  1. I got Voyager but said oil rig instead of derrick. Maybe that would've been accepted. FJ was a total gimme, but partly because I'd just seen a Pantene commercial with Priyanka Chopra, the star of Quantico, so it was fresh in my mind. I knew St Lawrence river was wrong, but would never have gotten the right answer in a million years. And I couldn't pull Sermon on the Mount out of my brain quickly enough. But I did get "Dr. Livingston, I presume", so that's something.
  2. I got Batman and Madrid. I've seen both The Marriage of Figaro and The Barber of Seville, so FJ was a breeze for me. I knew the one clue was looking for a Gus Van Sant film, but all I could come up with was Drugstore Cowboy, and I knew that wasn't correct. Edited to note that I also got LBJ.
  3. NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! Not Woo AND Hank!!!!! In the same freaking episode!! Up until then, I was enjoying the Terminator homages., but damn.
  4. I don't actual find this irrational. Lots of people try to hide medical conditions from their loved ones, even ones as serious as cancer, especially if they think the treatment will work and they can wait until they've been cured. I wouldn't do it, and I'd like to think my mother wouldn't either, but I understand people who do.
  5. God, Amelia is the worst. Yes, Owen can be overbearing, but she's the one that ran away and hid out at her resident's apartment rather than talk to her husband. I mean, I understand that she got scared when she thought she was pregnant, but she should've discussed it with her husband rather than running away like a child. Plus, all the yelling at each other in the hallway once again make me shout "Date outside the hospital, you fucking idiots!" at the tv. I'm glad Jackson actually mentioned HIPAA regulations when shooting down the idea of informing Maggie about her mother's health. I think that's the first time anyone on this show has shown any concern regarding those regulations. Usually they just talk about the patients' cases with everyone willy-nilly. The only people I liked this episode were the guest patients (was that Hal Holbrook?), Stephanie, DeLuca and Ben. And to a lesser extent, Jackson, who usually annoys me, so there's something to behaving like a professional, I guess. And yet, that was the most realistic thing Owen did in the episode - because generally hospital staff don't hand-hold patients' family members once they leave the hospital. Crap, when did that happen? I missed the first couple of minutes, so then, I guess? Ugh. Date outside the hospital, you fucking morons!
  6. If every moviegoer was as conscientious as you, there'd be no need for those "please turn off your cellphone" announcements before a movie.
  7. I used to love Seven Brides For Seven Brothers until I got to college, took an art history class, and found out that this song refers to the rape of the Sabine women. Now I just can't with that movie.
  8. Recently did a rewatch of Season 3 with someone who is new to the series, and I had the following thought about the family photographs: maybe there were the husband's family? And it made the pregnant woman's mother sad because she had none of her own family? It didn't strike me that the dialogue specified them being her photos.
  9. I answered Thirty One, because there's a purse company by the name, and everyone at work keeps having book parties for them. I'm fine with the champ staying since he seems like a nice guy, but I have to admit that I wouldn't have minded if Emlen had won, purely for shallow reasons. I also got Jacques Cartier, and I guessed cones before rods had been ruled incorrect. Not sure how I knew that one. I liked the French category and ran it, but although I am an Anglophile, I did poorly in the British city category because I hate the 'word inside phrase' type clues.
  10. Because you loved Doyle so much or because you thought all the Nazi metaphors were a little bit too much in that episode? Because Doyle was the only character on the show whom I actually liked.
  11. I forgot the category on that one. But I did know where the 'h' went for FJ, so there's that.
  12. Of course I can never see it without picturing Lil' Sweet on that jet ski.
  13. I find a lot of staples tend to be really cheap at Aldi than at the local supermarkets, especially milk and eggs. (No Wegmans within reasonable driving distance, unfortunately.) But that commercial is hella annoying. I've never seen Tommy Boy, and after seeing the douchenozzle in the AT&T ad spazzing around to "big guy in a little coat", I never want to. (Plus, I never found Chris Farley funny.)
  14. Awwww, and I was going to do just that. lol Actually I do know a couple of other Colombian cities, but was surprised they didn't get Bogota when the "B" was given to them. It's the San Jose Tequilas! Not for me - I'd never heard of it.
  15. I can honestly say that Sheldon is generally my least favorite character on TBBT. So I have trouble imagining a large following clamoring for this.
  16. Not quite. The people who built Sronehenge also built Woodhenge (nothing left but the posts now) and there are "menhir"s wherever the Celts lived (from Wales to France). I was travelling through Wales many years ago and saw a couple standing in a field (with no markers There are several standing circles in Britain, some even bigger than Stonehenge. Avebury, for one.
  17. When I taped my game, it was in September, but they told us it would air on October 30th, so we knew there'd be at least one Halloween-related category. Don't know if they still do that.
  18. There have been so many medical fuckups on this show with few or no repercussions. Hell, she even got the paperwork caught up so that Meredith wouldn't have to do it.
  19. I'm not saying he gets a pass as a person. I just found it refreshing to see a character not be repentant for a change.
  20. Like sourpickles, I'm torn on this. On one hand, Rita Ora was useless, I missed having an overseas location (with a go-see), and the emphasis on social media, however true to the current modeling world it may be, bored me to tears. Plus, I do miss Tyra as a photographer. On the other hand, the bat-shit crazy had gotten out of hand, and Kelly Cutrone and Bryanboy nearly killed me. I would really hate to lose Drew as a judge. (And sometimes Law and Ashley as well, although they were more hit-or-miss.) And with Tyra back, I get the feeling that the house DRAH-MAH will be turned up to 111. But I'm probably still in for next cycle. I do hope they keep Drew as a judge, and that they use Stacy more, 'cause I miss the days when Ms. J would actually work with the hamsters on their walks, and I think Stacy could fill that role.
  21. We saw Alex grow a trachea out of a concoction made from a child's cells in one of the post-hospital shooting episodes, and there was an episode where Mark did something with a skin flap to help Rosalind Chao speak after having had cancer surgery.
  22. That actually makes me hate her more. Because I've never considered librarian to be a stodgy profession and I hate the description "in-your-face punk librarian". But hey, to each their own. (Or chacon a son goute, as Alex would say with an impeccable, over-enunciated French accent.)
  23. I prefer April to Jackson on Grey's Anatomy. I'm not a big fan of the character, but she's better than he is.
