Snark Should Be Multiplied, Not Divided: General Show Discussion
LilyD replied to sweet201's topic in Sister Wives
In terms of the Brown kids clinging on to TLC just like Maddie... I think it's only Mykelti and maybe Mariah who seem interested in being featured on a sort of regular basis? Aspyn actually surprised me by sort of retiring after her wedding (good for her!) But with the wedding and it's preparations so heavily featured, I was bracing for a lot more. Especially because I secretly still believe that Mitch is in the market for more wives. I doubt Gwen and Ysabel will stay on. I quite like Ysabel and hope she'll find her way outside the TLC fold. Gwen's annoying please go....Can't say anything about Truely and Savanah yet (too young) and Robyn's girls will probably stay with mum forever, ensconced in their big mansion. The boys: Logan is completely done as seems to be the case with Paedon and Hunter (no one in the military would want to be featured in such reality show after all). I don't think Garrisson and Gabe are overly worried with being seen every now and then, but that's it. Dayton may be able to live on his own despite his (minor?) disabilities and quirkiness but there's no way Robyn will let him. Sol is also going to stay at home, simply because no girl is ever going to be good enough for the king. So to conclude: Maddie is definitely the one to try and keep this going. Unfortunately she's the least interesting and one of the most annoying. But with Evi she has the guaranteed ticket to more air time (poor kid) -

Dayton was involved in an ATV accident a few years back and needed extensive surgery to his eye. Robyn wasn't able to pay the huge bill at the time and even had a lien put on her LV house. This wouldn't have happened if they'd had health insurance. So...no health insurance with Maddie, no insurance with Truley and no insurance with Dayton...How many times does it have to go wrong before they get it? What if one of them ends up on an ICU for a week or longer?? If you think an operation is expensive, wait until you get an ICU bill... -

wow... .."She was still paying on Truely's hospital bill.".... Didn't know that and what literally makes me sick to my stomach: Where's dad in all of this? Happy to father 15 kids as long as he doesn't have to pay for any of them. Kody really doesn't take any responsibility, does he? Unless it's for Day'un. It wouldn't surprise me if Kodouche paid for his surgery and the lawsuit that followed the accident he caused. -
Snark Should Be Multiplied, Not Divided: General Show Discussion

Which leaves the agonising question as to where they’re going. Could they possibly have lined something up? something we missed? If neither has purchased a house, nor found a rental, I do see them out on Coyote Pass in RVs this winter. It’s almost October after all and you generally do not buy and move into a new house overnight. And rentals don’t come easy in Flagstaff from what I heard out here. I just started thinking about the possibility of them moving into a house together? The more I think about it, the more I feel like “why not?” They are sister wives and have lived together before… -

I'd say this Meri isn't any different from the Meri we got to know on the show! 😜 -

When they still were in Vegas I actually wondered about that… imagine your utility bills with 6 kids, most in their teens, who usually take showers that last a minimum of 30 minutes every day, are glued to the electricity net, have their own cars and eat like a bunch of werewolves (Janelle’s 4 boys… It’s unbelievable how much boys in their teens can eat!) tThose grocery bills must have been horrendous at the time. -

Before that documentary came out, I highly doubted that any of the Browns could even be remotely succesful business-wise. But LulaRich clearly showed how that business operates. Meri has a pretty large network with people who would love any association with her, which is a huge advantage in this type of MLM. And her bossy character (and I’m guessing an ability to bully) will probably drive most people in a direction Meri wants. I reluctantly have to admit that she may be more successful than I previously thought possible. (Over other people’s backs, that is…) -
I actually meant it slightly sarcastic😂 Mariah seems to annoy the heck out of people, even from a distance when you don’t even know her, so how Audrey manages is literally beyond me… everybody has a soulmate I guess🤔
-
The posts about Mariah seeming to be tone-deaf made me chuckle… she’s probably gonna hate me for saying this, but she’s so her mother’s daughter! Particularly in the tone-deaf department. Is there any news on the weddingk? If they still haven’t tied the knot, I wonder if they ever will. Poor Audrey….

Quote from the article: Meri said she wanted to kiss Kody, but he made it clear he wasn't interested. “Romance and sex are saved in my world for people who are in love," he later said to the camera of the incident. Ouch…how much clearer does he have to be before she finally gets it??? It’s actually quite scary to have an ex-lover who so desperately clings on and doesn’t get a single hint, no matter how blunt and obvious…

Janelle Brown: Smarter Than Your Average Brown (Maybe)

There is a psychological condition called Mythomania; a condition in which a person is habitually or compulsively lying. It’s main purpose is to paint oneself as either a victim or hero. Now…does that sound strangely familiar when talking about the Browns?? -

Thanks for the numbers! This is exactly the point I was trying to make with my posts regarding their financial situation. I completely believe the 14k in mortgages and houses as most of that info is out in the open. Add to that the living expenses and extra costs and you’re somewhere between 20-25k per month for all 4 households…Even with the TLC money (alleged to be 180k) all 5 of them would need a pretty damn good fulltime job to make that work…definitely not selling a few tacky pendants or Lulatrash. oh wait… correction; all 5, no 4 adults would have to work. Robyn is not working of course…- 1.6k replies

I wish she did, but she probably won’t. Add to that kody’s seeming lack of interest for her grand daughter… has someone seen a picture of him with Avalon? Just hope that the rumor about Mykelti not wanting him there is true. -

It would be in line with their previous actions/situations with regard to buying and selling houses🤔. If there is any truth in MakingBacon’s suggestion of possibly no longer sharing an income, I can see a disaster waiting to happen, as in unaffordable house for a single mum with a dodgy parttime job…. As for what she’s (was) thinking: All the Browns are dreamers with little common sense. So yes, I am sure they had expected to be multi millionaires by now…That’s probably why the show is still a moderate success: A bunch of idiots chasing impossible dreams making stupid decisions…. -

Kitty seems tough with zero tolerance and intimidating, but I never quite got some of the harsher scenes. I don’t know, it just felt unreal, as if she was acting out a part that did not really suit her. A lot of the girls in the studio also looked really awkward, some as if they were stiffling a laugh even, I did not really detect a very shocked or hurt face, which I would have expected if it was real. I actually think Kelli’s “make-the-girls-cry record” is way more impressive than Kitty’s. I may be wrong but those Kitty scenes seemed more about drama than anything else. There’s also that rumor thar said she left MTT because she didn’t like how she was portrayed. -
Robyn Brown: She wanted the family, but got stuck with the man.
LilyD replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
Just finished a bunch of old episodes where they were trying to get the LV houses. If there’s anything that still baffles me, it’s how Robyn was able to get that huge mortgage as a (technically) single mum with no real job who also had a pretty disastrous financial past. (My friend, who is a single mum with a pretty good job struggled to get 290k financed…) At that time, Sister Wives was still a pretty big thing I think, but don’t forget that a fat TLC check needed to be divided amongst 5 adults…would that have been enough to secure the houses and get over that disastrous financial past? -
I’m one of those people who isn’t exactly a fan. The thing is, you have one chance to make a good impression which she completely blew in her rookie season. Even if you have clearly improved since, it ’ll go a long way before people get past an earlier formed opinion of somebody. It’s what she said and how she said things; over the top, being very present without giving much thought to what you are saying—> think before you speak, please. And I don’t like people who think they’re funny. Her dance wasn’t particularly impressive (her solo was a joke!) but she did have a presence and showmanship. So that’s how my opinion on her was formed. I can’t remember seeing much of her last season. If she was shown a lot, it clearly did not stand out to me and I haven’t seen anything from this season yet. You maybe right; she seems to have improved but I haven’t seen enough so far to actually want to change my views, so we’ll see…

Sometimes I believe the reason they Kelli overlooks it is if the girl is a strong dancer or they really like her and they hope she will improve --> There, fixed that for you😉 And there's also your inconsistency. Judy can say all she wants but if Kelli likes someone, Judy's stuck with her. But I agree with you: If someone is a great dancer but can't kick high or do the split, they shouldn't be there.Everybody should know the DCC requirements by now. It never seized to amaze me how girls showed up for audition (some nice dancers too) but could barely kick higher than their belly buttons and seriously believed they stood a chance....

Yes,you're correct. I just finished watching and one of their top designers actually said they were encouraged to find patterns on the internet and tweak them just enough to escape copyright. This allowed them to produce a lot more in a short period of time. It then turned out that that most designers didn't bother to tweak the pattern...

Why do I suddenly have all kinds of visions of Carol Burnett as Miss Hannigan from the musical Annie after reading the latest posts on Mariah?? Probably because both are annoying as hell, pretend that they care for other people and particularly the weaker people in society and do little apart from screaming at others on what to do, how to do it and when....
-
I fully agree with almost all you said apart from the bit where you called her a great representative of the brand. She was a great DCC with a lot of spunk. She was unique, which I liked about her.But a great representative? Just plain...No! A representative can represent a brand, which includes interacting, being a good leader and being able to speak. Maddie could look very awkward and uncomfortable when she was addressed or received praise. Where JennK and Kashare were natural speakers, Maddie always seemed at a loss for words, frightened even to speak up. I highly doubt she would have been able to speak on behalf of the entire team with guests or when out and about as a team like Kashara and Jenn could.Even as a group leader she seemed to fail when speaking to Kelli and Judy about her group. That scene where the four group leaders came in to talk about their rookies still makes me cringe when she couldn't put into words why Brennan should make the team. Kash stepped in and saved the day there, but it was Maddie's job to represent the girls in her group.

LilyD replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
As I said, you're spot on, and I would like to add one thing: IIRC, Robyn designed most of the items herself. She should have hired a good jewellery designer who would have been able to translate her ideas into viable and beautiful designs that appealed to a wider public. Heck, my 10-year-old could have made some of those designs! -
Spot on! I'm taking my reply to Robyn's thread (If I can figure out how to do so)
