Was there ever an official press release from production about this? I don't remember one. I know prestigious entertainment news outlets such as Entertainment Tonight and The Insider have speculated that this might be Whoopi's last year, and that Whoopi herself probably leaked that story to bolster her contract negotiations. Until I hear from production I'm assuming Whoopi's coming back for another year of big bucks for virtually no work at all.

I'm not familiar with these claims, there is a recent episode of Thomas packing up the kids to see Kathryn, so there was some kind of visitation.

No. Thomas has said he has sent the kids off to be with their mother. This is the first time Daddy, Mommy and the two kids have been together in a long time. It's also the first time Kathryn and Thomas have seen each other in a long time.

I had to laugh as well, I love it when new parents tell boring, mundane stories about their kids, and then expect everyone to laugh hysterically. I expect it from the new parent in the next cubicle, not on a chat show. I noticed Salma and David were giving him the 'oh look, he thinks this is original!' side eye.
