I'm an atheist and I actually do find this storyline interesting, because of all the things a person can be and get elected to office in this country, an atheist ain't one of them. That said, I found the rest of the episode kind of stupid and boring. I hope the show gets back on track. Last season was so amazing. And if they were going to move offices, couldn't they just move to NEW YORK? Honestly every time they reference Cook County or Illinois or whatever I'm always like "huh?? Oh right... Faux Chicago..."

I didn't like this week's episode as much as the previous two, but mostly because it didn't seem to move things along very much. I'm still on board, though, and trust that interesting things are afoot.

I meant to post this last week, but since they showed it again on the 'previously on' segment I'll mention it now: Bob doesn't get a horrified look on his face about his missing leg until the camera pulls back and WE see that it's gone? That was like something out of Loony Tunes.

S06.E05: The Scale Of Affection Is Fluid
panthergirl13 replied to formerlyfreedom's topic in Parenthood [V]
They would have been better off in the old house. The showrunners probably lost access to the property or something. Still, at one point Camille was looking at an apartment in a high-rise... that would have made more sense. -
S04.E03: Edward Mordrake, Part 1
panthergirl13 replied to Tara Ariano's topic in American Horror Story
Not really. My family was really into Halloween in the 50s and 60s. We exchanged PRESENTS (???) and had a giant party every year. Store bought costumes were rare (I think I had one Donald Duck costume but everything else was homemade). My mother hilariously dressed me up as the Virgin Mary one year, and trust me... she didn't get that in a store. My father and my uncle were usually in drag. -
What show is Liv gonna recap once Face Off ends?

Wait, Luke's son is named "Colt"?? Does he have a daughter named "Winnie" too?

S06.E05: The Scale Of Affection Is Fluid

My sentiments exactly on all of this. It was also really weird how they jumped from daylight to nighttime at the beginning when usually they are showing what's happening with different characters...at the same general time? Or at least that's what I thought? What a mess. It's a shame, because for several seasons this was really a great show. The writing and character development were both very good, and both have zoomed downhill. ("Remember when you took Adam and I camping?" Are they purposely trying to make Crosby sound like an idiot or did they hire a 4th grader to write this scene?) -
I cracked up when Heidi introduced "AMY Rossum" before the runway shows. Hasn't she been a guest judge before? Does Heidi actually not know her name? Pffft. Can someone explain how the decoy collection thing works? Do those other designers get to walk their collections in front of the same packed house? If so, what's the big deal about 'making it to Fashion Week' if so many actually do? TIA Re Tim... someone mentioned seeing a tremor in one hand. That could explain a lot. I have YOPD (Young Onset Parkinson's, like MJ Fox) and depression/mood issues can be related to the disease or to treatment or both.

Not sure if anyone's already posted this, but these Verizon "Half Fast" commercials crack me up every time. http://youtu.be/GQdhS57hUyk

Jenna's imitation of Nikki was worth the price of admission.

Hoo boy, the only thing that Zoe replacing Juliette proved is that ZOE IS NO JULIETTE (and that actress is no Hayden Panettiere). Really highlighted the difference between having "it" and not. Was Will dressed like a sailor when he was walking, er "cruising", through the park? Talk about dragging out your tired TV tropes. Jeez, show.

If they don't have an episode dedicated to mocking Italians before the end of the series, I'm really gonna feel left out. (I've got your porno title right here: "That's a Nice Pizza Ass")

KS singing "Greensleeves" at the end was so ridiculous and on-the-nose (including the lyrics about "my own blue eye") that it completely wrecked any moderately sad feelings I may have had about Bobby (on of the few characters left that I like AT ALL). And speaking of noses, Greensleeves was a nickname my father would give to my cousins when they'd use an arm to wipe a runny nose. I'm sure that's not the deep or profound reference Sutter was hoping to call to mind, but there you have it.

One thing is for certain, this show is getting people thinking/talking. That would be a success in my book if I were the creator.

She's also on The Knick, so clearly someone who has benefitted from her 'period' look. :) She's really good on both shows. I think the flashback casting has been absolutely stellar. Not only did that little actress have Gillian's cadence down, but even her tone of voice was spot-on. Really impressive finds for all of the key characters in flashback. I didn't like last season at all, so I'm very glad that they've done such a great job wrapping it up this year.

I'm so with you here. That's why I'm on board as well. Usually, affairs are represented by people who can't keep their hands off each other (see Scandal) and while that certainly happens, I think this kind of thing happens too. Just usually not on TV shows. ;)

And see, for me this all makes perfect sense. The attraction to Alison, from Noah's perspective, has ZERO to do with whether he loves or likes his wife (as is often the case in real life). It's a completely separate set of feelings that he's having to navigate because of his wife's very existence, but she hasn't "driven him to cheating on her" as is so often the trope that is used. From Alison's perspective, she has to apply some unlikable qualities to the wife in order to make herself feel less bad about the whole thing. So I believe that Alison's version of Noah's wife is exaggerated to what she needs it to be, in order to assuage her own guilt. While I like the concept and the show a lot, I agree that the hotness/sexual urgency factor between Noah and Alison isn't really there. So far I've been intrigued enough with the story for me to take that leap of faith. Hope it continues.

Mistakes, Bloopers, ETC in the Gilmore Girls
panthergirl13 replied to AlinaRay's topic in Gilmore Girls
Making my way through the show on Netflix (for the first time, not a rewatch) but there is a HUGE mistake in the credits in S3 E10 "That'll Do, Pig". In the opening episode credits Marion Ross' name is spelled Marion Rodd.... not kidding. When I saw "Guest Starring Marion Rodd" I thought "Who the fuck is that??" and then of course when the grandmother shows up I realized what I had seen. I went back and watched it again, in case I developed some weird form of dyslexia, but nope: there it was. I even added it to "Goofs" on IMDB. I'm really stunned that a mistake that blatant, especially with an actor's name, wouldn't have been caught by anyone. -
Yes, and I'd agree that is not unprofessional. And sometimes they will say things like your therapist did in order to get you in touch with your own anger at the person. But crying? Totally unheard of. I'm always in awe of that fact that therapists CAN keep it together even when you tell them horrific things.

My sentiment exactly. When I was a kid I'd sit at the kitchen table and dump a million things I found in the kitchen into a huge bowl and mix it all together. It was not meant for anyone to actually consume (least of all Padma). I usually don't pay attention to all the interactive crap all over the screen, but did notice that you can now order the ingredients and recipe for the winning dish and have it delivered to your house. Pretty nifty if you have the skills.

When Zeek was telling Julia what an awesome mother she is, I could only think "Huh? Who are you talking about? Have you met that little asshole she calls her daughter?" That said, I don't think they are making Joel the villain here. In fact I think what he's most heartbroken about with the impending divorce is not being a part of this insane family anymore because regardless what WE think of them all, he seems to like these crazy people. Sorry Joel.

S07.E06: Smoke 'Em If You Got 'Em

What is with this "Doctor" Jenn?? Tearing up during Treach's apology? (I know she also had a breakdown after the one-on-one secret session with Teen Mom and that was insane too). I have never, ever seen such a thing and i've been in tons of therapy. I've tried my damndest to make my shrinks cry, but no dice. Maybe she's a 'therapist' the same way Patti Stanger is a 'matchmaker who comes from a long line of matchmakers' (spoiler: she's not).
