I wasn’t very articulate in my last post. The thing that bothered me the most was ‘Nathan thought it was unwise’. As if the mandatory evacuation order was unimportant. As if Nathan choosing to keep his family there would have been just as acceptable to Jill and David. As if they didn’t make their feelings known to Nathan.

What a strange way of wording that. Nathan thought it unwise. Didn’t Nurie think so too? Why offer this statement at all? Just mention the hurricane. We can figure out the rest - and thankfully for once the Kellers showed some sense.

Keep in mind that having child support and custody agreements doesn’t mean Kody will live up to them. He doesn’t pay anything now, he’s not likely to just because a court tells him too. I don’t expect he sees Truely often now, or that he will show up to visit on a regular basis if there’s a regular schedule set. Kody is the ultimate presentation of an absentee parent. I also don’t anticipate that he would ask for extended visits for holidays or summer. They don’t have a room for her at Kody and Robyn’s house.

I hope we don’t get a lot of the Christine and David romance. Given that we saw the wedding last season, I’d prefer we keep the episode scenes on other stuff. Like the Kody /Robyn interaction that felt unscripted for a change. She actually seemed like a decent human being for once. While he was as delusional about his behavior as ever.

So Hannah gets a purity ring for her birthday… while Ellen’s daughter Hope gets a beach weekend 18th birthday with several girls/women of her own age( and her family). Hannah and Tessa are dolled up what Jill considers modest ‘prom’ dress while Hope and her friends wear comfy lounge pants.

It’s one thing to educate your children about reproduction, the advantages of waiting for intercourse until it’s someone you care deeply about, the cons of pregnancy too soon in life, etc. That’s responsible parenting. It’s another thing to make them think a hole will open and the devil himself will grab you if you kiss before marriage. They don’t have a choice in accepting these rings and in verbally ( and maybe even in writing) committing to ‘purity’. Can you imagine what the consequences of telling their parents no would be?

I don’t understand why you would wait to publicly wish your daughter a Happy Birthday 5 days after her birthday. It’s not as if she spent five days editing the video. The truth is she wanted to post her Vermont video and had to explain why Hannah was there.

Anyone remember when it was that Janelle started selling Plexus? Was it before or after she left Kody? If after, was it before or after Logan’s wedding? Because that’s the timeframe of this episode. So what was Janelle’s income situation in October 2022. And had she recovered financially from buying the RV by then?

Shower, dress, of course. Everyone likes to be clean even if it’s just to ride in the RV. But makeup and perfume? My spouse hadn’t seen me in make-up for years, even on a ‘date night’. Too many people are allergic to perfume for me to wear it. She is so old fashioned and insecure about her and David. Does she get her marriage information from 1930’s women’s magazine articles?

Probably right after the couple’s first dance. I think that was the last photo she has shared of the reception. Her and David can’t be seen enjoying that type of stuff.

Janelle took her retirement money out when they moved to LV. None of them were working after they moved there. Since she took herself out of the pension system, she wouldn’t be entitled to health care in the future from the state pension system. Regardless of premium amount. I’m not even sure she would have worked for the state long enough to qualify for a pension. I believe only Savannah and Truely were born after they moved to Lehi. Janelle was the person who originally purchased the Lehi home. I don’t know where she got the money for the down payment though.

I’m now on season 3. Can I just say there should be a train station in this show? IYKYK.

My opinion is that it’s a sort of roll your eyes, unkind hand signal to everyone that doesn’t think like they do. People who consider the modern medical and other advances to be a good thing. People that they consider ‘woke’. The Rods seem to think that the morals, beliefs, attire of centuries past are better than today. That it’s better to swim in filth in your street clothes than to go in a pool with swimsuits because that’s how it was done a couple hundred years ago. That it’s better to be exposed to various diseases than to be vaccinated. However they are more than happy to take advantage of modern things when it suits them.

MyKelti had a boyfriend in high school because we saw Kody giving her the lecture about swapping hormones via kissing.

I don’t even know what that was all about. Is there an adulterer/ adulteress in their midst? Are we ranting about Philip arguing with David, Tim arguing with David, Jill arguing with Heidi? They are arguing along gender lines, according to her quote. Tim made a point of saying they went to church after their honeymoon. So stop complaining and be happy they did so

My understanding is that they went to North Carolina for their ‘retreat’. So I think it was at a church or church camp there.

I know Logan went his own way once he went to college. However it never occurred to me that he really hated being on the show. I knew his wedding wasn’t filmed per their choice. Everyone went out of their way to not even mention who ‘the bride and groom’ were. No one mentioned any detail even in the afterward talking heads. No photos. We of course saw photos on other threads.

Avalon’s reaction to the babies was absolutely normal.
