I read a free sample of Steve Maxwell's book today. In it he talks about how his son dreamed of becoming an EMT but El Steve-O put the kibbosh on it because a) he might have to work odd shifts and b) he might be paired up with a female partner and be tempted to stray. After "praying together" the son pursued a different career. Because nothing makes for a happy family like a resentful husband stuck in an unfulfilling job! Also, who knew female EMT's are such temptresses! I guess when you're trying to plug the artery of a gunshot victim it really sets the mood! Seriously, where do these whackjobs get their logic?

I think both finals will be interesting. I'm tired of the announcers having orgasms over Bouchard so the cynical, black-hearted part of me wants Kvitova to win. Djokovic irks me because he seems like such a needy, co-dependent narcissist. Can he play two consecutive points without having to look to his box for encouragement? I don't love or hate Roger one way or the other, so I guess for me he's the lesser of two evils.

Turquoise, my mom grew up in a big Irish Catholic family as well and none of her siblings had more than three kids. I can see Derick and Jill having four or five kids, but not double digit numbers. If Derick's mother is terminal (and I pray she isn't) it would explain her eagerness to get pregnant right away.

I think Bouchard could use media training as well. I find her personality off-putting and she's come off rather bitchy in her press conferences. Maybe it's a generational thing to be completely over confident when you haven't really accomplished anything. Her and Kyrgios are the same age, correct? I'm rooting for Kvitova on Saturday.

Holy shit, the announcers inferred Serena was on drugs?! How did I miss that? What did they say? I've never been a Serena fan, but I agree that's completely uncalled for. There could have been a million different reasons for her behavior, to chalk it up to illicit substances is salacious and unfair.

Kourtney has two nannies who are off camera. Kim's "I've got to feed my daughter" excuse was a little thin. This is the same woman who ditched a three month old infant to go to Paris for a week- while she was allegedly breastfeeding.

Jill's voice makes me want to puncture my eardrums. I could barely get through the episode. This is horrible but I was hoping one of the other contestants won so I wouldn't have to suffer through her Vocal Fry for another episode. I agree "The Godfather" was another gimme.

I hate to admit it, but I was with Kim on the spoon thing. I like Kourtney, but her kids are like feral children at times. As for Kim being some pseudo champion of civil rights; rather ironic considering she has a black daughter whom she ignores at every given opportunity. A woman who was on the same flight commented on Perez Hilton that the incident never happened. She also said Norphan didn't fuss too badly and that the nanny took care of her the entire flight. Whether her post is legit or not, who knows...

I've always thought that Will and Zoe don't interact because they've been pushed into very gender specific activities. Cars and trains for Will, dolls and frilly things for Zoe. I'm hoping they become closer as they get older, it's just weird to see two kids living under the same roof who barely give each other a second glance.

Jill looks really happy. I'm sure there were some awkward moments the first couple nights, but I don't get the vibe that Jill is shell-shocked or traumatized from losing her virginity. On another note, I saw the selfie that Jessa took of the girls getting ready for the wedding, and Joy Anna is stunning. She looks like Jessa's twin when she's all dolled up.

The one episode where I thought the kids showed true emotion was the dinner theatre. When the older kids were in the kitchen laughing over Jessa's awful barbecue skills, they seemed so happy and relaxed. When Boob and Michelle aren't around and the J'Slaves aren't saddled with the annoying little ones they're actually semi-normal.

Ivy26, regarding the courtship timing, I swear I saw Jill wearing that heart-shaped necklace in the first or second episode of the season. I remember noticing it because I didn't like it, I thought the pendant was too big. It could just be wonky editing where footage from later in the season was used as filler for earlier episodes, but I'm totally confused by the timeline as well.

Yeah, if Bin is going to U of A, he'll definitely fall into temptation. Any big D-1 school that revolves around football is always a huge party school. Jessa is pretty, but so are a million other girls who don't have sticks up their asses. Maybe Jessa is hoping Bin screws up so she has an excuse to get rid of him.

OMG, I saw the Jeffs movie followed by the documentary as well and I was freaked out by the parallels between FLDS and ATI/IBLP. When that one girl told of how all the women were expected to "keep sweet, block out emotions and plaster a smile on your face at all times," I was like wow, sound familiar? Between that, women being required to keep their hair long, pictures of girls posing with violins and women being encouraged to birth as many babies as possible it was like another version of Gothard. Not surprising that both leaders are sexual perverts who took advantage of young girls.

Has Jill been on a mission trip for an extended length of time? It's one thing to visit a third world craphole for a couple of weeks to ooh and ahh over the poverty, but to live there for one or two years? Jill has a good heart but I'm not sure she could hack it.

I don't know what happened to Serena today. Early in the second set she looked like she was about to burst into tears. I couldn't understand why, because at that point it was still a close match. Maybe she's just burnt out. I agree the Middle Sunday tradition needs to go by the wayside. The game is too physical and the rallies on grass are longer now that no one serves and volleys anymore. To have a match drag out over three days when that could be avoided is ridiculous.

Wow, now that you mention it the shoes did have a dusty, well-worn look to them. Hannie's looked like they were a size too big. It wouldn't surprise me if they fished them out of a Goodwill bin. Keepin it klassy ya'll!

They wear their uniforms on the Price Is Right as well. I wonder if the producers are behind this practice as it's good PR for the show. Sunil was definitely easy on the eyes and seemed really sweet, he was my No. 2 pic to win:)

I don't think Bin will ever finish college. He's too enamored with the fame already. My prediction is he'll marry Jessa and angle for some cushy FRC job like Smuggar did. He's pimping the anti-abortion message pretty hard these days.

McKay, thanks for the clarification, my history was hazy. So Jessa learned how to be a bitch early on and Jana learned how to be the meek whipping boy, not surprising.

Considering that one Gosselin twin is a snotty, miserable brat, I don't think many guys will be beating down Kate's door to date her daughters. Hopefully Jill doesn't read the posts because literally every Duggar forum and gossip site has been discussing her sex life. Our snark is G-rated compared to some of the comments I've read elsewhere!

FJ this week has been hit or miss for me. I got Saudi Arabia immediately, but was clueless on Nobel and Agatha Christie. Go figure. George S. did a great job as celebrity clue-reader. I was initially wary after Sandra Day O'Connor's painfully slow reading made me want to scratch my eyes out, but he was a real pro. Tigershark, great run, you should be so proud!

I think Jana's doula training will go by the wayside now that Jill's married. Honestly I think Jana was only doing it to chaperone Jill and get the internet critics off Boob's back.

I've always thought Jana was the prettiest of the girls and people on the "other" forum who saw her in person said the same thing. RedheadZombie, do you recall the story of when, as a child, Jessa stole Jana's jewelry box? Instead of punishing Jessa, Michelle told Jana she was being selfish and made her give the box to her sister. Great parenting there, Michelle.

Wow, what an amazing match between Venus and Petra. I was bummed that Venus didn't win, but she fought as hard as she could, she has everything to be proud of. For me it was the best match of the tournament so far.
