  1. I hope that women who comment here don't think I'm putting them down or anything. I know there's plenty of women with very high educations that would stand up to these Jeopardy goats....in fact....the first contestant was that guy who acted if though he would just breeze through it and didn't answer one question right and Ken had no problem beating him....now THAT was funny ....but you all know if you've watched Jeopardy over the years that these people are usually weak in "useless" knowledge pop culture topics....so why even have these guys there if you're not really going to challenge them in what their strength is? Isn't that the point?
  2. The bid a note round.....just like before....is more about getting it off the given clue.....especially if it's a one note bid. For example....on "Take My Breath Away"....the clue led me to think it was gonna be Danger Zone....but when I heard the three notes, I knew immediately. With modern post 2000 hits....I'm kind of weak.....I rarely miss on most tunes before that. I actually have more fun watching Beat Shazam though....even though it focuses more on modern top 40.....maybe it's because I like Jamie Foxx. But when they do categories in my musical wheelhouse.....I nail it.
  3. It's wheel of fortune. The game is the same....it just depends on who is playing. I watched for about five minutes....long enough for Leslie Jones to drive me to Hell's Kitchen.
  4. I thought they set things up for Kristin to beat Ken by loading her quiz up with female oriented questions that Ken couldn't possibly know......like what car Oprah gives away. How is a man supposed to know that? And how do you expect Ken to know BTS? I mean c'monnnn man.....then another girl question at the end to win her bank? Complete set up......and to hear "That's some real GIRL POWER" from the host felt like a slap in the face. Thumbs down on this show.
  5. Ok ok....the second episode when the golden medley was won.....Randy said it. Nice going "dawg*.
  6. Not too bad.....didn't expect it to be like any version from the past.....no melody roulette....familiar tunes that are kind of easy if you listen to a lot of music. Not as hard as Beat Shazam. I should go on this show. Didn't hear Randy Jackson say "dawg" even once.
  7. I can't find a special topic for the Great Christmas Light Fight.....is there one? Because quite frankly, whether it's a house display,. or one that stretches for miles....it knocks me off my feet every time....a mere $50,000 award just doesn't seem like enough. IT SHOULD BE A MILLION!!!!
  8. When Cedric the Entertainer hosted the daytime version, the format was completely different. For the first ten....they used to shuffle the categories and dollar amounts and when contestants got a question right, they would reveal the dollar amount won and that was added to the players bank. After ten questions, they played "classic millionaire" for the dollar amounts from $125.000 to one million. If a contestant lost in this round, they would receive half the bank they had accumulated in the earlier round.
  9. I guess that would depend on how many people you feed in your household.....I'm just a single and have no need to make up a big pot of homemade chili.....I certainly know how though. There is some canned chili ...like Nally's....where I would rather eat Alpo. Stagg is good.
  10. Kelly won with a country singer. Jake Hoot or whatever his name was. Gwen probably wins this season with a country singer. All the coaches realize they can't beat Blake unless it's with a country singer. And even if Blake stepped away.....his chair would go to a country singer who would win with a country singer.
  11. It's ok because I rarely watch it past the blinds anyway. Most of the singers are country and I'm not into that in fact....that's the issue with Idol as well. More southern viewers vote....they vote for country....I mean if you list all the Voice and American Idol winners going all the way back, they're from Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina.....it goes on and on.....say the year Adam Lambert should've won Idol....people complained and pushed for Kris Allen because he's wholesome all american country....that's where I really stopped watching it.
  12. I live in the west....I didn't know Stagg wasn't available anywhere else.....the show is in L.A......the contestants likely are too.... so they should know. We have Hormel chili in our supermarkets too.
  13. Sounds good.....cook some up and send it over. Cuz I ain't gonna do it. You say it's cheaper? You have to buy the meat, buy the tomatoes, buy the spice you need, buy the beans if you need them...when all is said and done....canned chili is cheaper.....and easier.
  14. Who hasn't heard of Stagg Chili? It's only the BEST canned chili you can buy! However, I rarely find it on sale and it's pretty expensive....up to 50 cents to a dollar more than other brands.
  15. You might've recognized actor Chris Beaumont....who played "Jerry Bishop" ...the male entry in Laurie's homecoming queen episode in which he was crowned after Laurie won and declined the title for the way that such contest stereotyped women as objects. Chris had also played "Jerry Rodgers" on an episode of the Brady Bunch...where he only dated Marcia so he could steal Greg's football playbook before the big game.
  16. A Thanksgiving Marathon of the Partridge Family was presented by Antenna TV. Amongst the episodes I completely forgot was the one featuring Rueben's latest discovery.....singing twins David and Andy....the real life nephews of crooner Andy Williams. I guess this was an attempt to launch them as artist as well as to boost ratings, that by 1974 were sagging as ABC moved them into a Saturday night time slot......it didn't really pan out. The twins had a minor hit in 1974, peaking at #92. It wasn't "Say It Again" though....the song they performed on the episode.
  17. The episode was a soft spinoff for "Getting Together" which paired talented composer Bobby Conway with lyricist Lionel Poindexter played by Wes Farrell, whose name you always see in the credits. He was part of the team responsible for the Partridge Family hits.
  18. I thought the exact same thing about him. I wasn't blown away.....I simply plugged my ears.
  19. Who was responsible for the really bad arrangement for "If I Could Turn Back Time"? Cuz even though I knew what song Marissa was doing....the performance left me saying "What song was that"? These coaches have simply got to stop butchering these well known songs that at least for me....there's a certain way I expect them to be done....and they don't seem to respect that. That said, Marissa has a voice that could do so.....perhaps it's Kelly's fault. My choice in the four way is Julia.
  20. After more than a month of this, the gimmicks have worn thin and I'm no longer watching. If it doesn't earn renewal so be it.
  21. I think there should always be a two male/two female dynamic. So if Nick is coming back....either John or Blake needs to take a season off. And since Blake has been on every season.....hey buddy, take some time off and hang out with Gwen for awhile.....we could have a Reba McIntyre sit in for you.
  22. If I thought "I Can See Your Voice" was the dumbest show on tv.....well Fox seems overly determined to put on an even more idiotic show. It's like "Hey.....since we got them all locked down and they can't go anywhere....let's show them THIS"......uhhhhhh NO.
  23. I got one more lame joke to add to all the predictably lame jokes. This show is the weakest link on all of tv. Goodbye.
  24. I have a "did you know".....but before I get to that.....the move to California of Laverne & Shirley was made more ridiculous by the fact that EVERYBODY made the move with them! Did you know..... that Micheal Nesmith and Micky Dolenz from the Monkees tv series both auditioned for the part of Fonzie? But both were rejected because the producers didn't want Fonzie to be taller than Richie, Potsie and Ralph. Both Nesmith and Dolenz were 6'1.....and they didn't want Fonzie to "overshadow* them. Funny because as you know when they eventually hired Henry Winkler....he ended up being the breakout star anyway.
