  1. I hope the rabid Valentina fans feel a little foolish. She's got a nasty personality!
  2. This!!! That drove me crazy, and I generally like Shea. Sasha's still my favorite, although I seem to be the only one here. But Trinity has been such a pleasant surprise for me that I wouldn't be upset (much) if she won the crown.
  3. Michelle Ragusis!! I really wanted her to win...still follow her on social media.
  4. She does for me. I absolutely adore Sasha, and I can't take my eyes off her when she's on screen. She fully commits, she's smart, she has a high fashion edge, and I love her face.
  5. Would've been a helluva lot better than what we got. Although I don't dislike Sarah.
  6. Dreading this next bit with Varner and Zeke. Varner is going to get his ass raked across the coals, and while he did a vile, indefensible thing, I can't help but feel empathy for his situation.
  7. How was Ru being over dramatic by asking Valentina to remove the mask? It's a lip sync for your life, not a dance off. Yes, they need to move, too (sorry, Charlie), but they provide them with music and headphones so they can practice and know the words to the song, so obviously that matters. Valentina obviously let her track record go to her head, and didn't think she'd be in a position she couldn't charm her way out of. Her fans on social media are so OTT it's ridiculous. The more I see of them, the less I like Valentina, but I'm sure she's a future All Stars lock.
  8. I'm actually loving this season more than Season Eight...that one felt like such a straightforward march to Bob's coronation that the whole thing was dull as dishwater. Even Season Seven was pretty lackluster, aside from Katya and some great looks from Violet. I think Sasha, Shea, Trinity, and Peppermint are great, and I'm actually surprised by that because pre-season the only one of them I liked even a little was Sasha. Trinity has been far more interesting to me than Valentina ever was...the pageant queens are rarely so funny or interesting. I'm not in on the whole conspiracy thing. I think miss Valentina got over-confident and over-comfortable because she had always placed either high or safe, and that's what led to her downfall. Doesn't bother me that she's gone.
  9. I want to see David win just because. But both Normani and Rashad are deserving and I wouldn't be upset with a win by any of the three. Simone is an amazing gymnast and I love her there. But her dancing never did a thing for me. I'd watch her eyes and they were always cutting to the side, like she was looking for a clue as to what came next. She never once seemed connected to Sasha in any way, and I couldn't care less that she was eliminated before the finale.
  10. This season has been very up and down for me, as far as my opinions on the queens. After the first episode, I thought Nina, Sasha, and Eureka were very solid. I loved Charlie, liked Alexis, and thought Valentina was a pleasant surprise. Now, I still love Sasha, but everyone and everything else is flipped around. I adore Shea and Trinity, although Trinity's track record is spotty. I think Alexis is beautiful but not much else. Peppermint has grown on me so much, Valentina is beginning to bore me, and Nina gets on my very last nerve.
  11. I'm fairly certain that "letter" is completely fake. Bette had a mouth on her, and she always said what she thought, but a letter like that is not her style, in my opinion. Plus, I can't find any source for it.
  12. Well, considering that an eight of an inch in foot length can send you up a half size in shoes, I don't necessarily think those sizes would be so far off. So my size 8.5 foot might only be a little over an inch longer than Joan Crawford's dainty little size 4 foot. With the article above stating that feet appear to be growing larger with each generation (And why not? Our bodies have gotten taller and wider, too.), it hardly seems unusual that 90 years ago, so many of these stars had "tiny" feet. What surprised me most about that chart is Joan Crawford admitting to a 37" hip! That seems rather voluptuous for as petite as she was.
  13. I love that song so much, I named my Bette Davis Pinterest board "All The Boys Think She's A Spy"!!
  14. It was dubbed by Joan. Allegedly, she was quite proud of the fact that Bette was unable to imitate her, since so many people were able to imitate Bette's rather distinctive voice and cadence.
  15. Funny thing is, I find them almost as unimaginable applied to Bette Davis! She was actually quite lovely well into her 30s, and was never some unsightly, eye-searing hag...unless she chose to play one. But I agree that Susan Sarandon doesn't have even an edge of the plain-Jane quality Bette herself thought she possessed. She's really quite lovely, for any age.
  16. Thing is, Bette wasn't mocking Joan, although I see how it plays that way. She was impressed that Joan was able to do that sequence of events in one fluid movement, and capture it in a single take. She says as much, and it is mentioned in more than one bio of Bette that she admired that.
  17. I can't hate the man. He is being raked over the coals on social media, he's lost his job, and he's feeling suicidal...what more do people want from him? He literally can't say or do anything that will make this all okay, but I do think he's tried and is trying. What he did was so reprehensible, so nasty...but I think it's what he did, and not who he is. And I can't help but feel empathy for him...he hurt himself as much as...or maybe even more than...he hurt Zeke.
  18. One of my favorites! It was HOT!
  19. I think that in drag, Charlie and Sasha are both just visually stunning. At least Sasha can perform (I thought she was awesome last week, too), but I was really annoyed with Charlie for giving zero effort in the LSFYL. I think Aja is...unfortunate looking, both in and out of drag. I still love Nina Bo'Nina Brown, Sasha Velour, and Shea Coulee; I'm completely won over by Valentina; and if Eureka would get the O'Hara chip off her shoulder, I'd love her, too. I never cared about Cynthia one way or the other and I still don't. Trinity is one I want to like way more than I actually do. I don't care enough about the rest to root for or against them.
  20. Bette Davis herself thought she wasn't beautiful. I always thought she was. Then again, she thought Katherine Hepburn was both beautiful and spectacularly talented, and I have never liked Katherine Hepburn in anything, and found her very plain. Different strokes...
  21. Can I love this comment times 1,000?! I have occasionally found Joan interesting looking, most notably in Mildred Pierce (something about the film noir quality of the photograpy, I assume), but I have never really found her beautiful. And in her early Hollywood period, during her silent picture days, I thought she was decidedly homely. Everybody has their own standard of beauty, of course, and I understand that. But when people go on about how lovely she was, I can just never see it.
  22. Bette on The Andy Williams Show...there is so much more than the Baby Jane song.
  23. I knew. I knew last season Zeke played. And I was so afraid that was what Varner was planning to use against him, as though that fact made Zeke less than worthy of continuing to play. I also know I should despise Varner for what he did, because honestly, it's just terrible. But he genuinely seemed appalled at his own behavior, and Zeke, Tai, and Andrea did seem to accept his apology. If Zeke can accept it and even hug the man after what he did to him, who am I to call for the tar and feathers?? It was still despicable, Varner, and I always loved you...so you have quite a ways to go to redemption, sir.
  24. Personally, I think seeing someone outside of where you expect to see them can really throw you off, too. I realize it's on a far smaller scale, but when I was working retail in Little Rock, a man came in to our store and spent an hour or so shopping. I recognized his face and even his voice, but couldn't place him at all. I just knew I knew him from somewhere, but until he checked out and I saw his credit card, I didn't realize it was the weatherman I watched on TV every single night.
