  1. South Africa to the Sunshine Coast, Australia. $900k budget, wife wanted 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, wanted to be close to town and beach. Husband wanted bush acreage. First house is in Noosa Heads, a popular tourist area near the coast, very modern, room enough for the three of them but not a lot of land. Second house is in the hinterlands, quite a distance inland. But the home is massive and modern and there are two acres of land. Third home is only two bedrooms and one bath, in need of renovation and more interior space but it comes with 10 acres. They choose #3 because the daughter goes on about acreage. It was $850k so cheapest but not really by that much. Husband was talking harvesting 20 or 40 kilos of some kind of peppers. Daughter is feeding ducks, as they show them enjoying all the land they have. He seems to be around 50 and he’s supposedly going to work, they’re not retired. Even 2 acres of land would be a lot to tend to along with full time job. The second property had a huge lawn so it would be a lot of work to keep it pretty. I’ve been planning a trip to Australia which includes Queensland and the Sunshine Coast. Will be staying in Noosa but I didn’t see much about the hinterlands and the bush that looked as beautiful as the coastal areas. Didn’t see mountains or interesting rock formations like you see in other parts of Australia. So I can’t understand them wanting bush acreage so much. Maybe that’s what they’re used to back in South Africa. But the bush is probably where the deadly snakes and spiders that Australia is famous for are, away from developed cities and towns along the coast.
  2. Natasha should have cut things off early. It may only have been a week or two between their arrival on this boat, when they decided to share the cabin, to when Dave had this meltdown. Dave says they had planned to come out as a couple before they arrived. But immediately Natasha told the other crew that they were just friends. Then Dave got more needy and Natasha just kept avoiding him, which is her right but she could have made things a lot simpler by saying that she didn't want to be a couple and asking to switch to another cabin -- or having him move out. That's not to blame her in any way for what Dave did but it's possible the situation could have been avoided if she was frank with him at the start. She was okay sharing the cabins with him, even hooked up a couple of times there, but when the other crew got Dave to admit he wanted to have a relationship, that's when she started pushing him away. Maybe if the previews are accurate, she will try to get her ex back and that could be one of the reasons why she didn't want to do more with Dave than occasionally hooking up.
  3. How about Harper coming on to Robert? So is this how the financial industry works, young traders party hard in their high-stress job, with all manner of bullying, in that frat house atmosphere? But they also have to cultivate big clients, any way they can. Yasmin was bullied in her first year and the guy who bullied her is trying to make amends. But she pays it forward to another first year female hire. Harper is learning, trying to line up the big whale who's staying at the hotel where she's living. Why is a billionaire settling for a 4-star hotel that someone like Harper, who's early in her career, lives at? Yasmin is doing coke with someone who she assumes is a sex worker but turns out to be her next potential boss. It turns out she's the heiress to a huge fortune but why is she working so hard?
  4. Would a real charter boat allow both of them to keep their jobs after a blowup like that? Well they both have key positions so it might be hard to bring in a replacement. But Bravo has to be thrilled with the drama. Natasha said she didn’t want to show Sandy the texts. So who showed it to Bravo so that they could display them on screen? Natasha will have to room with another man? Probably Kyle.
  5. Freddie is the main villain. She controls the killers. I guess the show runners are convinced that the actress is so good in the role. She's nice to look at but not sure smirking all the time makes her an interesting villain.
  6. Well the two leads looked like they were going nowhere at the end of last season. New season starts, surprise, DeCourcy is up for a bigger job and Jackie just got a cushy all-cash gig that he doesn't even have to declare! But turns out DeCourcy has to compete vs. a hotshot Latina prosecutor and Jackie is working for a rapist whose victim committed suicide. As for the Big Dig victim, I guess they had to give Siobhan something to do as well. Jenny threatened to get a job but goes volunteer instead, even though their money situation isn't secure. They're sending their daughter to NYU and Jenny complains about $20k tuition -- I forget this was taking place 20-30 years ago. Meanwhile a cop who testified against another cop for executing a black suspect gets shot in the head from behind by another cop. The dead cop has a pregnant wife. Wow, Boston seems like it was a shitty place.
  7. Yeah Chris Cuomo demanded like $60 million severance from CNN because Megyn Kelley got that. Mario would be turning over in his grave. Oh and McWhorter saying Herschel Walker is unsuited and the Republicans would only put up such an unsuited person for a Senate seat? He could go look up Tommy Tuberville of Alabama.
  8. I'm not sure what the rules are for posting before it airs on linear channels. It's been available for a few days on Showtime Anytime streaming. But Showtime generally makes shows which normally air on Sunday nights available on streaming at 12 AM EST, as soon as it's Sunday. Will wait for now.
  9. I can see where to give each apartment all that terrace space, making the terraces jut out like that probably maximizes terrace size without having as much volume as traditional boxy structures. Modern architecture like modern art is going to be polarizing to many people. But the locale it was in, too bad the view wasn't better. Imagine if it was near a body of water or in a mountain valley. You'd have more apartments with terraces with good views, not as many "partial ocean views."
  10. Maybe because Whitney hasn't been on the show much in recent seasons, people like him. Or maybe because most of the cast are so awful in comparison. But if we kept getting a lot of Renob and German beards, people would be fed up with him too.
  11. What a snooze fest. And now the guys are comparing each other's outfits for the clambake or whatever. They're like women. Kathryn said something about doing something nice feels so good? Without a hint of irony?
  12. I think the CSL one was an old one, maybe about year old?
  13. Once stayed a few weeks in Paris and learned when a nearby boulangerie put out fresh baguettes, once at opening early in the morning and almost around noon. Was warm if you bought it at those times. I heard actually that they've streamlined it so instead of baking from scratch, the dough is delivered to several bakeries. Obvious in the case of chains like Paul. Awhile back, the only kind of sandwiches common in Paris were just butter and ham in a baguette -- takeaway foods hadn't really taken off there yet. Didn't like that at all, wanted tomatoes and lettuce. So you had to seek out sandwiches with crudité. Now paninis are common and you have way more variety than there used to be. You often savor meals or foods you had when you were hangry. One of those occasions for me was looking for a quick bite while visiting castles in the Loire. Don't remember where but one place made the sandwich to order that time, had the smoothest mayo. Nowadays, bakeries will have a number of sandwiches and salads made the night before and they usually run out at lunch time.
  14. This article lists reasons why FF was canceled, including the fact that the exec who championed FF left in May, ratings decline, calling Ivanka Trump a "feckless cunt," the problems women's voices have had in late night. Read in TheWrap: https://apple.news/ATglEJQgQR6edSi7BqwuIWQ Maybe I haven't followed it as closely but it seems like FF put out clips of segments which went viral on Youtube and social media a few years ago. I used to watch them before I started regularly watching the show. But the ones which people really shared were the ones ripping Trump. So maybe there's some truth that the peak appeal of the show coincided with peak anti-Trump energy.
  15. They may have already broken up and they will show it this season, which was filmed months ago. The social media announcement may have been timed to coincide with the season being aired, to bring more attention to the show, draw in viewers. A lot of SC viewers probably may not remember who Taylor is, based on her appearance last season.
  16. Montpelier couple probably chose the best place given her parking needs, proximity to center, the price. If you do a Google image search, they have a lot of ornate buildings, big squares, etc. Maybe they couldn’t get a permit to film in those areas? Because they mostly showed modern buildings, didn’t see any of the historic center.
  17. Supposedly Zaslav is a Trumper as is his mentor, John Malone. Supposedly complained that CNN is too liberal and anti-Trump. So unlikely to be a fan of FF, regardless of ratings.
  18. The Daily Show in its heyday was able to do field pieces like every night right? Probably only Stewart was making money but it opened up opportunities for several TDS correspondents with Bee and Oliver landing their own shows
  19. His only chance was to get a lot of notoriety on the show maybe get a ton of social media followers and pimp the beer as much as he could. But he'd have to invest money for a large production and he can't do that without a lot of advanced orders. These bars and restaurants which serve micro brews probably have a selection of them and those are probably the result on long-standing relationships that these places have with distributors. Maybe some celebrity-branded beers have succeeded but he's not that big of a celebrity and SC isn't even that popular even on Bravo.
  20. Maybe they didn't have the budget to do more of the correspondent pieces. They'd need producers, camera crew, etc. in addition to the on camera correspondents. But they sent Sam to Paris earlier this year.
  21. There's a Bloomberg story that David Zaslav, the CEO of Warner Brothers Discovery, is under fire for only hiring white men. This is the guy who'd have had final say on canceling shows, including FF.
  22. I don’t remember the movie much at all. I think The father was more of an eccentric or crackpot who was going to live off the grid and forced his family to as well. Funny thing is River Phoenix plays the son in the movie and he also played the son in another movie about a family on the run called Running on Empty where the parents were radicals in the ‘60s who bombed some lab thinking there wasn’t anyone in there but turns out to kill people. So the parents debate whether to make the kids, particularly the River Phoenix character, continue to be on the run with them or let them have their own life, like going to college. On this show, I liked the first couple of episodes of them escaping but then realized the whole season was going to be about close escapes. When they introduced the Mexican cartel I rolled my eyes. What a cliche these days, any time Americans go to Mexico on shows, a drug cartel is involved. I guess they wanted to see if they could grab some of the adrenaline-fueled energy of BB or Ozark. There is no way they escape that compound but all of a sudden, Margot is street savvy about shooting out the tires as well as threatening Hugo’s life. Kind of incredible like Dina T-boning the police car perfectly without injuring anyone seriously or killing someone. Then again making it through the desert is also unlikely. Margot and then Dina being angry makes for dramatic scenes but a more likely reaction after all that they’ve been through is PTSD. But botH of them give up their objections becaUse the family keeps getting in crisis situations. Allie still bragging about giving them adventure is really offensive. Not only have they left bodies in their wake, they victimized bystanders, like breaking into that safe. Some other observations, no way a dozen or two dozen street kids find them in a city of over 9 million people. There was an overhead shot of the market where they were abducted by the orange caps. It pulls back and shows how vast the city is. Doubtful those kids can traverse the city on foot in one day let alone encounter them. I don’t think NSA agents are like FBI or CIA with weapons training, especially this middle aged odd couple. Yet two of them go to Mexico city to surveil the Internet cafe or expect Dina to call in?
  23. I didn't really feel the one missed answer and you're out setup for the trivia challenge. And the questions were Family Feud style questions where you list things. I don't think Alyssa and Kyland thought through all the possible teams they could throw in. So they only thought of maybe two teams? And these interviews are mainly for show but it seems like they were looking for approvals from other teams, which they were only too happy to do since they were not being thrown in. The elimination was just ok in design, smash through and retrieve puzzles. Certain arrogance in Xavier thing all those penalties because the girl can't keep up. But those 40 seconds they yielded to the other team was fatal. Probably still emotional after being picked so they didn't approach the elimination correctly.
  24. Billed as an imitation of White Lotus. Sam Esmail is one of the EPs but I think the creator is someone else, the guy who created Lodge 49, which I never saw.
  25. If this was all a scheme to implicate Jeff, the guy who knows his pre-Gene identity, why was he specific about what he stole? Jeff had to make 2 trips or more and it was on the last trip that he fell. He could have stolen enough on one trip to make him vulnerable to all those federal crimes that Gene recited to them. They're not going to fence the stolen goods either? Maybe Gene has some money hidden away so he doesn't have that motive. What are the odds some dingy mall in Omaha is going to have all those high fashion goods? Each of those Italian suits (Armani?) was almost $2k and the threshold for interstate federal crime was like $5,000 or $6,000? So why did Gene have Jeffy run around like that?
