Exactly because I have read many cases where guys like Bishop getting arrested say that and it really sends them up the river. Of course in Bishop's case it will send him to the MCU to be the husband of Kristin Ritter and have a baby named Daniel that will become the future Captain America with both of their powers and her godfather will be from the mystical city of K'un L'un where Michael J. Fox said on Spin City years ago he love to live.

That is beautiful. Love that about the cheating multiple choice because I can so see that. Like with Gina: Gina wanted a divorce because: A) Her marriage with Castle wasn't as story book as they thought? B) She found out she could order him around better as his editor then as his wife? C) Hated that he didn't talk about his dad enough?

Past Seasons Talk: A Mystery Writer and NYC Detectives Solve Crimes
readster replied to maraleia's topic in Castle [V]
This episode, season 7 premiere episode and Sleeper are really the three episodes to this date that I hate with a passion because they are so hacked eyed, contrived and you can even tell the actors are trying to sell the story. They are designed to be nothing more than: "Keep Castle and Beckett apart" episodes. The writers even admit it now they were designed to keep the wedding from happening and they let that define both seasons. Season 7 is head and shoulders above season 6 but wow! There are so many times the characters have to be so dumb about things not just Castle and Beckett but from Espo to Ryan to Lainie. Don't get me started on 3XK making "clones" to steal all evidence from the police. At least those episodes were creepy and well acted but it plays outside of comic book villain writing to bad cartoon writing because the writers simply did their best to force the issue because they didn't like it. It's what they wanted, not the fans or even the actors, they felt: "We don't like this so we are going to make everyone a moron and use the magic of tech to make it work. Because we will have the Moonlighting Curse!" -
Yeah, I can deal without either ex-wives because hearing the real story about why the marriages began to fall apart was because Rick didn't want to "share things" was just a poor excuse. Especially with Gina where she just decided to magically be there for Alexis when she was sick when she has been shown to not really give a damn either way. I like Castle's reasons for his marriages over the course of the first two seasons: "It felt right when we got married and there wasn't just one thing, I had my own faults in them too." Gina's excuse was more that Castle didn't want to talk about his father when he had no idea who he was for 40 years and Martha had only two thoughts who it was and one she never heard from again. For Jenna, I just saw it as they worked together fell in love and turned out it wasn't a story book romance as they both believed. Not to mention I think if Castle's college girlfriend's mother wouldn't have thought he was going to be a "loser" things might have turned out differently. Of course, that girlfriend's mother was the reason what tipped him to write his first novel so it worked out for him there. I'm sure she kicked herself later on after he was a success but wouldn't admit it. Had an old girlfriend's mother who thought the same and then sees where I am now and realizes she shouldn't have pushed her daughter into breaking up with me ten years ago. But hey, I'm happy with where I am and Castle is too.

I completely agree, Alex's personality just screams: "I'm smarter than you so I'm too good." I agree with others, regardless of boob size or wardrobe, Alex has never come across as a girl any type of guy would be interested in long term. I mean her talk about the statue or how she manipulated Mich and Cam with the museum earlier in the season proves that. I think it went too far with Phil and especially Claire thinking Alex couldn't have a boyfriend and she was making it up. If we would have seen Alex you know... date over the last few seasons. Not the awkward guy she meets on a college tour or taking someone who is gay to prom, I think there would be a different view of her. Unlike Luke who is so stupid and does such stupid things you know why most girls ignore him or why he talks about having such a hard time dating while Manny isn't having that problem. As Manny said: "What girls thought was annoying about me, they find charming."
-
I completely agree instead it was more: "How can we delay getting them together or married." Instead of: "How would you feel if someone like this was your future stepmother?" "How would effect you and how would you deal with it?" Of course then became: "How about we come up with a great idea for a boyfriend who is everything Alexis isn't named: Pi. Yeah, it almost writes itself."

This really proved on how they really missed the boat on using Alexis and her relationship with Beckett. I mean there were tons of stories that could have happened between the two. I mean, granted Alexis is an adult now but Beckett is a stepmother now, how does that reflect her relationship with Castle? This episode once I got past the fact that it was an Oceanic Flight and the entire Hudson University reference was a nice father/daughter story but it wasn't as good as it could be. The entire passport with the student trying to get home to his sick mother was a bit much. He would have had to gone through a lot more effort to make it through TSA with a stolen passport. Of course, the entire thing with the TSA varies from airport to airport. You have agents who scan your IDs like you are going to the White House and then you have others who go: "Yeah, looks like you, have a good flight." The pilot shouldn't have been shown at all, if it looks like a possible terrorist plot they are alerted and locked up but nice they show women pilots. I actually thought it was the male attendant until I realized he was right handed. It was ok but coming off of the last two episodes, I felt like it was way out of place.

That's the problem even with the death of this big of a character. Derek will be forgotten before you know it. I agree with Will, his death is still felt on GW even though the show has really downward spiral horribly. Rarely shows really show that the death of a character is long reaching like in real life. An example would be my wife's uncle who died ten years ago. While not thought of and talked about a lot, his death does still come up on things regularly from family events to holidays. I mean for the first time in forever Lexi and Greg were brought up. Last time we heard about George was that What If dream Meredith thought of or how about Meredeth's other sister who hasn't been heard of since season 2 and was only brought up in season 5 once. Private Practice loved to bring up Dell's death many times because it affected the characters greatly and his daughter was still a fixture to a lot of the story lines. Yet, when they killed off Pete everyone could have cared less. Its like with Reed's death during the shooting. For someone that apparently was a best friend and so highly talked about with the original Mercy West interns, you never hear anything on her.

Its funny how Geneva just magically got everything set up for Bishop so fast that Dexter was in a tailspin. However, if Bishop wanted him dead I think Dexter would have been more worried keeping a low profile than going to where he knew people would look for him. I agree this was the best way to take care of Bishop and get Geneva to just shut up finally. I do enjoy how the way everyone was going no one once set: "I'm sorry, we are lawyers and we can't give away privileged information on our clients." "Its one of the first questions on the bar. Didn't you take it?" Horrible exit for Kalinda and the COTW was really flat and could have been interesting but it just wasn't. Also, RJ turning tails because Alicia was coming back to the firm and didn't want to be around associations with the scandals. I'm sorry have you lived in Illinois or been around for the last 40 years? It wasn't just Blagojevich and Ryan there were many, many more on both sides of the parties. I don't get even in modern times how politicians keep acting like no one has ever been caught in a scandal in any state over the stupidest or most public of reasons. Of course in politics its: "Lalalala, can't hear you, I'm right and you are wrong."

Nineteen Eighty-something: Anachronisms, and Cultural Touchstones
readster replied to Kromm's topic in The Goldbergs
Which is very true and I remember an interview with the WY creators they wanted to touch on specific moments in history with the WY and why they set it in the year they did. Even saying no matter how long the show goes on they have the historical references to work out the storylines but they didn't want to focus or milk off of that. It worked too coming off of the hippy and vietnam era of the 60s to the midpoints of the 70s before the disco era. Goldberts works with the various 80s references. I was two when the 80s begin but I can watch and get tons of references and toys, TV shows, ect. My wife who is the same age as real Adam has several go over her heads while many she goes: "I remember that." -
S08.E22: The Graduation Transmission
readster replied to photo fox's topic in The Big Bang Theory [V]
Sadly it seems the show has started crossing over to that. I mean they don't need to have blowing their money on collectibles that are worth 10K or computer or robotic items that are in the $800 and above. They apparently also have unknown student loans even though they should have had scholarships and graduated early from school, yet they can fly anywhere with a thought even though they don't go on high end cruises or vacations. In fact the entire BB Crew have been shown to be so socially awkward and such penny pinchers over the years. They shouldn't be the way they are. Yet, the writers think they should be spoiled Peter Pan adults who at times can't tie their shoes but can solve complex formulas or come up with learning theories and get the big bucks for it. That's what is slowly killing the show. -
Yeah but Gloria does have a 3 year old at home that takes up a lot of her energy most of the time. Mitch is busy running around doing his job, pleasing Cam's constant whining and Lily's various activities. I can see how tired they can get so easily.

S06.E26: ZinePak, SnagaStool, Buck Mason, Noene USA
readster replied to yeswedo's topic in Shark Tank
I actually liked the clothing line but they were very stupid not to take that deal. Mark and Daymond really had a great deal there. Its funny my wife says that most of these guys should just come in and saying they want the Sharks to have a 20% or more stake in their companies because they rarely get an offer that isn't below 25%. Happy about the insert football player but that bar stool idea was not well thought out. I was with Kevin, its not that people won't pay for it or invest but they are no where in enough bars or have enough of thought out process with it. -
They do? I thought SWAT teams don't take down well known shooters. They just shoot them in the arm and watch them kill tons of more people and then let them kill themselves when they want to capture. Or they yell at the shooters on college campuses after they have already shot everyone in sight and then have them shoot themselves. Or how paramedics can just grab a person who was just hit with a homemade rocket launcher and the police don't check what caused the situation or anything. Or how they don't come to rescue areas when they know an ambulance broke down in the middle of winter and the know a baby and two doctors are stranded because the driver said: "Screw you, you can die here. I'm walking."

Completely agree, I can see that the entire Castle situation comes back up because of a case similar to what happened there. Castle then comes clean about it to everyone's shock but we see just how it influenced his life. I can even see it as something Martha is shocked that Rick could never trust her with or if the incident happened but the police soon showed up and he left. However, it doesn't mean it was why the CIA did the stupid memory wipe or anything. Just that he might have seen or noticed something and the case was never solved. At least with Beckett's storyline that has been building all year so I can see this coming to an end with either her passing the test and either finding out she is pregnant or has a preg scare that makes her think if that's what she wants.

I have a relative from Philly and he said Kmart would have made much more sense.

Same here, not until 3 Am but I could get there most easily. Now, not possible.

It was actually suppose to be in Emily Says Hello where Jackson basically comes into Taylor's store saying he is giving him his job back. The scene was cut from the script originally because the episode was too long. Of course as a result, Taylor was just magically Selectman again. That was also one of the few times that they actually did what a town selectman really does in real life. The drawing of district lines, papers for property, ect. It felt like all of a sudden the writers wanted to put in that Taylor really did have a job to do but then decided to go back to: "Taylor the Dictator" because they didn't want to try and do both the build up and resolution to Jackson having his job. It was so rushed and as I said, it was cut from the script on how it was resolved. I also hated how Taylor wanted things just done not talk, no professional meetings or anything. He just wanted something, the town wanted him to shut up and go away so they agreed on his stuff. It made Stars Hollow look extremely stupid and it was old after season 2.

I really enjoyed it but yeah, saw Jay ruining everything at the end but the rest was great. My wife and I can completely identify with Mitch and Gloria. We are like that too, it comes 10 pm and we are like: "Let's go to bed." While our son wants to be up at all hours and never slows down. First time I really enjoyed the neighbors and the story worked out great. However, Luke has turned into that: "We have no idea what to do with the character and the actor is phoning it in now." I mean at the end that was too much. Alex originally loving the statue but then realizing where everyone was coming from with Luke's drawing was great. The statue neighbors like Alex adored the statue and didn't care what anyone else thought. However, what they like others didn't and even Buddy the Cop didn't like it but he had to uphold the law.

Hey we have serial killers who can outwit the police and the FBI. Have secret mansions out in the middle of the woods and turn people evil by saying they are. We had a group of rogue military that were trying to cause a new 9/11 because they felt that would make the US finally take care of Libya. Former CIA father's who aren't revealed until their old "enemies" decide to get some payback 30 years later. Former Russian Sleeper Agents trying to cause WW3 because the Soviet Union was gone and they had no real country. Now we have a murder on a plane coming up with only Castle and Alexis able to solve it. Sad to say, the writers have been looking over previous episodes of Bones, X-Files, Alias and No Ordinary Family recently. Defecting Al Qaeda agents who went to school with Castle in Thailand and for some reason was in Montreal. It makes you wonder why we didn't see something like this coming.
-
Very true, shows like: X-Files, Alias, CSI, Prison Break, Grey's Anatomy, ER, Everwood, Brothers & Sisters, Smallville have been series where it just became such a hassle to not only follow but when the TPTB were bent on making shows last longer than they should have or trying to work things around actors leaving or writing changing. I've seen many shows keep it going from: Stargate, Star Trek, Fringe and of course Lost that kept it going. Even if they were lost a few times they found a way to make it work. Here with this story idea it was just poorly planned and was more along the lines of: "We don't want them married." that really messed things up. Here you have such a forced story to get what the creators wanted not what the fans or where the characters were going. I mean if they are doing what they plan in the season finale with what happened to Castle was what lead him to be where he is. That is mythology but it doesn't change the characters. Its like with Beckett's mythology that engulfed the show for 6 seasons. When you look at it, everything lined up and it all traced back Kate and her family and loved ones paying for something stupid a young cop got himself involved with. Even if the conclusion as rushed. Let's face it, in life we end up causing a domino effect over something we don't believe is going to ruin things but it does. Here with the entire terrorist CIA cover up. It didn't add anything at all because the only reason Rick was used was because he was told about the lives in danger and an old classmate and he was a "world figure." Nothing aligned correctly at all from the CIA causing the car explosions, the time table, the injury or the characters acting like they hadn't gone through this crap for the last 6 years. It was: "Castle ran out on his wedding for no good reason, oh wait... its a conspiracy mythology that will make sense in the end." Instead, it didn't and there was no natural steps in the story like with Beckett's. It was all thrown over because the writers and producers didn't want to try and make Caskett work as a regular coupled. They just gave up.
-
Exactly. It was never thought out. The entire shooting could have been easy with the reveal about what happened in Thailand but the money drop and Montreal make no sense outside to think that it was deversion from the real mission. to make it look like Castle ran out on his wedding like the camping site. Of course, replacing the guy and altering the records to make it look like the douche CIA agent really was horribly done. That made no sense.
-
Bingo! Classic: "We can't marry our main cast members off... we will hit the MOONLIGHTING CURSE!" Hey Hollywood... GET OVER IT!
-
Same with how Espo always throws Castle under the bus and not like someone who Castle has even saved his life and cleared his old partner's name and so forth for the last 6 years. As said above: "Espo doubts Castle when he has no good reason too... check!" The code word works because he said himself, no one knows about what happened that day in the woods. Not Martha, not Kate, not his ex-wives not even Alexis. However, I think it does go more that the CIA agent did something extreme and that was too much for Castle. Him doing it so the bad guys wouldn't look him up when the defector and his bodyguard were within miles of each other in the SAME CITY! I mean that is just completely stupid or the fact they didn't have the guy's face altered so he didn't still look like himself. Because I love the fact that he had all the original pictures and everything at his apartment safe house. Also, the CIA would have known the former army guy was dead they would have moved him out almost immediately and then just set it up to kill the assassin who didn't know better. Oh this was just so bad of an episode. I can't wait until next week to see how a person stuck a gun on a plane in this day and age.
-
That's what really made it horrible. The entire car crash with Castle was beyond unnecessary and made the CIA look like the biggest morons of course look at Linch Pin and Beckett's FBI short live days. Everyone who is in any type of police force are completely idiots. How about how the FBI were outwitted by 3XK and his unlimited resources. Or how about Bracken being "untouchable" until the magical white elephant tape was found. I would have loved to seen the the conversation between Castle and the CIA agent. 1. Mr. Castle.... blah blah blah 10s of thousands of lives at stake. 2. Castle: Wow, ok, I'll do this. 3 CIA: Burn the car! 4. Castle What? I don't think I want to remember any of this when its all over. 5. CIA: He said it! Get the set up ready in case he lives through this. 2 weeks later... 1. Castle: That was horrible and I can't believe I missed my wedding for this and everyone thinks I'm dead or kidnapped. 2. CIA: Don't worry, you won't remember any of this. *Clunk* 3. Other CIA Agent: How are we getting him back to the city? 4: CIA Agent: Shoot him, put his stuff to look like he was out camping and set him on a boat we will report stolen. 5. Other CIA Agent: How does that make sense? Also, why are we dropping out sleeper in the same city as him? Also, why hasn't his father come looking for him considering he use to be one of us? 6. CIA Agent: Don't ask relevant questions. Just do it!
