Ha! The cut flower arrangements always kill me.

Not sure why this is the thing that bothered me, but nobody sleeps for 3 days without being drugged or in a coma, and Julie would have been freaking if she hadn't heard from Billy in 3 hours, much less days. This is definitely not a binge show for me since a little neuroses goes a long way. There's a scene at about minute 34 that shows Morse getting a letter from the bank, then cuts to him entering the bank and speaking to the manager. It seems to have been edited out of the U.S. edition: Bank Manager: An unauthorized overdraft is a serious matter, Mr. Morse, as I'm sure you understand. Morse: Yes Bank: Last month you wrote a check payable to a Mrs. G Morse for 25 pounds while you had insufficient funds in your account against which to draw the sum. We've also had 15 pounds to a Mr. Robey, turf accountant, of Lincoln. And the same to Mr. Robey the month before that and the month before that. Really, Mr. Morse, the Wessex is not here to underwrite a life of vice. Morse: No. Of course. Bank: Look, I was a young man myself once, you know. I know what it's like. A fella must have the latest this or that to impress the ladies. But such profligacy will, I'm afraid incur a financial penalty. Morse: [sigh] Then comes the scene in the bank with Morse saying Hello to Joan and telling her he saw her at bingo and warns her against Marlock.

It was believable to me that Joan would be craving some independence and excitement in her life, but not that she snuck out without discussing it with her parents. They may have tried to talk her out of it, but in the end they're understanding and supportive, like they were with Sam. Did Endeavour think Nina was an angel, or was he just quoting Felix? I thought the latter. Did we know before that he's a gambler and in debt?

Antihistamines are the bomb! I kind of love them, along with corticosteroids.

Have you tried The Librarians on TNT? It's family friends and features a team of people with special skills working together to solve problems (although maybe not really "grand" plans.) A little further afield, but The Last Panthers, on Sundance is about tracking a team of jewel thieves.

I loved how intricately the escape plan came together with various characters acting both for and against our heroes, but did get a smirk out of the toilet paper riot. Let's all just start punching random people for no reason and tossing streamers from the balcony. Pretty shitty security for such a high tech prison of the future, what with letting visitors eyeball-transmit information to inmates, lack of audio monitoring in the cells and general population, and an entire VR world for more elaborate plotting. I also wonder how a facility was built on a planet with no atmosphere -- maybe robotics, or space suits for the construction workers? Do we know exactly why Mikkei/Truffault is willing to help the Raza crew? They were allies last season against Ferrous Corp but there seems to be something else at work. The Corporations are evil, the Galactic Authority is evil. The deck is pretty stacked in this universe.

I was rapt from start to finish. I shouldn't really be all "whee!" about multiple killings and a 16-year-old having no conscience, but there it is. Blueilocks and the Three Guns. Pretty convenient that the crew saw the news about One's death before they started trying to retrieve him, too. I will miss you, Moss, but there are plenty o' others now and Stasis Six seems to be slipping into the role of the group's soft-spoken goody two shoes, if I need that.

Did I like Pawter last season? I think so, but Sarah Power kept droning out her lines in a flat, rushed way that made me stop believing her. How do the residents of Old Town still have money to spend at The Royale and how is Pree getting supplies? The whole episode dragged for me, so maybe I just wasn't very engaged.

You made me look and I agree! He never rang any chimes for me when he was the generically cute guy on Wings, but his face has some character and sexiness to it now.

I found Jon to be kind of one-note and wasn't a regular viewer of TDS when he was driving the bus, but gave Trevor a try and had been enjoying his outsider perspective. Emphasis, sadly, on the past tense. I'm not sure exactly what clicked over for me but I've dejectedly deleted the last couple of episodes without watching. Nothing new, why bother.

Oh, Marie. She didn't make much of an impression one way or the other, which was her downfall in the end. Judges on competitive reality shows generally appreciate creativity even when it fails, but playing it safe is the kiss of death. Nice episode, even though I have a grudge against dry old biscotti. My Italian grandparents always kept some on hand, but even as a sweets-loving kid I didn't consider it to be worth the effort spent chewing it, so none of the versions we saw tonight were appealing to me. I guess I'm just not that fond of crisp cookies, although I'd make an exception for the arlettes if they taste anything like elephant ears/palmiers.

I wondered about that too, but decided I must have missed a scene where the other two were left behind when Camilla told James to take Terese. In fact, I still don't completely understand the purpose of that warehouse prison -- the cartel is also running prostitutes, I guess. And the "next level" up are the mules? Who have their own cell phones but are still being held prisoner?

Claire Huxtable vs Elaine Benes! Perfect counterpoints. Other female sitcom stars were allowed to react to the wacky personalities around them but still had to maintain their core of goodness and nurturing. Even Mary Tyler Moore, save for some comedic facial expressions, wasn't really allowed to be funny on her own show (although it could be argued that supporting characters Sue Ann and Phyllis were prototypical Elaines). I don't suppose one can cite JLD on herself, but her subsequent character on The New Adventures of Old Christine pretty much carried over Elaine's selfish traits. Which I also enjoyed.

I managed to get through the segment on Hillary but my stomach was clenching the whole time. She's waffled and deflected and manipulated her answers over the months, but to equate her with Trump in any capacity made me want to fly to NY and kick Trevor in the shins. What gripes me most about the email shitstorm is that numerous politicians and bureaucrats of both parties have done the exact same thing with regard to selectively releasing their correspondence, using private servers, and sending classified information through unsecured non-governmental accounts. But somehow when Hillary does it, it's cause for yet another fucking investigation. It reminds me quite vividly of the extreme and unfair scrutiny that was directed at the last female Democratic candidate on a presidential ticket, Geraldine Ferraro.

I don't care whose son he is, that stank attitude would never fly IRL. I have to assume a redemption arc is forthcoming, but right now his presence ruins every scene he's in.

I looked up 3D tattoos and apparently it just means shading the art to give it dimension. On another note, I tried the plastic straw trick on my nostrils today and it totally worked! Not a habit I'm willing to take up, though, so I'll stick to Breathe Right strips.

There are an awful lot of TV detectives who stumble on a breakthrough in their cases during their off time. They're flummoxed so far, then they see a knitting (or crochet!) needle, hear a car horn, eat pasta, almost trip over a toy left in the driveway and EUREKA!!! That's the solution! It's all terribly convenient.

I kinda fast-forward through the back stories so didn't realize the nose patient was transgender until I read it here. Anyway, it ticked me off that she had to undress and put on a paper hospital gown open in the front to have her nose examined. Does the show do that every time? I just now noticed it. Another very nice nose reconstruction, though. Not sure why that (very young) grandmother refused to talk to her daughters about their genetic risk of breast cancer. Maddening.

I'm really enjoying this, even though I could never get into similar shows like The Bridge or The Killing. I think Elise just draws me in. I snickered when she picked up the bartender: "You like men or women?" "Women, mostly. Good enough for Elise. The big question for me is whether Stephen (who owns the hostel and took Veronica and her son to the country) is a good guy or not. He may be the killer? Karl's snotty son is laying it on a bit thick. Kick him out of the damned house if he's so unhappy. I also didn't have any sympathy for the runaway teen girl who's pissed at her mum, although it looks like she's stepped into the fire now with weirdo guy who took her in. The kidnapped veteran probably isn't long for this world but I'm hoping the other runaway couple who found him can be saved.

Oh! I just now fully processed that there is zero prize money for this! Kind of shitty on one hand and kind of gentle and sweet on the other.
