  1. I agree that if Dean hadn't thrown the amulet away and had been wearing it during the fight with Lucifer I can completely buy that the memory of Sam giving it to him would have broken through Lucifer's hold. The plastic soldier....not so much. Gabriel said it in Changing Channels.
  2. This is completely off of the current debate but I loved the amulet after it was shown how it was gifted to Dean and how much it seemed to mean to both brothers.
  3. That sounds vile and it would have been completely unwatchable. If that was his original vision then he should have just created a show about Sam and his demon hunting adventures.
  4. I highly doubt that minority actors are such a rarity that they can't find more than one or two every few seasons to include. I remember when the X-Files filmed in Vancouver and even Suits which I followed for a few years had the same stipulations in regards to picking from the available Canadian actors before looking elsewhere and as I recall both shows had more diversity. I understand many people may not agree and I don't expect them to.
  5. If the primary groups consist of persons of Asian ethnicity than there could be more representation of them as well. It would certainly be better than the long running Busty Asian Beauties gag. I find that disgusting but maybe I'm a prude.
  6. I agree with your points that there are many ways that they could include more black characters. I was pleasantly surprised with Max and Alicia from the Asa Fox ep and happy that they weren't one of the casualties at the end of the show. That being said I hope that they appear again and weren't a one off. I don't know if you're aware of this but I read recently that Missouri was supposed to appear more than once but the actress was unavailable. The character of Bobby was created to be their mentor instead. Maybe if she had stuck around she would have been more fleshed out than she was shown in Home. As to the angels I am 100% behind you on this. I don't know who was worse: Raphael or Uriel. Joshua was probably one of the kindest angels we've seen but since he was supposed to watch over the garden ( I think? ) I assume that's why he wasn't shown again.
  7. Mean is the perfect way to describe her. From the beginning when she basically bullied Sam into taking the dog with him and he just cowered when she ripped into him. I definitely believe that he stayed with her out of loneliness, not love.
  8. Crap, I can't believe I forgot that; maybe because I don't rewatch that ep because it's ultimately so depressing :(
  9. Did they ever get it back after Bela stole it in season 3? I can't remember...
  10. Hello all, I previously posted this question in All Episodes Talk but per a helpful suggestion from @RulerofallIsurvey I'm posting it here as well. Is Previously TV still posting Supernatural recaps/reviews? I haven't seen a new one since the third episode. No biggie, just curious.
  11. While I wish that there were more representation of us on this show I feel that the characters that you mentioned all have good or understandable traits: Rufus: A little rough around the edges but basically the black version of Bobby. His gruffness when first meeting Dean was due to the fact that while he knew of the Winchesters he didn't know that personally and he took offense to Dean's familiarity when addressing him. Isaac and Tamara: Good hunters but not so different from Walt and Roy that gunned down the brothers in Dark Side of the Moon. The latter were angry that they started the apocalypse, the former for them opening the Devil's Gate and potentially bringing Hell on Earth for everyone. Jake: Influenced by Azazel, seen to have a moment of conscience after he believed Sam to be dead but ultimately embraced evil. Written as all of the children influenced by the YED so he can't really be singled out. Gordon: I agree; total asshole but his single mindedness was partly due to his sister being turned into a vamp. Also from his outsider point of view what he'd heard of Sam regarding the demon affiliation brought upon the reaction that every hunter would have had save Dean and Bobby. Henrikson: With the facts that he had on hand from a law enforcement point of view there was no reason for him not to go after the brothers. As an FBI agent they absolutely should have been on the most wanted list which doesn't make him a villian in my eyes merely someone trying to bring what he feels to be two psychopaths to justice. Once he knew the truth he changed his tune ( and was killed damnit!!!!!) I wholeheartedly agree that Uriel and Raphael were atrocious; even more so because they were angels. Then again, none of the angels save Castiel have been good in my opinion. Alpha Vamp may be a dick but again he's a vampire and at least he hasn't been killed yet *shrugs* Not trying to undermine your opinion but I thought you might be interested in a different viewpoint from a woman of color.
  12. Thank you for responding! I was starting to wonder if it was because I should have posted my question in different thread :)
  13. Yes and I'd also add Asa Fox's twins to that list. It would be nice to see the guys socialize with other hunters.
  14. Ha! I enjoyed all of the Dick jokes throughout season 7 :)
  15. Wow you definitely thought of some good ones! I guess I need to do some rewatching of season 7 :)
  16. There have been many characters throughout the course of 12 seasons that we would either like to see again or just a resolution from their last appearance. Who are yours? I'll start by naming mine: Season 1: Missouri Mosley from Home. She is aware of the hunting life and the supernatural as well as being well acquainted with the Winchesters. It would be nice to see her again. Season 2: Molly McNamara from Roadkill. Sam and Dean have helped so many people in their lifetime and they help Molly let go and ascend to Heaven. Is she happy? Did things go south after Metatron took over? Season 3: Tamara from The Magnificent Seven. A fellow hunter who lost her hunter husband after the Devil's Gate was opened. What became of her after she chose to go it alone? Season 4: The pregnant wife of the Rugaru in Metamorphosis. Has her child become a Rugaru as well? Season 5: Jesse from I Believe the Children Are Our Future. Why was the fact that the Anti Christ is out there never revisited!!?? Season 6: Like a Virgin. Were any of the woman kidnapped from the dragon reunited with their families after the fight between the captors and the Winchesters? Season 7: I got nothing... Season 8: Ellie from Trial and Error. Was she able to duck Crowley and avoid her deal and going to Hell? Season 9: Garth in Sharp Teeth. Yes, we've seen this character multiple times but what became of him after becoming a werewolf? Has he encountered other hunters that weren't as understanding as Sam and Dean? Season 10: Bobby Inside Man. Again yes Bobby isn't a new character but what the hell happened to him after the Angels cornered him in his Heaven?? Season 11: Jessy and Cesar from The Chitters. Seeing the Asa Fox episode made me want the guys to hang out with other hunters on occasion. These were good guys; will we see them again? Season 12 is too early to tell. Anyone else have similar thoughts?
  17. Maybe it is the boards that you visited. I've only been in fandom for a little over a year but from my reading it's mostly been that Dean was a dick for not understanding that Sam wanted a normal life & he hurt his brother by declaring Benny to be a replacement in season 8 and being needy and selfish for allowing Gadreel to possess Sam in season 9.
  18. I agree with all of this especially "Dean might be right a lot of the time but I find Sam is the one that gets validated". What I find to be interesting is that fans tend to blame Dean for being selfish and needy through his actions and when Sam does something distasteful it's deemed to be bad writing because it's not in his character. They're both characters; if they both come off as dicks it's because they were written that way.
  19. Don't forget while bearing the MOC he also beat the crap out of Cas, caused Rudy to die via vampire and told Sam that he should be dead instead of Charlie. In regards to the demon blood Sam may have started the apocalypse but Dean broke the 1st seal. Sam was Lucifer's vessel but he also jumped into the cage to prevent the apocalypse from occurring which was definitely heroic. I don't think that Dean gets a pass for all he has done but for the most part Sam is shown in a better light.
  20. The writing in season 8 for both Sam and Dean was awful. Dean deciding a vampire was a better brother and Sam shacking up with a completely unlikable woman and washing his hands of hunting was completely out of character for both of them. Dean has never had a high opinion of himself but always puts Sam above himself. For him to say something so intentionally hurtful was not a Dean Winchester thing to do.
  21. People seem to have mixed feelings about Benny. I can take or leave him myself. He along with Ruby were plot devices in my eyes to get between the brothers and fans have mixed feelings about her as well. He may have been a considered a good guy for helping Dean in Purgatory but his actions could have been seen as self serving to ride the human out into the real world which makes him more gray in my opinion.
