it when Holly was in a coma. She doesn't hold a grudge against him for it. I loved the hug between them and that she recognized his pain and felt for him. I thought Dan did give some subtle looks, but other than that, he did nothing in those scenes, so I'm not sure why they would be Emmy-worthy. As much as I want Eric to get his son back as soon as possible, I also want EJ to have time to bond with the baby. I want his pain to be as big as possible when his part in this comes out. I think the reunion scenes with Eric will be happy. However, it might depend on when they were filmed and if everyone necessary is involved in those scenes. I thought Nicole did come across as a bit hypocritical when she was raving about how horrible Sloane is & how she deserves to pay. I remember loathing her keeping the Mickey secret from Eric (though I also remember quite a few people acting like Eric had no business being mad at her and that it wasn't her secret to tell.) But, as pointed out, Nicole went to prison for the Sydney lie. Why wouldn't she want Sloane to face the same punishment? Whether or not you want to call it karma, two wrongs don't make a right. Nicole was clearly wronged here, and most people aren't going to shrug their shoulders and go, "Yep, I deserved it," when something this huge happens to them. I'm sure EJ will throw the Sydney lie back in her face when he tries to weasel out of accepting blame for what he's done. I wanted to focus on Eric's pain in that final scene today, but I thought the song playing was so HORRENDOUS and distracted me. Like I said, I am glad they hired an actual baby (and such a cute one) for Jude, but I did have one chuckle during that last scene with Eric looking at the picture of Jude imagining instead of the new baby, it being a picture of a bunch of blankets with no face.
  11. I usually try not to nitpick this stuff, but the part I couldn't get over was how Siobhan was going on about how her winning a Gotham Award made getting an Oscar nomination a lock. The Gotham Awards are not really a major industry precursor. BAFTAs, Golden Globes, SAGs, and even the Independent Spirit Awards are more important. Not that getting a Gotham Award isn't prestigious and can't be seen as a stepping stone, but it was not what Siobhan was making it out to be. I agree that some of the stuff is confusing as to whether it's real or a dream. Maybe that's what they're going for—disorienting the audience as much as Anna—but it's annoying. Part of that was not knowing if the bathroom incident was real. Yeah, it was callous of Anna, but it was so unbelievable that I had a hard time really holding it against Anna. I've seen some praise for Kim K (even some wild speculation that she has an outside chance at an Emmy nomination), but it feels like expectations were so low that her being less wooden than she's been in previous performances is being blown out of proportion. As someone else said, she's basically playing the same part Leslie Grossman played in the Double Feature season.
  12. Somewhat correct. Leo told EJ about the baby switch. When EJ confronted Sloane about it, she admitted that the baby was Nicole and Eric's child. EJ, being the swell guy he is, agrees with Sloane's plan to let her and Eric continue to raise the baby and let Nicole believe her son is dead. The only reason EJ changed his mind was because a drunk Nicole kissed Eric. EJ decided that the only way to keep them apart was to give Nicole her baby back - not because he loved his wife and wanted to ease her suffering - but because he figured she would quit her job to devote all her time to the baby and it would keep her away from Eric. He blackmailed Sloane to keep quiet about the baby's paternity by promising to help her flee the country.
  13. She'd already told him the baby wasn't his before he started crying. That tear certainly didn't look fake to me. Returning a child you find out isn't yours is not saintly. It's what a decent person would do, especially when the baby's real mother is someone you love. Sarah's reaction was understandable, especially given the psycho that is Rachel's real mother, but it wasn't any more realistic or rational than Eric's reaction. I don't feel bad for her at all. She's a grown-ass woman. Melinda didn't hold a gun to her head. Agreed on everything, but feeling bad for Sloan. Nobody forced her into this situation. And, for someone weeping about how much she loves Eric, she's deliberately screwing him over to save her skin. Also, I hated his character on Charmed (I was a big Piper/Leo fan), but I started loving him as Lucky on GH. I thought GV was great, and felt so bad for him. I did think the reveal to Nicole was weird and anticlimactic, but the devastation on his face was palpable. The only other good thing I'll say about the scenes was THANK GOD they hired a real baby (and such an ADORABLE one) and the anticlimax wasn't heightened even more by him handing over a barely stuffed blanket. I will not be joining in on any praise for EJ or his portrayer. I loathe that douche almost much as I loathe Xander. He's such a smug asshole.
  14. I don't have any real problem with Violet, but other than that, I agree. All of the stuff with Finn and Violet was great - and both actors did a wonderful job, but that was the part that struck me the most. I found out that you can die in your sleep when I was pretty young as well, but no one really explained it to me like Finn did, so I ended up being petrified to go to sleep. It's a phobia I still have to this day, so that moment felt so real to me. People talk a lot about the Violet actress not aging, but that flashback really shows how much she's grown—maybe not in height— but otherwise. I'm glad that Kristina realized that this should be Dex's decision and decided to support him if he wanted to press charges. I'm not a huge lover of Joss and Dex's relationship - or Joss - but I liked her conversation with Michael about her and Dex's relationship and how she didn't want to have one of those revolving-door relationships like Sonny and Carly. I like that at least one of their kids sees how toxic Sonny and Carly's pattern has always been. I loved the stand-off with Elizabeth and Finn. It did feel a little like whiplash because he'd been holding it in so well for Violet, but it kind of made sense because he had been forcing himself to hold it in for so long, plus the way Liz went about it. I think she tried to be as gentle as she could, but basically announcing she was taking his kid was not going to go over well, especially when he's grieving and has alcohol in his system after being clean for so many years.
  15. I don't know what the rules are for spoilers of other current shows, but can you please put a spoiler tag on this? I was not expecting to get spoiled for that, and others might have the same reaction.
  16. There's no way this show would portray Angel with the Black T-Shirt as homophobic in the slightest, especially since Sonny accepted Kristina's sexuality pretty well. No way they have Sonny handle something better than Jason.
  17. I’ve never had a problem with CM, either. And, thinking about his early AMC days, not only do Nina/Drew remind me of Kevin/Lucy, but they remind a bit of Ryan/Gillian, too.
  18. I definitely agree about the screwball aspect. There was a scene a few weeks ago where Nina was having computer issues and Drew came to her office and helped her out with it. Afterward, she immediately started talking a mile a minute about something, and Drew rolled his eyes. It wasn't in a "God, I hate you" way, but more like "Oh, that Nina." It reminded me of old-school Kevin and Lucy. The more laid-back with his troublemaking, flighty partner who exasperates him, but he loves anyway. Drew even has a serial killing twin, too.
  19. Echoing others, but definitely not the only one. I don't want to jinx it because it's in its early stages, but they are, by far, my favorite GH pairing in years. I liked Sonny/Nina, but I'm so glad that is done and has made way for this. It's not only that their sex scenes are hot (which they are), but their interplay and chemistry outside of that are so sparkling and witty. Plus, their interactions with their friends and family have been gold. Curtis' perplexed expression today while watching their banter was hilarious. When Nina spilled the beans about the sex, Maxie said, "The what now?" Her deadpan delivery was so perfect. And their relationships with Willow add an interesting dynamic as well. And, as others have said, Carly's head will explode. She'll probably get all huffy and self-righteous. "How could you possibly forgive her?!" And I want Drew to be like, "Hello, the woman who's gotten married a billion times to the man who shot her in the head." The show needs to end the Jordan/Drew chemistry testing. I'm very sorry if that relegates her to dealing with the "charming" (gag me) Brick, but the chemistry just isn't there. Also, there doesn't seem to be much story potential. What they need to do is bring back Portia's brother. He was hot and a good actor. There's a story they could mine there. With how Natalia has acted her last few appearances - pissing people off right and left - I'd almost suspect they were setting up some Silas Clay-style mini-murder mystery for her. I think TJ has been a colossal jerk in the last few episodes, but he has a legitimate gripe and a right to concern himself with how Kristina is taking care of herself. It doesn't give him the right to micromanage her. If Kristina was drinking or doing something truly outrageous, his concerns might seem more valid, but he's whining about her going to a freaking bridal shower and getting into a verbal argument. I also think his worry about Sonny is legitimate. People keep bringing up that he paid for TJ's schooling, but that doesn't mean he can't be realistic about the danger Sonny presents. I, personally, don't care how hypocritical it makes a character, I enjoy anyone finally having a come to Jesus moment about Sonny (wish people would feel this way about Jason) and realizing how toxic his presence is. The problem - as Molly pointed out - is that it's too late for those concerns now. TJ can shift the blame and say Molly pressured him to make Kristina the surrogate. But, bottom line, he went along with it. He can't suddenly be all, "but what about your dangerous dad." It also doesn't make sense because Sonny is Molly's uncle. The show wants to underplay that, but he will always be in their lives, no matter what.
  20. Danny doesn't have to have spent time around Jason to display traits similar to his or for people who know Jason to think he's acting like him in some ways. It's not an outlandish concept. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Liz also recently remarked about how she thought Jake was like Jason in some way—I can't remember the exact comment. Some teenagers don't like to talk to their parents, and some do. I think it was a bit odd for one incident to have Sam freaking out about Danny being like Jason, but lately, with seeing Danny more and seeing his already hero worship of Jason, I get her concern a lot more.
  21. Why would Carly have needed to know Jason Q to remark that she thought Danny was just like Jason? Carly wasn't saying he was just like teenage Jason; she was saying he reminded her of the Jason she knows. The same goes for Sam commenting on Danny not talking much. That is very much a Jason Morgan thing. And, at this point, Jason has been Jason Morgan longer than he was Jason Q. Of course when people talk about him being like his dad, Jason Morgan is who they're referring to.
  22. What does one have to do with the other? Wouldn't it be more apt to say if she gets nominated for this, while Robbie never got nominated for however many times she played Quinn? Robbie got plenty for playing Barbie—a truckload of money and lots of award nominations. It's just the teaser trailer. I'm actually shocked we got as much as we did.
  23. Wow, I’ve been feeling the Nina/Drew chemistry for a while now, but today was LIGHTNING fast. I could have imagined their first time being hate sex, but not this fast. The scenes kind of made no sense right from the beginning. It kind of felt like they had an old Carly/Jason script, scratched out their names, and put Nina and Drew’s name in their place. The way she barged into his office and started sharing her pain and expecting sympathy. They have nowhere near established that sort of a relationship, so it felt off. Then she pivots to her crazy “ put me on the Aurora board” idea. The turn the scene took after the ridiculous way Drew’s shirt came off was also whiplash-inducing. And, yet, screw it! That was hot! My God, that body! How does he look more ripped than when he was half that age? I can’t exactly blame Nina for her brain leaving the station and her hormones taking over. Let people on Twitter froth at the mouth. I don’t think they’re helping their cause by giving the TPTB what they want - a reaction. I think Olivia’s walk on whine fest and Diane spilling the beans to Jason about how Carly lost the Metro Court could be setting up Carly getting her half of the Metro Court back. Maybe I’ve watched too many Lifetime movies, but I felt like it was possible Jagger set up his beating so Carly could witness it and try to help - so she could let her guard down. Those scenes felt as lightning fast as Nina and Drew’s sex scene. Carly being so worried about him and refusing to leave. I just don’t buy it. I don’t how they expect a Jagger/Carly pairing could work. Even if he were willing to play second fiddle to Jason constantly, I can’t buy Carly being okay with dating a cop - an FBI agent. Even if he promised to never go after Jason or Sonny, I just don’t see it. I really hate the idea of Willow quitting nursing. This on top of Josslyn considering quitting going to med school. I know that a lot of people weren’t happy with that direction for Joss, but I like the idea of more younger generation characters wanting to work at GH. I know we have a lot of doctor characters already, but on a show called GH we should have more characters in the medical field - not less.
  24. I think that’s a little different since Lulu didn’t work at the hospital and certainly wasn’t co-chief of staff. No matter how emotional you are, I think someone of that position should have more decorum than to go on an extended rant screaming at people having a conversation. Alexis wasn’t even advocating for anything, but giving Kevin some explanations and Portia went off on her as if Alexis were proclaiming Heather’s innocence. I don’t think Laura’s being written as a pushover or naive. Heather was given a legitimate medical diagnosis. Laura isn’t like “yeah, let’s free her today.” She’s shown a healthy amount of hesitancy, but is open to finding out what that diagnosis entails and how it might have affected Heather’s personality and behavior.
  25. Why would he attempt to justify it? The whole reason he broke up with Carly in the first place is because he knows that he was just a placeholder. This would not be news to him because Carly basically confirmed it when they broke up. I don't get the big deal over that scene. Then again, I'm not someone who believes a man should never hit a woman (granted, she would need to hit him first). It happens—someone hurts you in some way, and you want to lash out at them (sometimes, physically). The important thing was that as much as Drew wished he could hit her, he knew that was a line he couldn't cross. Drew and Nina hurl insults at each other and metaphorically hit each other where it hurts (him talking about how alone she is, pointing out that Carly never wanted him.) As driver18 pointed out, it wouldn't make sense for their animosity towards each other to vanish immediately. I feel like I was watching different scenes between the two of them all this time because I've never once seen - especially since it came out that she turned them in - Nina cower and stand there and take it from Drew. She has always given as good as she got when Drew comes at her. And she always brings up that what she did was legal. Yesterday was not the first time. She even pointed that out in her fight with Olivia and Lois. I thought Olivia had a good point that Nina does not care about legal things. I remember her being more than a little upset when Sonny was justly arrested for assaulting Cyrus. I don't think she would have accepted "Well, it was perfectly legal" if she found out someone had turned him in. I think Nina and Drew have problems accepting culpability for how things turned out so rotten in their lives. They both pay lip service to it - 'Yeah, sure, I committed the crime.' 'Yeah, sure, maybe I shouldn't have turned them in.' - but there's always a BUT...
