S05.E09: Hilton Head-Ache 2018.05.31
seasquared replied to PrincessPurrsALot's topic in Southern Charm
Yes, Yes, YES!!!!! I subscribe to your theory because that's what I thought myself when watching this season. He has constantly insisted on how much he detest being part of this show and yet he came back this season. Why? In order to use this season to capture Kathryn losing it on camera to better his position in the courts. And even if not on camera, to try and trigger Kathryn out of her sobriety any way he can. He actually thought all of his nauseating PDA moments with Ashley would set Kathryn off but she just keeps staying cool, which I love! He uses Ashely any way can to try and provoke a reaction from Kathryn. When Ashley wasn't able to do it passively aggressively at that lunch, she flipped the switch and is now trying the all out "bunny boiling psychotic" approach. On a different note, how many people think "painting toe nails" is actually Trashley's code word for doing line of coke. Re-watch the scene with that word replacement made and it sheds a whole new light on both of their behaviors on the trip. -
Oh Craig, bless your pretty little head. He's so unfamiliar with the bar that hey misunderstood the pass/fail rate to be his ranking. Sigh. Most likely what he is referring to as his "ranking" is the statistic that 93% of the people who take the bar in that particular state pass. There is no ranking of bar exams and at least in Massachusetts, you do not know even what your score is unless you fail.

I feel ya Lovecat, it's gonna be so tough for all of us Pats fans because there is NO WAY our local affiliates aren't going to break in to scheduled programming to broadcast the GOAT getting his 6th ring! ; )

Bichonblitz, totally agree. I think Stephen has had a crush on Karl for a long time and maybe acted on it and got rejected? That could explain why Stephen got so upset watching Karl flirting so much at the Pride parade. Already spotting really bad conversation editing in just the first episode. The conversation between Lauren and Danielle was so stilted, it was obvious that they edited what each of them said to give the appearance of static between them when there obviously isn't. Also, same thing happened with the room assignment conversation. Lauren's dialogue was clearly edited to make it look like she gave really bad reasons for her taking the Master. Not that I don't think her reasoning was completely whack, but I don't think it was as bad as: I had the Master last summer,.....(awkward edit) so I should have the Master this summer too.

With regards to the comment about whether there had been a previous episode that was revisited this season dealing with sexual harassment (as discussed on the podcast) there was. Don't know what season it was but there was an episode where Jack & Karen have to film a sexual harassment instructional video.

You had me at Santino. This song is EPIC!!

Is it possible that these actors seriously thought their performances were Emmy nomination worthy? Between Ian's sob fest, Priestley's German doppelganger and Tori's comedic "stuff" and over acting in every other scene, it seems like these dolts REALLY thought they should be serious contenders. They must have been taking too many hits from the pot pipe. PLUS, we all know that the ONLY thing worthy of any type of Academy recognition in this series was Val's boobs.

Before the show airs, there are Project Runway compilations of previous challenges best and worst. Like previous unconventional material challenges or design your own textile challenge. Did anyone happen to notice if the footage they show is limited to only the PR's that aired on Lifetime? I was just curious if they aren't able to show footage from winners on shows that were originally broadcast on Bravo. Because it seems like their best and worsts always leave out competitors from the early years, when the designers were really designers and not cast offs from Real Housewives episodes.

Ladies, this is just a hunch but by any chance did you re-cap this episode on Thursday night after watching Project Runway? Your analysis was peppered with many of the Twins' "indeed".
-
If you go to the twin's website for their fashion line, you will see that basically every look they have sent down the runway so far is just an identical copy of something already in their existing line. In other words, they have no ingenuity when it comes to designing. They are only able to produce the same sweatshirt sportswear that they live and die by. Even when they had to produce a red carpet look, they morphed it into a red carpet for a music event - so that it would fit their cookie cutter design. I wish they would have a challenge that was for design an outfit for an opening night at the opera. I guarantee the two of them would take their sweatshirt designs, use leather instead of cotton and add a bunch of zippers and call it"classy and polished"...yeah, like a Harley Davidson.

S16 Unspoiled Speculation and Discussion (including Previews)
seasquared replied to FormerMod-a1's topic in Project Runway
Did anyone else watching last night get almost a whole extra half hour preview of next week's episode? I'm assuming that qualifies as an extended preview and makes my comment fair game: The best part of the preview being when both the twins get picked last and third from last. Then Claire consults with her model about what the mode's fashion sense is she is trying so hard to steer her towards the one look she knows how to sew - the jogger. Yawn. I would've loved it if the model fired back with "Ahhhh no, I hate joggers and I need you to design me anything BUT that tired look." -
My biggest issue with the "anonymous judging" is that clearly it's not if the contestants are sitting directly across from the judges when their looks go down the runway and they are cheering for themselves. Glad I wasn't the only one who thought Margarita's look was called back because she was on the bottom. Shawn has no designing ability whatsoever. She sent a sweatsuit down the runway!!! And no, calling them joggers doesn't change the fact that they are just sweatpants. When I recognized that the judge Maddie, was THAT Maddie from Dance Mom's. I stopped listening to anything she had to say about anything.

Thomas Ravenel & Kathryn Dennis: Will He Put A Ring On It?
seasquared replied to cooksdelight's topic in Southern Charm
On a podcast interview Katherine just posted on her Instagram she admitted to sleeping with Thomas AGAIN after this year's reunion. Gross. -
As I watched Landon's scene with her father I could almost see the though bubble over her head going "Oh boy, look at me turning down my dad's cushy offer. This is SOOOOO gonna cast me as the "independent fierce woman doing it on her own" when this airs on TV." Riiiiiiiiiight. Bwahahahaha.

Thomas Ravenel & Kathryn Dennis: Will He Put A Ring On It?
seasquared replied to cooksdelight's topic in Southern Charm
Just checked out the law firm that is representing Kathryn in the filed motions (John Hillard) The website for the lawyer looks like that of a typical ambulance chaser. And a further search of the lawyer himself revealed that he's slimy and has been bilking his clients and hanging them out to dry. It sounds like Kathryn had to scrape the bottom of the barrel in order to find SOMEONE who would take her case and file all those nonsense claims. I'm guessing he also did not do much research into finding out how much of what he told her is truth and how much is fiction. -
Speaking of dressed...didn't Whitney's date get the memo that it was Indian night? What was up with the black Opera gloves? I just realized that she ALWAYS has on opera gloves. Is it possible that she's really a he and she wears the gloves to mask her "man hands?"
-
I'm only half way through all the comments, so I apologize if someone already brought this up, but can we just discuss the awesomeness that was Saul's commercial??? The line about "better get ready to have the paparazzi take your picture!" while he's snapping a photo with a ....wait for it.....POLAROID Camera!!!!! Pure gold.

S13.E10: Family Trippin' (Part 2)
seasquared replied to OnceSane's topic in Keeping Up With The Kardashians
One of the most beautiful things about Costa Rica is its beaches. They never even made it to the beach and spent all their time in their resorts. For what they experienced in CR, they could have been in Disneyworld without even knowing the difference. CR has almost a zero carbon foot print, so the # of SUV's they required to just rolled up to their resorts was obscene. Then they took helicopters every where else so they wouldn't have to be bothered with the unpaved roads that require slow driving. By flying every where they missed out on all the beauty that is CR flora and fauna AND wildlife...but hey, at least they weren't inconvenienced by any long car rides. -
S13.E10: Family Trippin' (Part 2)
seasquared replied to OnceSane's topic in Keeping Up With The Kardashians
Crystal Gayle wig. Bahahahahaha! Allison Lowe Huff that was my everything!!! When the paparazzi boat was spotted in the boat Kris wonders aloud: "I wonder if they will follow us to the beach" and then under her breath "....because that's what I TOLD them to do when I drew out the map and handed the schedule of exactly where and when we'd be there" And then of course Kim complaining that its just SUCH an invasion of privacy for OTHER people to take pictures of their family on vacation and post them on the internet. (Because, that's what HER job is. ) My brother in law knows the owner of the hotel they stayed in. If you wanted to be a guest in the hotel at the same time they were there, you had to sign a non-disclosure agreement AND agree not to take any cell phone pictures. If you refused to abide by those rules, you couldn't stay in the hotel. Isn't that SO nice of the family to be so thoughtful and considerate of other people's vacations???? -
Born and raised Bostonian here - the word "park" is taboo for us. Tired of always having people ask us to say it so they can make fun of our accent. Plus the time Joey said it last night, I believe they coasted right up to the curb so I'm still betting he's being coaxed to play up the accent as much as possible. (and being a cop from Revere, he's probably missing his Dunk's pretty hard right about now, so I'm thinkin' the donuts would be GREAT incentive!! ; ) )
-
I am glad to see Mike & Liz gone, but I did notice that Liz was the only one who told the Bride she looked beautiful (at least the way it was edited.) I have a feeling someone in production keeps egging Joey to play up his Boston accent. Or maybe he is rewarded with secret donuts for every time he says the word "Park." (Pronounced "Pahhhk" in Joey speak). I went to Greece for my honeymoon and it and the people are truly beautiful. Also, I'm guessing they timed the hike up the Acropolis near days end because it's a major tourist attraction and it would have been difficult navigating a camera crew around all of the people. But they are lucky they didn't have to try to climb the stones during the day. The sun heats them up to a point where they become slippery as ice.
-
Um, Administrator...could you create a separate topic called "Legally Speaking" so that Tikichick and RealReality can go and hold a moot court on legal definitions???? On a different note, Chuck asked Jimmy if he should have the dinner with Rebecca with the wedding ring on or off. Jimmy says "off." I've only watched once, but am I correct in stating that Chuck ended up wearing the ring? Further illustrating Chuck's need to be superior over Jimmy and knowing what's best.

Bwahahaha. "Below Deck Mid-Atlantic" This made my day!

My favorite #SouthernCharm tweet that I saw on Twitter last night: "Craig says he's dating a teenage girl. But it's really Naomi who's dating the teenage girl."
-
I have the same sewing machine Craig has. It's not even a stencil. It's a stitch that you select on the console panel. Granted the machine does permit free hand embroidery, but I doubt Craig would ever try that. It's easier to take credit for a pre-programmed stitch that he had the machine make.
