Would be a shame if Honora did a "hit and run" on this thread. I think it's so interesting when contestants respond here (like Angela on this season's Project Runway did after she was auf'd). Found her FB page: https://www.facebook.com/honora.bowen She mentions that she tried to start a fire with her shirt (?) so I guess that was not forbidden.

Anna totally should have told Mary to fry ice re the diaphragm. After all, she also knows about Mr. Pamook!! Now, how's this for a theory: Two people (Anna and Blake) separately used the term "Good Luck" to Mary re Tony Gillingham. And he also blew off Mr. Bates when he tried to engage in conversation about Mr. Green last week. SO..... I'm thinking Tony is a murderer and HE killed his valet, for reasons unknown other than I need this relationship between the two of them to be not. boring. I liked this week better than last, though. kpw801 I totally just said the same thing re Tony!!!

Go back to the one-hour format, focus more on the actual runway show (critique EVERYTHING, don't dismiss anyone as 'safe') and cut out all/most of the product placement. I mean shit... does anything dramatic ever happen at Mood? Does anyone ever go over budget or not make it to the register on time (In the olden days, I think there were some close calls there). At this point it's just a five minute commercial for the store. Honestly I think the move to Lifetime was just the kiss of death for the show and there's no hope. But that's the Mary Sunshine in me.

"Notamangate" might be my favorite word, ever.

UGH.... way to tease me, show. First I thought we were getting rid of Scarlett FOR REALS. Then I thought Juliette was gonna get a cute pixie. THEN I had to FF through those terrible live performances which made no sense. And finally, after reminding me why I liked the damned thing to begin with (Rayna/Deacon chemistry), you send her off with that wet noodle at the end. I am disappointed. (As are all of the houseplants and lamps that thought they were going to take centerstage this season.)

The clip I could watch over and over is Devin weeping about being in a house "where the greats have played". OH MY SIDES. This isn't Carnegie Hall, asshole.

I've been married and divorced three times too, but I don't think that would make me good at any reality show that wasn't entitled "Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time."

OMG that was soooo worth it just to watch Frankie's face as the TOP THREE "America's Favorite Houseguest" vote-getters were revealed and none of them were him. HOLLA!

I think the only way that former Survivor or TAR contestants end up on BB is if they do [ahem] "Celebrity Big Brother" here. (in that context, Rob Mariano is a celebrity) Going from BB to one of the other Triple Crown shows is a step up, as it were. Not so much the other way around. That said, I think Jeff and Jordan have the best shot at the Triple Crown.

Wait, I thought the guest star was Jenna Jameson!! (seriously, wasn't that her in the Skankenstein scene?) I have to go look it up now. This show is absolutely painful to watch now. Maybe next week Gemma will be reading "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, Murderous, Disgusting, Vanilla-Fudge-Haired Grandma" to Abel and we will have to "get" the "subtle" "message" in the title.

I'm soooo excited. I had never watched when it originally aired and I just started watching S1 randomly this week, on iTunes. I wasn't intending to buy every season but watching through methods can be annoying, so the Netflix option is great. I know the show isn't perfect, but I'm enjoying it (and all of the now-hilarious pop culture references... Madonna and Sean Penn, Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton...too funny). And I just watched the Rory's Birthday Parties episode and fully understand why it was entered into the Canon. Really great. OK, not reading much of anything on these GG threads because I don't want to be spoiled. Carry on! :)

S21.E06: The Girl Who Got Five Frames
panthergirl13 replied to OnceSane's topic in America's Next Top Model [V]
The only thing missing from Lenox's tearless "crying" was a very loud 'BOO HOO HOO!!!" I mean seriously. It actually looked as though they ran up to her with an eyedropper at the very end to create one little stream coming down her face. When Victoria on Big Brother can fake cry better than you can, you've got a real problem. That said, Kelly Cutrone's "kill me now" expression during the musical interlude was beyond priceless. -
While I'm a relentless nitpicker about almost every other show I watch (hey, I'm a Virgo...what can I say?) I put all of that aside for this batshit crazy thing. I just love this show from top to bottom, and The Shirtless Horseman was the icing on the cupcake this week.

I really love her as an actor, but damn if she doesn't look like Squidward to me.
-
I loved this guy at the end "Day 72... " LOL!! I thought he was amazingly tolerant of her and rather than argue with her ridiculous 'strategy', he just left her to her own devices. Next season on Naked and Afraid, two survivalists will be dropped on the moon. Good luck, bitches!

Is Mary forgetting that Anna was there for the Mr. Pamook situation? Why is she putting on this whole "Oh, how I wish ladies could give their men a test drive..." act? And it might be time for Isis to change her name. Just sayin'.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt this way. I looked at the clock multiple times. Beautifully shot and acted, as always, but honestly I liked the Dougal moment at the end because at least it added some tension and depth. I don't think his intentions are creepy at all (non-book reader here, so I honestly don't know). I think he's actually in love with her and doesn't know what to do with that. That's more interesting to me than pretty-boy sex. (and what was with the "good lover" thing? that made me laugh out loud... seriously, Clare?? Also, just because she said it didn't hurt doesn't mean this guy would have the first clue about a woman's orgasm, so to say "does that happen every time?" was absurd to me.) I realize I'm in the minority here but this was just .... meh.

Ugh.... all that scripted dialogue delivered by non-actors was PAIN.FUL. Context and direction can be supplied by editing. Tell these clowns to sit around and reminisce about the season, and then get a decent editor to pull out the moderately interesting/funny parts and pair them with the video clips and you're good to go. It may be revisionist history on my part, but I don't think they used to script the show as much as they have this season.

S05.E01: Golden Days For Boys And Girls
panthergirl13 replied to Athena's topic in Boardwalk Empire [V]
Yep, I'm aware she was from North Jersey. But she was the ONLY character on that show with that weird accent, and they were all from Joisey. Re Brooklyn and the time period, my entire family is from Brooklyn and that time period. We used to laugh at my father because he pronounced the word "earl" as "oil" and the word "oil" as "earl". Many of the BE characters have accents that are correct for the period, but several are completely off. "Dese, Dems and Dose" is right on the mark. But the Boston or midwestern vowel pronunciations... you can flush dose down the cherlet. Anyway don't mean to get off-topic here but it's just something that annoys me about the show in general. -
How did I not find this thread earlier?? OMG, the babies. I am a member of the Retired Racing Greyhound Rescue Cult. Yes, it's a cult. But a good cult. I can't have a dog anymore because I have developed insane asthma (and please don't say there are hypoallergenic dogs because there really aren't... my greyhound Kelso was as close as I'm gonna get, and I still went lights and siren to the hospital twice.) Here's my heart dog... RIP big guy!

I'm enjoying the podcast, MOSTLY. I loved the Breaking Bad official podcasts too, save for the exhausting level of back-slapping and Vince Gilligan's need to refer to everyone including the most insignificant extra as "wunnerful". But it was an endearing tic of his and I came to love him. What I'm not sure I'm going to come to love about this podcast is the distracting sound of cancer sticks being lit and smoked. (frankly, it sounds more like he's smoking a joint and I'd be more accepting of that, so just fess up already RON.) It's just something that grosses me out AND I've got a personal bone to pick with tobacco, so YMMV. Otherwise, I love insider info and showrunner commentary as a rule so I'll stick with it.

S16.E38: Live Eviction #14 / HoH Comp #15

Marry me. -
I still can't get over the fact that she married someone named John Bluher, making her FRAU BLUHER [neigh!!!!!] Horseface and all. (I just finished S4 of Couples Therapy). Also she apparently made a weird, drunken speech at her wedding (no!) where she talked about Russell and how he abused her and also plugged some weight loss company. She is the worst. Hope all the wedding guests gave her pea green towels.
