  1. I'm not really a fan of either team (Yankee fan here) but after Chapman gave up the homerun I changed the channel. I cant imagine what the Cubs fans in particular are going through. As soon as Maddon took Hendricks out, I said if the Cubs win, it would be inspite of Maddon not because of him. Hendricks was cooking....why the hell would he take him out so soon. Basically compounding his mistake from last night in using Chapman with a 5 run lead. Seeing that there is a rain delay I think gives everyone a chance to breathe again. Yikes. Im not staying up for this. Ill catch the highlights when I wake up bc I cant handle watching this game in real time. Good luck.
  2. I think I heard on Mike&Mike this morning that Collins apparently said he wanted "Von Miller money". So that combined with whatever onfield antics got him shipped out. As much as i hate saying this, Belicheck has more than proven his acumen as a coach and de facto GM. Im not going to second guess this decision whatsoever.
  3. You know.... although I really had no dog in the fight (besides our friendly nfl pool), Im glad the Falcons won today. Aaron Rodgers really rubs me the wrong way. For one, that thing he does trying to get a "12 men on the field" penalty call is very Bill Belicheckian. Yes its completely legal (and if my QB was doing it with as much success, I probably wouldnt be saying boo about it) but its just kind of annoying and idk....unsportsmanlike I guess the word is. Oh and I noticed after Rodgers ran in for 2 point conversion he brought out the discount double check. Ugg...

Totally agree about Westbrook. I didnt understand the sports "experts" talking about OKC possibly being in the WCF. I'm like where? how? Russell is a fantastic player, but he can't carry a team thru the West. I'd be surprised if they finished better than 6th. Similarly, and this might just be my Knicks loving heart talking, but I see better than the 30 wins we're projected to win. Now all this is heavily dependent on us staying healthy, but i actually expect us to at least make the playoffs this year.

Yeah I read that. That was nice of him...for once. I saw Usher's ring (had forgotten he was part owner) and his doesn't look as blinged out as the players', so I'm sure the ones the ushers and other lower level employees got wasn't so flashy. But still what a cool thing to get. For anyone interested, the 76ers issued another statement regarding the national Anthem thing. I guess they received a lot of backlash. Basically they admitted they handled the situation wrong and reached out the Seyven Streeter and said she'd be welcome to sing the Anthem at any future game of her choosing.
  6. I liked the commentators discussing the name of the colors of the uniforms. The Titans are wearing Columbia blue (which I actually like... It has a nice pop to it). And Jax is wearing honey mustard yellow. Hmmm. all I can say is that the first thing I thought about was baby poop when I saw those unis. I meant to ask a while back whats the deal with the colorblind folks. I thought the complaint last year was that some of the games featured uniforms that couldn't be deciphered (which to me meant that one of the teams has to wear white as a contrast). But a couple of times so far both teams have worn colored unis. Can someone familiar with this issue explain this.

Just when Adam Silver thought he skated on this National Anthem protest stuff, the 76ers go and bar the artist they hired from singing the Anthem opening night because she was wearing a "We Matter" tshirt. I'm kind of sick of a certain segment of this country being very two-faced on this topic. It's like "yeah sure of course black lives matter, but only when you don't express that sentiment in public/national tv." (Because it makes the rich white people uncomfortable). Anyways, the season is off to a surprising start. Didnt expect the Warriors to get blown out like they did. Lebron was Lebron...messed around and got a triple double. Btw the Cavs championship rings are so ridiculously gaudy but hey they deserve it. Hoping Anthony Davis can get some help because dude is a beast. Russell Westbrook looked good. Though I don't think OKC will win enough games to warrant him getting the MVP like a lot of people are predicting.
  8. Yep! This is what it boils down to, to me. Amanda just oozes privilege it almost made the doc unwatchable because I couldn't watch objectively. It's probably the one thing I nodded in agreement with the prosecutor. He said something about her being entitled and wondered if that was a typical Seattle attitude....and given the conversation Amanda had with her friend 3 days after the murder I had to wonder myself. I mean...yes Amanda didn't know Meredith very long and I wouldn't expect her to be boo-hooing. But a girl was just brutally murdered in the house you shared with her. I dont think it's too much to ask to display some level of sorrow or even fear. Instead they're talking about Rafaelle and I think the girl actually said "ohh don't worry, you'll look back on this in a year and consider it the best time of your life". I was like what???? The door being left open would freak me out....but then also seeing blood in the bathroom? I'd be going nuts. How she ignored BOTH those things is baffling to me. I see some OJ references that I'd like to jump in on. OJ wouldn't have needed to attack Nicole and Ron at the same time. What likely happened is that OJ was just finishing up killing Nicole and Ron walked up on the whole thing (he was returning a pair of glasses) trying to stop OJ at which time OJ started his attack on Ron (while Nicole was mostly likely already dead).
  9. Sooo I didn't watch the game. But ive seen all the lowlights this am. That little gif of Pete Carroll is pretty funny. Michelle Tafoya's face in the background isn't too bad either. As far as the Seahawks go, nothing will ever top Richard Sherman's look of utter horror after that interception in the Superbowl.
  10. The NFL put new guidelines in place for this very situation. They're not always going to get a "smoking gun" (ie videotape) or as I'm sure the many people they've spoken to regarding DV have told them......cooperation from the victim. They already know this. If they're going to suspend Josh Brown at all (meaning the league believe he did *something*) why not follow your own guidelines that you set and give him the 6 games? Whether the 6 games gets reduced or not is irrelevant, because Goddell has no control (maybe?) over that. From a PR perspective Goddell could say he did what he could to punish Brown and the process took its course. And they wouldn't have to be scrambling righthe now to make it right. Josh Brown won't be traveling with the team to London. Thats a start. But they really need to get rid of him. I suppose Mcadoo wants to leave that mess alone until they get back.
  11. So what was Josh Brown's 1 game suspension about? This is what I dont understand. Goodell is making deals with the PA on THIS issue... for what? Goodell created a whole shit storm of bad press by giving Ray Rice 2 games, despite hearing from the guy's own mouth what he did to his fiance. And then the video came out and all hell broke loose. How can Goodell turn around and give Brown 1 game for what it seems is consistent prolonged abuse that he too admitted to! I guess I just don't understand this "boys club" favoritism shit because I'm like who the hell is Josh Brown for Goddell to risk looking like a softie on DV (AGAIN)? Goodell went after Tom Brady (the quintessential Golden Boy, and the Golden Boy owner Bob Kraft) for 2 freaking years!!! For some deflated footballs. Goodell couldn't have the same type of guts going after Josh Brown, video or no video?
  12. Humph....you would think? Given the outrage over Odell basically beating up on himself (with help from a kicking net), you'd think there'd be even more outrage for a jerk beating up on his wife. Not only for the primary reason of Josh Brown being an abuser but also with how it seems like that league learned nothing from the Ray Rice fiasco. With all the crap the league gave Tom Brady for deflategate (which for me, in a vacuum, was great to watch because I hate Brady and the Pats) by serving up a FOUR game suspension but they only give Josh Brown 1 game? I mean, if the league had enough evidence to suspend John Brown at all, why only give him 1 game? Weren't there guidelines put in place for this very situation? Now that details of his disgusting behavior are out, the league continues to look really stupid...oh and so do the Giants btw. I hope they get rid of him.
  13. Can't say I'd limit the word classless to just Bills fans. People all over the country have been losing their minds over Colin's quiet protests. I've read stories of store owners who had taped Colin's jersey to the floor near the entrance so patrons can wipe their feet on it. Then there were those who just outright burned his jersey. Today I saw on instagram some group selling t-shirts with Colin kneeling with cross hairs aimed at his head. It continues to amaze me how many people are so outraged by Colin kneeling when I'd bet half of them never paid attention during the anthem before. Too busy on their phones or scarfing down nachos or whatever. And yet don't even acknowledge that the content of his protest has validity.
  14. Yes. He was almost calling those bogus penalties with glee (taunting the crowd). The most egregious to me was the pass interference on DRC when he had leverage and could have easily came away with an interception. I just watched the end of the Falcons-Seahawks game and there was a no call on Sherman CLEARLY grabbing on to Julio Jones' arm to prevent him from getting the ball. These are critical plays and I guess I should be happy the bullshit call in the Giants game didn't cost us, but if I'm a Falcons fan I'm fuming right now. Soooo I'm starting to get that feeling about Dak that I had about RGIII during his rookie season. The NFC EAST looks to be his for the taking for the foreseeable future. Eli had better get it together at least this year and/or next, because it might be a wrap after that. Yikes. Oh....and Happy Trails ??Tony Romo. You're not getting your job back.
  15. I had no idea simply taking your helmet off in the endzone is unsportsmanlike conduct, or taunting or whatever the hell they called on him. I think that's so bogus but whatever apparently he knew it was a penalty so yeah at the end of the day he shouldn't have done it. But Imma definitely give him a pass after the afternoon he had. What a game!
  16. Lol....I hope Odell's performance tonight goes a long way to squashing all the extra chatter about him. He did his job. He made another incredible catch and he even made up with his arch nemesis...the kicking net. LMAO. That was a pretty funny moment. Yeah the Giants still lost, but I expected that. Like I said, Eli is the one who needs to get his shit together in order for us to win. Odell will be fine.
  17. But the only reason the players are twerking and gyrating is because they can't use any props and they can't do anything choreographed with teammates. If the league loosened up their ridiculous rules about celebrations I doubt that we'd be seeing that. But for my 2 cents I dont have a problem with the twerking, I thought it was funny. I just find it a little hypocritical of the league (surprise) to talk about how inappropriate it is for the players to twerk when they have dozens of scantily clad women on the sidelines pretty much doing to exact same thing. What also gets me is that the NFL never hesitates to use that infamous clip of T.O. and the popcorn when they're promoting the playoffs or whatever. Or Chad Johnson with his Hall Of Fame jacket. Those guys had some classic celebrations and its a shame the league decided to stiffle the players' creativity.
  18. Beckham didn't just make one great catch. He's made a bunch of them. IMO, he made a better one against the Dolphins where he caught the ball and simultaneously dove into the endzone. He set a bunch of records for a rookie receiver and had a really good pace going as far as TD receptions. If Odell had ONLY made that one catch against the Cowboys he wouldn't be a star right now. We see amazing catches from college and even high school players every week. What makes (made) Odell different was he was making those crazy catches with regularity (ie.consistency). And geez....we're really gonna rag on the guy for what he's doing in pre-game? We're talking about pre-game? (Allen Iverson voice). Those one handed grabs during pregame I would bet are more for the fans who get to the stadium early much like Steph Curry does his pregame warmup (which includes taking 5 shots from the tunnel when he's playing at home.) Unless you're trying to say that a couple of catches one handed is taking away from his normal pregame preparation...and I havent heard anything like that. I have never heard anything about Odell's practice habits dipping or changing. Yes, football is his job. It's not his life. We don't know what's going on in his personal life or what he's dealing with (if anything). I personally have my suspicions about what might be going on with him but I'd rather not say. Odell is a human being. He and all athletes are allowed not to like their job just like the rest of us, regardless of how much money they make. Now do I think he should actually voice his frustrations in the media? Nope. He's just adding fuel to the fire, but I'm not going to invalidate his feelings. How he feels is how he feels. This is what's really killing it for me. We are seeing these defensive players be extra with him. As well they should if Odell is going to allow them to get in his head. But the refs are supposed to nip it in the bud. And im glad the NFL came out and said the refs are to look out for the defensive player provoking Odell. In the Washington game, we saw Josh Norman literally pick Odell up and carry him 10 feet and drop him to the ground...right in front of the ref.....AFTER the play was dead, and no flag was thrown. I didnt watch all of the Vikings game so I can't speak to what he was doing or not doing, but I think this stuff is being blown out of proportion just a tad bit. Despite all the talk about Beckham and his antics.....I'm really and truly more pissed at Eli for throwing these God awful back-breaking interceptions. And Im sorry but Monday night Eli looked scared...though I cant say I blame him. That Vikings defense is no joke. But we've seen Eli lead the league in interceptions *3* times and hasn't had a winning record or record better than 9-7 in however long. None of that is Odell's fault so I'm confused by all the talk about how Odell is distracting Eli from doing his qb studying or whatever on the sidelines.
  19. I picked the Vikings to win in the pool.... but i had hoped the Giants would at least made the game competitive. Eli throws another pick. I mean, I guess I should be glad it's only 1...unlike that other qb playing in NY.

Because basketball has been his life. He's been doing this for decades. I dont see this as any different than any other player who pretty much has to be taken off the court/field kicking and screaming because they just don't know when it's time to hang 'em up. I just hope the other teams follow suit and don't even entertain signing him. He needs to be protected from himself obviously...but I dont find Bosh's attitude surprising at all.
  21. Meh....if the Louisville receiver had actually tried to get the 1st down inside of I dont know....not!...they would have been fine. They had plenty of time at the end to score a td. The announcers said maybe the kid didn't know where the 1st down marker was or whatever the case is, but damn it who cares. He should have been trying to get into the end zone regardless.
  22. I thought the Bengals were in orange for a hot second too. When I flipped over to the game I literally recoiled back and said "whoa". Those unis were BRIGHT! I think Miami should have had turquoise as their primary color. That color is more "Miami" and might have shown better on tv. I'm just glad the Bengals won. AJ Green was in beast mode.
  23. Lol...see thats the thing that threw me...Omari just looks small all around. Not just his height, but he doesn't look as muscular and broad in person either. Now maybe the baggy jumpsuit has something to do with it. But I just wasn't impressed at all. But yes, his wardrobe on the show is fire??. He can wear the hell out of a suit. Angela and Saxe are the only ones who look like what I expected in real life. My coworker said Charlie Murphy looks kinda sick....like he's really thin. I dont follow him like that so I just took her word for it. On the show Tommy seems to be around the same height as Ghost so yeah I'm sure Joseph is probably short too?. 50 cent would be a surprise because I always view him as this big gorilla (pun intended). Speaking of 50....was Power his idea or was it Courtney's and 50 just signed on early?
  24. Lol. No me and the coworker I went with (me and her talked about Power every Monday morning....she's my roadie) was shocked at how small Omari was. I assumed since he used to play football he would be a lot bigger. It's amazing the amount of size the camera adds, IMO. So much so we started thinking about the girl who played Precious (I think she's on Empire now)...like that chick might not be as big as it seems. Anyway. Dude is just small all around. A different coworker said she was kind of disappointed by that revelation. She had it in her head Omari was some 6'5 Adonis. I'm not naw girl he's more like 5'6.? But yeah, it was super cool seeing everybody. By the time we got there (around lunchtime) there were just barely a few stragglers. A crew guy said it was madness earlier that morning. So many people taking pics and video, etc.
  25. I guess this is the best place to put this information. Soooo....Power is filming as I type this literally up the street at a Bronx Courthouse (I work at a different courthouse). They're filming episode 1 for next season. Han from F&F was there. He's playing an attorney...can't tell which side for sure but if I had to guess I'd say he's a Fed. Charlie Murphy was also filming. He looks to be a Marshall or some kind of law enforcement person. I got a picture with Proctor. But I saw pretty much all the major players: Tasha and Ghost (in an orange jumpsuit), Mike, Angela, Saxe, and the judge. Everyone was kept in the hallway while they filmed in the actual courtroom so I couldn't hear any dialogue. But the crew was really cool with us taking pics (as long as we were discrete about it). One major thing about all these actors is that they are a lot shorter than I thought. Especially Omari.... and Naturi may as well be a little person. She is shhoorrttt.
