  1. I dont blame Dez or any player or person for not kneeling or maybe simply not wanting to get involved or create a less than warm working environment for themselves. I was just saying that Jerry Jones probably knows none of his key players are going to kneel (for whatever reason) and so he can say what he said and not really have back it up. Could the owner of the Ravens or Seahawks say the same thing and not be challenged? The NFL is certainly not the cause of our social issues. These issues predate the very existence of the NFL. What the NFL is providing (inadvertenty) is visibility. What other weekly event is watched by more people? None that I can think of. And what good is a protest if nobody sees it? I wouldnt hold my breath waiting for Roger Goddell to do anything substantive. He and the 32 owners want no parts of anything that can be labeled as helping to combat police brutality or racial injustice. And I'm not saying its because I think they are racist or even that they dont want to. I just think the rhetoric from the most vocal fans (the ones who've been writing nasty letters about boycotting etc) probably lead them to think their bottom line might be affected if they engage in anything related to social issues. And as Max said on First Take this morning, it is much easier for a business to alienate the minority (read: people of color/anyone who supports the protests) than it is to alienate the majority (read: white people/those who honestly think these protests are about the flag/racists).
  2. Do you realize that standing for the flag (at attention, hand on heart etc.etc.) IS a political statement? It is an affirmation of what this country stands for (so we've been told). The players arent the ones who decided to bring that into their game. The NFL did. Why? Because the military wanted to pay them millions of dollars a year to put on a show to increase visibility and perhaps recruitment. And as has been discussed on various shows the NFL disrespects the flag every single game day. They should keep all teams in the locker rooms (which I think was what they were doing prior to 2009) to avoid all this. The players absolutely have a right to protest or exercise their 1st Amendment rights anywhere they want. No legal employment contract can take away your freedoms as an American citizen. What an employer can do is impose sanctions/disciplinary efforts on an employee if they do or say something they dont like (see Colin Kaepernick and Jemele Hill). But it is up to that employee whether they want to take that risk. Jerry Jones just showed (not that I needed any proof) that his kneeling the other day was a complete farce. Faker than a $3 bill. It burns me that no key player on the Cowboys would challenge him. Dak, Zeke and Dez arent going to kneel so Jerry can look like the big bad tough owner by default.
  3. Can the Giants please just forfeit the rest of their games? I cant even count how many injuries we had today. Odell should be DONE for the season. Regardless of whether his lastest ankle injury calls for it or not. Just shut him down. Dont know about Marshall and Shepard...but this season is over. Point blank period. It was probably over 2 weeks ago. SMH. The Giants might very well go 0-16. Seriously. And after people were predicting they'd win the division its just crazy to think how wrong that was. Not even close. Damn. I cant believe this.
  4. Funny. I was going to say the same about the Chargers-Giants. What market are you in? CBS is airing the Giants game and FOX is airing the Jets...which I thought was interesting because when both teams are playing at the same time FOX will always air the Giants and CBS will always air the Jets. I wonder why the switch today.
  5. Lmaoo.Yes! I try to like Cam but he makes it sooo freaking hard! His temper tantrum (and subsequent double down when criticized) after the SB loss is what did it for me. This isnt some 60 year old "get off my lawn" old fart. This guy has probably always had women reporters around at the very least in his professional career. I dont know what he was thinking or why he thought it would be ok to actually say that crap out loud, infront of a microphone. Like really dude? He might be just a tad bit too comfortable up there or maybe he just thrives on negative attention and needed to drum some up after everyone was praising the team for beating the Pats. He might come out this week and throw for 350 and 4 TDs. I dont know if Cam knew about the reporter's racist tendencies?...but even if he did, there's a way he could have addressed her specifically without insulting all women reporters. Smh.
  6. I think they could make some noise in the playoffs should they get there. All they've been missing these last few years is a competent QB and it looks like they have that now. I'm hoping Im seeing shades of Russell Wilson or Dak vs. Robert Griffin though. All that running around would bother me if I were a Texans fan. Last night was a good game. I hope people can finally start putting some respect on Kirk Cousins' name. He made a lot of big plays throughout the game and delivered the game winning TD pass but the receiver dropped it. The NFC East is so crazy right now. I dont think anyone put the Eagles and Washington ahead of the Giants and Cowboys. But those 2 QBs are playing really well.
  7. What's especially funny (read: sad) to me regarding this idea that kneeling for the anthem is disrespectful is the fact that Kaep was told by a Navy Seal that kneeling would be more palatable than sitting (which is what Kaep was originally doing). Kaep was actually TRYING to be respectful of the military by kneeling at the suggestion by a member of the military and still he gets called every name in the book, mostly by people who never even served in military. Can we just stick a folk in this season already? I didnt even watch the game today...I already knew the outcome. This is the team's comeuppance for firing Coughlin the way they did. He was the least of what is wrong with this team.
  8. I was looking forward to the reboot...but thought the first episode fell a little flat. But I'll give them a pass because I'm sure they felt it necessary to bring everyone up to speed with where the characters are. Its so funny they brought up the finale because I honestly told someone the other day that I vaguely remember the finale having to do with Will and Grace taking their kids to college but I couldnt remember if one of the characters was dreaming or not. LMAO. I'll give the show another week or 2. But with the ABC lineup and football its got to get better for me to stick with it. As for the epi itself...I didnt mind the political jokes, I just wished it was more original. And I definitely thought they were trying too hard to fit in all of the political phrases they could. Like the "fake news" line was a little painful to hear.
  9. I'd love for Bennet and the other players who submitted the proposal for Unity Month or whatever it was called to call up Goddell and co (who no doubt probably tossed the paperwork in the trash immediately) to say... "So yeah about our proposal?" If there's one good thing about the Idiot In Chief's remarks is that it now forces owners and commissioners to speak up when they'd most assuredly keep quiet. I can not wait to see whats going to happen tmrw. I want every last one of the players to kneel.

Melo has always played better at the 4 position with his range and skill on the blocks. They have a month or so to get things right and really the first half of the season. If they all stay healthy they should be top 4 seed. As a Knicks fan I have mixed emotions. On the one hand i'm glad the Melo era is finally over. As someone who likens himself as an elite player in the league...he woefully underachieved. I think maybe 2 or 3 playoff appearances....and never made it out of the 2nd round. And this is in the East. On the other hand unless KP has improved there's no reason to watch the Knicks. I told someone with the Giants, Jets, Knicks and Nets, this is going to be one sad winter for NY sports. Steph has been critical of Trump for months. I loved him when put the CEO of UnderArmour on notice when the guy said some positive things about Trump. Im loving Steph, and Lebron and all athletes using their voices to critize the Idiot in chief.
  11. So....Brandon showed last night why I wasnt high on him coming here. He drops wayyy too many balls to be considered a top level WR. Shoot even just to be a decent WR. And does anyone else think Eli intentionally got that delay of game penalty on the 4th down to save his coach from making a bad decision by going for it rather than kick the field goal? Am I giving Eli too much credit here? Because the alternative is nauseating to thinking about. A 2-time SB winning QB, in his what? 13th or 14th year can't keep track of the play clock in a critical moment (frankly any moment) of the game? I can't. This season is already a bust. We finally have a good defense and the offense is shit. That guy Flowers is terrible. They replayed one play in particular where the Detroit player simply slapped his hands down and ran right past him....I believe the play resulted in a sack.

The only theory that makes sense to me is that Kyrie wants to avoid the embarrassment of being exposed. Kyrie has enjoyed the fruits of Lebron's labor and over the last 3 years has vaulted to 10-15 best players in the league. But what's going to happen when Lebron leaves in a year and Kyrie becomes THEE guy in Cleveland? Can he do what Westbrook did and still carry his team to the playoffs? I doubt it....and the Cavs are in the EAST! If you're THAT dude....you should be able to make the playoffs at least. Kyrie can't say he wants to win and then put the Knicks on the list of teams he wants to be traded to. He can't say he wants to be the man...when he WILL be the man in a year when Lebron leaves and the other teams he's mentioned Spurs (Kawhi), Twolves (Jimmy Butler) already have their main guys.

Lol....thats not even the most hypocritical thing Draymond has said this week. I had to laugh at him criticising the Cavs competition in the East....when the Warriors have also been making quick work of their opponents. Have they WON a game by less than 15 yet?
  14. I dont know how I never watched this show. I vaguely remember hearing about it but recently somebody recommended it and I've been binge watching ever since. Im almost done with season 4. Of the Gallager clan, Lip is easily my favorite. I hated his reluctance to go to college and better himself and its confusing why he would have such an aversion to higher learning yet apparently spent a lot of time reading outside of his typicaly schoolwork stuff. Thank goodness for the people who saw his potential (the guidance councilor, the guy at the University who almost correctly predicted that Lip would get his skanky girlfriend pregnant and he'd probably end up working at Blockuster, and especially Mandy who bless her heart plagerized his admission essays). Anyway sometimes he was too raw but I really liked his honesty. I definitely root for Lip I try to like Fiona...but I just cant. It was fitting to me that after she went on her bender she told Lip she's lost since she hasnt been the one who takes care of everyone. That was really the only part about her I liked. Mike's sister was right. Fiona thinks she's a good person but she's not. I dont hate Fiona with a passion as I did someone like Karen or Steve/Jimmy (please let him be dead) so Im hoping after her 90 day stint in the slammer she'll get her shit together. I havent seen someone be so self-destructive in such a short span a time. I get she didnt like Mike as much because he's a nice guy. Mike actually reminded me of the cop from season 1 and 2 who liked Fiona....but she ended up with Steve/Jimmy. But how did you have such low impulse control that you fuck your boyfriend's/boss's brother? SMH! With all that said, I think the actress is fantastic. Her crying scenes throughout these 1st couple seasons are really good. I especially like how she'll cry for a few seconds and then just get right back to taking care of the house. I noticed Lip did something similar when he was working in the school cafeteria and I think his boss wouldnt give him time off to go study for a test so he went out back to pound on the dumpster. Afterward he collected himself and went right back to work. Debbie. Im so fearful for her. She's seen and experienced so much....some of it sexual in nature. The guy who exposed himself/jacked off on the bus infront of her really stuck with me. Her almost obsession with losing her virginity at 13 is so bothersome. The show has already established that thats the typical age (if not younger) where kids start having sex but Debbie always seemed like the one to stray from the norm. With Lip and Fiona not having any kids (yet) I have a feeling Debbie is gonna be the one with a kid. Mikey seems to be a popular character here but at this moment I only slightly like him now that he told his father to fuck off and finally told everyone he's gay. Frankly I think the makeup people just did too good a job making Mikey look like trash. He always looked so dirty and smelly (and pale!) I just couldnt see past that. I think it was Lip who said at least anybody else Ian finds would be an upgrade or something to that effect. Love Kev and Veronica. I look forward to seeing them as parents. Frank is such a shit person. I was hoping he died. When Sammi and Shelia found out Frank's kidney had been stolen instead of him getting a new liver I was kind of happy. He's done so much shit including pretty much killing that woman with the heart condition he deserved to die IMO. Im not looking forward to seeing more of him if he's going to have the same attitude and heaven forbid continue to drink. I dont need him to be father of the year. Its probably too late for that (except for maybe Carl and Liam) but just be a decent human being.

No. I have never heard him called that. His nickname that I know is "Brodie".

A few surprises in the first games. Didnt think the Bucks were going to win...and if I remember correctly the score wasnt even close. Great game by the Jazz and Joe Johnson. Would not be surprised if the Jazz won that series even without Gobbert. I dont like the Clippers and if they get bounced out of the 1st or even 2nd round it would be time to blow it up. The early game today ended as expected but kudos to Dame and CJ for at least making it competitive for 3 and 1/2 quarters. I really hope one day they can get a 3rd bonafide star to help them. They deserve some success. Im looking forward to when they get over the Warrior hump. Not that i hate the Warriors or anything but it would just be a typical transition of powers...like Detroit to Bulls during the Jordan years. I guess the biggest problem is the Warriors for the most part are just as young as those guys in Portland....and if the Warriors can figure out upcoming contracts then the core of that team might be in tact for a good while. I feel so awful for Isaiah Thomas. Its crazy how life is sometimes. He's established himself as a star while guiding his team to a #1 seed...and then his baby sister dies in a car crash the day before his playoffs start. I mean sheesh. I dont know how he's going to pull it together. They kept the game close but I didnt really see much intensity from anybody on the Celtics. Hopefully they can rebound in game 2.

The season is almost over and I dont think I've watched more than a half of any game this whole season. I just havent been interested. I just turned on tonight's game to hear Jeff and co. complain about the Cavs players sitting out this game. Usually Im not one to get on players about rest and all that....but this is ridiculous. This is 2 Saturday night games in a row where marquee players have sat out. This is going to force Silver and the league to do something. Either issue refunds to fans or something. You cant advertise a product to fans and charge hundreds of dollars for seats and then intentionally (these players arent injured after all) give them a sunstandard product. Jeff even mentioned that some teams make fans buy tickets to non marquee matchup games in order to buy the marquee game. Like what!?? Are you kidding me? What bothers me most is that this rest crap has been going on for years....but they never did it during a prime time game. Players wanted that spotlight so it seems they dont even care about the competitive aspect either....especially with games like tonight's where its cross conference teams playing and they only see each other twice a year.
  18. Yes. I came here specifically to mention Mimi's new gf. For one Im surprised Mimi is still dabbling on our side of town. I thought after whats her face touch me not she woulda went back to men. This new seems cool and looks to have some personality to her. I was rolling when she and Messy Karli were telling Mimi about the Kirk drama. And speaking of....I dont know if this shit is real or not but I definitely perked up when that girl said she was pregnant by Kirk......I did the whole Kirk who thing too. Like damn Rasheeda. Oh back to Mimi.....this bitch has THEE worst taste in men. She's talking about this Rodney guy (he fucked up her credit, got her sent to jail)...she goes from that to Stevie and then that other guy with the big teeth....cant remember his name. Like damn Mimi. You definitely have a type: Trifling.

The Knicks are an absolute mess. But we've been that for like 15 years....The only difference now is that its gotten so much national attention. I've kind of resigned myself to the fact that we will never win a chip....shoot I'd go so far as to say we'll never be competitive enough to compete for 'chip if Dolan remains owner. I might literally go my whole life without seeing this team win it all. Talk about dysfunction at all levels. The owner is an ass (we knew that already) who is now banning former Knick greats from the Garden and then using others to prop himself up. (I'm very disappointed in you Sprewell...I still have your jersey from my youth packed up somewhere). Are things so bad you're willing to be used like this? Ugg. Hope you at least get a job out of this. Anyway, Dolan has proven his incompetence in so many ways...like our current president I wonder where Dolan would be if he wasnt born with a silver spoon in his mouth. But then we have Phil Jackson...speaking of our current president Phil looks to be trying to outdo him for best twitter fingers of the year. I mean sheesh. Wtf are you doing? What free agent worth anything would want to come here? I honestly dont know why Melo wants to stay either. I guess his wife would prefer to stay and what not....but id be thinking about winning a chip and at the very least having some peace. Its been like nonstop drama alllll season with this team. Im fed up.
  20. I almost hit the back of my head on the wall from being so disgusted with Peter. Now all of a sudden he wanna be with Tara??!!!! GMAFB. The fact that Tara would even stand there and listen to Peter's crap is upsetting. I dont know how she stands to be in the same room with him. And Kimbella is getting on my fucking nerves. Either she gonna trust Juelz or not. And if not then she need to leave so she can have some peace of mind. I mean damnn. The dude is in the basement and you still tripping? How the hell is he supposed to make music (and provide for you and the family) if you nagging all the time about his "work hours". And I was 100% on Yandy's side regarding not disclosing Juelz's business dealings or whatever. And shame on Kimbella for trying to force Yandy to do so. I dont blame her asking....but once Yandy said no she wants to protect her professional relationship' Kimbella should have left it alone.
  21. As you should. ? Yes. The team that totally embarrased Aaron Rodgers and the Pack (today wasnt a total waste thankfully) needs to show up in two weeks. If for nothing else than to have a competitive game...and of course to hopefully beat the D-bags.
  22. I cant believe the douche bag Pats are going to another Superbowl. Hope the douchebag Pats fan who pulled the fire alarm in the Steelers hotel last night spends the next two weeks and a day in jail. And yes i hate the douchebag Patriots especially their douchebag quarterback and their douchebag coach and some of their douchebag fans. Looks like I'll have to go shopping for some red and black pom poms. Hopefully Quinn will have his team better prepared because I dont know what the Steelers are doing.

A flop is when someone exaggerates any kind of contact (or what can look like contact). The contact doesnt even have to be foul worthy. I liked what someone on Mike and Mike said this morning...Lebron acted like he had been hit by a truck, which is funny because it would pretty much take a truck to knock him down like that. Lebron absolutely flopped and he is a known flopper. Someone of his stature should really give it a rest. I get why people like Vlade Divac or Anderson Varajao would feel the need to do this...but come on Lebron.
  24. There was no "accident" the way Stephen A. always says there is this time. The Cowboys didnt beat themselves in this case. Aaron Rodgers (and those WRs who were getting killed in the media earlier this season for never being open....funny how all of a sudden they are getting open) just made a few more plays. The Cowboys have nothing to hang their heads about....and I hope Stephen A can at least acknowledge that much...in the midst of all the gloating he's gonna do. I'm actually more interested in hearing what Skip Bayless is gonna say. I like his and Shannon's show on FS1. Shannon is funny as hell and is very insightful. They make a good pair....a better pair than Stephen A. and Max IMO (though I do like and watch them too).
  25. What the hell is Kelce doing? And the refs are really being tight with the play clock. Ive seen games where the qb has called for the ball seemingly a full second AFTER the clock hits zero and they not call delay of game. I think they've already called 2 or 3 delay of games on Smith.
