  1. I don't understand how Hatake is dead from that. I thought they were like Highlander lite. Destroying the brain or beheading was the only way for them to die. Didn't that one immortal from last season survive starvation for years? Oh look at me. Trying to make sense of this show. Sorry, I was being silly. Either way I hope they leave it open. Is it wrapped up? IS IT? Maybe the fetus is immortal. Will forever be a fetus. I wish I hadn't of thought of that. Even as a joke because it just reminded me of that playable trailer P.T.
  2. Hatake! I loved in the end when she gets wheeling to the dinner table of insanity she just looks at both bodies. Looks straight ahead, pauses and is like "ummm..NOPE! And screams. The pause is what made it for me.
  3. When he said "thot" I was thinking he meant "thought". Like she's just a thought. Well...damn. I feel old.
  4. My only regret..is that..I have boneitis. RIP Annelise.
  5. I agree that the storyline is geared to favor Jamal out of all the brothers but damn Hakeem just makes it so easy to hate. I'm rooting for Andre though, I want Jamal to succeed but I'm in Andre's corner because no one else in that family but Rhonda is. Even though I didn't really like how he set up Jamal I do believe that he didn't think anything like what happened would happen. I'm assuming that Hakeem's friend's aren't from the streets and more of the sidewalk variety otherwise I'm not sure how he'd have met them from his big mansion. I like that they had both of them bring up the possibility of Jamal being hurt and once that idea was naively dismissed they weren't like all systems go. It shows a level of caring that a one note villain wouldn't have. I just love Cookie and Jamal's relationship. I loved the scene at the end in the studio. It just made me smile. I wish we could see more of that with her other sons though. Andre only goes to her if she needs anything and Hakeem is not willing to have a relationship at all. I really do hope we see some development on that from both her others sons. Maybe when Andre's secret bipolar disorder comes out and Hakeem...I don't know gets over his mommy issues? Hakeem had to think about adding up to TWO. I was laughing at that. Also I'm glad that Tianna called him about on his sidepiece.(Is her girlfriend, India, supposed to be someone in this universe? Because if she wasn't they wouldn't name her right in the gossip site?) Like really dude. He really needs to get over himself. His song sucks and honestly, naming his upcoming album "Prince of Empire" is really going to help with him become his own man and not Lucious' son Hakeem. I don't understand why Annika is with Lucious. Her mom said she always went crying to her because he constantly cheated on her. She doesn't need him for money and I really don't think she needed him to find a job. I guess that whole love knows no reason applies to her. It's funny though. When Lucious is with Cookie alone is so different than Annika and him. There's a comfort there and I get that their history is like 99% of that but he has a history with Annika. I'm just not really feeling it. The only time I did was last episode when she helped him shave. Otherwise it seems more business than relationship. Also while he's being newly engaged to her he's thinking about his anniversary with his ex-wife that he's probably been divorced from longer than he was married to. Just putting that out there. It also makes me wonder if Cookie had to put up with Lucious cheating. They seemed tight and so together in all the flashbacks and I just can't see Cookie putting up with that. I understand that Lucious is a dastardly fellow and seriously flirting with being a sociopath but there's just something about their scenes together that humanizes him greatly. I really like him in those scenes. The actors are doing such an excellent job with each other. Last but never the least COOKIE! Yeah she jumped to conclusions and set up a shooting but man when she was on the phone with five different people, setting everything up I was cheering. I can't text two people at the same time without accidentally sending a text for someone else to the other. My wish is for her to take over the company when Lucious is no longer able to run it. Then in 20 or so years they can figure out which brother to give it to.
  6. So...Mike is a fan of The Great Gatsby? I could only focus on the stupid green light at the end of the dock during that scene. I've written stupid papers on that stupid green light.
  7. The Bravermans. They lived. They died. They procreated like rabbits. Except for Haddie. She's literally fell off the face of the Earth thus proving that the world is indeed flat and if you dare leave the West Coast you will disappear into oblivion. All is not lost for Max has the perfect photo for her milk carton.
  8. I liked the slow burn of this episode. I think it'll get to be to much if it's crazy all the time. That can get grating and while this is a soap and I love the crazy, some of my favorite moments from soaps through the years have been the quiet ones. I think it's already going to be crazy most of the time. I don't think that Lucious turned Hakeem against his mother but I don't think he talked her up either. I think he just didn't talk about her at all and Hakeem formed his own opinions on the matter. If Lucious was bad talking Cookie to Hakeem then I think Hakeem would fight back more with Lucious when he complains about her to him and Lucious just laughs or says he needs to respect her. Like why would he say he has to respect her if all Lucious has told him was that Cookie was a terrible person and mother. I don't think he helped at all but I also don't think he threw her under the bus so to speak with Hakeem. So Anika knows now. Makes sense that out of everyone she would know. She does live with him and probably is the one that had him go see a doctor when the symptoms first started. That was sweet scene. I wonder how they're going to progress Lucious' illness though. He said the doctors didn't give him much time and no offense to the reality of the disease but I don't really want to see a bedridden Lucious and to be honest I don't think he's going to let himself go out like that anyway. If this show continues to be a success I wonder how they're going to stretch out his three years. I think Lucious is an ass like 99% of the time but I also don't think the show would be the same without him. Maybe they should've gone with MS which can be easier to play around with timeline wise. I really liked the Andre flashback. I like that they were hanging out and singing together. It's totally going to bite him in the ass, giving Lucious an alibi. I think it was kind of a dumb one too considering Lucious could've just said "Oh yeah I was hanging out with my son." instead being like "Oh I don't know. Maids and stuff." I hope it doesn't turn into Andre getting arrested for it because as evidenced so far Lucious isn't above letting someone take the fall for something he did or at the very least was part of. My favorite part has to be when Anika is like "I'm going to get Titan." and everyone just pretty much laughed at her like "Oh bless your heart, but sit down. This ain't your crowd." Cookie had her moment last episode with the Swedish guys and this was Anika's. I will give her props for still trying to say that she got this after the drive by because I would be like NOPE. All yours Cookie.
  9. My wish for Andre right now is to actually seem like he's part of this family in some way. At this point I feel like you can exchange him for some random executive in the company that's not related to the family who thinks they deserve to run it because they've actually worked for it instead of nepotism. That's probably what they're going for but so far Uncle Vernon seems like more of a family member (is he?) than Andre. Its kind of been bugging me.
  10. Well to be fair Lucious and Cookie are doing the same, except they don't even really feel like Andre is a contender in this race. The reason I don't have a problem with her specifically joining in on this war for the company is that I don't think that she's pushing him to do anything. (Unlike Cookie and Jamal). Andre wants to do this just as much as she wants him to do it. Or at least that's the impression that I got from the first episode when they were talking about it. The only ones that are really trying to fight it are Jamal and Hakeem and even they don't think Andre is actual competition. They just don't want to fight amongst themselves. She is literally the only one in Andre's corner except for maybe Uncle Vernon. In the context of this show so far I do think that they have the most..stable relationship. But that's not really saying a whole lot in this show. I just haven't been shown anything to think that Rhonda and Andre aren't in this together or that she's manipulating him into it. Which is what I totally thought was going to be the case when the show started. I agree with this. No one on this show is going about anything in a healthy manner but if they did there wouldn't really be a show to watch. At least not a show like this and to be honest I don't think I'd find it as interesting. If there was one person who was trying to go about things in a relatively healthy manner I would choose Jamal but that was a whole episode ago. Now he's going to throw down with the rest of him.
  11. Yeah, I want to know if Michael has a job too. Or did he just lounge around that loft all day. I liked last week that they showed that Rhonda has her own thing going career wise. They've definitely done a better job developing her than Michael although I wouldn't mind a little more. Andre and Rhonda are the least fleshed out characters on this show and he's supposed to be one of the brothers. I did like Andre messing with Hakeem after the dinner. Because I will love someone messing with Hakeem always. Also that's one of the few times, even though Andre is scheming, that I felt like he was an actual brother to at least one of them. I would like him to see like he's actually part of this family more often instead of someone who just gets invited to eat dinner with them. Also I really like the way he said "Hakeem" at the end. Also when a guy has to say "I'm a MAN" then it makes me question whether or not they actually are. That goes for Jamal too in his speech to Lucious at the end, even though I loved it. Okay. Here we go. I'm going to admit something. I love Andre and Rhonda's relationship. I really do. I do think that they have an open relationship and it seems like they're the only ones on this show that are honest with each other. These two crazy kids found each other and made something that works. Kinks and all. I can't hate that. They're scheming little schemers who scheme...but as a team. I find it interesting how they are together. I keep trying to see where one side is manipulating the other but other than when he was trying to not take his meds, they've been completely honest with each other and on the same page. Which can't be said for Hakeem and Naomi Campbell. That was skeevy. I thought it was funny how Hakeem was like "Yeah my dad gives me money and pretty much everything but I totally blew it up last week ALL BY MYSELF." Um...no you didn't Hakeem. I seem to remember someone begging their big brother for help...like all the time when it comes to music. His big great talent. So far the best talent I've seen from him is his Pouty Face. I hope we see Puma again. if only because I know Lucious would hate it but also if Lucious is getting some on the regular than so should Cookie. She's the one that's been locked up for 17 years and Puma would be kind to her. I want someone other than Jamal to be nice to Cookie.
  12. Because we live in an extremely invasive media centric world and famous people have pictures of their kids all over the place. Especially if they actually want to be part of the industry. (Will Smith's kids just being one example) That being said, I still think he would totally be profiled. I'll always remember an episode commentary from the show Psych where the two main characters were being pulled over by cops. James Roday was talking about how when they were shooting the scene Dule Hill would put his put both his hands on the dashboard and he asked him why he was doing that. Dule Hill just said that was something you're supposed to do. James Roday had no idea, and to be honest neither did I. It was told as a funny story but it always struck me as sad. If Daniel was trying to make a commentary on the Obama administration I don't think that Hakeem was the right character to do it with. I think he can know about Ferguson and all the big headlines news because you can't escape that, but I have a hard time believing that Hakeem even pays attention to what exactly Obama role in any of it. The way they've portrayed his character so far I just can't see him actually caring all that much about Obama or politics either way unless it serves his own self promotion. It just rings false. Now I did believe Lucious when he was getting choked up in his news when he was talking about Trayvon Martin and what it's like for some people to grow up in this country, even after his performance about Bunky's murder.
  13. Man this show really wanted to start off exactly how it ended. ALL OVER THE DAMN PLACE! It is like thirty years into the future. Julia can't be all that surprised that he's dead. He wasn't exactly young when the show started. Also did Julia use the same boat as Peter and crew to get to the island 30 years later? Did the Coast Guard not update their equipment? Are Immortals like Sebaceans? Can Sarah put her embryo into stasis? It was incredibly stupid to put the whole pregnancy storyline in the "Last time..." if they weren't going to address it in some way. People who suffered through the first season are certainly not going to forget about it and newer viewers are also going to be like "What about that baby thing?". Also I still don't really care for her character. Or even Peter really. I am interested to see where he's at with his traitorous self though. They'll probably drop that storyline though. The new virus definitely gives me a Last of Us vibe. Unfortunately I don't think the quality of writing is going to match. Saying all that I'm still going to watch. Oh god help me I'm still going to watch. I don't even know why I'm interested but I am. And the previews made me even more intrigued. I want to know what happens with Alan. I want to know what happened/happens(since we're going crazy with timelines this season) to Julia. I want to see Hatake and he was in the previews looking like he may have lost it a bit.
  14. Considering his reaction to her before she got the broom I doubt he would've reacted differently to her wanting to comfort him either way. With this character I have to keep reminding myself that we are only two episodes in. He will evolve....eventually. And I really hope that he does let Cookie into his life. I just don't see it happening anytime soon and I don't think he's going to grow up or mature anytime soon either.
  15. Oh I totally get that it would be realistic. But I watch Homeland and I don't need another Carrie. I don't think they're going to go there with Andre and Vernon. (Thank you for this thread because the only name I could remember for him was "J.C." from New York Undercover.) I think it's just standard plots within plots. I think Vernon was just hedging his bets on who is going to take the company and Andre was saying that he won't forget it when he's on top. It makes sense to support Andre. No one but Lucious thinks Hakeem can do it and Jamal has shown zero interest in running a business.
  16. Considering she can't get her own daughter to at least CLOSE HER DAMN DOOR, I'm not surprised. Also building things is mans work. Women folk can't do such things. I did like that there was a police siren going by as Hank walked into her open doorway. Close the door and get an actual lock. Seriously. Or maybe look for a more appropriate apartment. I think Kristina was annoying when Adam was wavering but honestly the person that annoyed me the most was Jasmine. When she was talking about doing this for THE family what she really meant was for HER family so that Crosby wouldn't throw a a fit because he couldn't get what he wanted. He's an adult with two kids. They really need to stop babying him. He puts on his sad face (which he's really good at) and they have to do what he wants to do. Actually I'm not even mad at him because he was going to at least try to go with it. This storyline is stupid. It's a stupid storyline to have to end the show with. Also with the film thing. I had to clean my dad's house last year while he was in the hospital. I can't tell you how many rolls of film I found. Also dog biscuits under the couch. Lots and lots of dog biscuits.
  17. I literally cheered when the news lady said that. I thought Hakeem did it because he wants everyone to think that he's something that he's not and never has been. Which is some badass gangster. Remember what Cookie said. "The streets ain't made for everybody. That's why they made sidewalks." Well Hakeem is something that needs to be on the sidewalk but thinks he belongs on the streets. Just because his dad came from the streets doesn't mean Hakeem knows anything about it. Just stories and people. As far as I can tell Hakeem only knows the good life. He was just a baby when they had it rough. I don't care that he did grow up comfortable. That's what Cookie and Lucious wanted for them (or what anyone wants for their kids). It just annoys the crap out of me how fake he is. Andre might be in business suits now but out of all the kids he would remember the most what it was like growing up without all that money. From what they've shown so far Jamal has all the talent and Hakeem only half of it. Like a really good singer that can only sing other people's lyrics. If Andre stays on his medication then I don't see why he wouldn't be able to run the business. I was talking about this with a friend of mine. Obviously Rhonda is shady, they all are, but I don't think she necessarily wants the company to herself. She seems to have her own business as a photographer? or something. I do think that she wants the power that would come with being married to someone in charge of the company. So far I think she does care for him, but I'm ready to change my mind at a moment's notice. I went into the first episode thinking that she'd be the one manipulating him into wanting to pit his brothers against each other but it seems to me that he's all in of his own choice. Probably resentment because he is literally the only one of the kids that actually works for a living. Yes, nepotism helped him along fantastically, but he's still the one that went to school and does the job. When he's on his meds he's good at his job (was he even bad at his job when he wasn't on them for two days). Even Lucious admitted to that in the first episode. Lucious' problem with him is that he's not musically inclined. I really hope that they don't have him going on and off his meds over and over again. That would get tedious quick.
  18. If she went against orders then that would give away her double spy status wouldn't it? I have no clue if it is her or not. It could be that other lady that was with her. Was that Shahi's stunt double also? Maybe she's it so they can play with our emotions until (lalalalalala, refriger-what? I CAN'T HEAR YOU) and during Shaw's return. I wouldn't mind them going back to POI of the week.. I think with American shows especially there's only so much lore episodes that you can do within a season or else it'll get unnecessarily frustrating. (Which at times it has been) It's the consequences of having a bajillion episodes per season. They've been doing a really good job with it that I wouldn't want them to do episode after episode of it if they can't service the story like I feel like they have been doing lately. So far I think they've been doing a good job of advancing the core storyline throughout the season while also evolving it so it doesn't turn into something stupid like so many other shows.
  19. This is his only saving grace for me right now. The only thing that I like about him. I almost feel bad for him on that burn that he's going to get with that girl. Man she was creepy watching him at the end. Like Fatal Attraction creepy. RUN HAKEEM! YOU IN DANGER GIRL! Also girl whose name I don't know, that goes for her too. Because once she messes with Hakeem, even though he's the ungrateful ass that he is, Cookie...oohh Cookie. I see a broomstick in her future. This is a soap. It's going to happen and when it does it's going to be amazing! Speaking of Lucious. You magnificent bastard. If I didn't watch the first episode and blinked during the flashback I totally would've bought his performance about his friend's death. It's going to be crazy if that little secret comes out. You know what I think affects Lucious more with Cookie is when she's quietly disappointed in him. Like during the scene when they were going over the interview questions. I love Crazy Cookie but I want to see more of that kind of quiet, world weary Cookie. She does really good in those scenes. When she's screaming and throwing shoes it sometimes makes it easier for them to dismiss her. I take it no one else knows about Andre being bipolar? Since he met his wife in college I'm guessing that his symptoms presented itself then and they kept it a secret? Because that's easy for college students to do?
  20. Actually that was the one part that I wasn't sold on this episode. I don't know if it was the acting or just the sheer difference between her as Control and her as Mom but when she was talking to her daughter it felt like customer service voice to me. It just sounded so fake. Overall I think she did an excellent job. I think her slow turn is going to be interesting to watch. I think they wrote a code that Samaritan wanted. Once that was done, boom, dead so no one would know and be able to use it against it. That's why it wouldn't let Control access the hard drive. That's what I thought happened anyway. Even though we didn't really see the team until halfway into the episode I did like how they kept them in it in the beginning through the newscast. It was only subdued by the time we got to them, before that it was all mayhem and destructive. Also, they can really get around. I'm excited to see where they go with this story but I'm still sad about no more Shaw for the time being. I hope, even if they "confirm" Shaw's death for the team that there's no body to show. Then I can keep my hope alive. In the various interviews that they've been giving these last two weeks they say the ways that Shaw can be brought back and some of them are with dead!Shaw. If Sarah Shahi decides to come back to the show once she feels comfortable to (sooner rather than later please!) I would prefer it to be fulltime and with the team. A glimpse here and there can be fun but I just don't want her to be dead. Just leave me with some hope guys!
  21. Kyle MacLachlan Officially Returning for Reboot Please let the next person be Sherilyn Fenn. Please please please! She did the Psych tribute episode, I can't imagine her not being back for the revival.
  22. I think Jessie Spano said it best. "I'm so excited! I'm so scared!"

    S01.E01: Pilot

I'm gonna be honest here. I only checked this out because I stumbled on Fox's preview for this over the weekend and realized that Jonathan from Buffy was one of the writer/creators. JONATHAN! I support the former Buffy cast, except for maybe Nicholas Brendan, in everything they do. That being said, I did find myself enjoying it because as try as I might, I can't quit them! I just love the ridiculous soapiness of it all. (I've quit daytime thank goodness, but I'll find myself checking it out again if I hear one of my old timey favorites are coming back only to be severely disappointed...everytime.) I don't really care about the music and those are always the parts that I'll glaze over unless it works with the storyline. I noticed it about a year ago and got confused. I thought maybe there was an 80s event or parade happening that I didn't know about. Which happens because I live in New York and feel like people do shit like that all the time. I was informed that no, that is the thing kids are doing these days. I pretty much equate it to hipsters wearing birth control glasses. They really did an excellent job with that. I think that it helps sell the history they have. I was also surprised that Lucious didn't try to bad talk Cookie with Hakeem when he was angry about the broom beating. That kid has no idea where they came from. Which brings up the question of why is Hakeem to favorite? Because he's terrible. It is inconceivable to me that Lucious think that he's the one that should be the successor. He can't even make his own music. He had to have his big gay brother to help (oh nos!). I did like that he gave Jamal credit on that song though. The only good thing he did the whole episode.
  24. The slow motion "death" scene was some standard dramatic device at the end. AND IT TOTALLY GOT ME! Dammit it got me! Also "death" better stay in quotations! DON'T PLAY WITH MY EMOTIONS PROMO!
  25. But why?!?!?!! That was my biggest problem with Nero. I just never understood why he was so loyal to Jax and so in love with Gemma. At least with the club, they watched Jax grow up. I can somewhat understand their blind loyalty.
