  1. I should have come up with Cleveland, but couldn’t. Couldn’t believe the guess for “breaking the color barrier” or however that was phrased. Babe Ruth, seriously!
  2. I do also, and I'm also very trustworthy.
  3. I didn't get FJ. I was thinking things like cape, bay, mount; equator never came to mind. So much for this week's FJ record.
  4. @Haleth yes that's the one. I had wondered if that ad was in production before Mr. Withers died.
  5. I couldn't see it. I guess I can be thankful for not-quite-perfect vision and a TV that is not one of the bigger ones!
  6. And here I was, marveling at how good Ali’s bald head (cap) looked! But I never thought her wigs were bad either. Loved when she and her dad compared bald heads! Miles has gone through a lot because he’s embraced the God Account. He’s experienced a fair amount of good, too. He’s just not seeing it now due to the loss of Cara and that romantic loss, and what he sees as the inevitable loss of his sister. She really was. Was there an explanation about what happened to her mother?
  7. I especially dislike the WalMart one that uses Stand By Me. I first heard it a day or two after Bill Withers died, and it seemed exploitative to use Withers music so soon after his death.
  8. We watched A Dog's Way Home this afternoon. By near the end, I was a sobbing mess.
  9. On principle, I agree. However, I worked with a young woman in a retail shop who graduated from there. She was in high school when I worked with her. She is truly a lovely person, if horribly misguided, IMHO. Not all the grads drank the kool-aid, but they do tend to skew to the far right. An understatement, but I watch a lot of CNN and the like; it was impossible to escape on certain news outlets. Meh. My DD's a Purdue grad. :-)
  10. Week 31: 5/5 YTD: 85/155 9* Gotta love the College Tournament!
  11. Bob's ex Lorraine sure looks a lot like Dottie in both appearance and mannerisms! Loved Abishola telling her it was time to go. Christina is a bit cray-cray! Kofo and Goodwin on the beach were great!
  12. I had assumed Tina was already menopausal or post-menopausal. So true! I loved both her and Calvin's reactions to skydiving! Grover can be so annoying, but I liked his response to Marty's improving the robot - don't remember exact quote, but it had something to do with the fact that he hadn't actually built his project robot.
  13. Agree. Lovely that her roomie and boyfriend were there for her.
  14. My guess is that she is extradited back to the US and somehow escapes while being transported. But I don't remember enough to know if that's even possible.
  15. No mention of Eddie & Jamie who help a neighbor who has dementia.
  16. Jocasta said they were going to their daughters' estates (I think to be able for all to go elsewhere (America?)), but following the defeat at Culloden, the daughters and their families' estates were burned and all died in the fires. Agree with Roger winning, and passing off Bonnet as Murtagh would be genius!
  17. On the In the Media thread, someone posted there are enough shows to air originals through May 29. My spices are loosely grouped into savory, spicy, and sweet. They're on a 2-tier lazy susan, so they do get jumbled.
  18. But Whopper and Whoppers are similar, not identical or the same.
  19. Wasn't that Whopper the hamburger and Whoppers the malted milk chocolate balls? I've been to Jersey, one of the English Channel islands! It's quite beautiful; we had lovely weather and a great time.
  20. As a kid on a farm in north central Kansas, mid-60’s, we could get KOMA, Oklahoma City, and WLS, Chicago, at night. They both played pop music/rock and roll, and I’d dream about life in a city. Later when I lived in Illinois (late 70’s), I’d listen to WLS with Larry Lujack, Little Tommy, and Animal Stories. They were also the first ones to play Elmo & Patsy singing Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer, before it was commercially released. But I digress. Topic? Surprised the champ was in the red for final. I knew FJ straight away. DD lived there for a time, now lives in England but in Dorset. Lived in Surrey when she first moved over, but it’s near Hampshire.
  21. Pluto is totes adorbs! and since I don’t have to listen for very long, the voice doesn’t bother me.🤗
  22. Antiques Road Show has announced that this year's tour has been postponed. https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/roadshow/ontour/
