  1. How is Monica able to be at the laundromat all day while she is still employed as the manager of Patsy's? Employers want you to actually be at the job they are paying you for.
  2. I live in Montreal where our NHL hockey team is like a religion you follow. It's more common to find kids playing hockey than not. And especially in the more affluent areas, people make hockey rinks in their yards every winter. Canadian Tire even sells kits to help create/maintain your rink. So, I can totally see parents willing to drop the cash to convert their basement playroom with this or build a year-round rink in their backyard - at least in this city. I would venture that this would also be true in other hockey crazy cities. I was also surprised he didn't get a deal. They could have hired a decent salesman. Santa lady also got on my last nerve. I also used to use PNP until last year when we watched the video, and there was no naughty or nice ruling at the end. They failed to mention that the free video no longer included that. I forget exactly how the video ended, but I recall that it made Santa look somewhat suspicious asking for money or something. I unsubscribed. But i digress. I would never buy the crap from that lady. Canada Post answers letters to Santa for free and they were always good enough for my kids.
  3. I found another website that listed her at 5' 10.5". Another one had a picture where she looked very young, I don't think she's that old. I still recall when my younger son graduated from elementary school, part of the party included a swim in the public pool next door. These kids were all 12 at the time. One of the girls was taller me (I'm 5'7"), and was very completely developed. She could easily (and scarily) pass for 16-18 with the right hair, clothes, and makeup. I loved the episode and paid close attention to the Russian subtitles. The chicken fingers one was my favorite. Well done Pritchett-in-laws.
  4. I'm always behind but I love reading everyone's comments and especially appreciate the recaps from SRTouch. As for the surfboard kid with the arm in the sling. I think I may have figured out what happened. He put the surfboard where he said and it slid down from its vertical position to be lying flat on the ground where the defendant could now easily run it over. It's still his fault, because that's a stupid place to put your board and if it slides down, too bad for you numnut.
  5. For whatever reason, my PVR only taped 30 minutes this week instead of 31, so I missed the end teaser. All I saw was Amy, Leonard, and Penny by the kitchen counter and it cut out. What did I miss, please? Thanks in advance.
  6. My husband was very upset with this scene. He said "that guy just fell backwards with a six foot drop. His head is cracked open on the cement. He is dead." I had to admit that he had a point. Love Nelsan Ellis too, it took me a bit to recognize him.
  7. Dianne Buckner is still doing the voice overs but was nowhere to be seen. I wonder what happened? The cereal people should have taken the deal and the last woman did quite nicely with her site and her deal. The plastic dudes kind of rubbed me the wrong way. Like they were so incredibly amazing to be helping these poor impoverished people. Like we should bow down and applaud them or something. Lots of people help others but aren't so smug about it. The bamboo mascot made me think of Gumby.
  8. I was also watching CBC and I never saw the Frenchman congratulate the Brasilian which I thought was in poor form. I thought that the interview with the Canadian was OK. He was the world champion and expected to medal and finished in 10th. It makes sense to question that and it's not like they shoved a camera in his face and followed him around after he screwed up.
  9. I really think that diving across the finish line should be banned. If you happen to trip and fall across the line, then too bad for you. Disqualified. I just feel that this could start setting a distasteful precedent. I was shocked when they said it was legal.
  10. Wow, that pole vaulting was exciting to watch. Unbelievable that the Brasilian set a personal best and Olympic record on his way to snatching the gold medal from the defending champion. What a performance in such a stressful situation.
  11. I was so happy to see Bolt win and to see De Grasse win bronze. They both seem so nice and so appreciative of what they've accomplished and they were so nice to each other after the race. I cant wait to see what De Grasse comes up with in the next Olympics
  12. After giving up hope that NBC might show anything about how Canada did in the competition (CBC was showing volleyball), I just decided to enjoy watching the US Gymnastics Show, since it would appear that there was hardly anyone else competing. Personally, I thought Ali's floor routine was much better than Simone's and was surprised by the marks.
  13. As a Canadian, I have access to Canadian and US coverage. While Canadian coverage is exactly the type that you describe Britain provides, I have always found that the US coverage only includes events where the Americans will medal or are supposed to medal. It's always been that way. The coverage, and then the non stop analysis and interviews of those athletes. I read many years ago that Americans who live near the Canadian border were able to get the Canadian channels and watched that exclusively. I don't know why NBC (or whoever) continues to provide that sort of coverage, because the internet has taught me that Americans themselves would prefer more comprehensive coverage.
  14. My apologies if I missed a post about this, but I didn't see one. Some of the swimmers seem to have a little string hanging from the nosepiece of their goggles. It looks like they forgot it when cutting off the price tag. What is the reason for it?
  15. The married couple with the legally blind husband are just so nice to everyone and each other. They never appear to be stressed out. So rare to see a team this chill. Edited to add that eating those bugs, worms, and a BAT would have been my undoing. Kudos to all the teams for getting that done, except for Ice who made mom eat everything except for the dessert worm.
  16. My understanding with the monkey bars challenge was that the second time, the harness would be supporting your weight. If that's the case, then wouldn't you just have to hand-over-hand without having to pull yourself to finish the challenge? People seemed to still be really stressed out about it.
  17. Isn't her name Cersei Baratheon? Widows, especially dowager queens, don't normally go back to their maiden names back in those days do they?
  18. I just found it on iTunes at $2.99 per ep, but I'm not sure if there on restrictions or not as to whether or not US customers can purchase them.
  19. I agree that I'm tired of the stunt casting and especially tired of the producers looking to recruit people for the show. I'm more than happy to watch real fans who don't look like supermodels on the show. My kids also used to love the show but ever since they started The Amazing Race Canada, they've lost interest in the US one because the tasks on the Canadian one are so much harder. I also find that the tasks on the US one have become more dumbed down over the years. YMMV.
  20. What Shari said was "we're a family of 8." So I understood that to mean 6 kids plus the parents, so the profile makes sense to me.
  21. I didn't like that this leg hinged on the very first thing they did. If you could grab the clue first shot, then good for you. If you didn't, then you had to go all the way back up and burn time. That's exactly what happened. Because Matt took 1 try, Sheri took 2, and Tyler 3, the race was over after one task and very anticlimactic no matter what the editors tried. I call that poor leg design especially on a final leg.
  22. This show is starting to seem a bit like Lost to me. They keep on bringing more crazy shit into the plot and just abandon things for seasons at a time and you wonder if they are ever getting back to that plot point? I just hope that it doesn't end all crazy like Lost did. I have zero interest in watching Ramsey torture anybody else. But I'm all for anyone giving him the slowest and most painful death possible.
  23. There was a comment made that Cam couldn't go to his prom because he didn't have a date. Is that how it is in the US? You can only go if you have a date?
  24. Those women with the nursing tops really blew it. They had Jim and then lost him when they continued to suck up to Arlene and pretended that Jim hadn't even made an offer. An expensive but valuable lesson.
  25. I think that it's because he's Britsh that he pronounced it that way. JLM pronounces many words differently, my favorite of which has been zeh-brah (zebra)
