  1. Presuming the Manny has enough episodes for syndication, usually around 100, the money is huge. The actors from Seinfeld cumulatively received around $3 billion from the syndication of the show. Forbes estimated that Jerry Seinfeld earns $65-80 million annually. If the Manny was as popular as the show seems to imply, Kevin should be set for life even if he never works again.
  2. Since Jilly considers herself to be a cosmetologist, she might well be willing to do them herself. A full set of long extensions to DIY cost around 200 bucks. Jilly probably buys the cheapest she can find, her hair doesn't look like she's got the good quality ones.
  3. They are the WRONG kind of Christians. They're eastern rite Catholic which makes them heretics who will burn in hell. It is up to the RIGHT kind of Christians to convert them to fundie Jesus who is not the guy they learned about at their Orthodox church. In the past couple decades, it has become increasing popular for evangelical fundamentalists to go to places that are heavily Catholic rather than non-Christian areas in order to preach about their personal saviour. Maybe it is because there are more white people in these locations or they're closer to the US or maybe they figure that people who are Catholic at least know something about Jesus so they can save some time. Over 70% of Ukrainians say they are Christians, but only 2% declare themselves to be Protestant while the rest are usually various versions of Orthodox Catholicism.
  4. Why would anyone pay that for an ugly pair of sneakers? Leave it to Jeremy to know the price of all the fancy Yeezys.
  5. Of course they didn't tell us where they were, they want us to think they're in Ukraine making themselves useful. By not saying anything, they keep people speculating and the donations rolling in. If they were actually IN Ukraine, we'd have been told and they probably would've filmed a road sign or something to prove it.
  6. If we're talking about the stuff on the table to Randall's left as he walks through the room; none of that looks like any award we'd seen before. It appears to be some sort of decor/knicknacks. There is stuff on the bookshelves in front of Randall as he walks, but I can't enlarge the picture enough to tell what it is and we only see it for a second.
  7. I did my residency way back before ER premiered in the mid 1980's. We had a situation where a prisoner (we provided care for them in our outpatient clinics), held a nurse, a resident and a prison guard hostage in an exam room for several hours. No one was hurt. He asked for drugs, they sent him an assortment including sleeping pills and he was arrested when he fell asleep. This happened in an outpatient clinic where the residents saw the patients. Everyone who worked that day, including those of us who were in other parts of the clinic and didn't know what was happening, were offered counselling. The resident and the nurse both got a week of PTO to process and get help as needed. This was well-engrained in the system way before Carter was stabbed. The hospital also informed the state prison that prisoners were no longer going to be seen in our outpatient clinics.
  8. The BeeGees were inducted into the Rock Hall in 1997. Donna Summer in 2013. If they can't be considered disco/disco-influenced pop, no one can. There are other examples.
  9. I'm a weirdo with you. I love Disney, but hate standing in line. I have a Kindle, however, and as recently as last month, I stood in line for more than an hour reading while waiting to ride Avatar Flight of Passage. However, I wouldn't be standing still in my back yard reading unless it was to quickly check on something in a gardening book or whatever. Surely there is a chair somewhere in their yard that Jinger can use while she is caring for the kids and sneaking a little reading in. Or, you know, her children's other parent could see her trying to find time to read and offer to care for his children for an hour or two while she curls up with her book.
  10. If nothing else, she was the public face of Theranos, a company founded by her long before Sunny started working there. I think she's the big fish in this and I would be surprised if she is even given the opportunity to turn against Sunny in court.
  11. According to posters on Reddit who claim to be from surrounding countries and have actually been to Ukraine's border; there is no way they are in Ukraine. The border crossings are choked with military convoys and any group claiming to want to enter to provide humanitarian aid is thoroughly vetted and needs government authorization. Currently. NOBODY gets into the country without a specific reason for being there. It makes sense from a security point of view, for sure. One poster who claimed to know someone working in Ukraine said that anyone running around snapping photos of damaged buildings or refugees or anything else pertaining to current events is likely to be shot on sight by Ukrainian troops who are once again concerned about spies and security. If they cannot take selfies, I think they'd stay in Poland and just pretend.
  12. I don't disagree that Abby's childhood was brutal, at least in part due to her mother's illness. However, she had a second parent who completely abandoned her and her brother despite being aware that Maggie couldn't handle her children for long stretches of time. Bipolar disorder is a disease, just like cancer or diabetes; but it is hard to treat because the disease itself makes the patient believe that they don't need treatment. That was not Maggie's fault, just the way it is. I can understand child and young adult Abby being angry and resentful over the burdens placed on her by her mother's diagnosis, but she seemingly held no grudge against her deadbeat father who should have taken responsibility and chose to disappear instead. Eventually, Abby became a nurse and then a physician and should have learned and grown and matured to the point where she no longer wanted to punish her mother for being sick. However, I saw much of Abby's treatment of her mother and her brother as punitive; her way of getting back at them for not being who she wanted them to be. She made their disease all about her and what she wanted; something she did with a lot of other people in her life. Abby was just a really mean-spirited and selfish person, IMO, and I don't think it was Maggie's fault that she was.
  13. Well, Theo sleeps with a nightlight on, has fun jungle themed bedsheets with coordinating mural on the wall and his mother still walks him to the bus stop to catch the bus to school; He might be wise beyond his years, but only if his 'years' are 6 or under. I am old now, but I still remember being 12 and I would not have been caught dead with kiddie themed sheets and decor in my bedroom, sleeping with a nightlight or needing my mother to take me to the bus at that age. Most 8 year olds would be embarrassed to admit any of that. In most cities, it is not legal to run a catering business out of a residence unless the area is zoned for commercial use and the appropriate public health guidelines and inspections are observed. Gina ran what was a successful restaurant before the pandemic; but now she has problems with preparing food properly? I get maybe needing help with the business end of the catering, but she should be able to handle the food prep.
  14. That is one thing on this show that was not like the real world: the complete lack of attention to the mental health of those who worked in the ER and had traumatic experiences there. In real life, every single person working in the ER the night of the stabbings would've been required to speak to a mental health professional before returning to work and every single one would be offered the opportunity for ongoing counseling and also given time off if needed or transferred to another department at least temporarily if they wanted that. There would also be mandatory seminars for every employee which would cover PTSD, how to deal with job stress, workplace violence, etc. People from the chaplain's office would've been crawling all over the place, too. Also, Carol wouldn't have had to worry about being shorthanded the next day, the ER would've been closed and patients directed elsewhere for at least 12 hours, probably 24 while the police investigated, a thorough cleaning was performed and everybody debriefed. Carter would've automatically had a psych consult while he was still in the hospital. Trauma patients who are seriously injured and hospitalized are routinely assessed for emotional issues by the nursing staff. Carter clearly was suffering both mentally and physically while in the hospital and it should have been addressed. He might've blown them off, but they would still come and tell him what they had to offer, educate him on PTSD and give him resources for ongoing care. Then again, who decided that Carter should return to work full time, in a busy ER no less, while he was still obviously in pain and having significant problems walking with crutches? In what world would Benton or Anspaugh sign a work release for someone in his situation? Abby's treatment of her mother was the last straw for me. I have a bipolar relative who has gotten into plenty of problems while off his meds and I would never presume to know what was best for him or refuse to even listen to what mental health professionals had to say, let alone mock them as Abby did. Considering how poorly Abby handled her mother and her brother when she was responsible for them; it was pretty shocking that she seemed to consider herself an expert. And, when you look at what she wanted for them; it was all for her, really. She selfishly wanted them locked up and fully medicated someplace where she wouldn't have to deal with them. She didn't want them treated to help them, it was all about her. Abby was all about herself, all the time.
  15. She does. The rest of the sentence is correct, though. Soon, she will be living her best life behind bars. But Elizabeth scammed a bunch of powerful, wealthy white guys. If they want her to serve time, and I think they do; she will not get any sympathy from the judge about leaving a child that was conceived after she was indicted. She'll go to prison, not for as long as others who are not in her privileged position, but she will be incarcerated unless her wealthy investors intercede with the judge. I don't think that will happen.
  16. I just got new siding last year and that house' siding looks worse than the 40 year old stuff I replaced. It is not installed properly, the boards should be flat and fit tightly against each other. That stuff is going to come flying off with the next tropical storm.
  17. I think as long as he pays for seats for them, which he did, he can take as many children as he likes, no matter what their ages by himself. I think the airlines are not inclined to get involved in the sticky wicket of deciding how many kids are too many or how many kids one person can handle. It's only when the passenger doesn't purchase tickets for the kids and plans to hold them the whole flight that the airline steps in. There needs to be an adult lap for every lap-child. You're right about the difficulty of an emergency arising and having to deal with evacuating two infants emergently, but it's probably even a bigger concern for a single adult traveling with young children who can walk and talk and would have trouble leaving the plane without assistance and the adult cannot carry both of them at once. For evacuating the plane with babies in carriers, I presume he'd be told to take them out of the carriers and perhaps another kind soul would carry one for him.
  18. Even if he wanted to prove to himself and everyone else that he was perfectly capable of handling the twins on his own, a cross country flight was not the best idea for a first step. No reason he couldn't have hired someone from a nanny agency to make the trip with him and the babies and then send them back to LA on the next flight. I know regular, middle class, flying coach people who have brought along an extra to help wrangle kids on long flights. Kevin's got the dough and it was really unfair to subject everyone else to the mayhem when they're all stuck in close proximity for hours and hours.
  19. My mom used to make us wear tights with smaller holes, at least at the end of winter, rather than buy new ones that we'd outgrow before the next winter. It's a very small hole, better than no tights at all, IMO. For all we know, the hole didn't appear until after they'd already left the house. I've got problems with a lot of what Jessa does with her kids, a small hole in a little girl's tights is NBD to me.
  20. I think it would help all of them. Henry does seem to need some structure, though. At the very least, regular mealtimes and he obviously needs a firm bedtime and probably a nap most days. Imagine how much less bored Spurgeon would be if he knew there was a set routine to his days. If he could count on even half an hour of one on one time with Jessa while the others are napping most days, he would be so much better off and probably learning so much more.
  21. I also appreciated Hoynes support of Leo as a fellow alcoholic and his quiet invitation to him to join the private AA meetings at the EOB rather than risk attending a public meeting. I thought that, over time, he was shown to be a stand-up guy who stuck to his principles and did what he thought was right.
  22. I believe she also told the Tennessee legislature that they were welcome to build a statue for her after she is gone, but not while she's alive and kickin'. I do think she is a naturally humble person who really doesn't want to be singled out, especially when she feels it is unwarranted or that others are more deserving. Which is kind of ironic when you consider her hair, her makeup and her clothing. If Dolly is not sincere, she has done an amazing job of putting up a front for the past 5or 6 decades of public life. I think she really is that person.
  23. No, clinical trials have shown that the 'sugar high' in kids is a myth. There is no evidence that eating a lot of carbs triggers hyperactivity. https://www.yalescientific.org/2010/09/mythbusters-does-sugar-really-make-children-hyper/ Rebecca looks like she stepped out of a Land's End catalog circa 1983. I had an 85 year old aunt who paid attention to clothing trends and adapted them to suit her style right up until the end. Young Rebecca seemed to favor a funky, boho vibe in clothing. There is a lot of stuff out there now that harks right back to that look and it would seem far more in character for her to be wearing that instead of the granny cardigans with turtlenecks she seems to favor. She still is getting her hair cut and colored in stylish fashion, her eyeglasses are not out of style, she wears makeup; she should be wearing more interesting stuff.
  24. Lauren and Josiah haven't even announced the pregnancy publicly, I doubt we're getting an antepartum gender reveal.
  25. Madison is Kate's closest friend in the present day on the show, she may be maid/matron of honor which is why she is helping the bride get ready.
