  1. Week 25: 4/5 YTD: 65/125 7* Better week for me.
  2. There was a movie I’d seen called Copperhead, released maybe 6 or 7 years ago. It was about anti-war Northerners, so that helped with FJ. I knew prairie schooner, barb, and Calamity Jane.
  3. Yes, I read somewhere that Alex had a cold during this week’s taping, but is doing fine now. Not sorry to have a new champ. Mackenzie had that sway, and her voice had a flat intonation that I found annoying. Really liked the woman in the middle, though.
  4. We had a discussion here not too long ago about Spoon River Anthology, written by Edgar Lee Masters. Disappointed it was a TS.
  5. I worked at Burger King in about 1975 - 1976 or thereabouts. I remember the jingle very well!
  6. S.W.A.T. had a story line with one of the female team members entering into a poly relationship with an engaged couple. It didn't work out, but it was an interesting story over several episodes. Yes, if the writers are pushing the will they/won't they have a baby for Darlene and Ben, they need to back it up and just stop. I agree.
  7. NY Times site won't let me read unless I subscribe. ☹️ The information on the other site was very interesting. Bothered me a bit that they used the phrase, "real parents" to refer to the biological parents. My adoptive parents are my real parents. I thought I'd seen some of the segments before, but they're still informative. I was a bit surprised that John Turturro's didn't mention his brother Nicholas.
  8. I was hoping the "I am Murtagh" moment would turn in to a "I am Spartacus" moment, and all three would claim to be Murtagh. I was grossed out by the autopsy-in-progress body. Claire already figured out that he had a burst appendix, and subsequent "medical" treatment meant he would die. According to wiki, the first successful surgery was in 1759, so likely that knowledge wouldn't have spread to the colonies yet, but Claire could have performed an appendectomy if the man had come to see her sooner. In Season 4, Claire used her medical expertise to help while at the theatre(?) but I don't recall what the problem was. What year are we in? Gov. Tryon served in NC from 1765-1771. And yes, Bonnet can die any time now. A slow, lingering, horrible death preferably.
  9. Turns out there is a Bucksnort, in Tennessee, but not Nebraska. I googled and found a mention.
  10. Week 24: 2/5 0 asterisk YTD: 61/120 7*
  11. I just read that Yellowstone has been renewed for Season 4. That’s all I’ve heard for now.
  12. I very rarely watched TBBT, and even I appreciated the cafeteria shot! Aw, Missy. Totally agree with this!
  13. I knew all those except Chile. I’ve seen Nelson’s HMS Victory in Portsmouth, England. I guessed Lebanon for FJ; that’s one for me this week.
  14. Yes, you're right. It was the episode where baby Jack was born, and they were all at the hospital. Kevin was (not-so) secretly drinking, but Zoe was still with him, that I was thinking of. A couple of episodes later, Zoe realized that Kevin was serious about having a child or children, and she wasn't, and completely broke it off.
  15. Kate knows that Kevin doesn't have a great history with women. He & Sophie married young and that didn't last. We've seen him have several girlfriends where he didn't take care of the relationships that didn't last. We even saw it with Beth's cousin - he ruined that with his alcoholism and addictive behavior. Kevin is a complex character, with many good traits as well as destructive ones. Madison is her best friend, and Kate doesn't want her to be hurt, as that is the pattern with Kevin. If Kate had to choose sides, that would be devastating to her.
  16. It seems as if each episode is a stand-alone story; you don't need to have seen previous episodes for them to make sense or be funny. Though they do refer to things that happened previously (such as the pre-nup discussion). Abishola's uncle and aunt were so funny! And I don't remember hearing that Bob's sibs were twins. Loved Dottie trying to give them away! Not everyone sees it, but I think Bob & Abishola have great chemistry. I loved their late-night phone conversation.
  17. Enjoyed this! The hockey mask fright was so funny! So, Dave and Calvin are at the hockey game, Tina and Gemma are in Vegas, and Marty and Malcolm are watching a scary movie. Where's Grover - has he become the Chuck (from Happy Days)?
  18. I was happy for the transplant patient, but the darker side is, did the former number 1 patient die he could move up? Cliques lunch tables were pretty funny (when it's not you getting snubbed). I've liked the show and it's continuing to improve.
  19. I liked Danny, Baez, and the Texas Ranger. I didn't know ahead of time that Lyle Lovett was going to be in this episode. His part was well played, and while a bit stereotypical, not OTT. I also liked Jamie owning up to his mistake, even though the investigation cleared him. Also glad Eddie's partner Addison was cleared. I hope he can heal enough to return to the force. Knowing you took someone's life, even in an accident, weighs heavily I would imagine. Loved the hug with the widower. I keep hearing and reading about plant-based "meat," but if I ever tried it, I think I'd have to not know it wasn't real meat. I love Baker, but she needs more to do. Frank was good with the press as well as with Addison.
  20. Week 23: 4/5 1 asterisk YTD: 59/115 7*
  21. I have never liked Reba McEntire, but she and Connie played well off each other. How far would the students have to go from campus to Sheldon's house? How far would John have to bike to get to the bar? I can hand wave that, though it took me out of the story a bit.
  22. (small voice: I couldn't think of Hinkley, and I live in the area that his mother does. He's in the newspaper sometimes when the legal system is figuring out how much time he can spend out of the hospital. I believe he's currently living with his mother and brother. I knew what the answer was, but couldn't pull the name out.)
  23. Is anyone else watching Westminster dog show? It's an event I watch every year, though often recorded and then watched.
  24. I’ll get an asterisk for FJ today too!
