  1. I know Tregaye is going to win this thing, and Bobby and Giada seem so enamored with her "popping on fleek boo" personality that they're probably going to try and keep it for her show. Note to Food Network...no one I know will EVER watch that!! it's exhausting watching and listening to her for her portion of this show, but a full weekly episode of all that nonsense is going to wear thin quickly. I just can't stand the thought of her being part of the "Food Network Family" for years to come. But I don't guess I care too much. I haven't liked the majority of the winners of this show anyway!
  2. I never realized there was a previous season of this! I'll have to loo, for it...I have a strange fascination with Geoffrey Zakarian.
  3. I'm a horrible person, because when the judges critiqued Erin's dry-looking dessert and she got all snippy and defensive, I was delighted, knowing it would probably be the end of her. I still don't really like any of these people, but that was not a decadent dessert, nor a good attitude, so bye-bye Miss Perky! Even Ana deserved to stay over you.
  4. Ezria is just plain gross. Marlene pandering to shippers is every bit as gross. She doesn't mind writing repetitive drivel, storylines that make no sense, secret twins, transgender cousin/siblings, incest, sexual predator/English teacher/pseudo-A/crap authors, and so on, possibly pissing off 90% of the population at one time or another, but she won't break up the one couple above all that deserves to be broken up, because the shippers might cry. And this comes from a woman who admittedly has a Hanna/Caleb avi and fervently wishes they'd never broken up.
  5. I don't like anybody!! Usually there is someone to root for, if only as the lesser of evils, but this season they're all varying degrees of obnoxious or inept. I'm not one who dislikes Damiano overall, but the whining and complaining over every challenge is getting old. Jernard mentions his nine kids like they're proof of something great...what, that he can produce sperm? Not relevant to the competition. I loathe Ana, almost threw something at my TV when I learned that Erin would be a part of the cast (that perkiness wears thin for me real fast, and I hated when she won the Holiday Baking Championship), and Lil Miss "Popping on Fleek" Tregaye drives me mad!! There is not one of these people whose win would even be a "Well, at least it wasn't So-and-So" moment for me. At this point, I can only hope Yaku or Monterey or even Joy comes back and wins this thing.
  6. As much as I really liked the cast this season, and was mostly "meh" on last season's cast, there was no one in this year's cast that I loved like I did Katya. So for me, although the season as a whole was really good, it was never a "can't miss" event, and that makes me sad. Bob is hilarious, but I never think he looks good...sorry. KimChi was great for looks, but I didn't think the performance skills were there. Naomi was fine...just never thought she'd win. I still love Thorgy and I am absolutely mad about Acid Betty (my brother met her at DragCon and said she couldn't have been nicer), but neither will ever reach Katya levels of adoration. They're Detox/Alaska/DeLa level for me...not bad company, to be sure, but most years I have been mad for at least one or two queens, and this year I kind of wasn't.
  7. I don't like Sam, and I'm happy to see him gone, but where did Isaac's change of heart come from?? Last week, and every single week of this season for that matter, Isaac has thought Sam was sooooo fresh, so modern, so innovative, so exciting!! This week, he's soooo over the mesh, and he's just frustrated and bored with Sam in general. I just feel manipulated. It seems/feels as though the entire season was designed to push an agenda... "Let's make PR relevant again! We'll take a widely reviled, incredibly polarizing, marginally talented designer and push him through to the end! Isaac can fawn all over him, Georgina can gush about his talents...people will tune in just to see if this is finally the week we send him home! But we WON'T send him home, well, not until the finale! Everyone will watch, people will talk..." "Oh, my God, FABULOUS idea!! But who can we get to do it?" "How about that smug little prick Sam, from UTG?! They'll hate him! First, he's from Under the Gunn, which everyone hated, second, he has very little real talent but he thinks he does, so he'll buy it when the judges kiss his ass, and third, he's quite the little shit-stirrer." "Perfect!! Put it in motion!" Meh. Dom has talent, but I detested everything about her win tonight. The overall look was schlumpy and frowsy. The print was okay, but that's the only thing even remotely decent about tonight's winning look. Kini's was nice, but I agree that the pockets were too much and the lapels ought to have been matte. Ken's was pretty 80's and really drab. The "rework another designer's look" challenge was so ridiculous! That "jacket" Sam made wasn't exciting or fresh, it was stupid and ugly.
  8. Every. Word. Of. This!! Before watching this, I was sure Blake was guilty. I still think he is, but I'm far less positive than I was before. Bonnie was clearly involved with a lot of people who might have wanted her dead, and although I think it unlikely, it IS just possible that someone (besides Blake) chose that moment to do her in. I also found the daughter very, very odd. She seemed to idealize her mother! Right after discussing how Bonnie would call men and beg for money for vacations and things, and sell pornography, etc., she declares that her mother was "wonderful!", and "I love her!" My mother was (to all appearances) a good, Christian woman...a gifted cook and baker, clean, devoted to my father, thrifty, kept a neat home, lovely to look at, etc. She was also short-tempered and mean as a snake to her children. She cut me down on a regular basis, would lock us in our rooms until our father came home from work if we pissed her off (her excuse was that if she started beating us, she'd kill us, so we were better off waiting for dad), and so much more...but this is not therapy, it's a forum about a TV show. As bad as she was, the woman my dad married when she died made my mother look like Mother Theresa! Ask me my opinion on either of these women, and I'm not going to gush...no, not even for a national audience...that they were "wonderful!" I'll tell you that they were human, and flawed, and in the case of my mother at least, that I loved her dearly irregardless. That Bonnie's daughter places her lying, con artist mother on such a pedestal is disturbing.
  9. Falling in love with the model who doesn't win...Will, Mercedes, Nastasia, Aminat, Nik, Marjorie, Analeigh, Hannah, exotic dancer Lisa, Katarzyna, Corey... "Ty-overs", always my favorite episodes. I will miss when it was good enough for Cover Girl photo shoots and commercials, Mr. Jay, Nigel Barker, Janice, Twiggy, and Paulina...not Bryan Boy, social media voting, and Eric Asla! Not going to miss Tyra's made-up words, blatantly choosing poor photos to send someone home, Miss Jay's nonsense (let the man coach runway, but other than that don't let him speak!), or the ever lowering prize level.
  10. Sorry...I do NOT like Jordan. I don't like his voice, and I don't like his faux-humble smugness. He pisses me off, to put it bluntly. And no one outside of Freddie Mercury and George Michael have ever begun to do that song justice, so I wish everyone else would just step off. That said, of course he'll be in the finals...popular song, full choir, fireworks, pimp spot...check, check, check, and check. Ugh.
  11. As much as I am genuinely loving this version of "PR", I loathe Tim Gunn with a passion these days and really think he needs to be muzzled. Fresh off the reunion show for Season 14, where he tells the designers he loves them and they are very talented, he gives an interview grousing about the poor work ethic of not just Swapnil now, but many of the designers and talks about how much he hated the season, and then goes on to out one of this show's contestants as "a mean girl"! Whichever girl he is talking about...and I don't really care who she is...she's a minor, a child, there to learn and compete, not to have her character assassinated in print by Mr. Gunn. He's an ass, plain and simple...judgmental, cocky, and fake as hell. The Juniors version of "Project Runway" is delightful! No product placement, no "thoughtful" accessory wall, no catty judges. I adore Christian Siriano, and he is as snarky and catty as can be at times, but he has it toned down here and is being very helpful in his critiques. Tim Gunn is fine mentoring these kids, but he needs to watch his mouth in interviews...I liked him better when he had his kindly persona and protected it zealously. Now he seems proud to let his inner bitch flag fly, and I don't care for the change. It seems two-faced.
  12. Thank you! Crap...I was wishing, hoping, and praying for a farewell to Mikey. He is just so...gross.
  13. Someone spill it for me, please! I'm stuck with no TV til tomorrow!
  14. Swapnil isn't the type to get the Tim Gunn Save. Tim saves that for the "poor underdog", and the only two people left who fit that description in any way are Kelly and Ashley. I loved Justin but didn't necessarily agree with his save...but I did think his final runway was pretty spectacular, so I was glad he was still there. Charkita was ridiculously overrated by Tim and was saved not on the basis of talent, but emotion. Her making the finale was a joke. Whoever Tim saves will almost certainly have an express ticket to the finale, and I'm betting on Ashley at this point.
  15. This somehow doesn't surprise me in the least. I used to adore Tim Gunn, but after watching "Under The Gunn" I lost all respect for him. I think he's actually a nasty, gossipy man at heart, who puts on a sweet, fatherly facade when it suits him. I also think he's gotten too big for his britches and shouldn't be present at judging, nor running to spill backstage drama to the judges. He's not acting as a mentor these days, he's more judge, jury, and (gleeful) executioner. I've actually taken such a dislike to him that it taints my enjoyment of the show. I do think that Swapnil is going to impress everyone this week. I can't imagine that Zac's happy, "Finally!" could be for anyone else. Every single other contestant has won at least one challenge.
  16. I watched twice and never did hear how Lacey did on go-sees. I know her challenge score was an 8, but the only comment I can recall about her go-sees was the one designer saying she wouldn't book Lacey because she was having trouble with the dress. I wonder if they inflated her score after the fact, in order to keep her at the top? She has had such a positive edit that I think we'd have heard all about it if she had done well. Ava knew she wasn't coming back. She looked defeated from the minute they arrived at panel.
  17. I'm super frustrated with Swapnil, much as I still love the guy. Tim told him it was a look that was already out there, and he basically said "So what?" The shrug thing was hideous and didn't go with the dress. I'm not as sick of him as Zac appears to be, but I do want to shake him out of his complacency. I'm also tired of Ashley's...well, pretty much I'm just sick of her. I hate the little crop top and circle skirt (Ohhhh, but look! Pockets! Big deal.), her "Gee whiz"/Sally Field Oscar acceptance attitude (You like me! You really like me!), and the tongue bathing the judges give her every single week. Her jacket was cute, but I hate her fabric choices overall and I'm just over her. Merline can go next, please. She missed the mark sooooo utterly and completely that I almost...almost...hoped Laurie would somehow be saved. Except that I think Laurie was in was over her head here, especially considering her performances in the past few weeks. Kelly, I love you personality-wise. Never change, because Kelly from the deli seems like a totally cool, funny woman, and someone I would want to know. But ugh, her look this week was pretty awful. Candace was right, she tried to set a few too many trends with her look, and Zac was right about the ruffle on the skirt being placed in an odd way. It wasn't perfect, but I liked it better than most. Go, Edmond...I guess. I know if I had a model's figure I'd want that dress. And he's a very refreshing personality on this show...he just does what he does and you never see him complaining or whining, rather he seems thrilled with the entire experience. Was the dress especially fresh or innovative? Nope. But it'll sell.
  18. What does Swapnil have to do to get a win?! I could feel his frustration this week, and I don't blame him one bit. Laurie should have gone home for that raggedy, obscene, hot mess. Lindsey has bee circling the drain just a bit too long, I guess. I never thought I'd say this, but I'll miss her. She and Kelly are kind of adorable together.
  19. I agree with you. I'm old-fashioned in some ways, too (and old!), and I like Waffle Love! There is a lot to be said for polite, clean-cut, and genuine people. I'd give them my business at the car show/drive-in movie event, too...I like people who shake my hand and look me in the eye; it makes me feel as if I am being recognized as worthwhile. (My doctor does this, and I appreciate it, after years of doctors who basically run in and out the door.). All the other teams did is pitch their food, and if I feel like all you want is my $25 chip, you likely won't get it! Yes, I'm stubborn, too!
  20. A quick search shows that Swapnil's placement has been: Episode One: In. (He made a mini dress in blue and a black/blue print with a crisis-cross detail at the neckline.) Episode Two: High Episode Three: High Episode Four: High Episode Five: High Episode Six: High Episode Seven: Low So, although I didn't appreciate his "I just want to be safe" comments (and yuck to the smoking, Swapnil!) and I did think he kind of phoned it in this week for whatever reason, I absolutely think that Zac's comments about being tired of Swapnil's sloppiness and arrogance had to have come from being given footage of his conversation with Candice. Where else could it really have come from?! He has been consistently in the top and has had plenty of positive feedback, and very little criticism at all, and suddenly Zac Posen is fed up with him. I smell "UnREAL" levels of manipulation.
  21. I adore Swapnil beyond all reason, but I wanted to slap him up side the head this week!! "I'm not trying to win yet, I just want to be safe." (paraphrasing) And the many smoke and snack breaks, while everyone else works away. I truly can't abide that kind of lazy, lackadaisical attitude when there is so much at stake. I'm so happy for Kelly's win! Truly deserved. Why is Lindsey growing on me? I also didn't find anything amazing about Ashley's little dress. It looked stiff, tooooooo short, and not as imaginative as the judges thought. "Who knew Polaroids would do that?!" Um...I did! I learned that years ago in my scrapbooking days.
  22. I really don't know what the judges were seeing in Devin this week...he looked and acted like a buffoon! I wasn't the biggest Ashley fan, but she was better than Devin this week. I also bet she saw the writing on the wall, hence the crossed arms and looking up and away from Tyra during Tyra's "So who goes home?" speech. I don't blame her. I still love Lacey. She was my pre-season pick and she's still my favorite. I hope she and Nyle go far...in more ways than one!
  23. Some of Ashley's collection was cute and fun, and some of it was straight out of my nightmares...the ones where I, an undeniably overweight grandmother, am forced into the streets with nothing but the contents of my craft room and my underwear. Wrap around some tulle, some crazy loud fabrics, and throw a couple of bouquets on my head in the hopes of distracting anyone from looking below the neck! I loved the flowing fabrics in Swapnil's collection, and I love the hard & soft mix with chiffon a and leather jackets, but I think there is a bit of wickety wack in there for sure. Maybe a few too many ideas, and I think it may be a nod to his culture, but there seems to be a tendency to over accessorize. Still, I liked it. I could see Kelly all over her collection! I can't help liking her, but I don't like her style. Still glad she got to show, even if it winds up being a decoy collection. Merline's really is pretty basic with a bunch of hats.
  24. Don't rain on my glitter-tossing, sparkly pink princess parade, okay??? Blake is gone (pleasepleaseplease) and I am happy!! LOL
  25. LOL...mine, too! I couldn't have gotten away with that little coverage in the fifth grade!!
