I haven't watched enough of this show to have strong opinions on any of the pros, but my Lord, Sharna is just gorgeous! I love her with James (who I never heard of before this season, but absolutely adore!), and hope she can come back before the finale (where I definitely expect to see James) and lead him to the win. I think they have mad chemistry. Did James shave his beard off for tonight!? With the make-up it was hard to be sure, but I could see the cleft in his chin so I thought maybe he did. Laurie's dance was so, so pretty... Calvin's was really good. And I was surprised to find myself sorry to see Ryan leave.

I found it highly satisfying to watch Figgy's (whose real name is Jessica, BTW) smug expression disappear with the very first vote against her. I mean, who did she think Jessica and Ken were going to vote for? Didn't it even occur to her that her name could be written down?! And then her sniffling stroll away from TC...ahhhh, what a joy to see her torch snuffed and her toothy, Julia Roberts-ish smile leave my screen. Thank you, Adam!!

I really wanted to watch this season to root for Laurie and to hope Ryan was first out so I could laugh at his stupid/douche ass as it went out the door. I still like Laurie because she's just darling, but I love Calvin and I flipping ADORE James...and Ryan is slowly but surely worming his way back into my good graces. He honestly seems like a lumbering, relatively harmless dork. Calvin is quite good, but James is very impressive...he and Sharna always have a full storyline to their dances, and he is fully committed down to his fingertips. I really, really want him to win!

Oh, Maureen. I'm almost as old as she is and I worshipped Marcia Brady growing up, but I'm so exhausted after watching her. I give her mad props for a lot of things, but she seems very high maintenance and although she seems sweet, she wears me out. I hated Jana and Gleb, but whatever. One of my friends was going on about how hot it was, but for me, the only thing missing was the pole. I loved Calvin...I want him to last a long, long time so I can keep watching him. And those flips were awesome! I still unabashedly love James. Finally, where the hell is Ryan getting all these votes from, to not even be in the bottom?! He's yet to perform well on the dance floor, and he's pretty much a douche-canoe. He's got to go soon, right? Please...tell me I'm right!

They did try to trade their comfort reward for fishing gear, but Gen X had the right to deny them that, and they did.

I thought the color had gone out on my TV.

I tuned in this season solely to watch Laurie Hernandez. She makes me think of my granddaughter, who is a 13-year-old gymnast with that same kind of personality. And darned if I don't find myself putting all my votes into Calvin and James. Calvin is so fun and engaging, and James is just so incredibly talented! I also love Maureen, and I'm not even sorry about it,

S02.E07: Family That Drags Together
CraftyHazel replied to ElectricBoogaloo's topic in RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars
Alaska sure acted like a spoiled brat tonight. I may have to rescind my unqualified love for her after that. Detox, I still love, but I feel like she won for showing off her ass...ets, rather than anything else. Sigh...Katya gets no respect. -
Awwww, I'm going to miss Vanilla Ice! He always seemed to be enjoying himself, no matter what. All of the celebrities eliminated so far have been men...I don't watch every year; does it usually slant that way? Because unless Ryan has some huge fan base, I can't imagine him going much further, and if Jena and Amber outlast him? I'll be annoyed, and I don't actually even like Ryan Lochte! James in danger of elimination? That better have been bullshit. He's really good and I think his personality is so cute.

Calvin was underscored. That was a very busy routine and he did it well. He deserved a 9 as much as Terra did. Speaking of Terra, I almost liked her tonight. I can't seem to warm up to her, but tonight she was good! I have a soft spot for Maureen, but she really needs to stop crying over every little thing. Jana and Gleb, well, I'm a little biased in favor of this, because I love "Here Comes The Sun" so much, and they looked gorgeous. Marilu, meh. I'm not sure why, but I just do not like her. I actually really liked Amber's dance a lot tonight. Ryan has improved considerably over even last week. He actually danced! (When Bruno was giving his critique, did someone in the audience shout out "You're a cheater!"? Because Ryan's a liar and a douche, but did he cheat at something? I missed it if he did.) Poor Babyface. That was...not good. Laurie sizzled tonight! She actually put some sexuality into that, as opposed to just being cute Laurie. And her natural hair is gorgeous! Vanilla Ice did well, considering his schedule. I definitely can see improvement. James, I really do love. He's quite talented, and has personality and charm to spare. Loved his dance tonight!

When Brik's sad little shift hit the runway and didn't transform at all, I thought surely he'd be gone...but nope. I didn't like Jenni's look and I don't like Jenni, period. And Cornelius is the biggest shit-stirrer in years...what an arrogant little tool he is. Roberi ought to have been in the top three. Just sayin'. **And is it just me, or does anyone else look at Alex and think he's holding a pin/needle in his mouth, before remembering it's a piercing?
-
I'd rather see another week of Ricky and his clumsy stomping than Amber and her stank attitude...or Terra, who I just can't warm up to, no matter how I try. Maureen is still really pretty. And I just love Calvin!

S02.E05: Revenge Of The Queens
CraftyHazel replied to Tara Ariano's topic in RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars
I finally got to watch this episode, thank goodness!! I neither like nor dislike Tatianna, but she deserves the chance to return. Thankful that Alyssa got to, as well. What has happened to Katya?! Her bit with Ginger wasn't very funny, and she seemed to be checked out of it. She can be sooooooo funny on her own channel, and with Trixie, and her talking heads are awesome...but she isn't clicking for me this season. Still love her, though. Roxxy really is beautiful, and is cute as a boy, too. But that's all I ever really get from her. Phi Phi, I just can't. She can't seem to own up to her behavior, and it drives me nuts because I have friends like that. One coworker, also, who is always whining about how unfair it is that the boss makes the rules, blah blah blah. Just leave, if you're unhappy!!! Phi Phi and coworker alike...why make everyone else around you miserable, just because you are?! -
I can already sense a whiff of Gretchen-ism in Erin. The defensive, petulant look on her face when Heidi said the sleeve didn't appeal to her was pretty OTT for someone who's being praised to the nines for a...let's be real, here...ugly, unflattering dress. And besides that, her like, speech pattens, like, bug me, because like, she says like, like way more than she like, needs to. I'm fine with Linda leaving. That kimono was terrible, and the dress was almost as bad. Cornelius is going for the bitch edit, I see. If you're going to ask the designers to design for the everyday woman, the designs need to look good on a wide range of body types. 90% of what walked that runway wouldn't look good on anyone over a size 6 or 8.

I was unhappy to see Maureen in the bottom group, and happy when she was the first of that group to be announced as safe. I can't help but like her. The behind-the-scenes stuff makes me like some of the stars more, and some a lot less. I honestly am not the least bit interested in Marilu Henner, so the sooner she's gone, the better for me. And I'm as gullible and easily persuaded as they come, so I'm having to work at continuing to not like Ryan much. Disliked Jake (buh-bye!), and I'm not wild about Terra, either. I'll be damned, though, that they have me liking James and Vanilla Ice! I've always been sure Vanilla Ice is a massive tool and I dislike racing and all of that in general, so I didn't expect to think much of James. I really like him, though.

I will confess that I know next to nothing about dance, I only know what makes me smile or sigh contentedly. Having said that, I loved Maureen, Calvin, and Laurie. That's all I got...

S02.E04: Drag Movie Shequels
CraftyHazel replied to Tara Ariano's topic in RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars
I'm so sad that Alyssa's gone...well, for now at least. I have literally never been a fan of hers, never even liked her a little, until AS2, and now poof!, she's gone. And Katya, my favorite queen of all time in the bottom again?? I'm verklempt! -
I absolutely can't stand Ryan Lochte, but I almost felt bad for him. I mean seriously, people...it's not like he's OJ Simpson or something. I just love Laurie Hernandez, so if she takes it all, that's fine by me. And Vanilla Ice was fun!

S02.E03: HERstory Of The World
CraftyHazel replied to Tara Ariano's topic in RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars
This!!!! I like Ginger well enough, but I really feel like she showed us everything she has to show already, and I'm fine with her leaving. And Roxxy (or however many x's she uses) can follow her out the door, because she isn't showing me anything so special, either. Then you can boot Phi Phi's shady ass, and we'll have an amazing top 4. Confession...I have never been a fan of Alyssa Edwards, but I'll be damned if she isn't really growing on me. And not just because she saved Katya, either. -
S02.E02: All Stars Snatch Game
CraftyHazel replied to Tara Ariano's topic in RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars
First off, I still love you, Adore!! I am of two minds about her leaving though. I honestly think the whole "But I'm so punk, I don't give a fuck" attitude is a defense mechanism because she really is quite young and pretty interested in having people like her. Yeah, she has fans by the legion, but she also really does seem to want the other queens and the judges to like her and respect what she does...and some of the queens and Michelle, at least, really don't. I am plenty old enough to be Adore's mother and I just outgrew those feelings a few years ago, so I know what it's like to try and please someone, all the whIle knowing you never really will. It's frustrating and it hurts your heart, but you keep trying anyway. So in that respect, I think she was quite right to leave and save herself from those feelings. BUT... She's in show business, so she really needs to get a thicker skin. And she just went through all this a couple of years before, so she had to know what to expect. Besides which, she's been on tour with Michelle, and knows that Michelle really does not care for her aesthetic, even if she loves Adore personally. And honestly, I think she could have put in some serious effort to promote that 90's grunge girl look as a valid choice to the judges, instead of appearing the word she so hates...lazy...by throwing on a sparkly sack dress for the talent show. She said "I can't wear a corset while crowd surfing", but she wasn't crowd surfing, so throw on a corset and some Avril Lavigne-"Girlfriend" style drag and go out there and represent your style as a valid, deliberate choice, not a lazy, "You're not gonna like it anyway, so who cares?" decision. I don't know whether she really IS kind of lazy, or if she doesn't know how to put together a good, riot girl look. I honestly suspect that she has so many ass-kissing young fans (and older ones, too...I follow her on social media, and she really does cross age barriers) that think everything she does is so amazing, that she's begun to believe she can't go wrong. Then she hits the main stage on All Stars and finds out that, um...yeah, she can go wrong. Very wrong. (Speaking of so wrong, I think she looks like shit in her new video, ICU.) I think she is undeniably talented, and very sweet to her fans, and I think she's just gorgeous in and out of drag. But if she isn't interested in growing and improving, I don't know if she'll have the longevity she really deserves. Katya, good Lord, was she gorgeous on the runway!! And I have to agree that Alaska has an odd vibe about her...or maybe it's just her lips that are putting me off. -

S02.E01: All Star Talent Show Extravaganza
CraftyHazel replied to Tara Ariano's topic in RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars
I think Adore looks amazing as a woman, but boy Adore/Danny doesn't really cut it for me. There is weight gain, yes, but I do think he may have plumped his lips some or something. I know he had a lot of dental work done after his season aired, so maybe the mouth looks different because of that, but whatever it is doesn't look good on his boy face. But I love Adore...always have, always will. Messy, adorable, and very talented, and I just wanted to hug her when Michelle was knocking her look. There are reasons Adore is as popular and beloved as she is, and maybe Michelle should wrap her head around that. Katya still turns me on both in and out of drag. I think it's that damned megawatt smile!! Gorgeous! And I will never not love Alaska or Detox. -
Where was Ali? Can she please just have been working with Noel Khan this whole time, and be the psychotic bitch we knew and loved (to hate) when she was presumed dead? Please? And Aria is an epic idiot. Jason is 10x hotter than Liam, who is at least 6x hotter than Ezra. And she chooses Ezra?! Idiot.

See, I loved it! It was very soapy, but it was fun. I liked Darius's choice, and I loved the ending. The only thing I hate is that this is a summer-only show and it's going to be a long time before we get to see what happens now that Jeremy and Chet are back in the big picture.
