Janelle Brown: Smarter Than Your Average Brown (Maybe)
LilyD replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
If they do, which I doubt, it will be just another rehashing of old stories: God didn’t grant Robyn her rennal, so she was forced to buy. And since she had kids who wanted to go to college, she needed at least 6 bedrooms as they stayed at home. (Never mind Janelle and Christine’s kids who went to colleges and had to share bedrooms in the past too) And Janelle has prided herself on being adventurous. She loves camping and even tried to live in a yurt a long time ago (but failed miserably). So this RV was an amazing opportunity. Kody will probably take pride in saying that he fulfilled all of his wives’ wishes…. Yeah right… -
Kody Brown: The Man Who Survived a KNIFE to the KIDNEYS!
LilyD replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
You have some interesting points there and for the most part I agree (definitely with the unthinking egomaniac!) Though not on him still 100% in love with her. To Kody, Plyg-Palace was real: Wife-hopping in one big mansion depending on mood, noise or demand. Having the best of all marriages, not taking any responsibilities, not getting bored and not getting fed up with one wife, being able to shut the door when things get rough and go to another wife. Seeing another wife every few days would have kept it fun (for him). But… it’s not happening. His dream of getting old in Plyg-Palace gone. He’s stuck with one wife in a trailer and one very demanding wife he sees 24/7 surrounded by needy and whiny young adults with little intention to spread their wings and two noisy and demanding youngsters. He’s gone from freedom and no responsibility to being a fulltime dad and husband to a seemingly very demanding wife. I really don’t think he likes his life as it is now. Being unhappy is a fatal blow to any relationship. Definitely when you are also getting older and want different things out of your life. (Yes he chose to have babies with Robyn, but he probably thought it would be for a few days a week only, boy did that backfire!) sorry for rambling on guys… when I got started, I couldn’t stop🤭 -
Kody Brown: The Man Who Survived a KNIFE to the KIDNEYS!
LilyD replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
This thread needs a new name... Full-time Asshat is fine with me, but it's the part-time dad that annoys me. He's no dad to: Ysabel: for not caring about her surgery whatsoever. Truely: for not giving a damn where she's going with her mom Mykelti: ignoring his grandchild (though Mykelti might be responsible to this) Savanah: for not being bothered about where she lives, how many times she needs to move or in what conditions. Gabe: for taking away everything he had, including any opportunity to achieve some amazing things in high school and sorting out a scholarship/grant. Not to mention what he did, or did not to the other kids. This guy is absolutely disgusting! Any suggestions for a new thread name? -

What on earth is she doing? Poor Savanah, being dragged around from house to trailer, to house with no place to properly settle and call your own! A child needs a solid base. If I pick this post apart: She said "we decided to find short-term housing" which means she never really thought things through. It sounded like a last minute decision as if she was seriously considering spending the winter there. Then there's her bit on hooking up on electricity etc. Meaning that if anything is happening on Coyote Pass in 2022 it will be sorting this out, if they can. Any building plans, if any, are definitely still years away. -
Robyn Brown: She wanted the family, but got stuck with the man.
LilyD replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
I'd recommend watching every episode twice ( if you can bear it!) The first time to watch what they say and the second time to watch what they actually mean. Don't forget to pay attention to the background: That's where you'll see kids rolling their eyes, a wife's annoyed or surprised face, etc. But I must say that this worked best when the older kids were still part of the show. -
Agreed, you have to build a strong case to prove an annulment is justified and the only option. Also; any children born from a marriage that is annulled afterwards will be considered illegitimate, because an annulled marriage is a marriage that never happened. And that means that the children are born out of wedlock. Of course this isn’t such a big deal anymore nowadays, but it is a very painful situation for any kids involved…
-
I doubt this decreased his options. The world is full of self-centred idiots looking for their 10 minutes of fame. Starring in an “established” reality show may just be the perfect opportunity. And they still have plenty of fans (who keep the LulaNo and Plexus ships afloat as well). Also, there are those looking to improve their life. They see women in big houses, not working (or only a little) and think “yep, I’d happily exchange my trailer for that.” —>Robyn cough cough…

. A lot of religions do not accept a legal divorce because marriage is for life. it’s my guess that their original religion/church still considers Kody and Meri and Kody and Christine married Is it important? Probably not as they are his third and forth wives, so no legal marriage to start with. It would only matter if they wished to rejoin the same church and marry someone else. Then they’d need an unsealment or whatever it’s called. Both are free to find new partners and contract a legal marriage, unsealed or not. The only issue may be their personal faith, but as a lot of people have noted; they are not that religious….if at all! So why bother?

Your entire post was brilliant but wanted to respond to this specifically: Yes, this is what they preach. In reality, both in the book and the first episodes, Christine mentioned several times that she was completely kept out of the loop regarding Robyn! It already was a done deal between Meri, Robyn and Kody. She was the last to meet Robyn and her objections to the marriage were completely ignored. Imagine having to go through that and being pregnant? As for Kody and Janelle: I agree with you as well. But there are a lot of practical considerations to that relationship too. They both wanted a buddy they could talk to on the same level and about shared interests. Plus they seem to have the same take on life. Add to that Janelle’s calm demeanor and dislike for drama. I’m quite sure Kody has used Janelle as a safe haven for years, simply to be away from all the drama, stress and demands of the other three.

Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore
LilyD replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
I’m still glad Christine left, but I suddenly remembered some passages from the book they wrote and did a quick scan tonight…. Their marriage was doomed from the start! Christine was desperate to have Kody and did everything she could to get him. Kody expressed his doubt and the speed with which they progressed from the moment they met. Unfortunately, he didn’t have the balls to step up and deal with it, so before either of them realised, they were married. The love sick devotion Christine had for Kody was what made her accept everything for 25 years (that’s what I think) and Kody’s attitude towards her probably stems from the start and the realisation that he should not have married her in the first place. -
I guess it’s one thing to say you want a sister wife but another to see the man you love hug, cuddle and kiss another woman. Not to mention seeing them disappear to their own bedroom together. I suspect many people underestimate this psychological aspect of the deal. And definitely an insecure, jealous and self-centred woman like Meri.

Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore

And what about the God-awful timing of that courtship with Christine heavily pregnant with Kody’s child. She deserved to be pampered and supported, but instead got an absent, not very caring husband who was madly in love with someone else. Oh and don’t forget Kody bombing that doctor with IVF questions for Meri when Christine was in labor? I’ll never forget that sad scene… I was like “you’re asking WHAT? NOW?” -
It's interesting that you say this. When Amy and Maddie shared point it was said that Maddie got the second bit as it required the power and pop Amy lacked. And if you look at the choreo, it's the second bit that has the faster and sharper moves, not the first bit. I have never been a Maddie fan but I never understood why in her second year as point Maddie was moved to first point and Rachel to second. Rachel has as much pop as Amy. Maddie outdanced them both in this specific aspect. Rachel photographs well but she's more graceful than powerful in her moves. Gina should have had that bit. She would have been amazing there.

I feel I should elaborate on my remark “the Browns are poor actors”: If there was anything that shocked me last season, it was beady-eyed Kody going beserk over his wives and unhappy marriages. That wasn’t acting, he was a loose cannon. Kody showed his true colours. Christine’s distress was at some points very real and it was amusing to see how people around them sometimes looked with a “what the heck??-face (as in, that wasn’t in the script!) We have seen the Browns acting on many occasions and it’s mediocre at best. Think about Kody and Meri’s ‘marriage’. We all knew it was over after Sam despite all their efforts. Think about Robyn with her sincere and loving intentions when joining the family. The strange, much discussed church service with cardboard boxes as an altar. The adoption scene. Prairie Dog plague Pass… well I am sure everyone is able to expand this list. The common denominator: nice try but we’re not buying this crap!! It’s so obvious when a scene is set up and they’re acting and when it’s spontaneous footage.

I’m quite sure Christine broke up with Kody months ago. The signs were there and picked up straight away by this forum. We all noted how Christine traveled all over the US without Kody, how Kody was removed from the deed, how her house was suddenly on sale and last but not least; both Christine and Kody’s odd (vicious) remarks during the shows that were definitely not acting! The Browns are very poor actors and Kody’s contempt, and in Christine’s case, distress were all too real. And with most broken relationships, it may take a while to sort things out emotionally, legally and financially. But I agree, the timing of the news is interesting….

I started writing but then figured the best answer to your question has already been given by Bellissima08: I would like to add “think before you speak” which is not a Kat quality either. Don’t get me wrong, I like Kat for her bubbly personality and showmanship. But she does get on my nerves occasionally with her communication ‘skills’. So great dancer, fun person but definitely not an ambassador/singled out representative…

Do you know what both Julius Caesar and Napoleon have said? Divide et Impera, meaning Divide and Conquer (or Divide and Rule) You can see this strategy in full operational mode in this stupid tv show, with Robyn and Kody fully utilizing this strategy to the max…

Janelle isn’t leaving. She seems content with having Kody around every now an then. It’s funny you call her reliant on Kody. In my mind she’s always been the most independent one. We’ll see what the future holds for the show, but it wouldn’t surprise me if this is it. Not much has happened over the past few years, nor is there any indication anything is going to happen. They’ve also completely moved away from the show’s original theme: living a polygamist life….

Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore
LilyD replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
What adjustment are you referring to? She already was as single as she could possibly be, with Kody never there, raising her kids alone and even having the sole mortgage to the house alone. Not much has changed. Also, as I said before: I highly doubt a spin off. She’s anything but unique with being a single ‘divorced’ mum. Maybe if she’d still had all six of her kids at home, but it’s only Truely. That doesn’t make for exciting filming material…. -
She’ll stay for the plain and simple reason that she has nowhere to go to. Meri still sort of belongs to the family although she’s practically an outcast. If she leaves she’ll lose what little she has there too as I doubt anyone will come and see her. Mariah will side with Kody like she did before so she’ll lose her only child as well. Her friend lives in the B&B so she can’t go there either.

Kody Brown: The Man Who Survived a KNIFE to the KIDNEYS!
LilyD replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
I so wish I knew what Kody’s thinking right now! I don’t think he’s sad. I’m guessing he’s mainly confused and mad for being dumped. After all he’s so awesome, cared so much for his wives, really looked after them and all their kids. Oh and we shouldn’t forget his handsome looks…. how could anyone dump HIM?? -

LilyD replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
Yay, good for Christine! I was one of those who firmly believed she was ready to jump. Glad she did it! On a sad note though…I don’t think she’ll have her own show. Christine will be just another single mum. There are probably a few million of those in the US. Nothing special like 20 kids, a surviving in the wilderness or polygamist husband. -
It's like Janelle and Christine are married to each other, and Kody was just the sperm donor who passes by sometimes, when he's burned through all his money or when TLC shows up for filming. (Sorry, you forgot two things lol) You're spot on with Janelle and Christine. They should consider finding one house for the two of them with partially separated areas. Their kids would love to see them together. Christine and Janelle's kids have always been close.

I partly agree. We have loads of excuses for not wanting to exercise and we can do way more than we think. But if you’re really tired (after a long day at work or a shattered night with your kids) it can be very hard to get off the sofa and do a work out, though funnily enough, you usually feel a lot fitter afterwards! -
Fortunately, most of their kids seem to have turned into pretty ok people. Imagine 15 Kody-clones… that would have seriously had devastating consequences to mankind….
